Kate Gosselin really is the diva queen of keeping her much maligned name in the press. After Kate escaped elimination on “Dancing with the Stars” for her third laughably bad yet defiant performance TLC announced that they’re going to launch a new Kate Gosselin reality show this summer called “Twist of Kate”. The concept involves Kate visiting and “helping” fans with personal issues, for which she serves as some kind of (twisted) role model. If Kate Gosselin is your role model, you know you have problems.
As if that isn’t enough, they’ll air new “Kate Plus 8” specials featuring footage of Kate with her kids. Love or hate her, people want to see Kate and her bitchface doing it “for her kids.” It’s all for her kids, and she just needs to chronicle those family memories for posterity, cash and fame.

TLC announces plans today for the Jon & Kate Plus 8 star to get her own series, Twist of Kate, and to revisit her family life, without ex-husband Jon, in a series of Kate Plus 8 specials. It’s part of a plan to build on the channel’s growth that also includes Sarah Palin’s Alaska, a travelogue series about the state and its high-profile former governor.
In Twist of Kate, Gosselin will use fan letters from women inspired by her story as the basis for profiles of women facing their own challenges. Twelve episodes will start airing in late summer.
“I look at it as a loose concept,” says Gosselin, who says that despite rumors, she never contemplated dating or talk shows. “I want to be out there learning from others, helping to provide insight whenever I can, though I don’t consider myself an expert on anything.”
Gosselin will visit the homes and workplaces of everyday people. “She will be in that person’s shoes. And more often than not, it’s not going to be terribly comfortable for her,” says TLC chief Eileen O’Neill. “She’s game for things, but she also has limits and boundaries.”

How is Kate going to help these women – by lecturing and nagging them until they just give in and agree with her? How is it helpful to her kids to continue showing them on television? It isn’t, and Kate will do whatever it takes to suck every last drop of fame. Sadly, it’s working for her, even if she’s primarily getting negative press.
Jon Gosselin filed for primary custody of the couples’ eight children yesterday, citing Kate’s job on Dancing with The Stars and calling her an “absentee mom.” Kate’s lawyer called Jon’s filing “incoherent” and noted that Jon’s address wasn’t even listed with the paperwork. Maybe that’s because he’s been living with friends and has no fixed address. At least mean mom Kate has a job.

If she’s really getting $20,000 in child support, why is that not enough that she doesn’t have to work. Didn’t TLC contractually put some untouchable money away for the kids’ college funds? Do they go to private schools? I know it’s expensive to bring up kids but I could make $20K work especially when she’s probably getting a number of things for free.
Yes, people expect Jon to go back to IT or whatever he was doing but no-one expects Kate to go back to nursing (well, I do). She says this public life is all she can do. Unfortunately she has NO TALENT for it. Katie Price can write a better book than she can.

You know- I don’t have any particular dislike OR like for Kate, but seriously, what IS the attraction? Is there a big appetite for watching her go through legal stuff with her creepy fatboy ex-husband? Or to watch her children grow up with every dysfunction imaginable? I just don’t get it. But then, I also don’t get the VENOM a lot of people have for trashing her at every opportunity. Must be me.
I must confess, I would LOVE to be on DWTS or actually just be a student of one of those pros. I love Ballroom dancing, sadly I am about as gracefull as a three legged ditch pig I would probably make Kate and Buzz look like Fred and Ginger, but it would still be really fun to learn the steps and wear the outfits.

Feebee, I’m in agreement. I do doubt she’s getting child support payments as he seems to have no job, but she’s making good money on her own. The DwtS $$ is substantial. I agree she should get out of the spotlight and go back to her regular job, though I can’t imagine any hospital wanting to hire her at this point.
Why would anyone think she could help others with their problems, when her own personal life is so shaky? I’d rather take advice from someone doing well in life, not someone clinging to fame and having tabloid wars with her ex.
I hope they send her into situations where people are REALLY struggling to make ends meet and support their kids, don’t have TV paychecks and book deals, etc. A little perspective would be good for her.
I strongly doubt Kate is actually getting that $20,000 a month in CS considering John is broke, AND if she were to take a normal job, just how many hours do you think she would have to work to support her 8 kids by herself? She would NEVER be able to see her kids. In fact in all likelihood they wouldnt be able to live with her becuase she would be working full time and a half to support her. So dont knock her spending time away to support her family. Its so many parents that have no choice but to , and it doesnt make them bad parents
No really i actually am starting to get kind of pissed at the people telling her she needs to be at home. This is how she has provided for her children since they were babies. What dou you expect her to do????!!!! what can you do to continue to pay the bills on eight kids and a 2 mil$ home? There’s no address on Jon’s legal filing because he doesn’t have one. He was kicked out of his girlfriend’s parents’ house when she broke up with him because she got tired of paying for everything. Since then he’s been crashing with his brother and various friends. He has no home, no job, no income, so he filed for custody so he could avoid getting a job but still have a home and an income.

Why should people give this woman a “break”? Kate is the one throwing herself all over television and in the headlines. Obviously, a break isn’t what she wants. I also don’t get why she needs that insane amount of money. Pimping your kids all over TV doesn’t warrant you credit for doing “what you can to survive”. The State of Pennsylvania already awarded these children a guaranteed college education upon their birth. Given that they already made $75,000 episodes a show (which lasted multiple seasons), this woman has long had the money to slow things down and spend time with her children, she’s a multi-millionaire at this point. I suggest she get her priorities in order.
Neither Kate nor Jon has proven to put the kids first. Kate thinks she is a Hollywood star and Jon doesn’t have his life together. Let the courts decide. Who knows…maybe 6 months ago Kate was the better parent, but now maybe Jon can offer time with the kids and Kate can’t. The kids have money – what they NEED is time with their parents!!!

People are so idiotic thinking she would be able to support 8 children as a single mom without doing what she is doing now. Supposed 20k child support aside, because there is no way she is getting that much when Jon does nothing but whore around- that much money wouldn’t support 8 kids and a house and all the food required.
I don’t remember who it was that suggested that was even possible, but you must be living in a dream world… or stuck in a time warp. She is clearly doing what she needs to do to get money while she can. She won’t be famous enough for this forever and she knows it. And this is temporary, not full time for months, so it’s really not the huge issue it is being made out to be.

Kate could go back to nursing. They actually make pretty good money – sometimes even more than physicians – and she’d be HOME, near her children, instead of across the country, flitting from one TV show set to the next. She’s written several books – her advance from those alone would be in the 6 figures for each book. If she did it right, she’d be getting residuals from J&K+8’s every airing, plus her percentage from the DVD sales.
She has 8 kids, and a huge home. If she can’t afford her home, do what most normal people do and downsize. She can live in a home of comparable size that costs LESS. She can stop dressing her kids in designer clothes. She can stop getting $7k weaves. She can actually spend her money WISELY instead of being so frivolous with it. People say that “she’s doing what she has to” but how many other families of kids of 8 are doing what she’s done?
I know 3 families with MORE than 8 kids – one’s a single parent home – and they’re doing things that do not keep them from their children, ALL in one of the most expensive states to live in and WITHOUT govt. help. If they can do it, Kate can, too. She just doesn’t want to because that would mean she’d actually have to WORK.

I’m not sure what Kate is doing or trying to do. Sometimes I think she’s being selfish and other times I don’t because if you look and watch jon doesn’t do anything to help out and he never really has!!! I do think that kate is greedy to an extent considering she can lower their standards of living to make ends meet to an extent. Idk about raising a family of 9 on a nurses income when the father isn’t helping out at all. Kate just needs to find something more productive to do that will earn her family good money without making herself look like a greedy bitch or a mom that hardly sees her kids.

As part of the original agreement, Jon was PROHIBITED from working for ANY company or organization by TLC until his contract is up with TLC.

Furthermore, learn about child support. It’s also contingent on how much time you spend with the kids. The LESS time you spend with the kids, the MORE you have to pay in child support. The MORE time you have the kids in your care, the LESS you have to pay, which only makes sense.

(By the way, instead of going home after DWTS this week, she went to New York to rehearse with Tony, which is where she still is now.
