P6: Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce’s wedding is set for July 3rd in New York??

Us Weekly recently claimed that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have set the date for their wedding. Because Travis is going back to play for the Chiefs for at least one more year, that means that the wedding plans have to be arranged around his training camp and the early part of the Chiefs’ season. The idea was that Taylor and Travis would have their wedding weeks before his training camp started, and they landed on June 13th for the wedding date. Allegedly, Taylor wanted to have the wedding at her large Rhode Island beach mansion. I thought all of that sounded more than reasonable and believable. But Page Six’s sources claim something else entirely: that Travis and Taylor will marry in New York just before our nation’s semiquincentennial.

Welcome to New York, it’s a big wedding for you. A source tells Page Six that the save-the-dates for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding have gone out. And the big day is set for the Big Apple on July 3rd!

The news comes as a surprise. There have been several reports that the pop superstar and Kansas City Chiefs champ were eyeing Rhode Island — where Swift owns a large estate next door to a hotel — for the nuptials.

However, a source told Page Six back in November that the pair was thinking about scrapping that idea and going “‘all out’ at a totally different venue that can accommodate more attendees.”

The couple would be joining a long lists of celebs who have tied the knot here. Beyonce and Jay-Z said “I do,” in their TriBeCa apartment in 2008. Others include Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey and Tommy Mottola, Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, and Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas.

July 4th is famously Swift’s favorite holiday. This year is also the celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.

Swift has close ties to the city that never sleeps. She moved into two adjacent penthouses in TriBeCa in 2014, converting them into one large duplex. From there she has expanded to buy the townhouse next door and a 3,500-square-foot loft in the same building.

[From Page Six]

It’s true that Taylor loves Independence Day. But it’s also true that Taylor famously loves to go to Rhode Island for the Fourth! Why would she stick around New York for the Fourth of July? Why would she organize a New York wedding around her favorite holiday, when there’s probably going to be nonstop chaos all around the semiquincentennial in general? Not for nothing, but that would put her wedding smack-dab in the middle of the World Cup too. Nah – I think the June 13th date is far more likely, and I think Taylor would probably prefer to marry in Rhode Island and not NYC.

I dont know why, I just dont see a NYC wedding happening. I know lots of celebs have married there (I mean its NYC for crying out loud lol) but I see her going for a different vibe. I kind of imagine her doing what Brad and Jen did and getting married on the beach but in a huge tent so everything is locked down from photogs. But maybe she’ll surprise us all and get married on the coast of Italy. (I know, random, lol.)

Great! I’ll grab my plane tickets because the date and location of their wedding will absolutely be public knowledge. We’re all invited! 🎊🎉💍 👰🤵

I’m sure I will be proven wrong but i don’t buy this at all. Summer in NYC is miserable with the heat and if you can avoid it you do. She has the money to avoid it.

The Hamptons and dozens of other tourists traps exist because New York is so miserably hot in summer. It is ingrained in the culture of the city that anyone who can bolts the city in July and August. Hopefully, they pull off a quiet, secret wedding. She can move quietly for years at a time and only be heard and seen when she chooses. No one will know when she marries unless she wants it known.

Agreed 💯. The bonus of NYC is that you could create anything under the sun. Travis has an immense number of besties and brothers-from-another-mother who need to all fit somewhere. Plus Taylor has UK folks coming in. I’d love for it to be secret but TMZ is following the Kelce parents, BOO! to those privacy stomping a**holes.

It’ll be a Taylor creation but Travis is plenty involved, you saw how he plotted his proposal, ring, photographer, the works. Then they didn’t announce it for a while, they both know how to be stealth. Training camp is END of July so I wouldn’t bet on a date or location.

If I was as famous as her, I would tell certain people a fake date to see if there’s a rat within my circle….

    • Michel says:

Exactly. I think we are going to hear about a half dozen fake dates and locations.

      • mightymolly says:

Yeah, no question they’ll be dropping fake details all over the place. The wedding will be completely off the grid and we won’t know about it until an official announcement with photos someone paid zillions for the rights to.

I think they met in person for the first time in July in NYC, so I guess it’s possible, but I don’t really buy it.

Maybe early July is the date, but I think he starts camp in the middle of July, so that wouldn’t leave much time for even unwinding from the event. I guess they’re both extroverts, so they might not need to unwind after human interaction 😂

I thinks June and Rhode island sounds more plausible. They’re just going to float different states and times until after it’s happened.
