Here are some photos of Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince Harry at last night’s Business in the Community’s National Gala Dinner & Awards, which was held at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Considering this is a “gala” is it weird that all of them are just wearing normal suits? I guess it wasn’t a black-tie kind of gala. As for those suits… ever since Idris Elba raved about how sharp Charles looks in his suits, I can’t get it out of my head (Idris totally referred to Charles as “gangster”). Charles does look great in that double-breasted suit. It fits perfectly and he looks like money. Harry and William look nice too. William looks relieved that he’s not on bum-flash watch and that Duchess Kate sat this one out. As for Harry, he is so… handsome. Sigh…
A few notes about Charles. One, over the weekend The Daily Mail had a funny little gossip item about Charles staying in his late grandmother’s Scottish castle, the Castle of Mey. The Queen Mum left it to Charles in her will, and if I remember correctly, he did some renovations and then turned it into a money-maker, renting it out for large parties and such. Apparently, he charges £50,000 a weekend for tourists (I assume that’s to rent out the whole castle). So, funny story: when Charles wanted to stay at the Castle of Mey recently, the manager totally charged him. It was a discounted rate of £2,000 a week, provided that he’s looked after by his own staff. Sounds like Charles hires people who run a tight ship.
Second Charles story – Charles churned up some controversy several months ago when there were some badly flooded areas in Somerset Levels. He was critical of the government’s emergency services and the lack of resources being given to a devastated community, and he actually did draw enough attention to the problem, so much so that the government sprang into action. Well, Charles returned to the area this week and he was greeted like some kind of folk hero. When asked why he had spoken so bluntly months beforehand, Charles said: “Well I had to do something. It runs in the family. It’s in my blood.” You can read more about it here.

I love that “well I had to do something” line. My grandfather had always been the kind of man that wouldn’t lie down for anything he saw to be unjust, or anything that tread on the ‘little guys’. He made a lot of enemies, and a lot of friends during his military, town counsel, and social services careers because he’d never just not say something. I love when people have the guts to stand up for something they believe in – there’s not nearly enough of it in the world. Say what you will about Charles, but he does have some very positive qualities.
Yeah he’s better than William
But I’m seriously wondering if Charles will ever see the throne.
I’m really not sure. I hope he does, really. I don’t think Will’s is anywhere near ready.
Fun Fact: Two of our best friends are getting married this weekend – Will and Kait. I still find it hilarious.
I think Will feels like doesn’t have to get ready until Charles takes the throne. Which isn’t very smart. Charles is getting old, the throne could pass from the queen to Will (not wishing anything bad on Charles, it’s just a real possibility).
I hope your friend didn’t have to wait as long for her ring lol
I think Charles has more freedom as POW and he relishes that. I don’t see him rubbing his hands together hoping for his mother’s demise. When that time comes, he’ll need to stifle his opinions and act as impartial counselor. He’s accomplished more good than any other POW in history, which makes him a very difficult act for William to follow.
One of William’s many problems is that he has no drive or ambition to improve the world. He just wants a luxurious, carefree life like his wealthy friends – with a bit of helicopters thrown in for grins when he feels like showing up. Buckling down and doing something to help the people of the UK? William isn’t interested.
That first pic of him made me feel sorry for him. Let him be king already!
….but then HM will be dead!!! 🙁
@LAK: Who is Harry’s valet? Cause he needs a trim. William actually looks better than Harry in those pics (the horror). Nice clean-cut with the beard and mustache ala the North / South Pole (can’t remember which & too lazy to google), he’d be tip-top. Okay. Maybe with a little muscle mass? Hmm . . .
Thanks.
Harry’s shirt and tie combo is so dated. I’m surprised, he usually looks delicious ask dressed up.
His suit is too big. Maybe he lost it.
Borrowed an old one from dad? lol
Don’t care, he still looks crazy hot to me!
Hot Ginge has his fat man pants on again. He needs a girlfriend so she can dress him properly.
Just posted this question/statement for @LAK:

The tie is Harry’s regimental Blues and Royals tie.
Both William and Harry wear the hell out of their suits as we’ve seen them in almost nothing else. I think both suits look dated and boring (minus Harry’s military tie since this was military focused event). Not to mention William’s trousers are a tad too short.
Charles really grew on me with all of his activities, he has always been a great environment supporter, long before it was a thing.
Agreed – He really doesn’t get enough credit.
I think Charles looks his best in suits, as opposed to casual clothes, but I disagree with Idris. Charles’ legs are too short. He doesn’t look as elegant as he would with longer legs, not that he can help it. Just sayin.
Maybe Idris meant he does the best with what he’s got. 🙂
Yeah, I’m feeling sort of mean for saying that. He looks very nice and it’s good that he’s so involved.
And he can’t wear 6″ heels like KM to hide the little legs. It isn’t always something people notice – proportions – until you cannot help it. Go check out Channing Tatum for another example of Yosemite Sam legs.
Yosemite Sam legs. LOL. Stop it. I almost choked from laughing so hard.
Charles . . . love em. His voice. Listen to his voice. Oooh. Hot flash. Hot flash. And look at pic’s of him as he kisses a woman’s hand.

I can only imagine what’s going through Camilli’s head on the 2nd pic. LOL>
Prince Charles excells in kissing the hands of ladies with elegance and panache 😉
Little legs, once seen, cannot be unseen

And yes, Charles is very chivalrous with the hand kissing!
I’m liking Charles more and more. Apparently he bought an old house in Scotland, refurbed it, hired local people to do it, including a 23 year old kid who started in the kitchen and is now a front house butler, and rents that out too. I think he starts Trusts to keep the places running and the Trust rents the place out to help meet operating costs. It was a great story. Dumfries House, that’s was the name of it.
The cynic in me says Charles is on a great PR run, but he still had to actually do it, right? 🙂
Even if he’s only pulling off good PR, that still puts him head and shoulders above his son and heir.
Bingo Faye. Diana would be so disappointed in her son.
Blu,
I remember that story but not many of the details. There was a national heritage element to the story, and Charles did a great service by stepping in to save and restore the house.
As I recall, he put a huge wadge of his own charitable trust’s cash in, plus had to personally broker the loans for the rest. It’s aiming to be a second Poundbury. There was a documentary about it. Hang on….

Here you go. With apologies for Alan Titchmarsh.

I know that pic – it is priceless! Love it.

The Queen is to be feared and respected!

I am Lizzie, mother of Corgis, wearer of Pastels.
My dad looks like a cross between Prince Charles and Jerry Seinfield. I’m just saying I think of my dad very time I see either of them.
Charles look a bit like my dad too.
Dare I say William is the best dressed out of the three? I think Harry’s suit is too big. I have a mental block against double-breasted suits, so Charles was never in the running.
100% Agree. Charles is a very close second, but I’m leaning towards William because his stature carries a suit very well. I like tall men. For me, Harry is hit or miss in a suit. I always prefer him in the collared shirt and slacks combo like in Brazil.
For some unexplained reason, Harry doesn’t pay attention to his civilian sartorial splendour. His suits are always terrible and the trousers always too big. He tends to look better in uniform, but those are always better tailored to fit perfectly.
@LAK – Agreed. Harry looks better in his casual clothes, uniforms, and polo gear (of course). I’m not very well versed in men’s suits, but do skinny legs make suit pants look loose/too big? I ask because Harry seems to have what I call “chicken legs”. His calves are small.
HH : skinny legs should look fabulous in a tailored suit. it’s big legs that look bad. Actually, big men on the whole look terrible in suits even if they are tailored. compare Hiddleston vs Chris Helmsworth in suits.
Harry doesn’t seem to care for his suits and so we get these terrible suits. He’s never put back all the weight he lost during that South Pole challenge, the suits are still hanging off him.
@LAK – Well clearly I know less than I thought because I think Chris Hemsworth looks amazing in a suit. I just like my men meaty, so I’m ridiculously biased. 🙂
Thinking about Harry’s weight gain and now loss it now makes more about his suits being loose. I forgot about that.
Usually a double breasted suit can make a man Charles’s age look…paunchy, but he pulls it off. I agree, however, with the commenter who said his legs are too short. If his legs were just three inches longer, he’d look absolutely amazing in a suit. But he’s still not bad, especially for a guy in his (late? mid?) 60s.
It’s rare to see William in a nicer suit with a more flattering fit than Harry. I wonder what happened there?
I was just in Frankfurt and all the men are wearing suit pants that are a bit more tightly fitted than is traditional. (I jokingly named them tuckenshtuffenhosen.) William’s pants look a bit along these lines. Very nice.
LOL!!!
Don’t get the part about Charles looking like a gangster….was he wearing a pinstriped suit?
It’s an expression. all my male friends use it as a compliment rather than the literal meaning.
Thanks!!
I know they have a tailor, but I’d love to see Harry in Tom Ford.
I wonder how that tailor got the job. Their suits almost never fits them nicely.
I’d love to see both men in Tom Ford. They’ve got the height and those polo bodies…….
Harry looks like he just rolled out of the nearest brothel but I dare say that William looks very well put together. Very polished. Hot even?
*Fluffs hair*
Hey, Big Willy.
Yeah, Will is the sharpest here.
Entitled brat. Charles, I mean.
Rain meet parade.
Lmao!
Looking at these pics, I can’t believe anyone questions that Harry is Charles’ son. They have the exact same eyes and nose.
To be fair they questioned it years and years ago, but i agree.
