Princess Eugenie & Jack Brooksbank welcomed a baby boy, announced it on IG

HRH Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank

Princess Eugenie has given birth! I don’t think she was overdue at all? I’m pretty sure we knew she was due in early February. Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank welcomed a baby boy, name unknown at this point. Baby Boy Brooksbank is Queen Elizabeth’s ninth great-grandchild and this child is the first grandchild for Prince Andrew and Fergie. Eugenie is 30 years old, Jack is 35 years old, just FYI. Baby Boy Brooksbank is also 11th in line to the throne. You would think that would mean that Eugenie and Jack could announce the birth any way they wanted, but look, the Daily Mail noted that E&J “broke tradition” with the announcement on Instagram.

Princess Eugenie has given birth to her first child, a baby boy born this morning. The Queen’s granddaughter, 30, had husband Jack Brooksbank at her side at The Portland Hospital in central London where their son – the Queen’s ninth great grandchild – was delivered at 8.55am.

The new arrival, who is 11th in line to the throne, weighs 8lbs 1oz and the couple broke with tradition by immediately sharing a black and white photo to Eugenie’s Instagram of their baby boy, showing them holding his tiny hand. Proud new mother Eugenie followed the post with three blue hearts after welcoming her son at the luxury private hospital where Meghan Markle also gave birth to her son, Archie.

The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Duke of York, Sarah, Duchess of York, and Mr and Mrs George Brooksbank have been informed and are delighted with the news, Buckingham Palace has announced, adding that ‘Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well’.

[From The Daily Mail]

Breaking tradition huh? Not… breaking protocol? Weird that Eugenie, a friggin’ blood princess, was allowed to have a quiet delivery and announce the birth on her own terms, about 10-12 hours after it happened. Remember how the British press had a complete and utter meltdown when Meghan tried to do the same? Weird. I’m not saying that Eugenie did anything wrong – she did not. But a lot of people need to apologize to Meghan.

Also: this child will not have a title. That’s because Jack is untitled. He’s not even a “Sir Jack.” Although as Camilla Tominey noted, Casamigos Tequila PR sent a note around, clarifying Jack’s position in the company for media outlets writing about the baby:

I honestly didn’t know that Jack’s title is European Brand Director for Casamigos. Oh well! Congrats to Eugenie, Jack and the baby. I hope all is well!

    I forgot she was pregnant

    Congrats to them.

    *crickets*

    • AnnaKist says:

La di da di da di daaahhh. Um, eh? A baby, you say? Good-oh. Congrats.

    • PEARL GREY says:

I’m waiting for mass British and social media outrage on the following:
•Deceiving the public by not issuing a press release the moment her water broke
•Disrespecting protocol by announcing the birth on Instagram
•Snubbing other royals by not giving birth at St Mary’s hospital
•Slapping the British public in the face by not posing for pictures on the steps of the Lindo Wing immediately after cutting the umbilical cord and robbing them of sharing her joy
•Posting a black and white photo
•Being privacy obsessed by taking too long to show the baby’s face
•Purposely making everyone wait by taking too long to reveal the baby’s name

      I have a feeling I’ll be waiting a while.

      • Charlie says:

I’m wondering if any of these decisions were made in support of her cousin. This seems like mirroring a bit of H&M’s choices which seems like more than a bit of calling out others. I’m here for that.

      • Adrienne says:

Pearl Gray- YES. The hypocrisy is so obvious, it’s ridiculous. It’s almost the same exact birth plan and announcement but apparently it’s fine this time, no outrage whatsoever. After dragging the Sussexes almost daily after Archie’s birth for doing the same. Hmm I wonder what the difference is….

And I just checked the Daily Mail and the top rated comments are STILL talking about Meghan and speculating how she’ll try to ‘steal the spotlight’ from Eugenie. It’s crazy how obsessed they are with her, those people are very sick and racist and should seek help honestly lol

      • Mrs.Krabapple says:

@Charlie, if Eugenie wants to support Harry and Meghan (or even more importantly, the victims of trafficking), the best thing she could do is give up her titles. The “HRH” only identifies her as a member of a racist, sexist organization that protects rapists. Silence and acceptance of how the royal family operates, including their treatment of Meghan and shielding of Andrew, should not be the norm. Their own members have to start speaking out, and putting their titles where their mouth is.

      • PEARL GREY says:

        @ADRIENNE

Oh, the irony of them claiming that Meghan is going to try to do something to steal Eugenie’s thunder when, with all due respect, clearly she doesn’t have to do anything at all when they are doing it for her by making Eugenie’s birth announcement all about Meghan again.

She’s been out of sight for months, yet they still can’t get their sick minds off of her long enough to just congratulate Eugenie on her safe delivery. They did the same thing when Beatrice announced her engagement. These are the same people who thought nothing positive about the York girls before, but I guess now they have value if they can be used as a stick to beat Meghan with.

      • PrincessK says:

Yes, double standards all the way and not in favour of you if you skin is not white.

    • windyriver says:

I’m waiting to see what this birth certificate looks like.

      • Nic919 says:

Since Eugenie doesn’t have a title and she was born an HRH it will be HRH princess eugenie (all the middle names)

The removal of given names only applies to women who marry into that family and receive a title. Except for Kate I guess

    • PrincessK says:

I agree with @Charlie. I think that Eugenie did the picture to call out people who slammed Meghan for a similar picture. Don’t forget that the York sisters have been abused by the press and nasty public more than any royal apart from Meghan, they know how wicked the press can be.

      • Lorelei says:

@PrincessK ITA with you and Charlie. When I saw that photo, it was my first thought. Good for Eugenie.

  4. Becks1 says:

Congrats to them, I’m glad the media left them alone.

But it does draw a stark contrast between the treatment of Eugenie and the treatment of Meghan, doesnt it? I know the excuse is going to be that Meghan was a working royal at the time, but that’s not enough to excuse the rabid obsession with her birth plans and baby IMO. Every announcement from a royal house – BP, CH, etc, – referred to “HRH” Princess Eugenie, which I know is her title but I thought the thing with Sussexit was that non-working royals couldnt use HRH??? Whats that? The use of HRH isn’t tied to being a working or non working royal? I thought it was a huge no-no for a royal to use a private hospital. Whats that? Royals can use whatever hospital they want? I thought it was a huge no-no to release a cute feet picture on IG? What’s that? Turns out its perfectly fine?

I mean good for Eugenie but it really makes the whole British press and family look that much more racist and unhinged.

Also, LMAO at the statement from Casamigos. I thought it was a joke at first.

    • Islandgirl says:

BECKS1 …all of this. Nothing to add.
      .

    • Alexandria says:

Nothing to add too. If we were at a meeting I would say I concur so the minutes have it on record lol.

Copy paste these into all royal social media 😁

    • Amy Bee says:

It really shows how bad Meghan was treated by the press and the Royal Family, especially during her pregnancy and that she and Harry are being punished for leaving the family. The Queen’s statement on their decision to leave was all a lie.

    • L84Tea says:

      THIS. All of this.

      Wait…you mean, they weren’t joking??

      • BeanieBean says:

I thought they were joking, too; it seemed a very George Clooney thing to do, insist on using his ‘proper title’.

    • Over it says:

Facts. May petty and her descendants minus Harry and Archie and by extension Megs rot in hell.

    • Case says:

      Amazing post.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

Apparently the statement from Casamigos was a direct request from Jack in a blatant attempt at getting some free PR for his company.

    • BayTampaBay says:

@Becks1 – If the Brooksbank’s do not play ball with the tabloids (read Daily Fail) the tabloids (read Daily Gestapo) will go after HRH Eugenie as a Royal Princess and Jack’s private sector business concerns. Mark my Words!

      • Becks1 says:

I dont really think so because no one really cares about Eugenie and Jack. Maybe they’ll do a photo spread in Hello! or something, but they dont generate the clicks that the Sussexes do so no one really cares if they “play ball” with the tabloids or not. If anything, the Yorks would be the ones desperate for this baby story to be big news, to help reinforce the image of Andrew as the doting father and grandfather, etc.

And even if the press goes after Jack’s private business dealings – again, I dont think anyone will really care.

Unless of course they can prove its all Meghan’s fault.

      • Digital Unicorn says:

Hmm, well if a certain Duke’s comments about racism don’t get the press praise he expects I think there might be some ‘leaking’ of news about the baby.

It becoming so obvious that NO ONE is keeping KP in the loop on anything now.

      • BayTampaBay says:

I cannot predict what the Daily Fail will do in the future but the comments on articles about Eugenie & Jack’s baby posted today are as vile and as false as the comments on the Sussexes.

  5. Cecilia says:

Where is the “we paid for your wedding so show us your baby” crowd? Anyway congrats to them.

    • (The OG) Jan90067 says:

Where is the yelling about it being a BLACK & WHITE photo??? You know…from the same BM that sneered at H&M for being “so artsy”, “so Hollywood”. Hmmm… I didn’t hear a PEEP about the pic….did you?? Or the fact she didn’t do a Lion King moment on the front steps?? After all, she IS an HRH, as they like to cram down our throats.

      • Cee says:

There is no outrage because they’re not trying to guess how much melanin baby Brooksbank will have.

They make me sick (the press, not the Brooksbank family)

      • EllenOlenska says:

+100% to Cee’s comment. The “outrage” was always about Melanin.

      • BayTampaBay says:

Guys, it ain’t over yet as Eugenie is probably still in the hospital. Give the matter until next week and if the Brookbank’s are not playing ball with the tabloids (read Daily Fail) then the attacks and outrage will begin.

      • PrincessK says:

@Cee…you are right people only want to see Archie to dissect his face and hair in search of any ‘African’ features.

    • notasugarhere says:

Just as there will be no outrage when they sell the baby pics to Hello.

      • BayTampaBay says:

The hate commenters of the Daily Fail (which is 96% of commenters at the Daily Fail) are already accusing Eugenie and Jack of monetizing their new born baby boy and telling Jack he needs to get “a proper job” so as to not offend QEII and taxpaying public with his commercial grifting. This crap cannot be made up. You have to read this crap to believe anyone would post such stuff.

  6. Amy Bee says:

“But a lot of people need to apologize to Meghan.”

Yes they do but they won’t. Eugenie’s post on Instagram was also described as “sweet”, not “unroyal” or “Hollywood”.

I noted that KP didn’t sent out a congratulatory tweet. I think we now know who pitched a fit about Eugenie moving into Frogmore Cottage and forced them to move out. All the best to Eugenie and her family.

    • L84Tea says:

I’m still so confused on the Frogmore thing. What was the big deal that Eugenie and Jack live there??

      • Amy Bee says:

No one knows. It was reported that they had moved into Frogmore and then it was confirmed by the Sussexes. Most of the press didn’t know that it was going to happen and it would seem that the Palace didn’t know about it either. Weeks later it was reported that Eugenie and Jack had moved out. I suspect that William complained about them living at Frogmore and they were told to leave.

      • Ginger says:

Part of me thinks William doesn’t want anyone in the family to speak to Harry. It’s far fetched but this is William and he is horrible and hates Harry. Just a theory.

      • Becks1 says:

I cant decide – part of me thinks that Charles made them move out, because Jack and Eugenie moving into Frogmore sent a very clear “The Sussexes are never coming back for more than quick visits” message (like buying the mansion in Montecito wasnt a big enough message).

But part of me thinks it was more about William – he’s so petty and mean spirited that I can see him being ticked about a living arrangement that doesnt have anything to do with him (as in, he probably thinks everything should go through him as future future king, dontya know) and I can see him enraged at something that makes Harry look good (this arrangement made harry and meghan look like generous and loving cousins) AND I can see it being what Ginger said – that William doesnt want anyone in the family to speak to Harry or have a good relationship with Harry.

I’m at the point where I always assume the worst of William, so its probably some combo of my second paragraph.

      • Snuffles says:

My personal theory is that the heirs threw a fit. Can’t have Harry making any decisions outside of their purview. They probably threatened to cut Eugenie out of the Queen’s inheritance if she doesn’t do what they say.

I think it was a power move to remind everyone who’s REALLY in charge.

      • Sofia says:

My own theory is different from everyone else’s in that I think Jack and Eugenie were doing renovations to Ivy Cottage but didn’t want to announce to the public that millions were going to renovate the house of a non-working royal and her untitled husband in a pandemic so they made a big show of moving into Frogmore and then moved out when renovations were done hence all the secretness because the BRF hates having to fully disclose their financials.

But I can also see William and/or Charles having a hand in getting them to move out.

      • Becks1 says:

@sofia I could be on board with that idea except that I dont think they moved back to Ivy Cottage? Maybe the renos are still going on?

      • L84Tea says:

All of these theories make sense. What a bunch of miserable old creetons.

      • Sofia says:

@becks I have no idea. I think she may have moved to the royal lodge where Andrew and Fergie are so maybe renovations are still ongoing like you said or everyone else is right and the heirs threw a fit

    • Jegede says:

      @Snuffles-

I think you’re theory makes the most sense.

H & M let it be known that they were happy for the Brooksbanks to move into the Sussex vacant home, and even spoke about sharing when/if they came over from Cali.

That initself tells me it was NOT a 6 week arrangement and the agreement was long-term, maybe till the baby was 1, or even older.

Something went down. I can’t imagine that any pregnant woman wants to keep moving from place, to place at will.

    • My Two Cents says:

Not to confuse matters more, but I read on Twitter that they are actually still at Frogmore. It’s hard to know what’s really going on, but I imagine with more baby news in the next weeks, we’ll find out more about where they’re living.

    • Sid says:

If true, I just can’t get over the idea of being salty because your sibling offered his home to your own pregnant cousin and her husband. Everyday this family shows how nasty and dysfunctional they are.

    • sunny says:

Wonderful news for Eugenie and Jack! I can’t get into the double standards of the press or I will get mad.

Wishing the new family all the best and honestly, it must be so tough for Eugenie with her parents constant awful behaviour. I hope she gets to enjoy this time without them ruining it.

  7. Aurora says:

It’s weird to see the rest of the royal family circling the remnants of Sussexroyal ideas like vultures after chasing M & H out of the country. I’m old enough to remember when b&w photos and pics of baby feet were considered too artistic and “not royal”. The Windsors have magically discovered artistry and symbolism in photography post-Meghan.

    • S808 says:

It’s so weird idk how to describe it. They force them out, do whatever that can to erase Meghan and then copying her (& Harry). It gives me Get Out vibes tbh.

    • Myra says:

I don’t know how people ‘royalled’ before The Duchess of Sussex. All I know is that she is the blueprint and her way is the right way. I’m so glad she redefined what it is to be a duchess too because doormat isn’t it. Not in this century.

      • one of the Marys says:

Yup exactly. And even with Meghan gone Kate will spend the rest of her days being compared to and overshadowed by her. No peace of mind for her poor thing

      • Nyro says:

Forever in Meghan’s shadow. We love to see it.

  8. Ginger says:

Congrats to Eugenie for having a peaceful pregnancy and birth. The royal reporters had no outrage over the birth of their son. Must be nice. No one is demanding to know every single detail or complaining on how “secret” it was. I doubt the reporters will care enough to get the birth certificate or who the god parents will be.

Anyway, I am happy for Eugenie. I’m sure they will make great parents. This is the kind of treatment ALL pregnant royals should of had during a pregnancy but it is reserved only for the white ones.

I noticed KP hasn’t said anything on the birth, which is odd.

    • Jegede says:

      All you wrote.👍👍👍

And I think KP only makes a point of tweeting about senior royals/direct family only.

They said nowt about Beatrice’s wedding last year too.

    • BayTampaBay says:

I think the tabloids (read Daily Gestapo) are very interested in who Baby Boy Brooksbank’s godparents are because it gives them more fodder for column inches to abuse the Sussexes.

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe that Harry is rather close with his Spencer & York cousins and William is not.

      • Sid says:

BTB, that is always the impression I got. Harry definitely appears to be close with Eugenie, and there are photos of him at Spencer weddings looking jolly while William is conspicuously absent. I think William is supposed to be close with Anne’s kids.

And yes, with Harry being close to Eugenie I can see her wanting him as one of the godparents. I sort of suspect she is one of Archie’s godmothers.

      • Becks1 says:

I find Archie’s godparents so interesting because NONE of the names have leaked, right? We have some speculation but no confirmation. If it was Eugenie, dont we think that Andrew would have leaked that at some point over the past year and a half as a distraction from his own crimes?

Re: who is close to whom in that family – we do know that Harry is a godfather to….Lena Tindall, right?

(also I am looking it up now and Mia Tindall is 7 years old, holy crap I didnt realize she was that old lol).

oh wait. I am looking it up like I said. And it seems both Tindall girls godparents are PRIVATE MATTERS according to Buckingham Palace. OH REALLY. PRIVATE.

This family. The RRs. what a bunch of asshats.

(but for those still wondering its assumed William is a godfather to Mia since he attended the baptism.)

      • Amy Too says:

Becks, some of the godparents were revealed in finding freedom. Harry’s old nanny Tilly. And then another person was also mentioned—Nacho, I think.

  9. ABritGuest says:

Congrats on their baby boy. Cute picture too. It’s nice she was able to be low key during her pregnancy & birth. I’m betting Phillip is gonna be one of the names.

Camilla Tominey being spiteful as ever. Her ilk have no problem plugging Party Pieces, Fergie’s upcoming fiction book or praising Kate for the feat of doing her own make up so not sure why she’s acting above this PR request. RRs are probably annoyed they didn’t know for hours about the birth- weirdos they are.

Ps for those who thought Eugenie’s wedding was overshadowed by baby Sussex birth announcement three days later- Eugenie’s baby news only made one front page out of the mainstream press in the UK. The York princesses have never got as much attention as William& Harry. So even without the baby news the start of the Oz tour would have dominated the press cycle.

    • Sofia says:

The Yorks were deluding themselves if they thought they would ever get the media attention that the Cambridges and Sussexes get. They won’t and honestly, they never will.

Andrew is a pedophile and no-one cares (or at least no one is really demanding his titles are withdrawn the same way the media does with the Sussexes).

That’s how insignificant the Yorks are.

      • ABritGuest says:

Some of the posters here were saying the Sussexes should have delayed the birth announcement for Eugenie to have her post wedding shine. just pointing out she never had it like that (probably a good thing with how cruel the press have been to her &are to royal women generally). Some of the royal mags like Hello are even linking the birth news to Meghan to get clicks.

Why do I get the feeling that the hospital photocall will be a thing of the past? Even if we weren’t in a pandemic I always had a feeling that Eugenie would do something similar to the Sussexes roll out. Guess we’ll see. Anyway I hope Eugenie& Jack are enjoying this precious time with their newborn.

      • BayTampaBay says:

@Sofia – I think a great majority of the UK Taxpaying public would like to see Andrew’s title and style removed but the tabloids just do not cover it.

Here is the problem: Removing the York title and/or Sussex title would still leave Andrew and Harry as a Prince of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

@ABritGuest – “Some of the royal mags like Hello are even linking the birth news to Meghan to get clicks.”

NO SHIT! The royal rags (of which Hello! is not really part of) are linking Eugenie’s delivery of Bay Boy Brooksbank to the possibility of Meghan currently being pregnant and with speculation to a second Sussex baby being born in the USA. The royal rag commentariats are in overdrive like they would be if QEII incited a riot over a gold plated piano.

      • Sid says:

I think they’ll probably have a deal with OK or Hello magazine to sell the baby pictures. Outside of that, I agree that the attention won’t be at the level it was for the other two families.

      • Sofia says:

@Bay well that’s what I mean. I’m sure some people, including myself, would love to see Andrew’s titles removed but the media won’t cover it or use it to increase pressure on the BRF. And while I’m sure a lot of it is due to his mother protecting him, a lot of it is simply because most people don’t care about Andrew or his family.

      • notasugarhere says:

ABritGuest, Meghan haters insisted Harry and Meghan announced their pregnancy at Eugenie’s wedding reception. They didn’t, it was confirmed by Mike Tindall that they were all told on the family What’s Ap group long before.

Then haters insisted Meghan should have hidden her pregnancy completely during the Oceania tour. FFS, she was already showing at two months much less three/four. And they had to change the itinerary to keep her away from Zika-infected areas, so the pregnancy had to be announced.

    • Over it says:

I remembered she was pregnant but had no memory of when she was due, I was thinking she was early but that’s only because I had no idea. Well congrats and I hope she has a chance to enjoy being a new mom and not have to read terrible things about herself or a child on a daily basis unlike Meghan and Archie. When you are white, it seems to always be alright.

    • Alexandria says:

@ABritGuest oh I dunno about that. Don’t think they or their parents want to be left out of the limelight and feel less ‘royal’ by skipping the hospital photocall. They are blood princesses of this generation, until Charlotte grows up. Beatrice even remade her Grandma’s dress. I won’t rule out their children being named Phillip or Elizabeth either.

      • Lady D says:

Lady Louise and Zara are also blood princesses aren’t they? I know they don’t use the title, but technically they are the same as the York sisters. I also don’t think we are going to hear much about the Wessex kids, publicity wise.

      • Becks1 says:

Technically yes both are in the same position as Eugenie – granddaughters of the monarchy – but they are farther down the line of succession and neither one is a “princess” by title (or a HRH, although Louise is entitled to be called HRH Princess Louise, but I dont think she will ever go by that.) and I think Louise’s wedding in 10-15 years will be a blip on the RRs radar, more like Gabriella Windsor’s was, unless the press hyper-focuses on the idea that its the last granddaughter of the “great Queen Elizabeth.”

      • Nic919 says:

Louise is in the same position as the york girls because as daughter of a male child or the monarch she was born with HRH. Her parents simply choose not to have their kids use it.

Zara is not an HRH or princess because it doesn’t flow through the female line and even if Anne’s first husband was given a title none of her kids would ever be an HRH.

  10. Sofia says:

    Congrats to them both!

And not surprised by the lack of outrage. And I’m sure I’ll be hearing multiple reports about how “Hollywood” it is to show a part of your kid and complaints about the birth being kept secret /s

  11. Cee says:

They had it out for Meghan and it’s becoming clearer every time something happens with another Royal.
    Congrats to Eugenie and Jack.

  12. Over it says:

They need to apologize to megs for a lot, but like you say, these racist bitches are salty about Harry marrying a woman of color and substance and bringing her into their all white fraternity and tainting the oh so pure and good house of Windsor, so no megs won’t be getting an apology, but I bet plenty of nasty comments about how unfit she was for royal life because she uses the wrong hand to blow her nose or some other made up shit. I am so over these assholes in the palace and the British media.

  13. Yoyo says:

The BM knows they can’t make money off the York girls, the birth announcement
    didn’t even trend in England.
Kensington palace put out birthday wishes, to boy that went through a lot of trauma, why are they so competitive?
Fat fingers and Fergie must be so happy with their first grandchild and furious about the lack of media attention.

  14. Maevo says:

Wonder if Andrew will be part of the baby’s name at all….

  15. TheOriginalMia says:

Congrats to them. Had forgotten she was pregnant until my mom mentioned the birth. Glad she & the baby are doing well.

No point in pointing out the hypocrisy of the BM. It’s been said far better above this post.

  16. Kate says:

Wow, I’m actually thrilled that a news article has FINALLY spelled out the vast difference in mis-treatment at Meghan’s expense, compared to her royal relatives over the years, particularly highlighting the difference between Eugenie’s birth and announcement:

    https://www.news.com.au/entertainment/celebrity-life/royals/princess-eugenie-ignored-royal-tradition-to-announce-baby-news/news-story/34046248fdca39e1639e236226c89c1a

    • Over it says:

This article has Lot of truths

    • Feeshalori says:

The other articles that are linked are very interesting too.

    • twinkle says:

it’s an article that maybe should give the author a cookie crumb (or two)? from rupert murdoch press and a ‘royal journalist’ who somewhat successfully ‘both sides’ royal stories for the australian public who choose to give clicks to murdoch press (which as essentially an australian media monopoly is unfortunately… everyone)
there’s a lot of previous articles with perpetuated bias, unexamined racist viewpoints casually glossed over, regurgitated pro-palace talking points and a lot of kate love/meghan smackdown.
for this one meghan ‘positive’ article there’ll be a rebound of ten ‘great kate’ articles next, for sure.

  17. Nic919 says:

So many elements of this roll out were exactly the same as what Harry and Meghan did and yet the press didn’t have fits here. Gee I wonder why?

  18. Kalana says:

The Rota threw some shade at the couple over Jack’s work title. Payback for not being part of freezing out the Sussexes?

    • BayTampaBay says:

The Rota will go after Jack due to his Clooney connection which will attract view$ and click$. The hater commentariat of The Daily Fail cannot stand Amal & George Clooney.

      • Becks1 says:

I mean, she and Jack have been married for over 3 years at this point. If they were going to really attack Jack for a Clooney connection, it would have happened at this point.

The truth is that most people dont really care about Eugenie and Jack, even royal watchers, and that’s not even really shade at Eugenie – its just how it is with these things. The royal “stars” in terms of press attention were always William and Harry, and now William really only gets press because he pitches a fit otherwise, lol.

    • Beach Dreams says:

I think it’s because they didn’t learn about the birth until hours after the fact. Obviously they’re never going to react in the hysterical way they did about Archie’s birth, but I’m betting that they’re still pissed off that the Yorks didn’t give them a real-time heads up. Tominey’s snippy tweet and the RR’s equally mocking retweets and replies is their way of expressing their displeasure.

  19. Nyro says:

Seems she followed Meghan’s birth playbook I stead of the “protocol” of the white royals. She went so far as to basically replicate Meghan and Harry’s much maligned “Hollywood” Instagram photo. Maybe I’m giving ol’ Eugenie too much credit but I think she did it on purpose, to expose the blatant double standard. The fact that KP still has not sent out a congratulatory tweet to Eugenie speaks volumes, imo. Baldy and Potted Plant have congratulated other random foreign royal couples on their new babies yet not a single tweet for their own cousin? You can’t tell me there’s not something going on there.

    • Kalana says:

And how petty is that? The baby is a blessing. Be happy. Will and Kate are ridiculous.

I’ve had my doubts about Eugenie but I’d love it if she was standing up for her cousin.

    • Kate says:

@NYRO ‘baldy and potted plant’ lols love it!
I like the theory Eugénie is exposing the double standards

    • L84Tea says:

Very interesting theory. I would love to think that there is one relative in the bunch who actually is on Harry’s side. I won’t hold my breath, but I can still hope.

      Potted plant….bahahahaha!!!

      • Nyro says:

Yeah, I usually have nothing for any of these people, but I’m convinced it’s a sign of support from her. And with their refusal to congratulate Eugenie, it appears Baldy and Potted Plant got the message.

    • Amy Bee says:

I think Eugenie is being freezed out by William for maintaining a relationship with Harry and Meghan.

    • Jegede says:

KP has NEVER tweeted about the Yorks.

They didn’t congratulate Bea after her wedding either, unlike all the other BRF Instas.

I’m guessing KP is very much ‘senior royals’ only.

(The way things are now, they would happily snub Meghan too, only that would generate far too much heat).

      • Amy Bee says:

If I’m not mistaken, KP retweeted the Royal Family’s tweet about Beatrice’s wedding. It’s been said that William doesn’t have a close relationship with Beatrice and Eugenie and I’m sure that he wouldn’t be happy with Eugenie continuing to have a relationship with Harry and Meghan after they left the family.

      • notasugarhere says:

Harry and Meghan haven’t left the family. They left their jobs at the family company; they have not left the family.

      • Beach Dreams says:

That mindset says a lot about Will and Kate. They’ve both been described as “grand” over the years and that’s definitely reflected here. They still snub Meghan in other ways: on her birthday last year they chose to post a photo of her alone. On Harry’s birthday they posted a photo of Harry and the two of them in that racing photo.

  20. Harper says:

Congrats to the blood princess and her European Brand Director of Casamigos Tequila husband. Will he be putting that title on the birth certificate? There seem to be a lot of boy royal babies being born lately. As for breaking protocol to announce on Instagram, will someone inform the Fail that the town crier isn’t used anymore?

The silence from Kensington Palace looks bad. This is a new cousin-in-law for George, Charlotte, and Louis. But I have a hunch that the only cousins those kids will be exposed to will be Pippa’s kids, and James Middleton’s, if he eventually procreates. By announcing on Insta in a tasteful, black and white, tiny hand only photo reveal, the blood princess and her brand director hubby are definitely following the Sussex’s lead. Will is probably incandescently throwing vases in Sandringham over this and we no longer have to wonder who pushed them out of Frogmore.

    • Nyro says:

I think the RR are privately seething as well. Eugenie is not popular, the RR usually don’t care about her, and she doesn’t sell. But the RR are completely struggling right now, starved and broke. Eugenie didn’t attempt to play the game at all with them like Beatrice did for her wedding. And by leaning into Megan’s modern new mom choices, as opposed to the “royal traditions”, she’s completely deprived them of the chance to use her as a weapon against Meghan the way they were able to use Beatrice and her wedding against Meghan. She’s really given them nothing at a time when they are dying for something.

    • BayTampaBay says:

Bay Boy Brooksbank is a second cousin to Archie, George, Charlotte, and Louis as they share a great-grandmother.

      • Harper says:

I realize that as second cousins the little ones might not get together that often, but Eugenie and her baby will be there for the bigger family gatherings at least until Betty kicks it. I think it’s bad form on Will’s part to ignore this sweet addition to the Royal family, mainly because the Yorks are sensitive to Eugenie and Bea being respected. This is a real, not imagined, snub on KP’s part, and Fergie and Andrew were suspected of leaking bad stories to the media about Meghan in payback for her pregnancy stealing focus immediately after Eugenie wed. It would be fuel for them to retaliate by planting a bad Willie story anywhere that would pay them.

    • 809Matriarch says:

Probably so. Remember the Top CEO secret superpower is her fabulous photo taking skill. She’s probably hankering to have another baby so she can take a cute arty baby extremity photo too. George, Charlotte and Louis are too old for that now.

  21. Jais says:

    “Incandescently throwing vases” LOL.
I know it’s been reported that Will was incandescently ragey over the birth rollout by Harry and Meg, but why??? Just because it broke protocol? Did he think it made Kate look bad that Meghan refused to be photographed right away? Was he afraid the RR would later come after him if Harry didn’t uphold “the devil’s bargain” with the RR? I just really don’t get why he was so angry over that in the first place. I can get why the press was angry, even though they have no right, but why was William so angry bout this particular thing?

    • JT says:

I think he was upset about H&M’s birth because he made a deal with the press. I think he told the press they would play ball. A RR said they were promised access. Harry and Meghan kept their birth as private as they could considering their position: no hospital step photos, they only invited 2 news cameras to the reveal, and they copyrighted the pictures. William has been offering up “news” about H&M to the tabloids and the Sussexes sidestepping the “protocol” left the press hanging, and therefore William.

    • Amy Too says:

I think part of it is that William is supposedly fiercely protective of his privacy and used to be very protective about access to his kids and he probably did not like having to do the whole high-PR baby rollout with his kids, but thought he had to. And then he expected Harry to have to do the same thing, against his wishes, and share in the objectification of what should be an intimate family moment, as in “This is horrible and I hated doing it and wish I didn’t have to, but if I have to, then Harry should also have to!” Basically, whiney, petulant, “That’s not faaaaaaaiiir!!!!” childish crap. And then when Harry and Meghan did it in a different, calmer, more private and controlled way, he got pissed that Harry was “getting something” that he didn’t. Because jealousy and toddler temper tantrums are Will’s MO.

      • L84Tea says:

I never thought about that, but that sounds just like something Willie would be incandescent about.

      • Jais says:

Yeah that’s another perspective and just kind of sad. It’s like sometimes when kids are little they get mad at a younger sibling and just wish they were an only child, which is a kid-like wish but not a real thing. But this is an adult man and his younger bro.

  22. February-Pisces says:

Congrats to Eugenie and Jack. I bet the baby is gorgeous.

I am glad she had a peaceful birth and I have no problem with that at all, but it does suck how much sh*t meghan got when she had almost the exact same birth. I hate the idea that people have such a problem with waiting a few hours to tell people the baby is born. There is so much that happens after the baby pops out. The mother still has to deliver the after birth, not to mention checking the baby over and getting settled. You want to make sure that all is ok first before announcing it. It’s ridiculous that these royal women are expected to get dolled up after giving birth. I am glad eugenie was left alone because that’s the way it should be, and Meghan should have been given the same courtesy.

I wonder if kate has baby no 4 if she will rethink the lindo wing photo call? Of course not, she loves the attention way too much and it’s the only time anyone actually cares about her. But given that Meghan and eugenie were able to give birth without the fanfare, Kate would look extra thirsty inviting all the press along.

    • Alexandria says:

Kate the Great Top CEO won’t skip anything that makes her be in the limelight. She takes her birthing and presenting role seriously. The other royal and tangible duties…not so much.

    • Alexandria says:

Kate the Great Top CEO won’t skip anything that makes her be in the positive limelight. She takes her birthing and presenting role seriously. The other royal and tangible duties and sacrifices…not so much.

    • Nic919 says:

I think the time for baby number four has passed. If it’s questionable whether or not they are even living together and the rose pruning gardening exposé didn’t lead to a fourth baby last year, it is not going to happen.

    • Ginger says:

People say Kate was “honoring” Diana and that’s bs. Diana hated the photo call. She said she was in so much pain afterwards and just hated it. I’m glad Harry and Meghan didn’t do the stupid photo all. I hope that’s a thing of the past.

    • February-Pisces says:

I definitely think kate is desperate for a 4th baby, anything to prolong her decade long maternity leave and stop her husband from walking out the door. But she will have to catch Willie first. My guess is there’s not that much going on in the bedroom between these two.

Diana didn’t give birth there for the photo op afterwards, she just wanted to have a baby in the hospital. Kate really is the only one she sees it as a photoshoot. Also I don’t think kate ever ‘honours’ Diana, she just desperately wants to be her by copying everything she does.

  23. candy says:

Princess Eugenie was soooooo pretty on her wedding day.

  24. Sid says:

    Congrats to Eugenie and Jack!

  25. Lucy says:

The tweet y’all included at the bottom had me howling 😂
“”Princess Eugenie had a son- Buckingham Palace.” Bucky for short x”
Sorry I don’t know how to link/insert tweets. That and cat lawyer will keep me going 😄

  26. Rianic says:

Again, I hope should Meghan and Harry have another child, they break ALL protocol by not even letting the public (or his family) know until the birth.

    • Nyro says:

What I wouldn’t give for them to have a baby and the public not find out about it until the kid’s been here for two weeks. Lol. And then have all if their famous friends tweet stuff like “Yay, I’ve been bursting at the seams for months, waiting to celebrate! Congratulations!!” just to rub it in. Imagine Oprah and James Cordon knowing about the baby while everyone on Brexit Island was out if the loop.

  27. L4frimaire says:

Congratulations! Happy for them and it’s a cute photo. I seriously thought she was due in spring and lot of people seemed surprised she already delivered . I thought this would generate more news over there, but seemed the usual gushing coverage wasn’t there. I did see that snarky comment by Cowmilla Tominey, about Jack’s job title, with input from one of the Rebecca’s and gave the impression that they seemed annoyed about the birth. The usual suspects slithered out to attack Meghan and Harry for some reason, especially when Town and Country mentioned they congratulated Eugenie and Jack privately. The writer of the article starting getting defensive when they were called out for centering the Sussexes in Eugenie’s birth story, because it unleashed the trolls again. Anyway, it did make people see the blatant hostility and craziness surrounding the Sussexes birth. Anyway, happy for the couple and they got to have their baby, their way, without a bunch of fuss and hoopla. I didn’t see anyone getting upset that the official announcement from the palace was long after she had delivered and may already be home. I assume they were able to be so low key and private as well because of hospital restrictions due to Covid, so they could come and go with no disruptions or crowds.

  28. Mia says:

    Happy for Euge!
I had no idea who the Yorks were until I joined Celebitchy. I thought Beatrice was Pippa for 7 years because everyone was talking about her butt after w+k wedding 😆 I came on here and was shocked.

  29. M.A.F. says:

Has the British press ever *really* cared about the York girls? or any of the other grand-children the way they do William and Harry?

    • Harper says:

Beatrice got a lot of press attention when she trolled Kate on her wedding day by wearing that ridiculous hat. There is no way Bea and Eugenie were not on the floor laughing their heads off about finding a way to slight Kate on her big day. Beatrice then auctioned off the hat for 80,000 pounds, all of which she donated to charity.

      • Lanie says:

Low key, that hat wasn’t the worst thing in the world, not the greatest, but not worth all the mocking. More importantly, her coat that day was amazing!

      • BayTampaBay says:

        @Lanie – I really liked Bes’s coat worn at Kate’s wedding too!

  30. Elizabeth Phillips says:

How dare they have a black and white photo of the baby’s hand! That simply isn’t allowed!

  31. Coji says:

I never realized how pretty Eugenie is.

  32. newmenow says:

So, announcing on Instagram..does that mean the Gent who got all fancy and dressed up in his Town Crier outfit is outta a job? Too bad, that seemed like a cushy job, no heavy lifting involved. lol
OK, so the BRF have lost my interest.
Congrats on a lovely healthy baby, and shouldn’t the Dad be referred to as Mr. Jack Brookbanks? Officially? No? Dunno or actually care.

  33. Belly says:

I noted that the gutter Murdoch web news.com.au site has changed its tune…
Daniela Esler has been out front slagging and dragging Meghan for ages, but her article yesterday focussed on the hypocrisy of how Meghan was treated vs Eugenie around their respective birth announcements.
It made me happy to see her get off the “Evryone bash Meghan” bandwagon

  34. newmenow says:

Paris Hilton looks about 60 years old in that photo and way too much makeup.

  35. Kyliegirl says:

Congratulations to Eugenie and Jack. I like the idea floated above by several commenters that Eugene followed H&M plan not only for their privacy, but to not give the RR any ammunition to go after H&M. I actually like that Jack’s company sent out his work title. The way the birth announcement from BP listed Jack Brooksbank was present really minimized him. Just like Meghan was minimized on the birth certificate in favor of the HRH, the same thing seems to be happening to Jack. Jack has DEFINITELY gotten a much easier time of things in the press, but I imagine behind the scenes things are not rosy for him either. Truly dreadful family. Also, I think it is awesome that the RR’s don’t even care if W&K have said congratulations to the happy family. The only reason they know H&M did is because they asked for comment from their staff. No one even cared to follow-up with W&K. Shame on W&K for not publicly congratulating E&K. I have said it before, all is not well in Cambridge land.

  36. Marni112 says:

I don’t understand how the birth of Meghan s child can be compared to Eugenie’s baby-one was pre – pandemic and the other in the middle of a serious lockdown.

  37. Ravine says:

My friend saw that picture and said “it looks like she gave birth to Thing from the Addams Family” — I died!

  38. blunt talker says:

If Harry and Meghan do have another child -Just do the Justin Timberlake thing-I did not know his wife was pregnant-Next thing a baby is here-It can be done but in the Sussexes case they will hunted down by the British tabloids if they get any inkling it is true-Let’s hope they can keep it to themselves as long as possible.

    • AnonyCat says:

Mindy calling did something similar. She did a socially distanced interview for a late night show and announced on the show that she had a son; yes she had been pregnant and no no one knew about the child or the pregnancy.

I love when people just drop the news on you.
