Damiano has great legs – their press conference afterwards was hilarious. He jumped up and waved at himself on the screen shouting Hi to his mum. So cute.
Damiano used to play basketball, he is very fit!
I couldn’t understand why they were the bookies favourite, I didn’t know of them and hadn’t heard of their song until the final. I was rooting for Iceland or Lithuania but when I saw Italy’s performance I liked it and I’m not even a fan of hard rock. I’m following them now on social media and their story is inspiring from busking to this!

I always feel bad when that happens. Even if I hate the song (which I did in this case, and I think the singer was singing “off”). But I’m always glad when those at the bottom at least get some points, even if it’s from their neighbouring countries.
My country (Ireland) is the UK’s close neighbour. We’re not feeling all that favourable towards them right now, wirh all the Brexit B.S. They’ve been known in diplomatic circles as Perfidious Albion for over 700 years so it’s probably not that surprising that they have so few friendly neighbours.

The elves slamming the door after they committed murder was just brilliant – but to be fair they got blamed for blowing the boat up.

Yeah I feel bad for the guy. The song was mediocre but there were other mediocre songs that got points. If Britain didn’t have such a bad reputation I think he would have at least gotten some pity points.
I feel a tiny bit bad for him but he was on several shows like Sunday Brunch and a segment on the semi finals saying he was going to bring it back home or something and I thought, hmmmm, poor thing, does he really think he can win it?! His performance was flat compared to the others who brought their A game. I voted for Lithuania, Portugal and lceland but glad that Italy won as well, there were a lot of strong contenders and it was such a great night to watch. I enjoyed all the performances.
We are very grateful they took last place instead of us 🙂
The video on “not all men” is good but I wish someone would address how to respond and break through to the WOMEN who say “not all men” and seem to view any discussion of misogyny or sexism as a personal attack on the men in their lives.

The French media pushed hard on this, they should be ashamed of themselves. I’m glad that Graham Norton didn’t comment on that when it was showed during the show.
“Louche” is definitely not a type I’m usually attracted to, but for some reason, the individual pictured (not sure of gender) is a yes from me….
He’s a straight cis man. They can wear heels and eye-make-up too and have so at least since the seventies.
Isn’t the goal NOT to assume that everyone is cis/het and err on the side of caution?
@Jamie the goal is to get rid of the restrictive gender roles/stereotypes, the resulting discrimination, the urge to immediately put people into boxes and let them just be the way they are. I don’t see how “oh this is a male person not looking 100% like other male people, I must question their gender identity” is helping here. Either be consistent and apply this to every person you see or don’t, the fact that this only happens to people who don’t fit the gender stereotypes (arguably, he’s literally just a musician with eye-liner) is telling. Every sane trans/non-binary/gnc person will tell you that getting misgendered in an honest mistake is less hurtful than the “cautious” hemming and hawing because they look “different”.
I have a Discord pal on a channel who’s Italian, and I’ve been living for her outraged blow by blow of this whole drama lol. France, in particular, was apparently really salty about their loss and was stirring up a lot of mischief in media over it. I told her it was fitting for how much that band seemed to give off “chaotic bisexual” vibes.
Their song “Zitti E Buoni” is on Spotify, by the way. It’s very catchy. Band is named Maneskin.
It was total BS, a very poor and pathetic attempt on France’s part. Their music might not be of my taste but they’re good guys that send positive messages.

Nobody “started” it, it really looked like he snorted something during the broadcast. I was watching and made the exact same comment to my family – “did he just do drugs on camera live?”. I guess I wasn’t the only one confused. I’m sure many made the same comment on Twitter and it went from there.
He bent his face toward the table briefly to do…something, and people ran with it claiming he was snorting coke on Twitter. Mostly hilarious because if you’ve ever snorted a line or watched somebody do it yourself, you know that was absolutely not what happened there haha.

I didn’t think Anya’s SNL episode was remarkable, but she did a good job with what she was given to work with. She did really well with her monologue, which can be hit or miss for hosts.
You guys, majority of French people don’t give a F about Eurovision. We are actually very surprised that she got second place. Song was quite boring and too Edith Piaf-esque. So cliché.
In fact, this is a good thing that France is not n.1. Organizing and hosting Eurovision cost a lot and seriously….we cannot and don’t want to bear it.

Second place is a great achievement. And what if it was reminiscent of Piaf, people outside France haven’t grown up with Piaf on the radio. I’m saying this as a French living outside France.

We enjoyed watching the show again so much and the Dutch organizers did a great job, I especially loved the homage to some of the past Eurovision winners and some cool ideas like having the numbers of the countdown performed by dancers.

The French girl was pitchy as hell in the finale, same goes for the other hot fave Malta, it became painful to listen to, and don’t get me started on the abomination that was Switzerlands entry, my 2 faves were Iceland and Lithuania, who epitomized everything l love about Eurovision, but since they didn’t win l was extatic that Italy did, and their reaction was adorable
