Tom Cruise reportedly hasn’t seen daughter Suri Cruise in more than 800 days

FFN_Cruise_Tom_RM_110415_51898073

For years now, there have been stories about how infrequently Tom Cruise sees or speaks to his youngest child, daughter Suri Cruise. Basically, since Katie Holmes ghosted Cruise back in 2012, Tom has barely spent any time with Suri. You could say that he works a lot, which is true. You could say that Katie and Tom hammered out a hardcore divorce and custodial agreement, which would also be true. But Katie did leave the door open for Tom to spend time with Suri, but he just… hasn’t. And now the National Enquirer claims that Tom hasn’t seen Suri in 800 days. Sigh…

Tom Cruise is believed to have not seen his daughter Suri for around 800 days. According to a new report from the US, the 53-year-old actor has not spent time with his nine-year-old daughter for over two years – or 26 months – due to his involvement in controversial religion Scientology.

The National Enquirer has claimed that the Top Gun star has kept his distance from his child with ex-wife Katie Holmes, and that he apparently is lacking in interest in being part of her life. A source told the publication: ‘He doesn’t seem interested in being part of Suri’s day-to-day life. Katie does her best to be a hands-on mum but there’s no replacing her father. He hasn’t been seen in public with his daughter in over two long years – that’s a fifth of her lifetime.’

He has not been pictured with his little girl for well over two years, despite the fact he was frequently photographed with her along with Katie when they were still married. It’s thought that the long time between visits is down to Katie, 36, opposing Tom’s religion, and that members of the Church of Scientology want him to keep his distance from the negativity. A former member of Scientology, Marc Headley, also told the publication that his absence from his daughter’s life could have been down to Tom’s concerns over Katie’s family bad-mouthing the religion, of which he is the most famous member.

‘It’s possible Tom won’t see Suri because he thinks Katie and her family are speaking negatively about him and Scientology,’ he explained.

Tom’s representatives have previously denied such allegations, stating that he has seen Suri, but away from the public eye and behind closed doors. However, it’s also believed that the Oscar-nominated actor has been too busy with his work commitments to pencil in the time with her. The Hollywood star has been kept immensely busy in recent years as he has worked on several movies almost back-to-back: at present he is working on Jack Reacher: Never Go Back in New Orleans.

[From The Daily Mail]

I think it’s possible Tom does see Suri but he just doesn’t publicize it or go on pap strolls. I would imagine that if he does see her, there’s a huge production involving multiple third-parties organizing even the briefest of visits in a “neutral” area, like a hotel. It’s also possible that he speaks to Suri on the phone, that he sends her gifts, that they’re still in each other’s lives in some limited capacity. Of course, the simplest explanation may be true too: that Tom has edited Katie and Suri out of his life completely and that absence is completely related to Scientology. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Katie and Suri are both “Suppressives” in Tom’s world.

Speaking of Tom’s crazy schedule, THR reported this week that Tom is “in talks” to head the reboot of The Mummy franchise. Meaning, Tom would play the Brandon Frasier lead role and they would get a whole new cast to support him? If it’s happening, it’s happening soon – they want to start filming in February. I’ve never seen a Mummy film from start to finish, so I have no feelings about this. Are these beloved characters? Eh. I don’t really care if Tom takes over the role, but surely they could find someone else, you know? Someone without Tom’s baggage.

  1. PHD Gossip says:

Toms face looks like he just emerged from a multitude of cosmetic procedures. It’s pink and raw. He looks almost feminine.

    • Esmom says:

Yes, that photo is gross. As for Tom and Suri, I have no idea what to believe. Seems like anything is possible when Co$ is in the mix.

    • minx says:

I would say he definitely looks feminine. Must have gotten a peel or something.
And he tries to be the macho action guy, blech.

      • Ennie says:

His eyebrows are struggling to live a little.
I thought that his superpowers included the power to keep his face young and fresh? hahaha who am I kidding he pays good money to his plastic surgeon, for sure.

  2. Carmen says:

Father of the year, that one.

Suri’s white dress is lovely. Wonder where Katie got it?

    • original kay says:

I am sure Suri’s is much more expensive, but I got similar for my daughter just at Old Navy. usually around 20 dollars.

      • GingerCrunch says:

I wish they would make Old Navy kids clothes in adult sizes. So flippin’ cute! J Crew too.

      • TrustMOnThis says:

It could very well be the old navy dress. She wears gap kids and even target along with designer stuff. (I’m an unapologetic fan of Suri’s style.)

    • enuff said says:

She’s a lovely little girl…so blessed to be spared from the clutches of CO$…thanks to her clever mother!

  3. Louise177 says:

It’s funny that when Tom and Katie were married everybody said that Katie should leave and never allow him to see Suri. Now that it’s a possibility he’s still getting attacked. Tom probably does see her. Just because it’s not on Twitter or Facebook doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. I do believe that it’s not very often, just a few days a month with the occasional phone call.

    • jamie says:

Wasn’t he much more private regarding his older kids with Nicole? Like why isn’t it more possible that it’s just not heavily publicized.

      • Liv says:

Because he actively called the paps before to doucment his relationship with her? No wonder that people think he’s absent now.

      • Hazel says:

The older kids with Nicole are Scientologists. They went with their father.

    • minx says:

Why should people give him the benefit of the doubt because of that insane cult?

    • Samtha says:

Right after the divorce, Tom made sure everyone saw him with Suri. Everything was papped. That’s why it seems so weird that they haven’t been seen together at all for so long.

    • Deeana says:

It is pretty clearly not the case that Cruise is seeing his daughter “a few days a month”.

Of COURSE he is not seeing her because of his association with the Church of Scientology. It is the same reason he demonized Nichole Kidman to their two adopted children.

Scientology has very strong rules against associating with ANYONE who is not “one of them”. They don’t care if it is your daughter, your sister, your mother, or your best friend.

      Read Leah Remini’s book.

  4. Ninks says:

I believe he hasn’t seen her. There’s been so many stories and rumours that he hasn’t seen her, and it makes him look so bad, that I feel if he was with her, that somehow pictures would ‘leak’. It’s not to say he doesn’t have any contact, maybe he does. But yeah, I get the feeling that Katie and Suri are considered SPs by his church and he as completely cut them out of his life.

    • Nic919 says:

This is just like how Nicole Kidman hasn’t been able to see her adopted kids. She has been branded a suppressive person and there is nothing she can do to make them see her. Suri is the same to Tom and as number two of the church it would look back to see an SP. He buys into this garbage, so for him avoiding an SP is more important than seeing his daughter.

      • lisa2 says:

Sadly I don’t think he has seen her. He may talk to her on the phone but no I don’t think he has seen her.. I think manly because when they got divorce Tom made a point of showing the world that he would still be in her life. Then I firmly believe that the COS got a lot of complaints from the membership. That there seemed to be different rules for Tom than the other members. From what I see separating from people that have left the church is a big thing. Parents, children and other family members do this all the time. So how would it look if Tom Cruise was afford the privilege of being seen so publicly with his daughter and other members could not. It could create a lot of problems.

Tom is a strange duck. If he wanted to stop these stores a couple of pictures of he and Suri out and about would have done so. We have see that because to me he doesn’t have a visible relationship with his daughter. And not a good one it seems now with his older children either. Haven’t seen him with any of them.

I feel bad for her because at some point she will feel abandoned. And Katie nor anyone else will be able to stop her from feeling that.

      • Red says:

Its highly unlikely that Suri was declared SP. Even Leah Remini has said as much. Katie however is definitely an SP and as per the rules you dont just shun SPs but people closely affiliated to SPs. Thats why Kristie Alley stopped talking to her old DWTS buddies when they became friendly with Leah. This actually adds a layer of sinister to this mess when you think about it. A 9 year old is basically being punished for living with her mother.

      • msw says:

Scientology doesn’t think families matter, and they think children are just adults in little bodies. They also say if something bad happens to you, like being abandoned by your dad, you did something to deserve it. They don’t give a crap about how it would affect Suri. I don’t see why Tom, who genuinely believes all this BS, would feel any different.

      • Belle Epoch says:

Agree with LISA2. Siri will wonder what she did wrong, and why her father abandoned her. She may have trouble trusting men later. She went from being the jewel in his crown to the worst of the worst. Scibots are sick fools.

      • PamelaJudy says:

I’m no fan of Nicole Kidman but nothing irritates me more than the constant referral to Bella and Connor as their “adopted” children. She is their mother. He is their father. They are Tom and Nicole’s children, regardless of biology or SPs or whatnot.

        Rant over.

      • lisa2 says:

        @Pamela.

        ITAWY..
the same stuff happens to Angelina and Brad. Every article has to divide their children into 2 groups.. Adopted and Biological. But nobody has problems with it. It is gross and offensive.

    • lucy2 says:

I agree he’s cut them out of his life, and if he did see her, there would be photos. He’s far too controlling about his image. Remember he sued a tabloid for a similar story a while back and it blew up in his face?

      • Kori says:

Yes he had to testify under oath and revealed that, at that point, he hadn’t seen Suri in person in 110 days.

    • Snappyfish says:

Since he documented everything with the Katie relationship & then VF cover after Suri’s birth & always photos of him carrying this child, I believe he hasn’t seen her. If he was I think we would see “candid” shots with him looking annoyed at the photogs.

Being King is v v strong with him & his cult allows him to be the crown prince. That is what he cares about

    • Belle says:

I agree. Cut that guy and he bleeds the Scientology kool-aid. I’m sure since Suri is no longer part of the cult, she’s considered to be an SP along with Katie. Which means they are both persona non grata in Tom’s world.

  5. Marianne says:

I generally don’t mind a re-boot if its a film IF its something warranted. Like, if it desperately could benefit from updated technology or if it wasn’t a big success the first time round and they have a shot to actually make it good. But remaking The Mummy just makes me role my eyes. It hasn’t even be 10 years since the first one came out. And it was fairly popular since it was able to spawn 2 sequels and a spinoff movie. And it also doesn’t make sense to cast Tom Cruise as he is too old to play a guy in his 30s. I’m sorry, but this one big unnecessary remake. Is Hollywood honestly that out of ideas?

EDIT : It actually has been more than 10 years…whoops. Like 16.

    • Jenn says:

I enjoy The Mummy movies, just watched the second one on tv last night, lol, but I can’t see Tom Cruise in the lead role. I hated Maria Bello as Evie, too, and I really like her usually!

      • cr says:

Bello was in the third movie, back in 2008. That was bad. Much worse than even the first sequel. The first Brendan Fraser Mummy, in 1999, was stupid, but fun.
But Universal is apparently rebooting all their monster movies, they released the crappy Dracula origin story last year.
So, we’ll be stuck with monster movie reboots, apparently.
And Cruise as the lead? No.

    • Jackson says:

I seriously think they are out of ideas. Ugh.

    • LAK says:

You do realise that the Brendan Fraser franchise was the 3rd (Yes! Third!!) outing of ‘THE MUMMY’ franchise, don’t you?

Original franchise was in 1932-1955, starring Boris Karloff in the first film. This franchise has 6 films in total.

The franchise was remade in 1959 – 1971 starring Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee. This franchise had 4 films in total

Once again the franchise was dusted off in 1999-2008 starring Brendan Fraser. 4 films and 3 video games. Btw, i’m including SCORPION KING spin off franchise.

Tom Cruise’s remake will be the 4th outing of the story with possibility of turning it into a franchise if it’s successful.

Personally, I love the first film in each franchise. They set up their respective franchises very well, but the sequels in the franchises are rubbish. As is typical of most franchises.

The first MUMMY film, starring Boris Karloff is still the scariest one of them all.

      • mimif says:

        CROQUEMFRANCHISE!

      • Hazel says:

And didn’t Abbott and Costello ‘meet’ The Mummy?

      • LAK says:

Hazel: Yes, Abbott and Costello’s version was the last film in the first franchise. Came out in 1955.

With regards remakes, sometimes they are a good idea, and sometimes they are so badly done that it kills the original film eg THE WOMEN. 1930s original is pretty perfect, 1956 remake is adequate and the third remake in 2008 should be burned – Every single copy that exists!!!

Near perfect remake is THE DEPARTED. One could argue that the original HongKong series INFERNAL AFFAIRS didn’t need a remake since it’s also nearly perfect, but Scorcese made such a good adaptation that it works as a stand alone – no need to reference the original – film.

The most hilarious remake i’ve come across is a Bollywood version of OLD BOY. Starring Sanjay Dutt. It’s so bad that it’s actually good. The Hollywood remake by Spike Lee was terrible.

    • Hazel says:

The first mummy movie came out in the 1930s, with Boris Karloff as The Mummy. That was the best, as far as I’m concerned. It’s been made & re-made ever since. There’s little that is original in Hollywood.
Just saw LAK’s comment above. Totally agree.

    • knower says:

reboots, remakes, prequels, sequels, and superhero tentpoles.

this is what happens when hollywood runs out of ideas.

and it won’t change, unless attendance goes down. if they get you in the theatres, they’ve already got your money.

    • Bob says:

This sounds like a joke but Universal is trying to make a monsters franchise like the avengers, where dracula, bride of Frankenstein, the mummy all team up. They want jolie to be Bride of Frankenstein

  6. minx says:

If he saw her he would make a big production out if it, because he’s all about PR.
I would bet on the $cientology aspect–he is in so deep with them that his own kid is a “suppressed person.”

    • kai says:

I agree. The way he used to parade the poor kid around – I don’t believe he would suddenly be so “private”. The Scientology/SP stuff is easier to believe.

  7. GoodNamesAllTaken says:

He’s such a horrible person, so I’m not surprised that he’s a horrible father. I don’t understand how he still has a career. There is nothing appealing about that cheesy, brain-washed fake to me. Nothing.

    • Mimz says:

I also think he is horrible, and I can never ever see him again as an attractive person or nice person after all the horrible stories about him surfacing.
He does have a career because he’s committed to his work, I can hate on the guy but I can acknowledge he works his ass off. He can’t give us authenticity IRL but he can do it by the way he really wants to be an action stars for as many years as he can. And he’s good at it.
I don’t really watch his movies, last one I watched was the one with Cameron Diaz and it was Eh. It was fine. But not great. But I understand why action movie fans would still want to go watch his movies.

    • Tate says:

Yeah, I don’t get how he still has a career. Him being horrible is a not so well kept secret these days.

  8. Mich says:

Sometimes, Dad is just not a good guy.

Given what he did to his older children, I’m all in favor of him staying away from this one.

    • Jackson says:

      Yep.

    • Birdix says:

My dad disappeared when I was the same age Suri was and didn’t resurface for 30 years. It took me a while to get over it. When he finally resurfaced I realized I had been better off without him. It takes a certain kind of person, barring extraordinary circumstances, to walk away from a kid you’ve been close to for that many years.

      • Nancy says:

Birdix, it seems you have been blessed with a wise mind and forgiving heart. The only one who lost anything in this situation is your father. You are the winner 🙂

  9. Bee says:

Suri is probably better off this way.

    • McLori says:

      ^^^This!

    • Cindy says:

She really is better off. Lots and and lots of dads (and moms too) go MIA and as long as there is someone to take their place, it will be okay. In particular, when you are talking about scary, mentally disturbed fathers (as I believe tom is), gone is the best place for them. And yes I speak from experience. Suri has Katie, and while it is only a hunch, she a seems to be a very healthy, loving mom. Suri will be fine, IMO. Lots of adults are not cut out to be parents. It’s a sad fact of life. And lots of kids don’t even have *one* healthy parent. Tom Cruise scares me. Who in the hell would want that nut job for a father?

    • Nicolette says:

I think so too. Just because someone is family, even a parental figure, doesn’t mean they can’t be toxic to someone’s life and it’s best to not be around them. For all his whacky beliefs and being some sort of Grand Poobah at his cult it’s probably best for her to not be around him. Sad because he is her father and his daughter should mean more to him.

  10. Word says:

Choosing a hokey cult over your daughter. I just had a glimpse into Tom’s future and it’s sad..sad sad….

    • Azurea says:

“Hokey” sure ain’t the word to describe Scientology, after all the damage it’s done to millions people. Malevolent, at the very least!

  11. Eleonor says:

I am going to say something very nasty: in an ideal world all of us would have the right to amazing parents, but in reality, sometimese, we end up with the crappy ones. I think for Suri is better to stay away from her dad and all his scientolo-related crazyness. Period.
Sometimes a caring loving mother and her family is enough.

    • Tate says:

      I agree.

    • kri says:

Elenor-it’s not nasty. You are telling the truth. It’s just a sad truth.

    • Charlotte15 says:

I don’t think this comment is nasty, I think it’s sensible. You are correct but we don’t live in that ideal world and in the one we’re actually in, Suri is better off away from anything Co$ related. IMHO

    • Mrs. Darcy says:

      I don’t think it’s necessarily nasty. But I’m a crappy Dad girl!

It’s so hard to know what is the truth in the wacky world of Tom, but it does seem like he is incapable of separating Scientology/not placing it over and above the needs of his children. Quite how he managed to cut out Nicole Kidman from their children’s lives I will genuinely never know, because that whole thing went down weird.

I agree a caring mother and other family are more than enough to raise a child, if he really loved Suri he would put the Sci-bot craziness aside but it doesn’t seem like that’s ever going to happen.

      • Azurea says:

I’ll venture to say that someone so immersed in a cult, especially at the level he is,
is incapable of real love. Tom Cruise clearly has a personality disorder. Whatever he calls love, is not. It’s a cobbled together performance of what he has intuited love to be, from observing others. The cult is a function of, and bolsters, the disorder. There is no happy ending here. I truly hope Suri has nothing to do with her father. As she gets older, perhaps her mother will be able to explain, gradually, what ails him. People like him are pure poison.

      • antipodean says:

Azurea, you put this very succinctly, and I totally agree with what you said. A very sad fact that this child is so much better off without the nutty influence of her personality challenged father.
What I will never understand, and can never forgive, is Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher. Not in my universe, no siree, not happening, avoid like the plague. When I read those books I always see Jim Caviezel as Jack, perfection.

      • Azurea says:

Thanks. Sadly, I know this from personal experience. I had 2-yr relationship with a man who is a member of a political cult. He lives a seemingly ordinary life, but acts like this Trotskyist group with a world-wide membership of 2000 people KNOWS EVERYTHING & are going to produce a revolution & will be running things.
It took a while but I finally realized he has narcissistic personality disorder, and that his allegiance to this anachronistic group both gives him an excuse for his behaviour & bolsters it. SICK. There is nothing to be done but stay away from these types. Now, this was nothing on the scale of what Katie experienced….I really can’t imagine how bad it was for her. She is one strong person.

      • antipodean says:

Sorry you had to live with such a nutter, I guess they come in all stripes. Sounds like you are well rid, and hope you are happy and healthy now.

      • Azurea says:

Thanks, antipodean 😉 Thankfully, I didn’t live with him. It’s said that the narc has a false self, which is what he (or she) shows the world. It’s false because it’s made up. Sometimes the mask slips, & you see the sad, empty, needy thing that lives inside. The only time I spent more than 2 days in a row with him was on a vacation we took for a week. By the 4th day his personality started disappearing. It’s like there was nobody home. He needs to be fed constantly by people around him or he is nothing. Very strange. I can imagine Tom Cruise is the same, on an epic scale.

      • antipodean says:

Azurea, that was a very interesting glimpse into your take on the Narcissist personality. Talk about creepy, it gave me the chills. You are so lucky that you were able to spot it, and kicked him to the curb. I do hope that you are fully aware that it had nothing to do with you. I always maintain that, for all their problems, people are ultimately responsible for their own behaviour, and blaming others is just an easy excuse. I could imagine that with his immense wealth, and given profession, Tiny Tom is able to mask his NP for the most part. But when the mask slips, it is an awful thing to witness. And of course, he is enabled by the Sciensycophants.

      • Dangles says:

@Azurea: But most people have a mask that they show the world. People who show who they really are and say what they really think are usually encouraged to see a therapist.

      • Azurea says:

@Dangles…of course, but with healthy people there isn’t too much of a difference between the mask & the private person. With a malignant narcissist, there also comes an array of extremely tricky manipulative behaviour, all aimed at keeping the narc butressed & putting everyone around them on a lower level, so the narc can feel good about himself. i was impressed, for quite a while, that this man had so many decades-long friendships, & seemed to be a caring person. Over time it became glaringly clear that he thinks nobody else really knows how to do anything properly. He would disparage them ALL to me, behind their backs, and I’m sure he did the same to me. They also actually ENJOY inflicting emotional pain & confusion. I once read that to narcs, other people are just appliances. So true!

      • Azurea says:

Thanks, antipodean! I never felt like less of a person because of his behaviour, but it was maddening, confusing & hurtful all the same. The cognitive dissonance it creates is ghastly. Much of the time we were fine, then BLAM. I’ll tell you something, every time I sensed something was off about him, I was absolutely correct. I would not lie down & take it, and we had some epic arguments, but it started out so very subtle at first, so I would explain it away. I will never doubt my intuition again! Yes, his father really did a number on him….but like you say, ultimately we do have to take responsibilty for ourselves. This guy is really an island, for all his “friends” & accomplishments. And that relationship between Tom Cruise & Miscavige is a nightmare…two SERIOUS narcs manipulating each other all these years. You can be sure that inside themselves they are snivelling, lonely, empty shells.

    • Christin says:

People will serious substance abuse issues supposedly value the addiction over family. Substitute ‘beliefs’ in this case.

    • Ravensdaughter says:

Katie must be doing things right-Suri appears to be growing up to be a poised and lovely young woman. I realize that looks are deceiving; I’m being hopeful on this one.

    • Cindy says:

Eleonor- your comment isn’t nasty. It’s just the truth.

  12. LadyJane says:

He is an ego maniac to the zillionth degree who truly believes (as does his cult) that he is the reincarnation of god or something – and therefore Suri (his only blood descendant) must also some sort of ‘divine being’. So I don’t see how he could let her go unless he convinced himself Suri is not his. I know that is twisted, but he is twisted.

    • minx says:

The rumors could be true that Suri isn’t really his. That’s why he has let her go.

      • Jayna says:

He adored Suri. I’ve read articles by Scientologists that the child is considered an innocent so wouldn’t be shunned like Katie would. It’s so hard to believe he is so indoctrinated into this cult that he could just walk away or keep limited contact with his little girl. But, then again, there’s many things I never would have believed of Tom that are true.

Tom and Suri were always together because Katie traveled with Tom to his movie locations, so he was rarely separated from his little girl. There’s tons of photographs with him with her for her whole life. He obviously loved her very much. Now she rarely sees him and I bet her brother and sister dropped out of her life too. How confusing for Suri to have a daddy so involved in her life and then not.

      • Charlotte15 says:

@Jayna, but did he really love her? Or did he love the “family man” image that all of those photos represented? All of what you said is true but when it came down to it, it APPEARS that he’s chosen that cult over Suri so maybe it wasn’t her that he really loved at all in the first place. It seems he loved the type of PR he garnered during those years.

ETA: and yes, I can’t imagine how awful and confusing this has all been on Suri and I hope Katie takes her to a therapist if needed to try and sort things out for her and make sure she knows she is innocent in all this. I mean, she sees her father on magazine covers just when she walks down the street – it isn’t a topic that can really be avoided altogether. When she’s older I believe she will understand that her mother did what was best for her but it must be very tough right now.

      • Jaded says:

Yup. Just compare pictures of Suri and Tommy Davis and I think we know the rest of the story. And that’s why Katie managed to swing such a quick and quiet divorce because she’s got so much on Tom that it would ruin him if she blabbed.

He’s a sick, delusional megalomaniac whose only happiness is derived from living in his “movie world” and believing that being a top Scientologist has gifted him with super-human powers.

      • Sam says:

Jayna: it was basically confirmed that the impetus for the divorce was Tom’s desire to enroll Suri in the SeaOrg. Which, remember, is an organization that forces members to sign a billion-year contract, practices forced abortions, subjects the members to excessive work hours and slave wages, etc. The people who escape it tell horror stories about it. I’m not sure I could call that a loving father.

      • GingerCrunch says:

It really shows you how evil CO$ Is if very young children can be SP’s. And I’m sure Katie saw how Conor and what’s-her-face were turning out sans education and decided over her dead body. Suri has every advantage in the world. Hopefully she won’t be too scarred by having him as a dad.

      • MrsBPitt says:

@Charlotte15 – My first husband was that way. On a day to day basis, he barely interacted with our children. Would come home from work, and not even acknowledge them at times. But, if we were invited to a company party or a friend, or family party, he was THE Dad. Throwing the football, blah, blah, blah. My poor sons were like, “where is our real Dad, and can we exchange him for this one”….it was all an act, because he only cared about how he was perceived from the outside…my children are grown now, and they barely speak to their Dad…it’s sad, but he precipitated it, with his uncaring manner….kids aren’t stupid…

      • Red says:

Children of Suris age wouldnt be declared SPs, see Leah Reminis interviews. Suri isnt the SP, Katie is. The rules require that you distance from SPs and anybody who interracts with an SP. Remember when Kristie Alley ditched her DWTS pals because they were chummy with Leah? Nine year old Suri is basically being punished for not running away from her SP mother. This truth is a thousand times darker and evil than just “Suri is SP”!

      • GingerCrunch says:

        ^^^ ugh…

      • Hazel says:

Piffle. That kid looks like her dad.

      • antipodean says:

I agree Hazel, that child is pure Mapother, sadly for her, just ask Uncle William.

      • ruby says:

I thought the same thing. I see Tommy D more than Tom.

      • MD says:

minx says: “The rumors could be true that Suri isn’t really his. That’s why he has let her go.”

I have to take exception to this comment. Biological relation doesn’t always guarantee a close relationship. There are men who have loved, accepted and adopted (either legally or informally) children that are not their own. Whether Suri is biologically Tom Cruise’s child or not is irrelevant. If Cruise is a REAL man, he would accept the responsibility that comes with the title of “father”; he shouldn’t let some cult or a divorce affect his affection for Suri. However, as this latest report proves, Cruise is NOT a real man. He surely doesn’t act like a compassionate, balanced human. His treatment of Suri post-divorce is dishonorable towards HER. But with lame qualities like that, who needs him as a dad? I agree that Suri is better off without Cruise around. My hope for her is that she encounters mature, loving, responsible father figures during this early, formative part of her life; those who will help her to bloom and grow, not entrap her with fear and loathing.

      • puravidacostarica says:

I do not think that Suri looks one iota like Tom Cruise.

    • MD says:

Red is correct. Suri would be regarded as “PTS” (potential trouble source) due to her close relation to her”SP” (suppressive person) mother, Katie Holmes. Suri was too young (thus not deeply indoctrinated enough) to make the decision of choosing Scientology/Tom over Katie. If Suri were to grow up and decide to join the Sea Org, she would have to disconnect from her mom in order to be found a “fit” candidate for membership. Even if she were not to join the Sea Org or regular org staff, the issue of her ties with Katie would come up during auditing. It would be expected that she “handles” Katie before she could “spiritually” advance within Scientology.

This is the insidious nature of Scientology. The cult doesn’t just mess with your mind; it must destroy all other loyalties and cherished things in the process of exerting complete control. So the next time you hear someone say, “Scientology doesn’t affect me”…think again. It is likely someone you know who is involved (family, friends, co-worker/business associate, local politician, teacher, preacher, medical personnel, etc.). Like so many addictions, the problem isn’t restricted to affect just one person. The damage spreads like a debris field. It sickens me when I hear Scientologists talk about the importance of family while they practice disconnection (shunning), have multiple divorces, abandon their kids, swindle or lie to family members and so on. Tom Cruise is perpetuating the same poison that L Ron Hubbard initiated himself. Scientology is the most “out-2d” organization there is (i.e. counterproductive to the survival of healthy families & intimate relationships).

  13. Nancy says:

His mother is missing and he doesn’t see his daughter. Doesn’t add up for the control freak he appears to be.

  14. Sam says:

I can believe this. It’s common knowledge at this point that Katie divorced him largely over concerns that he was going to ship Suri off to the SeaOrg or otherwise really immerse her in the church. Katie has made a point of it to enroll her in a Catholic school in New York as well. Basically, she’s sending the signal loud and clear that Suri is not, and hopefully never will be, a Scientologist. And knowing what we know about the church, it makes sense that they’d advise Tom to simply let her go, as opposed to trying to work with Katie. Leah Remini did the same thing when she live-tweeted her daughter’s baptism. They’re sending a message to the church that the children are now beyond their grasp. I can see how Tom would simply choose to slowly disassociate himself from her.

  15. Honeybubble says:

Katie’s escape from that marriage was impressive, it was executed perfectly. She knew if she raised any suspicion by twisting as much as an eyeball the wrong way or any information of her plan leaked that she would lose her daughter to that pschyopath and his crazy cult. She literally ran for her daughters life. Imagine how pschyologically abusive and controlling her environment was to have that level of terror. Tom has everybody in his homes watched by church members on CCTV and reporting to him. That’s pschyotic. Rich, powerful, crazy people are the most dangerous of them all. Suri is well rid of him. She has a very strong mother keeping her protected and safe. Better no father than tyrant Tom.

    • Mata says:

I agree about Katie’s escape. Fortunately, her father was an attorney and able to help plan and execute her escape with Suri flawlessly. I can’t even imagine how much time was spent with secret meetings and planning. Her stress level during that time must have been through the roof.

    • Raquel says:

      totally agree

    • Liberty says:

      Absolutely this.

    • GingerCrunch says:

How great a movie would that be???? Maybe one day when they’re all dead and Scientology’s a thing of the past!

    • teacakes says:

I can’t agree more – Katie was a freaking ninja with that divorce, and it’s amazing when you consider how long she had to spend establishing the right conditions for her to get custody, all of it right under the nose of the Co$.

I may not think much of her as an actress/public persona, but she was a badass where it really mattered and I’ll always respect that.

    • Anna says:

Yes…we could all see it coming on her face–such sadness for so long–but not a word about it until it was done. You can tell that she is a forever-changed person from this ordeal. I just can’t imagine (though having grown up in fundamentalist boarding school, I actually do have some idea of the brainwashing that can go on in cults like that…)…

The other thing that seemed pretty horrible was all that talk (or maybe truth) of the “silent birth” where Katie was meant to not scream or make any sound while giving birth. I can’t imagine that her mother would have allowed her to go through that, but she was firmly under the Tom Cruise spell at that time. I feel like her face and demeanor changed a lot after giving birth, as if the horror of that and the realization of what it meant to be under his control to every detail of her existence finally sunk in…

I want to know more about Tommy Davis, though. I thought Suri looked so much like Katie, then like Tom, but when I see TD, oh my goodness, it’s striking. So…how could that be an advantage to Katie versus ammo for Tom in the divorce?

  16. swack says:

I do hope that if he is in her life he is in it consistently and not just a day or two here and there. He, in the long run, will be the one who suffers if he isn’t in her life.

    • Christin says:

Sometimes I wonder how he thinks his later years will play out, especially if illness/infirmity occur. Even the founder supposedly ended up being kept out of sight the last years of his life.

      • swack says:

I don’t know. My ex has cut himself out of my daughters’ lives. The oldest, up until recently, kept in touch. Now she won’t talk to him. He remarried and his other grandchildren (not his biological ones) are more important to him. Hope they take care of him in his old age, because his biological family won’t.

      • Christin says:

Tom has invested so much into his beliefs. I just wonder if he’s thought about how it will be, once he’s not bringing in the big bucks and/or becomes less than the picture of health. According to the GC documentary, the founder was whisked to a ranch and was basically kept out of sight until his death.

      • MD says:

The founder of Scientology–L. Ron Hubbard (LRH, for short)–wasn’t simply “kept out of sight” by his cult caretakers due to his infirmities. He CHOSE to hide because he was on the lam, running from the law. He was co-indicted for commandeering “Operation Snow White”, the Scientology project that was responsible for one of the biggest government infiltrations in the U.S. His wife, Mary Sue Hubbard, and ten other Scientologists were convicted and sent to prison. Based on reports of people who saw him later in life, he grew more crazy with paranoia and often looked dishevelled…not resembling the confident, charming man you see in the framed portrait images from Scientology org displays. He was old and not in the best of health towards the end. I agree that keeping his true rundown self out of public sight served to maintain the grandeur of his myth among Scientologists (the truth would’ve been disheartening). However, it’s not the only reason nor the primary one.

  17. Stels says:

The most disturbing part of these stories is all of the child abuse and neglect that is reported to take place in Scientology – a room of babies cared for only by one teen, long hours of physical labor, and undernourishment.

Why haven’t the LA County authorities done anything to stop this? The state Senators and Assembly members, along with local elected officials must be raking in the donations from CO$ members. It’s sick and outrageous that this abuse is allowed to take place.

  18. What's inside says:

I think there are some very deliberate choices made by both parents regarding Suri. As long as that child is loved and cared for, there is no need for anything more to be said by anyone.

  19. bobslaw says:

I sometimes wonder whether Suri was his biological daughter, and whether that makes it easier for this nutcase to cut her out of his life completely.

Reminds me of the quote attributed to Bella when she refers to her mom, Nicole, as being a “%&*#ing SP”.

    • Christin says:

The older she gets, the stronger the ‘other Tommy’ resemblance appears. Maybe that is mere coincidence.

      • Jaded says:

Totally agree. There’s something very fishy about how she was conceived. I still think it was a turkey baster pregnancy but Katie was fooled into thinking it was Tom’s swimmers. So the “other Tommy” is a pretty strong contender, and he’s conveniently disappeared from his big PR role with Co$ – apparently he and his wife are living in Austin, Texas and he’s a managing director at Colony Capital, one of the largest private equity real estate funds in the world.

      • Christin says:

He ended up disappearing into a pretty good life, it seems. Maybe there is a reason he is apparently being left alone (to keep a secret or two).

  20. Size Does Matter says:

Anybody think he would be capable of concealing his visits with his daughter from his church, and that’s why there are no pics? Or is he too far gone? Would the fact that he had to conceal it be an admission to himself that the church isn’t all it’s cracked up to be?

  21. The Original Mia says:

Suri is a suppressive. She can’t be exposed or indoctrinated into Scientology without Katie’s permission. Since Suri can’t be of his faith, he has to cut her out of his life. That’s just the way it is for the CoS. Sad for her, but in the long run, probably the best that could happen to her.

As for the THR story, I thought it was already denied by his people. I can’t see him in the Mummy anyway.

  22. Fan says:

I don’t blame him. All he needs to do is wait until Suri is grown. She will go to him.

  23. Raquel says:

This does seem the most likely:

“Of course, the simplest explanation may be true too: that Tom has edited Katie and Suri out of his life completely and that absence is completely related to Scientology. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Katie and Suri are both “Suppressives” in Tom’s world.”

given his treatment of Nicole and how the relation between church member and non-church member was severed, irrespective of the age of the children. They really don’t seem to care about children.. forced labour, disconnection etc.

I’d say Suri is lucky she doesn’t have to deal with Tom. It would be different if he left the church, but as it stands he is probably more of a danger than anything.

  24. Betsy says:

The Mummy is the stupid fun movie I can watch repeatedly, and have. A Tommy-led reboot wouldn’t make me cry or anything like the diappountment people had over the Jack Reacher thing, but it’s just stupid. The lead is supposed to be a youngish adventurer, not a middle aged man desperately clinging to his youth. Two favorite actors I would love to see in the role, however implausibly for their career trajectories: Eric Bana and Garrett Hedlund. Attractive. Fit. Not 53 years old.

  25. Sofia says:

After watching Going Clear I have nothing else to say about him other that he is just crazy!! I believe that he doesn’t see her, she is SP for that Xenu freak. I don’t understand how can that cult have such freedom in USA. I respect everyone right to believe in whatever a person wants to believe. But honestly that cult is not a religion!

Forgive my language, english is not my first language.

    • Christin says:

You expressed it perfectly. I do not view it as a religion, either. Beliefs perhaps, but not sure it is religion, other than qualifying for tax relief.

    • AmyB says:

I too never knew much about Scientology before watching Going Clear. After that, I did a lot of reading (Tony Ortega, Mike Rinder and Marty Rathburn’s blogs, Jason Beghe’s YouTube video etc.)….that “religion” is absolutely INSANE and Suri Cruise is way better off without her whack job father in her life!!! How David Miscavige is still not in jail bewilders me, but I think time is closing in on that destructive “religion”. Kudos for Leah Remini and Paul Haggis for coming forward (and so many others as well) to reveal the horrors behind this cult. Take away their tax exempt status so that organization will finally die the death it deserves!

  26. Carol says:

I’m hoping these reports are wrong and that he does see suri and talks to her on the phone. But it wouldn’t surprise if he didn’t. He has already demonstrated his allegiance to his religion/cult over his other children by allowing them to claim Nicole as an SP.

Also, why would the studio even consider TC for the Mummy role? He’s a little pudgy 50- but-thinks-he’s-20 yr old man with I’m guessing dwindling fan base. I think the studio is an SP.

    • Betti says:

Yes his fan base is dwindling , mostly because of CO$ and the same old same old type of movies he’s been putting out for years. He’s getting too old to play the handsome hero any more.

Wonder who his next ‘wife’ will be?

  27. Mela says:

I hope the Mummy rumors aren’t true. Tommygirl is way to old to be the lead adventurer, especially if they’re planning on making sequels later.

  28. Ryan says:

As someone who grew up without a dad, I hate to say it, but good for Suri. We’re better off without certain people in our lives.

  29. Barbara says:

    I believe they skype

    • Colette says:

You can’t hug through Skype 🙁

      • Barbara says:

I agree it is a poor second for a father. I only mention it because when my model granddaughter was working in South Korea for 6mths and we did skype. I didn’t miss her as much seeing her face regularly. It may satisfy him.

  30. Wentworth Miller says:

I believe it. Don’t misunderstand, I do think that he should absolutely have a relationship with his daughter, but why should he get special privileges of seeing Suri when other members of his cult aren’t allowed to have any contact with someone once they’re no longer affiliated with CoS?

    • Suki says:

He has gotten special privileges all along in CoS.
He’s second in command, after Miscavige, in my opinion.

  31. word says:

Well Suri isn’t a scientologist so doesn’t he have to distance himself from her as part of the rules of his religion? It’s probably better for her that she doesn’t see him much (or maybe she does and it’s just not pap’d???). But if he is THAT heavily involved in a religion that pushes people to cut off ties with family members who are not part of Scientology, Suri is better off with just her mom.

    • Wentworth Miller says:

Absolutely! And y would anyone want to be a part of an organization that promotes family separation? It’s disgusting. Wouldn’t that or shouldn’t it serve as a red flag to anyone with a little common sense

  32. msw says:

Scientology teaches that anyone, whether or not they are a child, will just drag you down if you aren’t supportive of the religion or even if you aren’t “up-tone” enough. They see no difference, philosophically, between adults and children. And they are don’t give a damn about families. They care about the church, and money for the church. Period. I absolutely believe this. As Scientology has demonstrated over and over again, they really are that shallow.

  33. lunchcoma says:

I was initially willing to give him a break and assume he was seeing her quietly, but as time goes on, I just don’t think that’s true. Sad that a little girl can be branded a suppressive person. I’m sure Katie is a good mother, but even as weird as Tom is, I think it would be better for her if she got a chance to know him growing up.

  34. iheartgossip says:

OH Tom. How you continue to be a ‘star’ when you are so full of fakery and douchery; is beyond me. If ANY OTHER dad ANYWHERE didn’t see their child for 800 days, they would be roasted ‘n toasted daily. Your plastic surgeon lied to you; cause you look awful. All the way around you get a big BOO from me. And while you were attached to being Suri’s father, I don’t believe you’re her birth father. So hopefully that works out for Suri.

  35. LAK says:

How can anyone expect a big beast like little tommy girl to come down to the level of adult in small body Suri who hasn’t gone over the bridge? You guys are simply asking too much.

  36. TippyToes says:

The fact that he has completely abandoned that child is what truly makes me believe the rumors of him not being Suri’s biological father. Control freak that he is, if she had his DNA he would have never let her go.

  37. Jana says:

Scientology has ruined him as an actor, husband and father.

  38. Blackbetty says:

He has a lot of money, he could easily afford to see Suri whenever possible.

  39. Nik says:

Wow that is really sad if true. I guess Scientologists don’t believe in love.

  40. kate says:

His marriage to Katie always seemed like something contracted, not a real relationship, and I highly doubt Suri is his biological child.

Honestly, if that’s the case it would be kind of weird if he was still in contact with her. If she’s not his child and her mother broke off a contract, then he’s just some random who was using them for PR purposes.

Better for Suri that that nutcase is out of her life now anyway.

  41. Brow says:

I totally believe it. They got him to break up with Nicole Kidman and they can get him to drop his daughter. I’d love to see a documentary on the actual gov vs Ho$ fights: the IRS stuff, the FBi, etc. The church owns at least $3 billion worth of assets around the world. Honestly, I don’t think they’re a real threat right now, but hey, there could be a bunch of up and coming stars who are just like Tom Cruise and can work as their star recruits. After all, a world that will buy stuff just because the Kardashian-Jenners promote it could fall for auditing and becoming a top thetan or whatever.

    • LAK says:

you haven’t seen GOING CLEAR?? it addresses the IRS and FBI stuff

      • Brow says:

I have. The government stuff was probably just 15 minutes, tops. Not that much detail. Most of it was about how crazy and abusive DM/senior members were and how insane Hubbard was.

  42. Suki says:

If you’ve seen Going Clear, don’t hesitate to read the book as well, if you haven’t. It’s got a lot of additional details and is really riveting.

  43. Really? says:

@MRSBPITT I understand your experience with your ex-husband and your children. My gut tells me Tom Cruz is similar as well. My ex was diagnosed by a court ordered forensic psychiatrist as a narcissistic psychopath. He tried to destroy me in any and every way on his way out. My ex-husband walked away from me and his 2 kids when they were 3 & 6. He is now a very wealthy attorney and although the support checks did come every month (I had a great lawyer representing me) he has basically abandoned his son and daughter in every other way. Yes, his abandonment has hurt and damaged them, however, that was better than the damage he would have caused them if he stayed. He never paid attention to them at home, but at family gatherings he put on “The Great Wonderful Father Show”. My daughter called him on Thanksgiving Day to ask if she and her brother could meet him for lunch over the weekend and he said no, he is too busy. He never has time for them. Of course he has the new replacement family now. I would bet Tom Cruise is a narcissistic sociopath as well. Scientology is a dangerous evil cult that is packaged and marketed well and attracts damaged and vulnerable people who are susceptible to their promises of a better life. I live very close to their headquarters in downtown Clearwater, Florida. They have bought up and taken over the whole damn place, tax exempt of course. It is sick. They are ruining a gorgeous city. It is time for the IRS to re-open the issue of Scientology’s tax exempt status and not give up or back down. That day WILL come! I can feel it.

    • Brow says:

I agree with you that TC is a narcissistic sociopath probably. The problem last time with the IRS taking on HO$ is that all the members filed lawsuits in response. A cult can get their members to act robotically, on concert like that. It’ll be interesting what kind of strategy the IRS can come up with the next time round.

  44. Jag says:

I think he wrote off Suri due to his religion. He’s basically a deadbeat dad at this point and it’s not going to change.

As for him being lead in The Mummy, I think it’s a horrible idea. Brendan Fraser is the lead – not Brandon Frasier – and he is a sweet, goofy kind of character which is something that Cruise couldn’t play if his life depended on it.

  45. My Two Cents says:

Nobody really knows how much contact he does or doesn’t have with his daughter. I remember he sued a magazine for reporting the same thing several years back and won. I don’t give Katie much credit because she married the guy, converted and had a child with him, knowing all of the weardness of COS. This church owned a rehab facility not far from where I live and 3 people died while in their barbaric care. It has since been shut down but nothing was ever done to them for the deaths.

    • Kori says:

Back in late 2012, Cruise filed a lawsuit against both In Touch and Life & Style magazines for defamation after the magazines claimed Cruise had “abandoned” Suri. During deposition, Cruise testified that 110 days had passed without him seeing her. The suit was ultimately dropped.

    • DEB says:

I don’t think Katie knew even HALF of what Scientology has done and is capable of – most notably the alienation of Nicole’s children and the Nazanin Boniadi fiasco.

  46. Jwoolman says:

I don’t think there is any way to tell how much contact Tom has with Suri today. The technology has changed everything. They could be video chatting for an hour a day for all we know, which is more one-on-one time with their fathers than many kids have. She could be able to call him any time, voice or video. He also is quite capable of not publicizing realspace visits, and has a strong motivation to do that because of Co$. He had plenty of pap shots with her before because it was more than fine with Co$. Now it’s not fine, so any contact needs to be low-key. The only ones who know for sure are Tom, Katie, and Suri and none of them are talking to the tabloids.

Besides, why is everybody so anxious to have him stay in contact with her? Is that really a great thing, considering his position in Co$ and how he brainwashed his other kids against their mother? Suri was certainly used to him being away for long stretches when she was younger. It may not be a big deal to her. He may be like an uncle she rarely sees. Suri has plenty of other people in her life. She may be just fine with very limited contact or even no contact. She certainly seems far more relaxed now than when she was around him.

  47. Really? says:

I refuse to spend my entertainment dollars going to any movies by any primary star actors who are Scientologists, like Tom Cruise and John Travolta. I vote with my feet and my $$, I also do the same for seemingly pedophile types like Woody Allan and Roman Polanski. If more people did the same it might have a positive effect of shunning these crazy/evil people and getting them out of the movie making business.

  48. Andi says:

As far as I’m concerned, there is only ONE thing that makes a man a Deadbeat Dad – an absence in their child’s life. There is NO excuse for it! ESPECIALLY in multi-millionaire Mr. Tom “Wingnut” Cruise’s case.
The FIRST clue that your pseudo “religion” is a cult, is when it alienates you from your YOUNG child! Pull your head right out of your arse, Tom!!

  49. Tania says:

He’s a crappy parent. What kind of man would keep his children away from their mother? Nicole Kidman had those kids snatched away from her and she should have not stopped yelling about it until she got them back. But instead, silence. It’s all eerie and creepy. Good on Katie for getting out and protecting her daughter. They pulled that off flawlessly. I can only imagine the terror she felt going through that, or the fear that they would be caught. What a creepy, dangerous cult.

  50. Tate says:

I finally watched Going Clear. Scary shit.

  51. hermia says:

I really don’t get how anyone could choose a cult over one’s child and family.
