When I hear news like that about Tina Turner, my reaction is “she’s not inducted yet”??

Apparently she was inducted as a songwriter but is now being inducted as singer?
She was inducted as part of Ike & Tina Turner many years ago. She was way overdue to be inducted on her own.
Ah okay. So she’ll be inducted as a solo artist now, which will make her only the second woman inducted twice, right? (stevie nicks being the first).
I LOVE Tina Turner. All I can say is FINALLY! As BECKS1 said, Tina will be the 2 Nd one into the boys club. Who makes these decisions? They’re judging panel must look like the judging panel for the Golden Globes.
30 years too late! At least she’s still alive and can enjoy this milestone. Great singer, great dancer and no doubt a great woman! Much respect Miss Turner, you were hall of fame in my book always.

This is shocking I’m not sure who votes on these but how in the hell has she been overlooked when mediocre soft rockers with less hits have been nominated before her?

Yea Tina Turner (and yes, WAY WAY WAY OVERDUE), but also a shout to the Go-Go’s!!!! I grew up listening to both powerhouse female artists. Much respect to their ground-breaking talent.
She was inducted with Ike Turner, both invited, putting her in the same room as her abuser long after everyone knew what he had done to her.
The “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame” isn’t an honor. It is a group of wealthy men that formed their own club. They chose inductees based on ticket sales to a dinner. It’s not a group of musicians, it’s executives and investors. I try to stay away from talking about the “hall of fame” as if it has any power to define who is and who isn’t worthy of recognition.
As happy as I am that she’s finally being recognized, this is true. I don’t really care too much about who’s in or who isn’t, but I have to admit, it was a fun place to spend a day at when I was in Cleveland.

She is a legend and an inspiring soul. I love her sound, her energy, and her spirit. A pioneer and a class act.

FINALLY! It was reprehensible that they seemed to think it was adequate she was already in there with her abuser. I would have also been happy if they had taken Ike’s away, and left hers.
That Raya article was really long but this phrase sums it up:

Yay. It should have been long, long before this. She’s simply amazing.
My beloved Depeche Mode finally got in last year after 40 years in the business and very influential to newer music along the way to this very day. But t was the worst year to get inducted. No live ceremony. Taped acceptance speech, each member in a separate place, and no live performance.
