Kristen Stewart has long been a brand ambassador for Chanel and they dress her for so many events. She was one of the few women wearing pants on the red carpet last night. I would call this look 90s camp goth and because I’m a 90s girl I really like it. Kaiser does too. This is a fancy sequin version of those too-long too-loose skater and she paired them with platform sneakers, platform mary janes (I think they’re mary janes they could just be sneakers), a ton of chains and jewelry and pink-tipped hair. This is fun and it’s campy. It’s just camp from a more recent era than some of the other looks.
Lily Rose Depp also represents Chanel. She was in a formfitting black gown with chain embellishments. She carried a metallic purse but this is crying out for tackier medallion jewelry or a giant ugly purse. Ooh could you imagine if someone did a homage to Cher from Clueless? This is lacking.

Tessa Thompson was in an oversize quilted Chanel dress with latex sleeves and latex wrapped around to make a faux ponytail she carried as a whip. She had on dominatrix boots and carried another S&M instrument which I guess is a riding crop. I did google it but I don’t want to spend too long looking at that stuff even in incognito mode or Comcast will put me on a list.
I guess Chanel and Penelope Cruz’s stylist were going for 50s camp but that’s so often her look that it falls flat. I like the oversized tiers in this skirt though.

Penelope doesn’t fit the Chanel girl image at all. She should’ve struck a deal with Versace, the brand really suits her.
I wonder if they would work with her, given she played Donatella in that mini-series. But it does seem a better match to her style.
i think she said that she wouldn’t play the character until donatella gave her her blessing, so my guess is there’s no bad blood. but, who knows.
I like Stewart’s outfit but camp, it’s not.
Its a shame Tessas wonderful wonderful outfit attitude & style is placed amongst all that dross. No way would the Kaiser have let that dowdy outfit Lily Rose is wearing represent the house of Chanel. If Kristen had worn that Chanel skintight bodysuit she showcased during the resort show she be more on theme than what shes got going on in the photo.
I wouldn’t call Kristen’s look camp. The outfit is fairly tame, actually. Lily Rose and Penelope aren’t even close to camp. Tessa looks dressed for Halloween.
Everyone except Tessa could’ve kicked up the volume a notch. Stewart looks like a normal party goer lol. I dunno, 90s was my fav decade and I still wear much of its fare. Penny isn’t in the same campground…she arrived in a Winnebago. And I know what you mean about not googling certain words lol. I never stay long on questionables cuz I’m skeered of ‘lists’ lol.
Tessa Thompson nailed the camp theme. She’s by far the best of this bunch.

As someone who wore combat boots and fishnets pinned together with safety pens back in my salad days, I wholeheartedly endorse Kristen Stewart’s outfit.
The other thing Tessa is carrying is a flogger. No worries, I’m probably on a list already.
I don’t see Tessa holding a flogger. I see her holding her latex-wrapped ponytail that looks like it was fringed on the end and a riding crop. Floggers have multiple tails. Are there other pics I missed? I like that she went in a different direction with the theme. I was honestly surprised at how interesting people got.

Penelope Cruz is the only person I have ever seen look good with baby bangs. That’s the only positive thing I have to say. Chanel can’t do camp & they shouldn’t even try.
Didnt lily rose’s mom wear the same thing in the early 90s? I assumed she was doing a nod to that. Or am i thinking of another model?
