Celine Dion’s last tour was cut short in March 2020 due to the start of the pandemic. The dates were originally rescheduled for 2022, but she postponed them for health reasons in January of that year. The tour was then supposed to begin in 2023. In December 2022, Celine revealed that she’d been diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder called stiff-person syndrome, which was causing her painful muscle spasms. She was also having difficulty walking and using her vocal cords, which made performing out of the question.
Celine returned to the stage for the first time since her diagnosis to sing at the opening ceremony of 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. It was a moving performance that had everyone in tears. Well, there is some good news! Celine just announced that she’ll be making a comeback! She’ll be performing 10 shows in Paris throughout September and October 2026.
[Celine Dion] announced in a press release Monday that she will perform a residency-style run of shows at Paris La Défense Arena beginning Sept. 12, marking her first full concerts in years as she continues to manage stiff-person syndrome. The concerts were teased in March through a poster campaign across Paris featuring the titles of some of Dion’s most famous songs, including “Pour que tu m’aimes encore” and “Power of Love,” before the shows were officially confirmed.
Dion will perform multiple shows per week throughout September and October at the 40,000-seat venue, which has previously hosted major acts such as Taylor Swift, the Rolling Stones and Kendrick Lamar.
The 10-show concert series is currently scheduled to conclude Wednesday, Oct. 14, according to a press release.
In a statement included in Monday’s press release, Dion said, “Over the last few years, every day that’s gone by, I’ve felt your prayers and support, your kindness and love. You’ve helped me in ways that I can’t even describe, and I’m truly fortunate to have your support.”
“This year, I’m getting the best birthday gift of my life…I’m getting the chance to see you, to perform for you once again in Paris, beginning in September!” she continued. “I’m feeling good, I’m strong, I’m feeling excited, obviously a little nervous, but most of all, I’m grateful to all of YOU! I love you all and I’ll see you soon!”
Dion’s health journey was documented in the 2024 film “I Am: Celine Dion,” where the singer spoke candidly about how much performing means to her.
“When you record, it sounds great. But when you go on stage, it will be greater. I think we did create our own magic,” she said in the film.
She also reflected on the emotional toll of canceling shows due to her health.
“It’s not hard to do a show, you know. It’s hard to cancel a show,” Dion said, adding that while her condition had kept her off the stage, she had no plans to give up.
“I’m working hard every day, but I have to admit: It’s been a struggle. I miss it so much. The people, I miss them,” she said at the time. “If I can’t run, I’ll walk. If I can’t walk, I’ll crawl. And I won’t stop. I won’t stop.”
Oh, I’m so excited for Celine’s comeback! When she shared the news of her illness, I was genuinely devastated for her. She’s been through so much personal tragedy over the years, but is such an inspiration. I can’t tell you how happy I am that she must feel well enough to commit to a month-long stretch of performances. I can’t see her touring due to her health issues, but do wonder if she’ll extend her concert dates if there is a big enough demand. That said, I honestly think that a 40,000 person venue will be too small! Celine appeals to so many different fan bases and has earned so much love and good will that I can easily see this being a hotter ticket than the Oasis reunion or the Eras Tour. No offense to either fanbase! These are just very different circumstances. Celine’s comeback concerts are a very big deal, and I think fans will show up for her.

This is great news indeed! She looks so healthy and pretty, like she’s been truly focusing on herself and regaining her health.
She looks fresh-faced and beautiful and I LOVE that black cloak-dress!
“Multiple shows per week” sounds like a LOT though. I hope that her health continues to improve and that the strain of these shows won’t take a toll.
I am trying to figure out how I convince my husband to take another vacation this year.
My goddesses, that would AMAZING!!
Paris AND Celine?!?!
My heart would probably not be to go on 😉
