Thank you for being the only outlet to correctly report what CAA is doing with Shia. Everyone else, including Variety, has a misleading headline that he has been dropped. CAA is trying to protect themselves obviously but also has no interest of losing Shia. Meanwhile Shia needs to appear cancelled so he can ride the sympathy and political stupidity on his way back.

Yeah okay but he’s in in-patient treatment. Let’s give the guy a chance to fight whatever’s going on with him. Not defending him, but let’s hope that his mental health treatment works. People are allowed to heal.
but 5 weeks is… a drop in his ocean. To really start making progress with his issues and resulting behaviour, he needs at least 3-6 months. (Speaking as someone who had in patient treatment for PTSD resulting from abuse).
I agree with both these comments, Ashley and Arralethe. I’m glad he’s maybe sorting out his demons; 5 weeks hardly seems long enough. (Speaking as someone who was not in-patient, but who has also done the thing.)
They are already cultivating the sympathy angle I see. NOBODY is entitled a multi million dollar career and when you use the privilege accorded to you to ASSAULT WOMEN, there should be No comeback for you. The sane version of you can make a living as normie like everyone else. Let him go teach an acting class or something. There is no rehabilitation path to superstardom. Sorry not sorry.
to add, he’s been to rehab at least twice before.
dude needs like, a YEAR of intensive therapy and behavior management, and then regular, consistent “maintenance” therapy. and no more booze/drugs.
5 weeks for issues of his type is a joke.
3 months at the very minimum, 6-18 months would be more realistic.
We’re talking major long term therapy and probably medication.
5 weeks makes it seem like he actively looked for the shortest treatment program available
And to be frank, at his age with his level of disfunction, I don’t think a year of treatment would make him not abusive
Honestly… three months in-patient, 12-24 months outpatient, as a term of his contract with them, and CAA should cover it (and he should happily pay for FKA’s in the meantime). So many people are ultra-responsive to treatment — the issue is always getting them to go in the first place, and to keep going even when it becomes very painful.
Hailee Steinfeld didn’t get lip fillers. But whoever did her makeup did that stupid over-line the lips like a clown move. God, I hope that trend does a quick but painful death.
I think she looks gorgeous other than the lips, which because of the technique DOES make her look like she had fillers. She has a beautiful mouth, there’s no need for that.
It makes me wonder (again) what dirt the agent & publicist have on Arnie Hammer if he was officialy dropped and Shia was not?
I don’t think it is so much dirt as projects and interviews for him are getting dropped left and right.
Shia is worth more than Armie, and Armie’s probably going to go to jail for things that cannot be cleaned up with PR. Plus Armie’s problems are at a right angle to his persona, the handsome patrician all-American. Armie is probably over for now. He can come back in a few years, maybe. Reps can hire him back. I think letting him go is a legal move for them to pretend that they didn’t know what was going on.
Shias issues are an even bigger contrast to the self-aware rehabilitated version he attempted to sell last year with his autobiographical film. The real reason Shia is staying is because he’s playing a long. It’s hidden in the body of all the articles that have come out today – rehab! If an artist can keep his mouth shut and agree to play the rehab game, then he is salvageable. if you scroll up you will see some very naive comments about how this man who terrorized his girlfriend for an entire year should catch a break because he’s in rehab.
Armie in contrast is on tape bragging about beating a drug test to see his kids and still hasn’t gone into rehab much less cleverly had it released in slyly crafted CAA a press release. and hey let’s not pretend that it doesn’t help that SHIA LABEOUF’S VICTIM IS A BLACK WOMAN.
Someone on here a few days ago said that it’s not because of the dirt they have on Armie, it’s just that his talent isn’t worth it. He’s mediocre, and so they cut ties with him because they don’t think it’s worth it. It’s a take worth considering IMO.
As Hollywood (and many professional sports associations) has proven time and again, they will justify just about any behavior (Phil Spector, Johnny depp, etc etc etc forever) as long as there is “talent”.
Wow! I googled “can i stand opera ovation” and the search results suggest that opinions are strongly split! I’ve never even thought about it (I rise to my feet at the end if I am so moved, of course, but not so much during the rest of a performance). I *guess* I would be agitated if someone’s butt were in my view for longer than 15 seconds, but I’ve also enjoyed entire productions from behind someone’s tall hair??
But I guess some people really don’t like ovations because they seem weird and performative (to them), and also because they inadvertently prompt others to also rise to their feet, essentially creating a minute of chaos. Or, at least, that’s what I gathered from a quick skim.

He is deeply troubled. Intensive therapy for at least a year. This trivializes what the treatment centers do. This is insulting to think people will believe her changed one iota.
