These are photos from the January cover shoot for Harper’s Bazaar UK, with cover girl Emily Blunt. The photos are amazing – Blunt is an interesting model, and the clothes… well, they’re fantastic. This blue dress is Tom Ford – from his new womenswear collection, his first in years. They profiled Ford and the collection in this Bazaar issue, just as American Vogue did in their December issue – seriously, Ford’s new collection is GORGEOUS. It’s glamorous and high-fashion and yet… you could see so many women wearing this stuff. I love Tom Ford. Anyway, here are some excerpts from Emily’s interview:
Fans of The Devil Wears Prada love to hate Emily Blunt‘s neurotic, die-for-fashion character; but in real life, the self-deprecating star is far from high-strung when it comes to her personal style.
“I never have any idea [about what I’m wearing],” she confesses to Harper’s Bazaar UK. “I’ll look at several things and make a choice. But I’m much more excited by fashion than I was before The Devil Wears Prada.”
In fact, working with stylist and designer Patricia Field on that movie changed her perception: “I could finally see how artistic and an extension of someone’s personality fashion can be.”
Emily graces the magazine’s January issue, resplendent in a blue fringed Tom Ford dress, among a host of 70s glamour-inspired outfits by Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent. No one would ever guess from the gorgeous multi-page spread that looking good didn’t always come naturally for the English beauty.
“I used to look like a deer in headlights on the red carpet,” the straight-talking actress admits. “You step out of the car and it’s bedlam. Everyone’s got crazy eyes. Now, I have a martini before I leave – just to take the edge off it.”
With two huge movies (Gulliver’s Travels and The Adjustment Bureau) to promote, we’re sure the newlywed will look radiant on the red carpet.

Yeah, what kills me about Emily Blunt is that she could be the next Fashion Girl on every red carpet – she’s beautiful, her body is amazing, she’s very, very talented, so she works all the time and has a million red carpets to walk – why not really put the effort into being a fashion girl? Granted, she probably has better stuff to do with her time. But it’s a shame. The void left by someone like Blunt on the red carpet is filled with vapid no-talent fashion girls like Jessica Alba.

Love the orange one, the others not so much.
wow,i must say she looks hot, whats up?with the attack on jessica abla,i also think she is hot!
So beautiful!
She looks stunning in these pics and every time I see her on the red carpet she looks really lovely & put together.
Would be better if she wasn’t making the same face in every picture.
The blue is to die for…
I agree Laura. She has the same face in every picture. It got old very quickly.
the fashion I adore
the model… I agree with Laura… same face in every pic, meh
ah-mazing.
ME WANT COOKIES!
That is what I think of when I see that blue dress. She is pretty though, I give her that.
I think she’s pretty and I like the pics…except for the Chubaka outfits.
Edit: @Samantha…LMAO!
These photos are amazing- fashion is gorgeous.
The thing that I think makes Blunt (heh heh) so great is that when she’s acting in a movie, I’m not watching her thinking, ‘jesus, she’s gorgeous!’
She’s just her character, which is acting, which people like Jessica Alba don’t do.
I would sell my first born for that green and blue number.
Ok, maybe not. But it is freaking gorgeous on her. She is stunning. And her and hubby make a great couple 🙂
The last time I was splayed out on a rock I looked just like that
i like the orange one, she looks hot.
the dress with long hair is scary!
amazing dresses, emily is extremely beautiful and her husband is amazing too! 🙂
@caramia —
Thank you. My day just got 15x better.
🙂
I think the colors are spectacular. I love Tom Ford!
Tom Ford has done nothing but disappoint me since he left Gucci and YSL, which is criminal in that he was once so talented he was able to take two major fashion houses and bring them back from the brink of extinction. I don’t know whether it is hubris, lack of the support of a design team or artist’s block, but I feel his eponymous accessory and now couture lines are uninspired, cheap-looking rubbish.
These just look like typical “fashion” shots. It could be any girl in that dress. They missed out bigtime cos they could’ve been playing up the beauty that she really has.
I agree entirely with those who have pointed out that the woman’s expression never changes.
@Samantha – I’d actually immediately thought of Grover xD
I’m not really a fan of this sort of fashion. I must have something personal against fringe.
She’s amazing. And she looks fantastic.
Please this girl is average in every way any big time college cheerleader squad has females with this chick’s looks; another meh actress playing the poseur; Sophia Loren on her worst day makes these wannabees look like the high school girls they really are; you want real fashion photog go on youtube type in Vogue covers/fashions 1940s-1970s, start from there – the photos and the women, mostly unknown mannequins, not that awful term “supermodel”, are beautiful and glamorous in an understated reserved way todays actresses/models/celebutards can never be – my have standards fallen.
She cant model
I think she looks great here 😀
She’s beautiful and a great actress. I’m a fan.
The King is dead! (Alexander McQueen)
Long live the King! (Tom Ford)
Holy shit, they skinned Grover.
These dresses look like they were designed by Dr. Seuss.
