Prince William is having an ‘I told you so’ moment about the Sussexes

Odd vibes are emanating from the Prince and Princess of Wales. Given their public appearances last week, I think they’re trying to present themselves as completely done with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, while also noticeably notching up their workload because of the Sussex Return. I don’t even think that Prince William and Kate should be or could be doing anything differently, you know? They’re not happy that the Sussex family is back, but they also have some kind of plan in place. That plan? Work more, schedule their events around Harry’s events to force royal reporters to “choose,” continue the embiggening and keenery. That’s all boilerplate. What makes me sick is that Team Wales continues to push this narrative that the Sussexes caused so much “stress” for Kate that it affected her health, and that’s why the 2024 saga of Kate Missington happened. It’s one of the most manipulative narratives I’ve ever seen from these two.

Prince William wasn’t very confident that brother Prince Harry and sister-in-law Meghan Markle’s return to the United Kingdom wouldn’t reopen old wounds.

“There was cautious optimism that perhaps they would arrive in silent dignity and not stir up drama, but William was much less optimistic than the king and was proven right because right now he’s having an ‘I told you so’ moment,” a source exclusively tells Us.

“William and Kate don’t have to do anything and say anything. History has proven time and again Meghan and Harry will dig their own grave,” continues the source. “And this takes them further away from reconciliation.”

“William has not spoken to Harry,” the insider adds. “William also hasn’t gotten over all the stress that Harry and Meghan caused leading up to Kate’s cancer diagnosis. She finally reached remission, only for them to come back to the U.K. and create more stress for everyone.”

[From Us Weekly]

The imagery of “Meghan and Harry will dig their own grave” is pretty ugly, which means this is definitely coming from Peggy’s camp. “She finally reached remission, only for them to come back to the U.K. and create more stress for everyone.” I don’t get it – are we saying that Harry and Meghan’s mere presence in the same country has a devastating (if not debilitating) effect on Kate’s health? But then how did the Sussexes destroy Kate’s health in 2023-24? The Sussexes’ mere existence in California was so brutal on Kate! What are we doing here?

The “dig their own grave” comment is hideous. I hope it was sent immediately to RAVEC for threat assessment

    • Jais says:

That imagery is not a coincidence. And neither are a lot of the comments blaming Harry and Meghan for causing harm to not just Kate but to themselves by moving back to the uk.

      • Murali says:

80% of sm engagement is bots. These are undoubtedly kp bots.

      • Hypocrisy says:

No it’s not a coincidence at all, Willy and Waity want the Sussex’s dead or gravely injured they have made no secret about that.. As for Waity an her so called remission from some mystery cells (she has never named the cancer she supposedly had) to outright blame anyone for your own health issues is absolutely disgusting I hope karma slaps back hard on Waity for this truly evil and false storyline.

  2. Tessa says:

The keens caused the stress. So pathetic that they try to play victims. They were OK with going on church walks with andrew

    • Where'sMyTiara says:

This whole narrative is 100% DARVO.

WanK, Charles, and their respective courtiers were responsible for Meghan’s unalivement ideation which led to the Sussexes leaving in the first place.

All of which was gleefully triangulated by the press keen to make bank on a royal feud. A feud that is only possible because Camilla sought to drive Charles and his sons apart, and because Charles has for years pitted his sons against each other to make them compete for his non-existent affection.

Narcissism is at the root of every problem in the palace-press industrial complex.

  3. Chenni says:

No it’s putting stain on their marriage rather than health. William looks completely checked out and I don’t think he has the energy to fight like in 2018 saga. From kp briefing it’s clear that William and kate is not united to smear sussex they used to be. That’s why they didn’t do any stunt so far by allowing the press to photograph them dropping louis without any issue. I don’t still have this eerie feeling about this whole thing.

Harry maybe be delusional but meghan is not . Meghan would have not come back without any solid guarantee. So far it’s not working royal or security. Maybe it’s something else and they will slowly leakage to the press etc.

Because it’s not working royal or security I don’t why chuck was very KEEN ON harry back to fold ? Also why he let go of that Wasp too?

    • Smart&Messy says:

Very interesting points! It was noticeable how bullying H&M united the Waleses for a short period of time, and it remains to be seen if it happens this time. As for H and M’s reasons, if H manages to keep Invictus intact through the year, get royal protection back, prove that the British people actually love them and march back to Montecito victorious, I’d say it was worth it.

    • RavenBlue says:

Harry is not delusional. He has accomplished (what I feel) is a Herculean task of escaping the BRF’s billion-dollar firms iron grip and managed to make a good start outside of that. All while trying to dodge his psychopathic brother’s machinations to destroy him and his accomplishments/charities, along with the press, who will stop at nothing to tarnish his reputation. He’s founded many charities, including the very successful IG. We don’t know what Harry and Meghan know, and to say, after all he’s gone through and all he’s accomplished, that he’s delusional because he made a decision that some don’t agree with is not fair. I see no proof that he’s delusional. That’s only a talking point that has popped up in these comments recently.

  4. KristenfromMA says:

He’s so jealous of Harry (in general) and so bitter about his marrying Meghan that he’ll just heap the blame for anything and everything on them. It’s irrational and I would hope that someone would try and get him into therapy.

    • YankeeDoodles says:

Agreed, @KristenFromMa, I think being *this* clearly obsessed with a woman who is not your wife — let alone your brother’s wife — would be a red flying flag to any therapist worth their salt that all is not well with the wife at home, or, likely, with the mother, or her memory, etc…. William clearly has mummy issues, and wife issues, and apparently mistress issues. He’s one of those people who was not helped by being cloistered in a boys’ school.

  5. Jay says:

Yeah, this is definitely coming from William. Not just the imagery, but the idea of forcing royal reporters to “choose” (and clearly assuming that newspaper coverage is apportioned based on rank and not, um, what sells). This man STILL doesn’t get it. He can have all the invisible contracts with the press he wants – if he schedules events to compete with Harry, he’s going to lose. Meghan can knock him off the front page with an Instagram reel. It’s delusional.

As to these “concerns” about Kate’s health, and how her cancer might just come back now that the Sussexes are on the same land mass, I think it’s more that William thought he was going to be able to do more events solo and get people used to not seeing Kate. They spent years setting up that she was not going to be “returning” to”work” (airquotes mine) maybe ever. Because cancer. Kate was going to hole up in Forest Lodge and show up sporadically, but William was probably looking forward to being free of her.
But then the Sussexes return and throw it all into disarray – now Kate has to be dragged out for every event, William will have to grit his teeth and give the press as many festive glances as he can stomach if he wants to compete.

    • HuffnPuff says:

This is all to set the stage for the return of her “cancer”. It’s the perfect excuse for them to get out of their “work”. If they can blame it on the Sussexes, that’s even better to them. Disgusting, jealous and lazy. And to think that these adult children will be crowned king and queen. Yuck!

  6. Nanea says:

    William is despicable and disgusting.

Kate’s Kancer Kard being pulled out again, just because… when Mumblina herself mentioned pre-cancerous cells.

That she never was at Royal Marsden was proven by her remarks when she didn’t know about the garden created by survivors (?) and had never seen the arch at the entrance.

All the Middletonedeafs said that Kate wasn’t sick in the traditional sense, and drunk uncle domestic abuser Gary had no idea about anything while he was on DWTS.

  7. Tis True, Tis True says:

Can we be honest and admit that Will and Kate are the drama here and have been for a long time?

    • Jais says:

But just last week, weren’t Meghan and Harry being called the drama? Funny that. One family is briefing about trying to get security while the other family is briefing about how they will dig their own graves for….trying to get security for their kids. And oh yeah, check notes, causing cancerous cells to be present.

  8. Me at home says:

Wonder if this is why Willy hired Sunny Bullets earlier this year–he knew the Sussexes were considering returning and wanted a plan. Because yeah, this is all Willy stirring up the drama.

And eff them (and maybe Sunny Bullets) for the “Harry and Meghan caused Kate’s cancer” insinuation.

    • Jay says:

We really haven’t heard from Sunny Bullets since the news of her hiring, but my impression was always that KP wanted someone to polish William’s image and push the “global statesman, just can’t wait to be king, why won’t Charles just get out of the way already?” narrative. I feel like Kate was being quietly faded to the background (for her health) and William imagined himself soaking up all of the attention, doing solo events as he pleased and fancying himself as the only senior royal left. So you can just imagine his rage at this turn of events – I think the reaction he’s having now shows he had absolutely no clue about Harry returning.

  9. sunniside up says:

Easier to blame Meghan for existing than blame William for his temper tantrums. If Kate can’t cope with life it is time for her to retire.

  10. Smart&Messy says:

1000x this about Kate. I’m so disgusted by this fragile 44 yo woman narrative. 🙄

    • Josephine says:

Classic case of white woman tears. She and her terror husband should be deeply ashamed of how they live. They are the depravity that the monarchy creates. Spoiled, self-indulgent, greedy brats.

      • MaisiesMom says:

Look, I’m a white woman and I would never be so obnoxious and entitled as to suggest that someone else’s presence caused my cancer. Or my “pre cancer.” Stress can contribute to illness but Kate is the one stressing herself out here. I hate the way she sends the press out to fight her trivial battles.

      • QuiteContrary says:

I’m also a white woman and this is 100% white woman tears.

Kate has been pulling this card since the wedding/crying story. She knows how effective it can be, and so does William.

Kate loves to play the fragile English rose trampled on by the mean Black duchess, when it’s Kate who’s the real mean girl.

      • Becks1 says:

Absolutely white woman tears. Kate’s always played the victim card when it comes to Meghan, but the cancer adds another layer because that’s been her ultimate “card” to play for the past 2.5 years. She cant work – cancer. She can’t travel for work – cancer. She needs a new house- cancer. The press cant criticize her – cancer. Meghan is the worst – she caused the cancer.

It’s absolutely gross how they use her cancer* to justify their lifestyle and their attacks on another woman.

*and that’s without getting into the nitty gritty of the cancer diagnosis itself, alleged treatment, etc.

      • lamejudi says:

Funny how it’s never mentioned that Keen’s smoking might have been a factor for the pre-cancerous cells.

  11. advisor2U says:

Her husband effected/is effecting her (mental) health.
We’ll find out about that/the incidences in due time.

    • SpringFlower says:

Since when is Us Weekly a reliable source? I don’t believe this is inside information at all. And if it is, it would be pretty damaging PR for the RF, because the accusation that Harry and Meghan were responsible for the stress in the period leading up to Kate’s cancer diagnosis goes way too far.

And a dignified silence after the King sent his own — and very easy to misinterpret — letter? Haha. Uganda made sure a response from the Sussex camp was entirely appropriate.

      • Murali says:

Willy’s tabloid people have put out that story many times about h and m causing Kate’s cancer. Even though willy himself said pre cancerous cells and kate knowing nothing about cancer treatment. It’s not written if it hadn’t been approved by kp.

  12. alisays says:

While he continues to create all the hurdles for them .
    What a little man !

  13. Over it says:

This is to prepare us for when kitty ans willy suddenly can’t pretend to keep up their so call busy schedule anymore because Kate needs rest so she doesn’t have a relapse and Willy needs to be there to hold her hand because he is such a supportive husband. Poor fragile little English rose . Won’t someone feel sorry for the fact that she has to work and not just lie in her bed in . Her tiara all day style stalking Meghan . Not like they actually work much . Kitty worked two days last week and it’s now Wednesday and she hasn’t done f all ever since. These two annoy the f out of me

  14. Amy Bee says:

William and Kate helped drive Meghan to suicide ideation. GTFOH with this cancer and stress talk. If she and William had left them alone they wouldn’t be trying to outwork Harry at the moment.

  15. Sunday says:

This is just typical DARVO / whataboutism from Will & Kate. As we know, Meghan had suicidal ideation before fleeing the UK and then tragically suffered a miscarriage in July 2020, when she was under incredible stress from the Sussexit fallout. iirc, Harry has made comments in the past (maybe in Spare?) about how much their treatment at the hands of the firm has cost them. So of course KP turns it around to hold the Sussexes responsible for Kate’s wellbeing.

    • QuiteContrary says:

      All of this.

The research on whether stress contributes in any way to cancer is mixed, but if stress does play a role, then William ought to look in the mirror, because being married to a rage monster must be stressful as hell, even if Kate — as we’ve been told — gives as good as she gets from William.

  16. Puff Updater says:

Bill is just festering inside, Kate always looks like she needs to be heavily medicated just to tolerate his fetid presence. What an unhappy pair. The genuinely happy images of H&M must drive them both batshit. I still want the Sussexes off that Isle of Doom and into a safe haven though! Why won’t they listen to me, lol.

    • Kasztanka says:

Well, Kate isn’t exactly a model of hygiene either. The sight of her unkempt feet during a visit where she knew she’d have to take off her shoes said it all. Her hands and wigs cry out for attention, too. It’s only Photoshop that maintains her polished look; without it, what remains is a slob.

      • Puff Updater says:

Before each “working day” photo-op, I have the strongest (probably 100% psychic and accurate) image of those two drinking heavily (in separate residences) late into the night, then being roused by servants with “hair of the dog” hangover remedies or lines of something, shoved under a brief shower, and forced mumbling into their ill-fitting clothes. (Of course K wears wigs, she can’t be bothered to comb her hair!) Then shoved grumbling into cars and driven to their meet-up spot. Neither looks like they GAF about anything, much less good grooming. They’d both make good vampires.

  17. Linney says:

The mixed messaging is laughable. On the one hand, Kate has a backbone of steel, she is the power behind the monarchy, the key to its future success, etc. On the other, she is a delicate little flower who got cancer because of “Sussex Stress.” The way this woman is constantly infantalized and then “embiggened” is ludicrous. To blame her (non-existent) cancer on Harry and Meghan is disgusting.

    • Kasztanka says:

You can pour whatever you like into such an empty pitcher without restriction—not only is there plenty of room, but it leaks like a sieve anyway.

    • MsIam says:

Remember all those articles that said the Queen was reassured that the monarchy would be in “safe hands” with William and Catherine? Yeah right. What a shit show. Both of them act like a couple of lunatics. Rage monster and fake cancer. One day, the real beans will spill like they always do and man, what a time that will be!

  18. anotherlily says:

I believe William isn’t particularly intelligent. I think he was originally intending to study at Edinburgh University which is a prestigious university and a recognised leader for History of Art. The normal requirements for applicants would be three A levels with at least one grade A and two grade B passes. Applicants are often given conditional acceptance on the basis of achieving these grades. I think William’s grades were below the acceptable level and too far below to merit any flexibility from Edinburgh University. The announcement that he would be taking a gap year and then going to St Andrew’s University came as a surprise. St Andrew’s is a relatively small university and probably welcomed the prestige of having Prince William as a student.

In the past UK royal princes have been accepted at university without being required to meet the usual standards. They usually did not take a full course of study and did not take exams. When Prince Charles was admitted to Cambridge his A levels results were not known and there was speculation that he wouldn’t take the final exams. He was awarded a 2:2 BA degree , which is an average result. It’s often claimed that he was the first UK prince to be awarded a university degree but this isn’t true. Prince Richard of Gloucester studied at Cambridge and gained a BA degree in 1966, four years before Charles. He then returned for further studies and practical work and gained a Diploma in Architecture. He worked as an Architect until, following the death of his older brother, he became the Duke of Gloucester and one of the ‘working royals’.

    • Kasztanka says:

Why do you think they’ve made Harry out to be the resident idiot? Because someone had to get what William had in abundance 🙂 You only have to listen to what each of them says and there’s no doubt who’s who. It’s William who’s the idiot. He’s as dumb as a brick and bloody lazy to boot. He never bothered to learn anything. Because he neither felt the need to – why should he, he’s going to be king, he’s a bit of a blockhead – nor did he have to. A retired teacher from Eton recounted that, before marks were issued, there was always a phone call from the Palace asking for William’s marks to be boosted, because ‘it wouldn’t do for the future king to have the worst marks in the school’.
Whether at Eton, at university, in the army, on his pilot training course or with the ambulance service, he’d turn up a few times and then lose interest. He preferred to party, and they gave him his diploma anyway. Middleton tagged along, as a gold-digger and a stalker glued to William’s side, and she got her diploma on the cheap
Because she neither worked for it nor deserved it – you can tell as soon as she opens her mouth. She’s even more stupid than William, which seems hard to believe. Both of them are a disgrace to that university, a shame on its authorities, and an insult to other hard-working and talented students.
In the palace guard’ under Aunt Anna’s command, out of the compulsory few months, he spent a total of about two weeks (more on paper), and even then he managed to lose his rifle and fly off with his mates in a helicopter for a beer.
He never obtained a pilot’s license never actually became a pilot; as his training instructor said, did not fly the required hours. In air ambulanse services h”e was according to the schedule, he was supposed to be at work, but only turned up a few times. Etc., etc.
And now he’s boasting about climbing, crawling on all fours across the grass in a harness, then rotating the photo to a vertical orientation, or competing with Harry at surfing, passing off another surfer in the distance as himself.
Or referring to himself as a veteran because he was at a military training ground in Estonia, 2,000 km from the front lines in Ukraine. There’s looooot more of this sort of thing.
He’s a total loser with an ego blown up like a balloon.

      • tongdes says:

Now, William has correctly been exposed for his lack of commitment to royal duties during his time as a rescue pilot, as well as myriad other things, but he was a fully qualified pilot for military and civilian helicopters. Harry also qualified as a military helicopter pilot and his detractors try and claim that he did not. Both, a matter of record. It is insulting to our RAF and all of it’s service members, past and present, to be suspected of falsifying qualifications.

      • Puff Updater says:

I very much enjoy your commentary Kasztanka, you always give us good deets! Can’t the general UK population see what a total lunkhead William is and always has been? As a fan of Harry’s I’m naturally prejudiced against him, but objectively his faults seem so glaring from the US, even through the fog of spin doctors. Poor GB, they are in for a bumpy ride.
