Peter Phillips & Harriet Sperling’s wedding date has been set for June 6th

Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling announced their engagement last summer after a whirlwind romance. When you know, you know, apparently. I always respected Peter for dating age-appropriate women, actually, and I think Peter and Harriet sound well-matched. It seemed normal to me that they moved fast on the engagement. Then something weird happened – the wedding plans were seemingly being slow-walked. It’s been months and months since we heard anything about Peter, Harriet or their engagement or wedding plans. Was that hold-up related to Peter’s plan to invite all of his cousins to his wedding, including Prince Harry? Perhaps. In any case, the wedding date has been set!

Peter Phillips and his fiancée Harriet Sperling are set to marry in June, HELLO! understands.

Peter – the eldest child of Princess Anne, first cousin of Prince William and 19th in line to the throne – and his bride-to-be Harriet will tie the knot on 6 June 2026 at All Saints Church in Kemble, Cirencester in a private ceremony.

It is understood that the King and Queen, and Prince and Princess of Wales have already been informed about the upcoming royal wedding, with further details expected in due course. HELLO! previously revealed the couple’s engagement last August.

Wednesday’s official announcement read: “Mr Peter Phillips, the son of HRH The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips and Ms Harriet Sperling, daughter of the late Mr Rupert Sanders and Mrs Mary Sanders of Gloucestershire, have today announced their wedding date.

“The summer wedding will take place at All Saints Church, Kemble, Cirencester on Saturday 6th June 2026 in a private ceremony. Both families have been informed jointly of the wedding date by invitation.

“Their Majesties The King and Queen, The Prince and Princess of Wales have also been informed of the announcement. Further details will be announced in due course.”

[From Hello Magazine]

Why does Peter have to inform the Prince and Princess of Wales again? He has to inform the king, obviously, but why William and Kate? These people are so weird and it feels like William demanded that HE be included in Peter’s announcement too. Anyway, an early June wedding probably means that Prince Harry and Meghan won’t attend. Harry is scheduled to go to the UK in July for Invictus One Year To Go events, and I don’t see how Harry would fly to the UK just for his cousin’s wedding. I do wonder if Peter will even send them an invitation. One thing’s for sure, Kensington Palace will brief the Times and Mail all about Peter’s wedding invitations and William’s bullying and threats around the wedding soon enough.

D Day would not be my first choice for a wedding date…

But “Operation Distract From Andrew-Epstein and Harry’s Visit” is in full swing! Well done Harriet, you’ve decided to throw in your lot with the Windsors….let’s hope they reward you for doing your duty. And may God have mercy on your soul

It’s my anniversary. 😊 33 years this year. I wanted a June wedding and I’m a history lover.

  2. Jais says:

Is William going to try and block the York sisters from attending this as well? Anyways yes we’ll all be briefed about Harry either being snubbed or being rude in not attending a wedding that takes place 2 days after his daughter’s birthday.

  3. YankeeDoodles says:

Yes, indeed. D-day is the first thought that went though my mind!!! Good luck to them. She’s a breath of fresh air. Women in the UK are so grounded and decent and wise and compassionate, for the most part, in my experience, and indeed, many of the men are, too. She’s much more in line with her culture than Waity ever was, my god. Congratulations to them both.

I’m here for the wedding guest styles. Last time, at that big society wedding of Hugh grosvenor, I had a hard time really liking many of the dresses. So there is a chance at wedding style redemption here. I would appreciate some super silly hats though.

    • BeanieBean says:

I was just thinking I’d like to see something really radical among the women, no stupid little hats of any kind! I don’t care if you call them ‘fascinators’, they’re still stupid and they’re still little.

  5. Amy Bee says:

I’m not sure why they’re even announcing the wedding date. He’s not a working royal and doesn’t have a title.

    • Jais says:

Distraction. A leading up to the wedding story that distracts from all their bad press. That’s all I can figure.

  6. Blubb says:

Why does he need to inform the king? He doesn’t need his permission. He isnt a working royal.

    • irisrose says:

Because he’s drumming up interest in selling the wedding photos to HELLO! as he did last time.

I await all the deranger screams about:
    – church wedding for a divorced person
    – a long white wedding dress (if she wears one)
    – her wearing a tiara (if she wears one)

  8. KC2 says:

At least William has a family excuse to ignore D-Day and the veterans this year.

  9. jferber says:

KC2, William doesn’t need an excuse to snub D-Day and the veterans. He truly couldn’t care less about other people.
