Alex Rodriguez is done being sad about J.Lo & he’s shilling makeup for men

31st Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala

For the past month, Alex Rodriguez has been playing a sad sack on social media, in gossip media and in life. He wanted it to be known that Jennifer Lopez dumped him, that he was pining away for her, that he was trying to get back with her. Then the phoenix back tattoo awoke and suddenly J.Lo was back with Ben Affleck. A-Rod went even harder into the sad-sack routine, because now he was a wronged man. How dare his hot ex run into the arms of another cheating dirtbag? That’s A-Rod’s thing! He even called J.Lo at some point to complain about how she was jumping off with Ben!! Well, I guess A-Rod got all of that out of his system and he doesn’t want the stench of “loser” to cling to him permanently, because he’s done singing Gladys Knight’s greatest hits alone in his room.

A-Rod is “fine” despite breathless reports that he is hurting badly over the fact that Jennifer Lopez has seemingly moved on from their breakup so fast with Ben Affleck.

“Alex is doing fine,” a source told Page Six on Friday. “He’s been spending time with his family and concentrating on the Timberwolves deal. He’s concentrating on his kids and the team. That’s it.”

Us Weekly, however, quoted an insider Friday as melodramatically saying Rodriguez, 45, is “in a world of pain” over the split, adding, “It’s the first time anyone can remember him being dumped like this, at least publicly.”

“Seeing her running straight back to Ben’s arms is a real kick in the teeth,” the insider told Us Weekly Friday. “There’s a part of him that still clings onto the hope that they’ll wind up together again but deep down he’s had to accept the harsh truth that she’s over him and moving on with Ben.”

That at least jibes with other reports claiming the former Yankees slugger was “shocked” over Lopez and Affleck’s reunion, though insiders close to the Aughts It Couple are not surprised at all. “She was always obsessed with Ben,” a source who knows both Lopez and Affleck told Page Six this month. “They have always loved each other.”

Last week, we actually heard that Jennifer cut off contact with Alex because he was acting so needy, but that’s really just Jennifer’s version of events. I mean, I believed it, but I also believe that Alex is probably fine too. Some of his sad-sack stuff was just a performance, and I buy that his ego was hurt more than his heart.

Meanwhile, did you know that Alex is shilling makeup for men? All makeup is for men! There’s nothing on any makeup packet or bottle that says “women only.” Gentlemen, feel free to use makeup. But A-Rod is trying to normalize it by putting his name on a line of Hims & Hers makeup for men. It actually doesn’t look like a full makeup line? I think he’s just selling concealer? Alex and Jennifer invested in Hims & Hers in 2020.

Leslie Jordan said it best – ARod, you don’t make up with make up!

My husband is a meteorologist, and was on tv for 20 years. He’s not wearing TV makeup every day (which is hilariously minimal compared to what we as women wear for HD cameras) but he still has concealer and brow pencils. He uses the concealer anytime he gets a breakout. It’s so cute because he tries to hide it from me, as if I’m not totally used to seeing him in makeup 😂 Concealer alone is a huge confidence booster for most of the men I’ve worked with.

Almost all products out there can be used by men or women. Do women really need pink razors? Why does it seem like men’s deodorant is stronger? We all sweat. I think we should use whatever products we want. LOL anyone remember when bic tried to sell pink pens to women? My God.

Oh, I know Hims for their hair-loss stuff — supplements and stuff. They have cute millennial branding.

My husband got into makeup awhile back, and he’s kept at it because it looks great on Zoom. He wears Glossier skin tint and concealer every day (I got him BeneFit’s Hoola bronzer when his foundation was looking too one-dimensional). We both really like Kosas right now — specifically their brow pencils and setting powder.
