Lacey: ‘Jealous’ Prince William refers to Meghan as ‘that bloody woman’

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and Prince William at Anzac Day Memorial Service

Robert Lacey had a new piece in the Daily Mail, which basically reads as his final word on the new version of his book, Battle of Brothers. Lacey is trying to keep up to date on all of the comings and goings and of course he sounds incredibly out of touch and patronizing. I don’t doubt that he has some well-sourced tea, but I just think his sources are almost entirely made up of Prince William, William’s staff and Harry’s old friends who hate Meghan. The crux of this Lacey piece is that there are forces at work, behind-the-scenes, trying to get Harry and William to reconcile. Which won’t happen if William keeps telling Lacey that Meghan is a sociopath, a bitch and “that bloody woman.” Some highlights from Lacey’s DM piece:

William & Harry fought after Philip’s funeral: Hopes were dashed within minutes of the siblings getting inside the castle and beyond camera vision. They started quarrelling again. ‘There they were, at each other’s throats as fiercely as ever,’ relates one long-time friend with a tired and helpless shrug. ‘The rage and anger between those two has grown so incredibly deep. Too many harsh and wounding things have been said.’

Will & Harry’s friends are plotting: The oh-so-unforgiving and unforgetting brothers are surrounded by a network of devoted friends and a few family members who are working seriously to ease the path to a truce. And their efforts are matched by deliberate and constructive initiatives being think-tanked inside the Palace. There is a peace plan in action — several plans, in fact.

Harry’s “friends” see why William hates Meghan: Sussex supporters have noted the bizarre combination of self-promotion and self-pity that characterises Meghan, and can see why it has infuriated William. ‘Meghan can be a 500 per cent nightmare,’ some close friends of Harry are among the first to admit. ‘The never-ending PR. She’s just so . . . American!’

The Cambridges’ friends acknowledge that they’re terrible: On the opposite side, friends of William and Kate are willing to concede the jealousy the Cambridges once felt at being overshadowed by the megawatt younger brother and his wife. History will reveal, they agree, how their friends William and Kate were guilty of some ‘sharp-elbowed’ tactics in seeking to keep Harry and Meghan in their place.

Harry is homesick? ‘Homesick Harry’ has been calling UK pals mournfully in recent weeks, since his public complaints against Prince Charles were so poorly received. The Palace adds its own warning shot across his bows. ‘There is sharing,’ says one senior source with emphasis, ‘and then there is over sharing.’

Harry wants to reconcile? I’m told that Harry has been telling friends he would like to reconcile, and is willing to admit some of the missteps he has made. Then he recalls one particular insult or other, as he perceives it, that his brother or family made against Meghan, and he flares up again — ever Mr Combustible.

William can’t give up his hatred of Meghan: William’s friends similarly try to point out to him the Cambridge version of the bottom line. The House of Windsor simply cannot afford to go on ostracising the only mixed-race members of the clan. William has no choice, for example, but to swallow his pride and smile beside Meghan on next year’s Platinum Jubilee balcony. According to one of my sources, it’s been pointed to him that everyone has a difficult sister-in-law. William’s response was to nod his head in sage acceptance. Then suddenly he broke out angrily. ‘But look at the way that bloody woman treated my staff — merciless!’

Charles, meanwhile, is obsessed with Camilla: ‘The main thing Charles wants is for the pair of them to smile on Camilla becoming his full Queen Consort [instead of Princess Consort, as officially pre-ordained at present],’ says one friend. ‘He’s fixated about it — something he never stops trying to negotiate with both of them. But they will never say ‘Yes’ to Camilla taking the place that should have been filled by their mother.’

Courtiers working to broker peace? The top figures in Buckingham Palace are working flat out to bring an end to the present emergency — and make no mistake, they view it as little less than that. Sir Edward Young, the Queen’s private secretary, is organising the impressively rapid sequence of Palace responses to the damage done by the Sussexes’ session with Oprah.

On the bullying accusations: Harry and Meghan, I am told, have drawn up a 30-page dossier in justification of their treatment of staff, setting out precise details of why they parted company with certain personnel. These are murky waters, and who can tell what resolution may be achieved? ‘We will not be providing a public commentary,’ remarks one Palace source. ‘It will take as long as it will take.’

[From The Daily Mail]

One, it’s asinine to claim that Buckingham Palace higher-ups are plotting to force the brothers to reconcile, especially since those same senior courtiers are the very ones smearing Harry. Most recently, those are the same awful people who threw a week-long hissy fit about Lilibet Diana’s name, and they were leaking against Harry to the BBC! Buckingham Palace, Clarence House and Kensington Palace are ALL addicted to the Sussex drama because when people are paying attention to the Sussexes, all kinds of other controversies and dramas can be hidden away.

Two, the whole thing about “everyone has a difficult sister-in-law” is gross, as is “that bloody woman.” It’s been years now, and it says something to me that everyone over there on Salt Island (especially William) is still so focused on the idea that Meghan is the root of all of this. They think that if they can “remove” Meghan from the equation somehow, then everything will be as it was. They can’t deal with the fact that Harry has no desire to play their stupid games anymore, with or without Meghan. If William was actually smart or diplomatic or not engorged with childish contempt, he would see that literally the easiest way to reconcile with Harry is to reach out to Meghan and make peace with HER first. Of course, William would never.

  1. Lauren says:

Why would you want the knowledge that you refer to your sister-in-law in such deplorable language? Once again he is not realizing that rage monster is not a good look to have, and he even goes in and adds some casual misoginoir. Why would Harry want to talk with these people if this is what his brother thinks about his wife? That whole firm needs to go.

    • Cecilia says:

Meghan said her piece about the royals in march and hasn’t referred to them since. And even in march she was continually talking about “the firm” as opposed to the family.

Yet 3 months on we get leak after leak about how the Cambs didn’t like her from the beginning (without reason might i add) and what degrading names staff and william have been calling her, all very specific. But that its somehow justified because meg was just so awful (accusations they can’t specify).

Who exactly is bullying whom? Because the way prince william and his staff have been acting i find it very hard to believe that Meghan was the bully.

      • taris says:

h&m showed the windsors some grace by distinguishing between the firm/the family and by not naming names – though they could have, because they know more than they’ve let on.

so here are these morons, basically exposing themselves and self-destructing in the process. h&m said meghan was welcome by the family (in the beginning), yet the latest PR moves seem determined to prove otherwise. these smears are only winning them points with their established older, conservative, (racist) base, but damn are they making themselves look foolish.

      • Amy Too says:

Cecilia, but she was mercilessly American! Doesn’t that count as bullying? *eyeroll*

      • Tour-malin says:

And “she is just so … American”. What does that even mean? Do these folks realise that every time they open their mouth they sound more and more ethnocentric and racist? Or should I say that “they are just so … British”

      • Mrs.Krabapple says:

        @TOUR-MALIN,
Yes, the way the royal family and it’s supporters are acting, they have made the word “British” synonymous with “Racist.”

      • ➕💯 Cecilia. And I totally agree with KAISER’s take on all Lacey article. All I can say is, with “friends and Sussex supporters” like Harry’s, who needs enemies. Does Lacey really think these “friends” of Harry’s are (a) still friends or (b) really Sussex supporters?

And, I know this is just me cringing…..but, I hope to God Harry isn’t really emailing and calling endlessly to “fix” this. It can’t be fixed if they can’t take their rabid jaws off Meghan.

      • Agreatreckoning says:

Lying liars tell lies. The whole bullying story seems to be made up from the start. What 2 employees filed complaints then withdrew said complaints out of fear or something-maybe not working at KP too. The smear campaign kicked into high drive fall of 2018 with the crying story. The bullying allegations came out right before the Oprah interview was to air, right?-my timeline could be wrong. H & M moved out of KP end of March 2019?, split from the foundation June 2019. Meghan wasn’t protected. Are we/people really suppose to believe that KP sat on this for what, 8-9 months out of the goodness of their “hearts”? Columbo would say it doesn’t add up with everything else. Meghan’s been civil & professional with her words and the rage monster has not. The bully is and always has been William/Kate. I don’t think Harry has been trying to fix anything. He’s not the one that needs to put forth the work.

    • My Two Cents says:

the joke is that does anyone really believe William would be so angry over how how his staff was treated? Like does he actually give a sh*t one way or the other about them? and suddenly he’s SO angry about that bloody woman who treaded his staff this way? It’s laughable really. Except that this going public like that shows yet again, he is NO Statesman, like they would have you believe.

      • Sunday says:

I don’t know, I totally believe it – he couldn’t imagine why his elevensies (brought in on a silver tray, of course) was behind schedule, and lo and behold, it was because THAT WOMAN was making HIS staff do WORK! for HER! and CHARITIES! There are POOR PEOPLE THERE! How dare she!!

(lol, but seriously, I can see him being angry that a Biracial American Divorcee was giving his staff more work than he was, both in volume and importance, and that destroying his fragile little eggshell of an ego.)

      • Ginger says:

No, because he is known to be pretty snobby to his staff and very cold.

      • Jay says:

It makes sense if you view it in the context of William viewing his employees as his personal property, part of his power and prestige and “name”. I don’t believe for one second that he really cares about whether his staff was bullied (and notice there are no details given), but he likely views it as an insult to himself. It’s a stain on his honour! If this were the middle ages, he would have challenged someone to a duel, but it’s not, so all he can do is whine to Robert Lacey.

      • Elizabeth Kerri Mahon says:

Notice how he refers to them as “his staff.” I was under the impression that, at the time, the staff worked for William, Kate, Harry, and now Meghan, not William exclusively. And I also have to point out that no one who worked for Harry and Meghan at Buckingham Palace has complained about how they were treated by the couple.

      • MsIam says:

What’s really crazy is for him to be mad about it going on three years later. Mad enough to toss his only sibling out the window. Most of the people involved don’t work there anymore. And yet no one in the press seems to think this is strange. The truth of what’s behind this has to come out for this to end. Fourteen years later we can’t still be claiming that William is mad at Harry over how Meghan treated his “staff”.

      • TabithaD says:

Yep. He clearly hates her and has done so from the start – but the real reasons he hates her cannot be admitted to (cos she’s “taking Harry away”, cos W+T are jealous, cos she’s American, cos she’s biracial). I do believe that’s why William has decided to say she’s bullying staff. He’s invited a “reason” to justify himself (and that will come back to bite him on the arse hard). He doesn’t give a stuff about the staff. I can only imagine how he treats them himself.

      • iconoclast59 says:

@Elizabeth Kerri Mahon, going with that observation, I wonder if William’s angry because “his” staff pulled him into this; i.e., they didn’t like Meghan telling them to do actual work and so they complained to him (or made sure their complaints reached him). My many years in the workforce have taught me that upper management/VIPs hate, hate, HATE being pulled into interpersonal conflicts. And yes, they often react with anger and petulance when it happens. Because he’s hated Meghan from the get-go, he’s all too eager to conclude that she’s the culprit. Taking the time to really look into the accusations and get both sides of the story would require him to 1) exert some effort and 2) challenge his assumptions about Meghan. William is not willing to do either.

      • BooyahB!tches says:

Bottom line? Willy has serious hots for Meghan, and hates himself for it; that hate twists into violent little outbursts of frustration. Harry got the girl, Willy got …. well, Waity Katy…he’s plain old jealous.

    • Moxylady says:

Let’s all note that William hates Meghan for the way she treated his staff. He’s so noble. His anger so warranted. What utter garbage. As though we all don’t remember the past three years of his uncontrollable rage and his non stop abuse of her? F this.

      • Agree, MoxyLady. This BS storyline comes off like the endless, oft repeated party-line that all Harry’s unjustified, over-the-top anger arose from William just lovingly counseling him to simply slow down his relationship with Meghan. Well, even William now is revealing that was BS; that what was said and done was so very much worse.

    • Isabella says:

Picking on a woman, let alone a multiracial woman, makes William and the royal family look racist, sexist, small and stupid.

  2. Nomegusta says:

    ‘So American’

These inbred aristos can go to hell. They’re all built weird anyways.

    • Kalana says:

They love using American imagery to embiggen their own projects -Earthshot etc., but they don’t actually like Americans.

    • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

“So American…” SO telling. “So American” is the ultimate diss, the *one* thing they can’t get past, they can’t accept.

If Meghan was biracial/BRITISH, it’d *might’ve* been an easier pill to swallow. But Biracial AND American…. and one that is a go-getter, not content to sit on her ass and do NOTHING????? Well…we can’t have that, can we?

      • Carmen-JamRock says:

Ha ha…no one believes M’s American-ness is the reason for their bullying of her. As you pointed out, if she were biracial and had everthing else that M has except that she were british, what reason would they give for their objection to her, i wonder.

So nah. American is being used here as a substitute for “black.” Which, as we all know, is what they REEEALLLLY cant stand.

      • Izzy says:

Which one of us gets to tell them that their POS PM BoJo was… wait for it… born in the US and spent part of his childhood here.

      • Me says:

The xenophobia is strong—they definitely hate her for being ni-racial, but they absolutely hate her for being dreadfully American too—anglophiles beware!

      • Mrs.Krabapple says:

In addition to race, Meghan’s being American is something that caused the royalists to suddenly rally around Kate as a perfect wife. Because they can’t allow that other kind of woman to show up the Brits with how obviously superior (smarter, harder working, more dynamic, more fashionable), she is to the lazy English woman.

      • Agree. “So American” is now code for “so black”. But as William and Charles have made it clear that they are not racist they have now started using a code word: It’s not that she’s biracial, it’s that she’s American. Please! Do they really think we are all as stupid as they are?

      • Agree. “So American” is now code for “so black”. But as William and Charles have made it clear that they are not racist they have now started using a code word: It’s not that she’s biracial, it’s that she’s American. Please! Do they really think we are all as stupid as they are?

    • equality says:

The “never ending PR is so American”. I have seen far less PR and BS put out by H&M than by the palaces and W&K. Is the never-ending BS so British?

      • Jay says:

Exactly – Lacey himself is an example of William’s familiarity with PR tactics. W and K do just as much PR, I think the rub is that Meghan and Harry seem to be so much better at it.

      • Ann says:

They just hate that her “PR” is more effective. And smarter.

    • Liz version 700 says:

I hope the rumors of an American tour are true. I would love to see the reception that Rage Monster PWT and Lynchpin receive. Stop trying to sell stuff to us and then talk about how much you hate us buddy. Geezus the more I hear about this family the easier it is you understand how we ended up dumping their tea in the harbor

      • equality says:

I hope not. Why should the US pay for a tour by a RF that has nothing to do with our country?

    • Scorpion says:

I bet he called her worst names than that. They are so comfortable calling her a B, damaged goods in public, can you imagine what they called her in private blic.

    • Susan says:

Reminds me of Ross’s dad on Friends—when Emily’s family was disparaging of Americans. He told them if it weren’t for those awful Americans, they’d be speaking German right now.

      • Emily says:

Based on what I see in the media, a lot of Brits seem to think that Winston Churchill killed Hitler all by himself.

      • Ann says:

Ha I hadn’t seen that. I have seen a lot of on-line spats between Brits and Americans about that, mostly on Game Of Thrones forums that I used to visit during the show. The thing is, Churchill was half American, as Brits seem to like to forget. He liked America and he actively sought FDR’s intervention. He loved FDR too.

      • Amanda says:

And the thing that kills me is that for all the worship of Winston Churchill by the Brits? Guess what, his mother was AMERICAN. She was a pretty huge influence on his life, including giving him a ton of political advice that influenced a lot of his decisions. While they weren’t close when he was a child because she didn’t raise him (she was wealthy and nannies and boarding school was used to raise children), they were best friends as adults and constantly wrote each other. Lady Randolph Churchill was famous for how bold and educated she was. Because she was one of those wealthy Americans who cam to Britain to marry a cash poor but title rich lord. And like Meghan, she blew all of those boring Brit socialite women out of the water.

    • pottymouth pup says:

so we’re supposed to believe that Harry is calling his former friends that hate his wife to discuss how homesick he is & details on how he wants to reconcile? I highly doubt Harry’s maintaining contact w/the aristos that just can’t with Meghan, let alone pouring out his heart & soul to them

    • Vavavoom says:

I am Canadian, and over 20 years ago I visited my relatives in the UK (my Dad was born there). I’ll never forget at a club one night after dancing with some people, we started talking and they said “oh, you’re American” … I said “No, Canadian”. They said “oh that’s better”. Americans have always been looked at as lesser by many brits.

      • Jaded says:

I once had an American woman come at me on a blog discussing WWII and she was of the firm belief that America saved the world and Canadians merely “hung on to American coattails” during the war. I quickly reminded her that Canada was in the war 2 years before America, that we liberated the Netherlands, were a huge part of the Normandy invasion as well as a full-scale invasion of Italy. My own father did numerous bombing missions with the RCAF in North Africa, was shot down and survived, and Canadians were instrumental in defeating Rommel’s troops. The Royal Canadian Navy numbered nearly 100,000 personnel and nearly 400 vessels. Funnily enough she never responded…. 🙂

    • Susan says:

I chuckle at the anti American sentiment expressed by snobby Brits. It’s kind of like when i say: “That multimillion dollar mansion you have is so tacky. And such a waste! Pools and tennis courts and unlimited resources suck. I am much happier in my cozy one bedroom apartment with no AC and resident rats, its much classier.” LOL.

      • Babz says:

Well, if we’re “so American,” and they find that distasteful, there is a way to respond to that. No more trade agreements (which they are desperate for), no financial bailouts if they’re ever needed, no more “special relationship.” They may not like Americans, but they sure as hell have loved our money over the years, beginning with the Millionaire Princesses, who saved countless aristo estates through marriage in the 1890s and early 1900s. The ladies got a title out of it, but the money was the key. They loved our money and our munitions during WW2, which, don’t get me wrong, was a necessary thing for us to do. But I suspect, even then, they were hateful and rude to us and about us behind our backs. If PWT is trying to influence American media coverage about the Sussexes, and is eying a future US tour, he may find that the reception they get could be terribly, terribly (said in my most posh, snooty British accent) chilly, and the crowds small. That slap at being “so American” isn’t something easily forgotten.

    • elsavita Williams says:

The Royal family in my estimation are nobodies; After reading the following jaw-dropping, eye-popping book about them. They are morally bankrupt and have always been. Ordinary folks were punished for less for the sort of things that their forebearers and they have done.

The book is written by Peter Fearon

“Behind Palace Walls., The Rise and Fall of Britain’s Royal Family”

A thorough researcr was done by the author.

    • Pat says:

      😯🤭😂😂😂😂💯

  3. Seraphina says:

I believe their friends want them to reconcile. I believe that Chuck is too focused on Cams to focus on his kids. I believe Harry may be a bit homesick. It would strange if he were not – that is where he grew up and spent his childhood and some of his adult life. I also believe Wills calls Meghan what he does because to Wills EVERYONE is beneath him – including his wife and his brother so why no Meghan who he blames for this schism.
I also believe their friends see Meghan’s character as self-promotion and self-pity – because their friends are just like Wills (I’ll exclude Harry because he has had an awakening). These men and women are no different in background and upbringing than the royal princes so why should they understand and empathize with Meghan? It’s just interesting that now they label these characteristics as negative because they all self promote (look at Middletons) and self-pity – look at Chuck.
Also – Wills cannot being himself to say her name???? What kind of power does that unleash WIlly? If you say Meghan’s name three times maybe all his gardening and nastiness will be brought to light.

    • Cecilia says:

I just find it strange because those same “friends” went to Tom Bradby in 2017 (after the engagement announcement) saying that Meghan left a deep impression on them and that they were the ones to encourage harry to propose to her, otherwise she might slip away.

      So who is lying?

      • equality says:

How do you know it’s the same “friends”. Nobody is ever called by name. The real friends of Harry such as Nacho Figueras and Dean Stott who make statements publicly with their name behind them are more impressive.

      • Cecilia says:

@equality: if it were friends like dean and nacho, their names would be stated. Im sorry but i find it very hard to believe that friends of harry would talk to the press. Even if they don’t like meghan. The language used matches that of royal courtiers, derangers and fellow royal rota.

      • Myra says:

“Friends” usually mean a palace aide or an editor at a newspaper. Using ‘my palace source’ all the time might be too obvious.

      • L4frimaire says:

This friend reconciliation is pure BS. Harry has a lot of friends and a true friend would not say it’s ok for your brother to talk shit about your wife the way William has about Meghan. This is strictly to benefit William because it makes him look good if they “reconcile”. He only wants the appearance of it and wants to get Harry back from Meghan be sue it’s a control issue for him. This guy is forever stuck in 2018.

    • Eurydice says:

I don’t understand this thing about Charles and Camilla. I mean, I get that Charles would want her to be Queen Consort, but what do his sons have to do with it? How would their “approval” matter in any way? And Lacey makes it sound like the thing that’s keeping Charles from reconciling with Harry is approval of Camilla – since when? Maybe they can trade – Harry will approve of Camilla if Charles approves of Meghan – really none of this makes sense.

      • Becks1 says:

I honestly don’t think Harry gives two sh!ts what Camilla is called when Charles is king. That’s something that I think matters way more to William. He wants his wife (ahem not necessarily Kate) to be the next Queen, not Camilla. But why would it matter to Harry? Harry has known for the majority of his life that his mother wasn’t going to be queen – I mean it was known for a year or two before her death. I don’t think that Harry is holding that over Charles’s head.

      • Eurydice says:

I agree, Becks1 – this argument is weird and trying to connect it to Harry seems out of the blue. I don’t know anything about how the Queen Consort thing works, but is it up to William at all? And when Will becomes king, why can’t his wife (NNK – Not Necessarily Kate) become the next Queen then?

      • Becks1 says:

HA I love the “NNK” lol.

I only think its up to William from a PR standpoint. Like that Charles wants William to say “yes Camilla will be queen and we support that.” But it should be noted its like the Duchess of Cornwall thing – as it stands now, Camilla WILL be “queen consort,” she just won’t be called Queen Camilla, she’ll be called princess consort (like how she is currently the Princess of Wales, she’s just not called that.) So I think Charles may just want public PR support.

but Meghan and Harry want some public PR support too from Charles so I dont see why they would help him.

      • Becks1 says:

Also, there was a theory that we discussed here or on twitter a week or so ago, and it had something to do with this story -basically that Charles is saving all his PR capital for making Camilla queen. I know we talked about it but I can’t remember what started the discussion – i think there may have been a random quote that was kind of like “huh, thats interesting.” But at any rate – that goes along with this tidbit from Lacey. Charles is sitting out this debacle and letting William just run wild because he is getting his ducks in a row for making Camilla queen.

      • Chelsea says:

The bizarre thing is that if Charles hadn’t been so s**tty the last couple of years Harry would’ve 100% publicly supported him when he tried to make Camilla Queen Consort. Harry has publicly said nice things about Camilla in the past just like he’s publicly defended Kate in the past because Harry is the one who actually wanted his family to be happy and was willing to be the good soldier and help protect their spouses against public intrusion or criticism. I can’t imagine how much it hurts him to see his family not only fail to do same for him and Meghan but actively work to try and destroy his marriage, wife, and happiness. Chuck threw his greatest ally under the bus so he’s stuck with his Judas son and it’s what he deserves.

      • Feeshalori says:

@Becks1 – I believe that discussion about Charles hoarding his good PR was about not issuing new Letters Patent to remove Archie and Lili’s prince/ss titles when he becomes king. That’s deemed an unpopular move and Charles would want all his big PR guns focused on Camilla becoming QC.

      • Becks1 says:

@Feeshalori – YES thank you that was exactly it! That plays right into this narrative of Charles wanting both boys to support Camilla as Queen – he’s not going to do anything to piss off Harry when it comes to titles etc bc he wants Harry to stick his neck out for him when it comes to Camilla.

(I should say “anything else” to piss off Harry bc its clear that Charles has burned a lot of bridges with him….)

      • Ann says:

I wonder if Camilla herself cares that much about being called Queen.

      • equality says:

@Ann I agree. I think it is more important to Charles because he would see it as acceptance of how he treated Di and establishing his backstory of true love with Camilla.

      • Seraphina says:

I agree with the sentiment that Chuck is saving PR for Queen Cams and that he needs Harry and doesn’t want to piss him off too much. But why not take his calls?
I also agree that Cams could care less, she is living her best life. Maybe if she was 25/30 I could see her caring but at her age, no.
I also agree that this Queen Cams bit is not about Cams, the great love of Charles’ life but it will be a triumph as @equality stated. Ironic when one thinks about it.

      • notasugarhere says:

If Camilla is publicly called Princess Consort, it sets precedent for William’s wife (whomever she is at the time) to be Princess Consort too. Careful what you wish for, Billy.

      • Saucy&Sassy says:

I don’t understand why it’s such a big deal for Camilla to be Queen Consort. Diana said she would never been queen. After her death, it never occurred to me that people would link Diana with being queen. Maybe I’m being too logical, but I think PC should make her his Queen Consort when he becomes King. If there’s any negative PR, I doubt it will last long. Wills needs to get a grip when PC becomes King. PC may put up with some crap, but I have no doubt he can and will shut Willie down when he decides to. It would be damaging to the monarchy for the two of them to be fighting in the press.

      • LMR says:

Camilla probably deflowered Charles and he has been grateful and obsessed with her ever since. She gives off a casual “sure, why not?” air about the whole thing. I think if her first husband had been loving, attentive and faithful, she might never have given Charles the time of day.

    • Nina says:

Chuck was always too focused on himself and Camilla. He never really saw those kids as anything else but the heir and the spare. That’s the whole issue right there

      • Liz version 700 says:

That is 100% the truth. Charles treated his kids as accessories he could wear when it suited him.

      • Seraphina says:

That’s true. It’s always been about himself and Cams no matter what the cost. At some point, it makes one question Cams and the role she plays. Now that I think of it, I would love to see some crazy PR released in the same manner as is done about Kate on Cams.

      • Vavavoom says:

I agree! And those are Diana’s kids more than his in his mind for sure. He just needed an heir but all he ever wanted was Camilla. And I 100% think Camilla cares about becoming Queen. She always seems relaxed and such, but don’t let her act fool you.. She’s out only for herself and Charles.

I don’t think Charles needs ‘approval’ from his sons, he just wants a big happy photo op that shows the public that they approve of Camilla. It’s all about optics for him. That’s how he was raised!

PS: I still think it was Camilla that said the comment about Baby Sussex’s skin colour. She seems very off the cuff and crass, (which is a more down to earth quality about her actually) especially behind closed doors I’d imagine she’d say whatever she was thinking.

      • Susan says:

Hasn’t Chuck always been 100 percent self-focused and thus, all his life issues? remember the rumor about the honeymoon, that he brought a journal and poetry books and basically ignored Diana so she had to go hang with the kitchen staff?

      • Saucy&Sassy says:

vavavoom, no I’m don’t agree that Camilla was the one to ask about the color of the baby’s skin. I firmly believe that was PW. Interesting that you float that thought.

    • elsavita Williams says:

Can you imagine what he would do when he becomes King? I read in the Battle of Brothers (the first book) that he was violent, snotty, a bully, and ill-tempered since he was a little boy of three. His behaviour at Nursery School was deplorable. he bullied his way to the front of the line and when told he could not do it he would say” that he will be a king”.

  4. Jais says:

Yeah anyone who spoke to Lacey is not Harry’s friend, esp. if they call Meghan a nightmare and say he is calling them up from Cali and mournful. Really dislike when they try to characterize Harry as somehow regretful and homesick. Calling Harry Mr. Combustible. Think they’re trying to make that happen to distract from Mr. Incandescent.

    • Ginger says:

His “friend” is probably Tom Inskip, the guy that Harry froze out because he said racist stuff about Meghan. He has been going to the press to speak about how awful Meghan is.

I don’t buy a word of this. Harry himself has said that he has no regrets, he feels that he is meant to be in CA, he is in a much better place, he finds London to be a trigger, etc Harry doesn’t hide behind sources, he speaks his truth with his whole chest. I will believe him over “sources” from Robert Lacey ( who is no better than a RR)

      • taris says:

they’ll continue to run with the “harry regrets everything and is so so sorry” line until jesus returns

    • equality says:

Supposed “friends” are leaking nasty things about you and your wife. Your own brother and family members put out nasty things. EVERY DAY there is somebody waiting in line to attack and nitpick every thing you do and your family doesn’t care. Who would NOT be “combustible”? Are these people stupid?

      • Saucy&Sassy says:

equality, they keep making it clear that they want Harry back (the rrs), but do this. Yes, they are that stupid–the brf and rrs.

    • Merricat says:

Actual friends of the Sussexes don’t talk to press.

    • Susan says:

I think we’ve all had THOSE friends that only like us when we are the life of the party and the cool wild one. Unfortunately, *most* of us mature and grow up and no longer fit that mold. the friends that don’t like our growth are the bitter bettys IMO.

  5. Sofia says:

So nice of William to let his misogyny and xenophobia for Meghan shine through. (Sarcasm).

Even if my sister-in-law was a piece of shit (I don’t think Meghan is) I would /never/ refer to her like this to my friends and wouldn’t let them repeat my words to an author to write in his book.

    • Cecilia says:

I would never make it public. It would legit just stay within the family. Yet we’ve been getting stories like this since mid-2018

      • elsavita Williams says:

That only reinforces exactly what Harry and Meghan said on Oprah. Meghan should never set foot back in the UK again unless she goes with her own bodyguard and says in a Hotel. I don’t trust Cain and the Firm; they may just pull a “Diana” on her.

    • EnormousCoat says:

Personally, I vote that we monetize this by creating and selling “That Bloody Woman” t-shirts. How’s that for American?

      • BeanieBean says:

        Very. And I like it!

      • Sofia says:

Ah. Another “Nasty Woman” moment? I like that.

      • equality says:

Meghan needs one to wear on her next appearance.

      • ABritGuest says:

Good one! Forgot that the former guy said Meghan had been nasty about him& that she was bad news. What is it about Meghan that has Piers Morgan, Donald Trump & Prince William so bothered? William is coming across as obsessed as Piers.

No that I believe that liar Piers but when he claimed he had been thanked by someone connected with the royal family & then posed by KP makes me wonder if he just did that knowing bts how much William & his issues with Meghan was behind the smear campaign. He also claimed that William told Harry to marry a dim conservative blonde.

      • notasugarhere says:

With all proceeds to benefit Archewell Foundation.

      • 👚 “Team: That Bloody Woman”

      • Passerby says:

        Would purchase!

  6. Amelie says:

I don’t believe he has any sources close to the Sussexes and certainly none that would call Meghan 500% nightmare and self pitying and PR. She’s barely seen or heard from and when she’s in the spotlight she’s being dragged by every corner. Spare me.

I also don’t believe Harry is telling people he wants to reconcile or that he’s super home sick. Sure he may miss some aspects but please… this crap is so clearly from PWT.

  7. Oh_Hey says:

I don’t know know how you think you can reconcile with your brother while calling his recently post partum wife “that bloody woman” in public.
If it looks bad and racist and you don’t know why then at this point no one can help them understand.

    • anotherlily says:

William is boorish towards his own wife whereas Harry has always behaved as a gentleman with Kate.

  8. India says:

His omnipresent clench jaw is just beautiful.

    • My3cents says:

I’m going with Kaiser’s clenched asshole from yesterday’s post. Pure gold.

  9. Woke says:

It’s so funny to me to watch them from the outside not see that Meghan is the diplomatic one. If they apologized to her and stopped smearing her she would get Harry to stop blasting them every chance he gets. The press would never stop but at least Harry will not expose them anymore.

None of Harry’s friends spoke to Lacey.

I’m glad Meghan’s lawyer’s are keeping the pressure.

    • Cecilia says:

I hope her lawyers are demanding the conclusion of that “investigation” sooner because as long as its ongoing they can’t go public with a rebuttal. What is taking them so long anyways.

      • anotherlily says:

Investigation reveals more evidence against William and his staff than against Meghan.

  10. Digital Unicorn says:

It’s beyond obvious that the Cambridges were very jealous of the Sussex popularity – we don’t need these ‘friends’ to tell us that. The bottom line is that they will never ever admit to or apologies for it and everything else they have done.

As for the nonsense of Harry want to reconcile – based on the Oprah interview they only person he seemed willing to build a relationship with was his father.

If this keeps up the Sussex’s will drop whatever tea they have and it won’t be pretty for the Cambridges as I still believe that both of them were behind comments about Archie’s skin colour. Harry will burn them if it comes to it.

    • Jais says:

Do like how the friends agree that history will reveal that William and Kate engaged in some “sharp-elbow tactics.” If even your friends will agree on this? Lol. But I want more details on these guilty tactics they used to keep them in their place. Omfg. And when history will explicitly reveal them in the tabloids. Like we know obv but please reveal it some more for those in the back.

      • equality says:

Are these the same aristo friends whose comments Kate objected to in Tatler? Talk about self-pity and PR, getting that article edited was exactly that.

    • Feeshalori says:

After this comment, I’m convinced it was William who asked about the baby’s skin color. The man has no filter and his brother won’t reconcile with him as long as he trashes his wife.

    • Ginger says:

It’s very clear that Lacey got these quotes from his “sources” before Harry’s docu series came out. Harry spoke at length about how awful he found royal life and London and how Meghan helped him heal and how thankful he is for her. These quotes look ridiculous. They make it seem like Harry misses his narcissistic brother and royal like when Harry has said how awful it is.

I’m going to believe a man that speaks with his whole chest over one that hides behind royal sources.

      • Jais says:

This literally feels like William and “a friend” went to Lacey directly after the Oprah interview. Not sure how long it takes to write the new chapters and have ready for publication but this feels very reactive and dare I say “unhinged.” Wonder if William feels like this coming out now is really a great idea or if hindsight allows him to see how terrible it was to go strait to Lacey before taking a breath. But it’s William so probably not.

      • Ginger says:

It’s probably after the Oprah interview but definitely before Harry’s docu series. It would take some time to write new chapters and he is with a publisher.

      • Becks1 says:

I wonder if this isn’t a direct reaction to the Oprah interview but part of the pre-emptive strikes before it. Like William went to a few people before the interview to make sure the whole world knew how horrible Meghan was (i.e. the bullying story in the Times) and Lacey was one of them. Or Lacey asked someone at KP about the bullying allegations and got *all this.* because this definitely feels like its about making clear that Meghan was a HUGE bully but still with zero details.

      • Jay says:

Interesting – that timing (directly after Oprah, but before the Me You Can’t See interview) would also line up with the preemptive bullying allegations to try to hurt Meghan’s credibility AND also that reportedly Charles and William were in favour of making a “direct response” to refute the claims in the Oprah interview, but were convinced instead to go with the “recollections may vary” and “very much not a racist family” etc.

I don’t know if it was the queen or a staffer that convinced them how stupid it would be to try to refute the Oprah interview, that it might lead to even more damage but maybe… one of them didn’t listen?

It would be on brand for William to believe he is a publicity “genius” who knows better than everyone else. I could see him petulantly spilling his guts about all the ways in which “that bloody woman” has wronged him, and think “There! That’ll be the end of that!”, not realize how damning it all is. He’s got low self awareness and even lower impulse control.

  11. Eurydice says:

Oh, dear lord – I can only hope this is the final word from Lacey, but somehow I don’t think it is.

OK, so Meghan is sooooo American. Yes, she is. Also, she’s not from a family anointed by God and revered for only breathing. We groundlings who struggle in the muck have to self-promote; nobody else will do it for us.

And I don’t for one minute believe that William is enraged on behalf of his employees. Seriously, does anyone believe that?

But I do believe that some kind of peace plan is brewing inside the palace.

    • equality says:

No, I don’t see William concerned for his staff any more than he was concerned for the deliveryman he made fun of for being checked out by security or for the housekeeper who left their employee because of being expected to do everything at Anmer. That’s just trying to keep up the bullying accusations. I hope H&M’s lawyers burn them badly on that one.

      • notasugarhere says:

That was the second housekeeper who was overworked and stressed out by their demands. The first one left after five months, because the Midds moved in and wouldn’t leave.

      • windyriver says:

The one staff member I can see Will having any concern over is Jason Knauf, because Jason was so important to Will behind the scenes for so long. Jason, whose friend was Melissa Toubati, who he helped get a PA position with Meghan, and who the Sussexes let go for reasons I think involving lack of proper qualifications (and possibly something more serious). IIRC Toubati let loose a bit of whiney nastiness to the press after she was let go. One theory here has been, Jason based his “Meghan is a bully” claim on Toubati’s situation, but it doesn’t bear closer scrutiny, because very likely she was guilty of the infractions for which she was fired. Hence, the RF now really wants the bullying investigation to disappear, so the report is pushed off until 2022, and Will has lost Jason, who is out the door, supposedly following his husband to a new job.

I’d be surprised if Will even knows the names of most of the other staff that work at KP.

      • Humbugged says:

Knauf’s friend was sleepng with her

    • Saucy&Sassy says:

Eurydice, When you say peace plan are you talking about a détente–or should I say an appearance of a détente? I wonder if W&K are capable of that. Frankly, I think H&M were prepared for the appearance at the Commonwealth appearance in March 2020, but W&K shot that down dang quick. I just don’t think they are capable of doing this.

      • Eurydice says:

I would say appearance of détente. At this point, I think the “Firm” is reaching the limit of how much they can trash Meghan. As the Oprah interview recedes into the distance, the media is reduced to rehashing “Meghan’s a bully” and “she made Kate cry” – and even those are losing steam. The horrible flurry about Lilibet died down relatively quickly and they’re not even bothering to count the number of bathrooms anymore. H&M aren’t providing red meat or diversions from whatever the palace would rather not be seen (Andrew? W&K estrangement?)

So, snubbing is out of style and now the press wants reconciliation. Harry doesn’t need it, Meghan doesn’t need it, but I’ll bet TQ is tired of the situation and Charles would like to come out of hiding. I don’t think W&K are capable of much, but I do think they can take orders – and if TQ and PC tell them to shut up and play nice, it’s not beyond them. But groundwork has to be set first, and that’s what I think is happening right now.

    • Roslyn says:

Megan is “too American” for William’s liking because she is a forthright woman who doesn’t revere the BRF in the way Brits are raised from birth to do, by osmosis if not by express training, and doesn’t see any reason for them, and in particular William and Kate and their children, to be entitled to special treatment, and I bet she thinks the bowing and curtseying business and having an order of precedence for walking into a room is laughable. This Australian feels the same way.

As for William claiming to treat his staff well, how about that time when he was supposed to join them for a movie night – I can’t remember the details or find them by googling, but it was a special occasion, maybe at Christmas, and he didn’t want to watch the scheduled movie so he changed it to something he wanted to see, then he didn’t turn up.

  12. swirlmamad says:

LOL….Harry’s “friends”, a.k.a. Tom Inskip. Get a life, Lacey. I hope the sales of your trash-ass book crashes and burns.

William is disgusting. Does he really think there’s any chance of reconciliation when he is degrading his brother’s wife in public? Preside over your sad little kingdom all by your lonesome, Willy boy. You deserve everything that’s coming your way.

    • Jan says:

Harry don’t play games, Tom is still butt hurt that he was not invited to the evening reception and Oprah was, Uncle Charles was not invited also.

    • BabsORIG says:

I believe there is a good reason Robert Lacey is updating his book with this many chapters. It means, at least to me, that the book flopped badly. So now he is scrambling and fallen back on the tired tricks “bash Meghan, call her a witch, a ni%%er, etc and blame her for everything that happened to the Windsors” in hopes that the added material will boost the sales. If his sales ever improve, I’ll sell him a bridge in London; mark my words. There is something all these fools have failed to understand, something Omid saw way back, but the rest of them are too dense to see or understand: that an honest (closest to honest of course) truthful narrative will sell much more better than these tired “black people are the cause of all evil” tropes, but hey Lacey, Campbell etc, etc…you keep doing you….I guess.

  13. Imogene says:

I cannot wait for his humiliation and downfall. It will happen. He is too messy and something is clearly up with him and he and kate.

  14. DellT says:

If a man cannot respect his brother’s wife. then there should be no reconciliation. They want harry back in the fold to be their fall guy and to share the weight of the Monarchy. They cant stand his independence, cant stand that he managed to go out on his on and make a life for himself and his family. The RR and members of the family have had to sit by and watch frat boy harry grow up, buck the system, and do what they could only dream. Ppl like Lacey will struggle with this for the rest of their lives, as will William. The Royal Family is greatly diminished in the absence of harry, which is why he remains their focal point. Hes long gone and they need to accept it.

  15. Alexandria says:

This dude is not a historian. Nuff said. I didn’t know gossipers are now historians? We should all call ourselves historians now.

    • Ginger says:

Lacey used to be a well respected historian but he has now proven that everyone has a price. He is cashing in on the Sussex’s popularity. He is no better than a RR. He still needs his “in” with the palaces and will do whatever it takes to keep that.

      • TheAnonymousPimpernel says:

What respected historian refuses to delve into the subject of race when writing a book about a black woman entering an all white institution?

      • equality says:

        @Anon Good point.

    • MonicaQ says:

As a historian, I am disgusted to count him among my ranks. He can go with the other ROTA rats.

  16. Snuffles says:

Yeah, I don’t think Harry is homesick AT ALL. Or concerned how his comments were received on Saltine Island.

The only thing I can believe is that Harry wishes things calm down enough that everyone can be civil with each other. But that means EVERYONE over there must treat his wife with respect and stop flinging shit at her 24/7.

    • fluffy_bunny says:

He might miss some foods and little things like that but I’m sure he can have whatever he’s missing shipped to him or might even be able to find something that works at a half decent grocery store. Mine has an international aisle and I can find British stuff there.

      • swirlmamad says:

I’m in NY and there is a British grocery shop not all that far from me. He’s not living somewhere totally homogeneous — CA is similar in that there are plenty of expats living there; I can guarantee there are tons of shops and restaurants where Harry can get his Brit fix pretty easily, and if not he certainly has the means to have whatever it is he wants shipped to his door! They WISH he was moping around all day and night pining for their dusty asses. He’s quite happy where he is now.

  17. Eleonor says:

This is some bad written aristo fan-fiction.

  18. EnormousCoat says:

I interpret “she’s just so…American” to mean “she doesn’t put up with our bullshit and is beating us at our own game.” So yes, very American.

    • equality says:

      I like that interpretation.

    • taris says:

william: “she’s so american, and now that i ran her out of the country, i will proceed to just copy everything she did, starting with hiring her former social media team, and getting on youtube because i’m cool now”

    • Justjj says:

Seriously how I interpret it every time something is leaked about how gouache, American, and “demanding” she is… all this translates to me as: unwilling to put up with our bullshit and still merrily go to tea time or whatever.

  19. Cecilia says:

Am i the only one that finds this all very sinister?

    • Pix says:

Yes, so sinister. These people are evil. Meghan just had a baby. She is weeks postpartum and these headlines are pointedly evil toward her. No acknowledgment of the baby (William’s niece) just headline after headline of hate. It’s like they want her to spin her into depression. It’s sick and the Royals are so short-sighted they can’t see the how this will damage them and ultimately bring them down.

    • Eurydice says:

I don’t know about sinister, but there does seem to be a purpose behind this. The W&K “jealousy story” is being strengthened, the fact of H&M receipts keep cropping up – someone’s trying to steer the narrative in another direction.

      • Sunday says:

I agree, these latest articles make William look so much worse than anyone else that it’s hard to imagine that it’s hard to imagine even someone as clearly misguided as william would think it’s doing him any favors.

      • Cecilia says:

@Eurydice, @Sunday: The thing is, most people 100% believe this and think that williams anger is justified. Let’s face it, meghan rep has effectively been ruined by these people. This woman who didn’t have a spec of dirt on her name and was so clean that not even a PI could find any dirt, can now not even leave her house without a barrage of hate raining down on her. I agree that in these pieces william sound increasingly unhinged but that is to us. Others will look at these pieces and think “wow meghan must truly be awful for william to react so strongly”.

      • equality says:

@Cecilia Sadly, I’m afraid you are right.

      • Eurydice says:

@Cecilia – I can see how people can consider Will’s anger as justified, as long as it’s directed toward the narrative of “bad Meghan.” But here we have a story of W&K’s jealousy and “sharp elbow” tactics, which is different from what we’ve been hearing before. I agree that Meghan’s reputation has been trashed – I just think that the palace is trying to come up with a way to bandage things.

      • taris says:

        @eurydice @equality @cecilia @sunday
they’ve definitely dragged meghan through the ringer and i can’t even imagine what this all must feel like for her.

but i like to point out that the vitriol generally isn’t as widespread as it might seem. the haters are just extremely loud (and in control of traditional media, apparently), but they don’t represent everyone.
poll after poll show that h&m have the support of the demographics that matter: young brits, minorities, commonwealth countries – the firm (esp post-queen) does not.

      • notasugarhere says:

Cecilia, ‘most’ people? Rather the 20 people who have been proven to have dozens of soc puppets and run the majority of the anti-Meghan commentary on SM.

    • Margaret says:

I will repeat again, as far as wills is concerned, there is a thin line between love and hate. I disagree with the, most people believe, william is correct, comment, sorry girls. I noticed it is the same people posting the hate filled dialog over and over. Which doesn’t make a majority.
I also noticed there are new people giving opposing views, and giving support to the Sussexes. The worm appears to be turning, the more wills rears his rage filled head, he is showing how awful he is as a potential king.

    • Demi says:

It is sinister this is no stranger this is the mother of Willy’s nephew& niece and the wife of your only sibling what kind of sick man William is..

    • Oh-Dear says:

for those saying that it is a small group that believe William is justified or that Megan has been in the wrong – you can head over to Dlisted and read that perspective. The vast majority think she is a lying, scheming, manipulative, spoiled b*tch who scooped Harry from this excellent life he loved and he has no right to complain about his former life. I think it lives inn many places. My mom (Canadian) was talking to a Birtish neighbour the other day and her British cousin in England not long ago and asked what Brits believe about Megan and Harry.
Both said that people cannot stand Megan and find her American-ness offensive. I don’t think it is much of a minority that are anti-Megan unfortunately.
She stepped out of the British class system and has been crucified for it. England is still very classiest while in North American the whole founding narrative is that you can have social mobility. Megan did through her work, but those same opportunities don’t exist in England for many, especially if you are a racilaized minority. For some reason Autumn was able to but she kept out of the spotlight. Both Megan and Kate are criticized for social climbing.

  20. The Hench says:

Yeah, I mean putting aside Lacey’s slightly snide tone, what this reveals is what commentators here have been saying for some time. In no particular order:

    1. Despite desperate PR by Carole, Kate ‘The Peacemaker’ Middleton’s efforts were, er, hopeless.
    2. The Cambridges’ jealousy drove their attacks on “megawatt” Meghan and Harry
    3. Even those coming forward as Sussex ‘friends’ to diss Meghan can only come up with something something PR and ‘so American’.
    4. No, the BRF really can’t afford to be treating their mixed race family in this terrible manner.
    5. Meghan and Harry have “drawn up a 30-page dossier in justification of their treatment of staff, setting out precise details of why they parted company with certain personnel” PLEASE KP, keep tweaking that bullying story and we will get to see this dossier deployed.

    • Jais says:

#1-It’s interesting bc the divergent PR strategies are really clear when comparing Lacey’s account of the funeral and Tominey’s. Lacey has them arguing and calling the walk and talk for cameras a superficial gesture whereas Tominey says that is not true and continues to talk up Kate as a peacemaker.

      • The Hench says:

Absolutely @Jais – Camilla T is ride or die for Kate. At this point we should just consider her the Middleton’s PR person.

  21. Lizzie says:

I don’t believe Meghan has said prince elegant’s name either. Sounds like there is nothing else to back up the made up bullying claims.

  22. Amy Bee says:

All I’m getting from this is Kate and William with the help of their friends tried to make Meghan’s life a living hell and to force her to leave Harry. I can see why the Cambridge stans hated this article, it doesn’t show William and Kate in a good light. It’s clear that Meghan and Harry were bullied by Wiliam and his staff and Meghan was in a toxic situation full of racism, misogyny and xenophobia.

  23. Neners says:

So you use “American” as a pejorative and then wonder why American celebrities are swerving you when you call them up to try to lend relevance to your half-baked projects. Do I have that right?

  24. S808 says:

Sad that William obsessively hates Meghan more than he loves Harry. A lot of people think it’s an attraction to Meghan (could be, who knows?) but I for one think it’s about her place in Harry’s life. The loss of control William over him. The loss of a crutch and cover cause he know he’s ill suited for his responsibility.

Do I think Harry is homesick? Yeah. I thought Meghan was homesick when she in the UK. It’s normal and I don’t think it means either of the regret their decisions to move.

Harry is on record saying he hated his life in England and that is before he met Meghan.
They’re so many interviews of him saying that, he was happier in war zone Afghanistan than England.

      • JT says:

@S808 William is OBSESSED with Meghan. Look at all of the trouble he is going through. He hasn’t seen Meg in nearly two years and she is all he can talk about. I bet he always brought her up in conversations even when those conversations had nothing to do with her. No wonder Kate had a problem with her from the start. Meg was getting all of William’s attention when he can’t even be bothered to look in Kate’s direction.

      • Amy Bee says:

Yeah, I don’t think he’s homesick all. He hated living in the UK and any chance got he left and spent months in Africa. There was even a time reporters felt he spent too much time away from the UK.

      • S808 says:

@Jan I forgot about that Afghanistan quote X_____X

      • Zebz says:

@jt I agree with you 100%. The fact that he cannot let it go is baffling. She has left the continent and went back to her home country which is what they all wanted, but he cannot let her go. His concern for Harry is a mask to cover the fact that he is in love with Meghan himself. If it was concern about Harry, why didn’t he act like this for his other relationships, at all??? He wasn’t concerned about Harry feelings when working him to death. If he hates her, why is his wife copying her exact outfits and mannerisms and trying to take all of her traits and successes??? The fact that he was willing to publicly attach his name to this story just shows his desperation for her acknowledgment which she refuses to give. I worry for Meghan ever having to go back to the uk for anything.

      • swirlmamad says:

@Zebz, William has officially turned into the royal version of Piers Morgan. Completely obsessed with a woman he couldn’t have, and because of that, decided to make her life a living hell. I can’t say I disagree with you, because if you think about it, that might have a lot to do with why Kate resents her so much also.

    • Ginger says:

It’s definitely a loss over Harry. All we hear is how vital Harry is for Williams reign which makes no sense. You never hear this for Charles. His siblings are not vital for his reign. More proof that William will make a horrible king and how desperately Harry is needed. I think even William knows this and is trying to get Harry back ( and is going about it the wrong way)

    • windyriver says:

I think it’s both. Primarily, William is incensed at losing control over Harry, and blames Meghan – it has to be her hypnotic powers over Harry that’s changed him, because everything was a-ok before she came onto the scene, right? Will probably never considered Harry as anything other than a useful adjunct to himself (isn’t everybody?), certainly not as the thoughtful, fully formed individual with his own life we’ve seen in his appearances with Corden, Oprah, Dax.

But Will’s also conflicted because he himself is attracted to Meghan, and hates that, plus he’s jealous of Harry’s happiness – and those conflicting emotions are making him ballistic.

I’m also not convinced Will knows he’s ill-suited for his responsibility. Would his ego, and his sycophants, permit him to believe that? Mostly, I think he’s aware that without Harry, he’s likely to have to work a whole lot more – and that wasn’t part of his plan.

There’s also the theory proposed on here a while back, that another reason Will was incandescent about Sussexit was because it threw a wrench into his own plans to unload Kate. What we’re seeing of late – her non-appearance at some significant events, apparently looking for a set up in the neighborhood of her parents – definitely hints that all is not well in the Cambridge marriage.

    • Myra says:

I also think he is threatened by Harry. Before Meghan, Harry made all of them look good with his good nature and charisma (as well as his antics). William always felt superior to the “dim-witted” Harry, despite the fact that Harry was the more emotionally intelligent one. With Meghan, Harry becomes one half of a power couple and overshadows all of them. He ascends to a stratosphere that William despite being FFK, hasn’t reached as of yet. If Harry and Meghan hadn’t gained such status, William might have been more approving of her or less obvious with his dislike. Since he judged her from the beginning and tried to stop the wedding, I suppose he would have reacted with hate no matter their popularity.

      • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

I think H&M’s popularity/success with their first tour is what poured gasoline on the embers that were already there. It’s like that’s what gave him the fuel to *really* let his hate-flag fly. His and Kate’s, but mostly his.

    • Tessa says:

Harry has his home now with his wife and children. He is not homesick, most of those UK relatives especially big brother are toxic for him.

  25. ChattyCath says:

I think Meghan has seen and heard a lot of things that would blow the Middletons and Baldimort Sky high. It’s so obvious. And the shady courtiers too. That’s why the ‘never complain never explain mantra. Or ‘marry a Royal grin and bear it’. They’re not clever enough to see that if they were NICE to Meghan she wouldn’t spill. Our UK Government is as corrupt as they come. I used to be a Monarchist but William and his wife have put paid to that.

  26. Becks1 says:

So, a lot to unpack here.

As a threshold matter, abusive family dynamics aside, I can see why William blames Meghan and not Harry for everything that has happened. He’s wrong lol, but I can see it for two reasons – one, in William’s mind, things were great before Meghan came along. Harry was willing to play along, the royal trio was bumping along nicely, Harry was pulling some focus but he and Kate and their kids were still the stars. Enter Meghan and BAM! everything changes.

Now of course that’s not what was actually going on, and Harry has tried to make that crystal clear esp over the past few months – but do we think William was attuned to Harry’s mental health or even that he really cared all that much? Of course not. William thinks only about William and for William, the old set up was fine. My guess is to this day he’s still probably like “so what was wrong with Harry being our third wheel and scapegoat forever?”

Second – I think there’s just a natural instinct to blame the in-law rather than the family member. My husband didn’t really have a relationship with his father growing up (bc his dad basically abandoned him and his mom) and they started to become close when he was in his 20s, and then after we got married and had kids my husband didn’t really choose to continue the relationship (he has said that having kids made him feel his father’s abandonment even more strongly because he couldn’t imagine doing that to his children.) Anyway, I know my FIL blames me and thinks it was my doing that they don’t really have a relationship anymore. But it was my husband’s. And I’m sure many of us on here have seen that dynamic play out in various ways and the in-law usually gets the blame, even when its 100% the family member.

So combine those two things and I can see why William blames Meghan. That’s just easier for him.

Of course like I said, he’s wrong, and Harry has made that clear – but do we think William is going to change his thinking in any significant way? Do we think he is capable of that? I do not.

That said – the whole bit about “that bloody woman” and being “merciless” to “his staff” – yes, it shows William’s contempt for Meghan, but also look at it – “his staff” – not “their staff,” not “her staff.” “his staff.” That’s just a little quote that tells you so much about the dynamics there. They did not think they worked for Meghan and probably told her so. I also like how Harry is “Mr. Combustible” bc he won’t forgive William for insults or certain incidents but its totally just okay that William is swearing about Meghan and her “bullying” even now.

Finally – the bit about how she’s “so American. ” Do these people even know any Americans? We’re not “running PR” all the time or whatever the phrase was. And as I’ve said for years now – saying “we didn’t hate Meghan because she’s black, we hated her because she’s American” is NOT a good look for an institution that is supposed to represent the UK on the world stage.

    • Snuffles says:

I’m sure in William’s mind, life before Meghan was hunky dory, because Harry was serving HIM so well. But Harry has been telling the world how MISERABLE he was with the whole set up. The most miserable years of his life was when he was Mr. Third Wheel to Will and Kate and being worked to death because the Cambridges refused to work.

The fact that William refuses to acknowledge Harry’s feelings is a problem. He doesn’t want to admit that Harry was miserable LONG before Meghan came on to the scene. So he chooses to blame Meghan. Probably because Meghan was the only person in Harry’s life who told him his life didn’t have to be that way and gave him the strength to say NO!

    • S808 says:

Blaming Meghan is so much easier to handle than understanding Harry himself chose to break away from him and the firm. It’s way easier to believe Meghan is controlling.

      • Becks1 says:

Exactly. It’s not healthy, and like I said he’s wrong, Harry has been pretty open about why they stepped back etc – but it’s easier for William to process and do we think he is going to spend the mental energy on anything that’s not “easy to process”? of course not.

      • Feeshalori says:

No, William is not one for introspection. It takes too much effort and he may not like what he sees. If he can even acknowledge his shortcomings, which he never would. He’s too arrogant and self-centered to recognize that he needs a lot of work.

      • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

Exactly. I’m sure TOBB *knows* on one level *exactly* why Harry left, has ALWAYS wanted to get away; he knows *exactly* how he’s treated Harry and can’t face the fact that Harry has had enough. So it IS much easier for TOBB’s stunted brain to think/feel that MEGHAN is to blame for all his woes.

    • equality says:

I think Harry is like your husband and had a revelation once he had a son and the media started attacking a child. He could see clearly that Archie would be treated as a scapegoat like he was and didn’t like that thought. You are right about Harry being the work behind KP initiatives. I think that’s why Will wants him back; Harry has the better ideas and sees them through. It was brilliant of Harry to start Sentebale and Invictus outside of the RF so that Will wouldn’t steal them.

    • lanne says:

They are also forgetting that with their Brexit blunder, the UK needs the US more than ever. Someone ought to send a memo to KP.

      • Eurydice says:

Uh huh, he’ll read that memo right after he finishes the one on how important Scotland is to the UK.

    • Sarah says:

Yes!!! These are my thoughts as well,. My only add is this:

The whole PR thing is really that she probably came in, surveyed the situation with a fresh set of eyes and was like WTF!! I have been in that situation working for companies where things appear to be moving smoothly and you lift the hood and are like how on earth do you people have jobs and how are things running when it’s hanging by a shoestring.

I also think she saw the advantage of the press that she and Harry were getting and wanted to use that to further advance the causes that they were interested in pushing forward and the courtiers were like “No No, we don’t do that here; here we take 50 years to push something forward and also you’ll now be responsible for taking any money that you bring in and distributing it to the charities that your brother and sister in law aren’t doing anything for” and she was like this is ridiculous and BOOM you get labeled difficult.

    • Great analysis, Becks1.

      • TEALIEF says:

@ Becks1 and Feeshalori it is as you both said: He lacks the positive aspects of introspection, self-awareness, contemplation. These have been corrupted into egoism, self-conceit, self-centredness. When one is told that one will be the King, and has not been educated or worked at its responsibilities and duties, this failure to humanity happens, and, failure to the Institution and state which he will head will follow. He views everyone is an extension of Himself: reflections his glorified self, objects of and for his pleasure or displeasure, things he can regard or disregard and discard. This is a pitiful and miserable man laid bare by his actions.

  27. ABritGuest says:

Got some scepticism about the sourcing on this. With a limited guest list for the funeral there was no ‘longtime friend’ of either brothers who would have witnessed the alleged row at the funeral. So Lacey’s briefings are likely from courtiers not actual friends. Plus if they had had a blazing row sure it would have leaked to press earlier with Harry blamed for upsetting the queen on the funeral etc

So already that tells me that ‘friends of Harry’ who were calling Meghan a nightmare are actually staff. Lines up with reports a few years ago in the Times & Telegraph where they said she was a nightmare, they looked down on her for being an American actress. So reference to being ‘so American’ is from staff. Tom Bradby said at the time of the engagement that Harry’s friends urged him to propose to Meghan. I think any friend that had a problem with her is likely kept at a distance eg Skippy.

But I have to laugh at anybody from the palace talking about Meghan’s endless PR. Talk about projection with the daily puff pieces & anniversary videos that look like adverts.

I also doubt that William & Kate’s friends would come out & say they were jealous & used sharp elbows to put H&M in place. Again this is from courtiers- there was a piece in the Times last January that said the Cambridges set out early on to put H&M in their place.

Still it’s interesting that it’s being made clear that William & Kate were the main people who had a problem with Meghan from the firm & someone is happy to have out there that William really despises Meghan.

The idea that courtiers are working on reconciliation is ridiculous when next minute they are talking response to Oprah interview which undoubtedly would be more smears etc or saying Harry& Meghan are damaged & she’s a sociopath bully. So funny they announced the bullying review publicly but now Meghan wants these claims examined suddenly they don’t know what resolution will be & they won’t be updating publicly. Aka it’s smokes and mirrors

    • equality says:

I wondered about the W&K “friends” being the aristos who made Kate sound so bad in the Tatler article.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

A part of me thinks that these ‘briefings’ against the Cambridges are coming from Chuck – its his way of putting them in their place. Remember all the Middleton PR stories about how Chuck should be bypassed for W&K? Many commenters on here said Chuck would not like that – and here we are, stories basically outing the Cambridges as being the main instigators of the Sussex’s leaving.

      • equality says:

You could have something there. I wondered if Kate was pushing back at him for trying to ditch her and letting it be known that he is the force behind pushing H&M out.

      • Harper says:

The headlines are never “Cambridges’ Jealousy Forced out Meghan” or “William and Kate Purposely Smeared Meghan to Take Her Down.” Even though the statement that W&K were jealous and wanted to put them down is in the article, there is no incentive to whip up a frenzy against the Cambridges like there is against Meghan and Harry. And that’s where we are until ……. ??????? When, if ever, would the momentum switch?

      • swirlmamad says:

You know, that makes a whole lot of sense. We were wondering when Chuck was going to wake up out of his zombie fog and do something about the OOC Cambridge narratives…..this might just be the beginning.

  28. MsIam says:

The “never ending PR”? How many, ” Future Queen, Future King, never puts a foot wrong, true statesman, elegant, keen” articles have we had in the last 18 months? And none of them were about Harry and Meghan. Lacey is as full of sh!t as the rest of the bunch. He must live in a gopher hole to not be aware of the Cambridges and the palace’s embiggening campaigns for Will, Kate and Charles. And to claim that Harry is homesick and wants to jump back into that mess? Listen, you can miss a place and people and family sure. But that doesn’t mean you want to live there full time again.

  29. girl_ninja says:

Imagine being an ugly, hateful, racist, misogynistic douche? Will has pushed away his brother who constantly had his back just to be “King of the Mountain.” What a sad loser.

  30. Premadonna says:

I love the above pic from H&M’s farewell tour, where Meghan is smiling serenely in her FABULOUS green outfit, and Kate is SO mad because she knows Meghan looks SO much better than her. Try as she might Kate just could not keep that SNEER off her face. The contrast between the two of them in that pic is A-mazing.

  31. JT says:

Even the Keens friends say that they used “sharp elbowed tactics” against H&M. So what tactics? Organizing a smear campaign across all of the BM? Making up fake bullying claims that are still questionable 3 years later? This is just confirming what H&M said in the interview.

    • The Hench says:

Yes, as time goes by and reports from the palaces keep coming out, all they are succeeding in doing is confirming everything H&M said. I mean, H&M tried to leave a bit of room for manoeuvre and the Cambridges’ so-called PR has basically gone “it was all us. In fact here are the exact names Prince William likes to call his sister-in-law and here are the horrible things William’s staff called Meghan and yes, it was all because the Keens were jealous and outshone.”

    • Harper says:

And if their friends know about the “sharp-elbowed tactics” then how public were the Dunces in maligning H&M? This wasn’t some secret plan to take them down, it seems as if the Doolittles bragged about it to their circle.

    • betsyh says:

I want to know if Lacey goes into more detail about just what these sharp-elbowed attacks are in his book. He appears to focus on how horrible the Sussexes behaved. Why just allude to William and Kate’s behavior—I want details! Does he discuss how the Cambridges tried to drive Meghan out of the royal family? How, if they could not prevent Harry from marrying her or get him to divorce her, they were determined to make Meghan leave the family of her own accord by beating her down?

      • Rose says:

The book was also pretty fair in its portrayal. Like it was the first one to point a finger hard at TOB. No it wasn’t 100% flattering to the Sussexes but I think it’s fair to say that it takes two to start something even if the start was literally a line in the sand from the Sussex camp. So to that point I think he is doing a good job of showing what line was drawn and why. His book talked through how they got there and to me pointed that finger squarely at KP. The BM are also only going to print things that are ‘flattering’ or KP approved about TOB which makes me think I’d like to know what else is in those extra chapters. None of this takes away from other people’s comments that he is pompous and by the excerpts an entitled old white guy in every sense of the word. I am curious though.

      • betsyh says:

Thanks Rose. Now I am tempted to read the updated book.

  32. Sunday says:

So, they’re turning on William, right? This is another article that technically continues the smear campaign but which clearly paints William in the most misogynistic, xenophobic light possible. Plus it goes on to say that will & kate employed “sharp-elbowed tactics” – excuse me?? I can’t believe that even someone as backwards as William thinks this makes him look good.

I also couldn’t help but notice the use of the word “MURKY” in reference to “justification of treatment of their staff” … now, it could be a total coincidence, as that’s the handle of one of Meghan’s most vile, racist, disgusting trolls, but I do love a conspiracy theory, and there are quite a lot of phrases that could’ve worked there. Could Lacy be sending us a smoke signal that the person behind that hateful account is former (or current) KP staff?

(I’m gonna have to buy stock in aluminum foil to cover all these tiaras.)

    • Becks1 says:

I definitely think they’re turning on William. Or William is turning on himself.

This is getting out of hand and the person who looks the worst here is William.

      • Snuffles says:

I think they are letting William bury himself. He’s running his mouth and no one is stopping him. He’s this close to admitting he was the one that talked about Archie’s skin color.

Somewhere in the distance Charles is whispering, “Checkmate Big Willy.”

      • JT says:

@Becks1 I think it’s a bit of both. The press is yanking his chain and outing him and Kate as the main shit stirrers. William also thinks he’s a PR genius and that this all makes him look good, so he’s giving Lacey more “evidence” that somehow exonerates him but actually makes him look like an ass.

      • Sunday says:

At this point the smears are so smeared that everyone’s a mess.

ETA: Excellent points JT, totally agree.

      • Feeshalori says:

William is his own worst enemy and the RRs are more than happy to aid and abet him. Revenge for being barred from the statue unveiling, l do believe.

    • Eurydice says:

Yep, definitely the story is turning. My tiara is telling me that there’s a background attempt to balance the scales – a third hand admission of “not good” behavior on the part of W&K on one side, versus Meghan was mean to the staff on the other. Like if these two narratives can be brought to parity, then there can be reconciliation and everything else can be papered over. Not sure how they can paper over driving a woman to near-suicide, though.

    • equality says:

I wonder about who “murky” is also. Must be somebody with enough influence to stay on Twitter with a hate account after being reported numerous times.

    • SarahCS says:

      Ooh I hope so.

I can’t decide if they are just going all in on the appeal to the misogynistic, xenophobic, royalist base or if this is actually a conscious choice to show him up to the wider population. Knowing how much these people live in their own bubble sadly I think it may be the former but I can still adjust my tiara and hope.

    • notasugarhere says:

I also suspect Murky is a KP staffer or has a direct line to one.

    • Demi says:

Wasn’t there an investigation that revealed that the trolling Meghan gets comes from the same accounts over& over again.. some commenters here mentioned that People at KP are behing Meghan hate channels in YT. I do believe that.. whoever Lacey’s sources they are using the exact language on those channels.

  33. Zebz says:

William talks about Meghan in the press more than he talks about his wife and kids. The frequency of articles written about his sister in law and himself is alarming. He is being portrayed as absolutely consumed with his sister in law to the point it overshadows everything he does.

I’m really starting to believe he tried something with her and was rejected. Hence why he is trying to blast her at every chance he gets. He is acting like an obsessed teenage boy with his love interest. I can’t even…

    • Jaded says:

I too think he got a little handsy or said something too graphic to Meghan, she told Harry and shit commenced hitting the fan. When a guy with William’s out of control narcissism and entitlement gets turned down and busted for inappropriate behaviour with a woman, he’ll immediately turn on her but still harbor obsessive “feels” for her. To put it plainly, William is a sicko.

    • Laugh or Cry says:

I agree with both of you. The Cambridges are a sick bunch. She is lusting for her husband’s brother, and he is coveting his brother’s wife. Hot mess.

  34. Sid says:

That bit about Charles being focused on Camilla is both random and interesting at the same time. Charles and/ or his people are being reeeeal careful to separate him from the Meghan harassment. When it all falls down, Willileaks and his sidekick will be the ones rightfully blamed, and Charles will say “it wasn’t me!”

    • The Hench says:

Yes that little detail was weird. Imagine having your two sons at each others’ throats and this amount of sh*t landing left, right and centre and ‘all’ you care about is what you get to call Camilla. WTF?

    • S808 says:

Charles is so damn calculating, I hate it. He’s playing it smart though, keeping his mouth shut and letting his moronic son leak his way into giving up the whole game.

      • one of the marys says:

I’ve noticed Clarence House Instagram has been very busy, posts just about everyday and all work related. Cambridge Instagram is pretty sparse and that includes a birthday post

      • Gina says:

@S808 I think Charles failed miserably in his PR. He was very bad husband, abusive if we take age difference into account, he is very bad father – petty, vindictive, heartless. He is just not so dumb like his eldest son, so his evilness is more difficult to expose. And still, his “deafening” silence now, his behavior at PP funeral shows him exactly as he is – full of envy, wickedness, vindictiveness. He is calculating but his calculations just expose his weakness – not a good PR move.
        Wow, I really don’t like him. 😕

    • Demi says:

That’s because he always been that way.. when things get difficult he runs away to Camilla.. When someone reveals the truth about him being cold & selfish he has to retaliate& somehow paint himself as the victim and the poor old man in all of this.. He only cares about himself& his image it was never about the children.. Camilla is like him in that tampon phone call she mentioned to him how hard it is for her to deal with her raging children.

      • Tessa says:

I think Camilla does not spend all that much with Charles. She kept her own residence since he does not want her children and grandchildren around at their residences. She retreats from him and she has a place to retreat to.

  35. Lyds says:

“Then he recalls one particular insult or other, as he perceives it, that his brother or family made against Meghan, and he flares up again”

This, to me, is Lacey outing William as the “skin color” worrier. What particular insult would make Harry flare out so? Calling her American or PR-hungry? Once again, no specifics.

And then you have William raging at the way Meghan treated the staff. Good play on words; I believe he is thinking of Jason Knauff and how Meghan all but forced him to step down with her receipts and evidence. Oh, I believe Meghan is 500% nightmare, alright. 500% nightmare if you try to smear her and mess with her when all your ducks are too busy quacking to the DM instead of getting in a row. William of all people continues to suffer the aftermath of the Sussex fallout. He will never not be linked to this, and he knows it.

    • The Hench says:

“500% nightmare if you try to smear her and mess with her when all your ducks are too busy quacking to the DM instead of getting in a row.”

Hahaha. That image has just cheered up my day, thank you @Lyds.

      • JT says:

@Lyds This is a good point. Because of Meghan, both of Will Jung Un’s yes men were sent to pasture in a wave of suspicion. Knauf left after Meg spanked the DM in her lawsuit. Simon Case was sent packing after the Times story as well. Meg wasn’t taking their shit and fought back and now the men who did the most dirt for him are gone. I guess this is where the “Meghan is a bully” is coming from.

      • Feeshalori says:

Yep, his nightmare is that Meghan is a strong woman who has the receipts and is willing to produce them. He’s only accustomed to pushovers so of course he’s raging.

      • I’m all for “500% Meghan” bringing receipts against William and this pack of liars!

    • SarahCS says:

One of the things I have appreciated through these events is learning the phrase ‘f*ck around and find out’. I love it and I totally agree with your excellent summary!

    • Lila says:

In a few months, they will out William as one of the people involved in the skin color conversations. I believe they’re just trying to come up with the right spin that won’t make William sound *too* racist.

    • Becks1 says:

Yeah, I feel like that was Lacey basically saying “yup, it was William, mystery solved.”

  36. Merricat says:

I do think William believed that Harry would always play the comic relief/sidekick. What changed for Harry was that Meghan shared his vision and believed in his ability to accomplish it, and saw him as an individual, apart from the royal rigamarole.
This “effort” at peace negotiations is doomed to failure, because what they object to are what she was born to be: American and biracial. That will never change, and neither will the monarchy, and therefore unless William has a come-to-jesus kind of moment, there will never be peace. Only distance.

  37. Matthew says:

They are so dumb and not strategic – of course William should reach out to Meghan and reconcile with her to get Harry. They’d rather do their racism though.

  38. Abby says:

All of this sounds so so toxic. Why on earth would Meghan and Harry want to return to this fold? Gross.

  39. Over it says:

Before I read any of the comments. Let me say.
1 . If the British royals don’t get good PR then they become irrelevant.
    2. These people are just big mad that they totally suck at their PR game even though they have an entire country media doing their dirty racist, unhinged work.
    3. Mr. incandescent Baldemort needs to get a f—-I got grip . He is such a bitter angry stupid dumb asshole.
    4. Robert lacey is a weirdo. His writing about this makes no sense to me. Stop peddling palace crap and tell the truth. Are you a historian or a royal Rota rat?
    4. If being American and good at getting publicity for her causes and being hard working and refusing to put up with racist, sexist bullshit is Megs biggest flaw, then I love her even more that I did already
    5. Of course Harry remembers and gets mad again. How can he ever forget when these people attack his wife ever f——-Ing day. I love and respect him for loving his wife.
    6. Harry just had a baby. I can promise you he isn’t sitting at home calling up those bitches complaining about homesickness. He isn’t sorry for telling the truth about his father. He was well aware that isle of salt would be against it but he still spoke with his whole chest.
They want him, and his wife back to get back the attention Harry and Meghan get but can’t admit they were wrong and that Harry is never ever ever ever coming back to these f——res.

  40. TigerMcQueen says:

Harry’s so-called friends complaining about Meghan is like the staff bullying allegations. No substance, no examples. The complaints about never ending PR comes across as someone complaining from afar, reacting to her portrayal by the RR rather than actually spending time with her. I’ll bet they’re friends of Elegant Bill’s who claimed friendship with Harry because they knew his brother. The pejorative American is also gross and doesn’t come across like they thing it does.

    • Exactly. This “Meghan is a PR Whore” is such BS. Meghan does precise, limited, targeted PR on specific issues, work, or charities and owns it by using her name. Meghan is not KP PR, hiding behind nameless friends and sources parroting KP PR lies and attacks almost every single day.

  41. aquarius64 says:

What idiot at KP told William slagging on Meghan openly is a good look now especially to an American audience? Using Lacey is just as stupid as ordering the press to weaponize Bad Dad? This Union Jack-ass is your future head of state UK.

  42. Chelsea says:

“Homesick Harry” sounds like a mugzit nickname along the lines of “Hollywood Harry”. There is no way a friend called him this; this is 100% a courtier or William. Laceys existence and this stupid book are annoying the crap our of me but the good thing about it is that it at least moves us away from this false narrative being pushed that the Oprah interview is the reason for the strife in the family. The reason for the interview is that the “family” and those around them have spent years trying to destroy both Harry and Meghan’s marriage and Meghan herself and they wouldnt even stop when they left the country. If they didnt want their dirty laundry on an Oprah special then they shouldn’t have been peddling on every British front page and morning show throughout 2020.

But the thing that bothers me the most about Lacey is that he will write out the horrific names Meghan was called and talk about how William had so much rage at them that he kicked them out of KP and then call her self-pitying. Like are you serious? These people really think Black pain is a joke. They really think we should take all forms of microagressions and abuse and attack us when we call it out and say we wont take it anymore. So tired of these assholes.

    • Exactly Chelsea. Lacey is supposed to be a historian not a royal parrot. From the articles written and comments he’s recently made, this all comes across as unsubstantiated, one-sided gossip. Lacey hasn’t indicated so far that he has applied any analysis or context to this BS he is now parroting from William.

  43. TabithaD says:

It’s truly extraordinary that William’s “friends” think this is a good look. It’s very much the opposite. I think Lacey knows it too, on some level.

The most interesting bit, for me, was this: “History will reveal … how their friends William and Kate were guilty of some ‘sharp-elbowed’ tactics in seeking to keep Harry and Meghan in their place.” The “history will reveal” bit shows that they are aware stuff is being covered up, and that it will all come out in the wash. And they are blaming both William AND Kate for this, which is very interesting.

That they are eaten up with jealousy is just so obvious – it’s etched on their faces. Such appalling people.

    • taris says:

yeah, lacey was mostly a jerk to h&m in his article but i do wonder if there was some subtle shade to william there.

    • Harper says:

That’s what satisfies me about this whole mess. EVERYTHING came out during the Charles and Diana tumult. So William is in big trouble. Big, big trouble. He thinks the tabs will protect him forever but that is not true. Also, Prince Incandescent does not have the perspective that Lacey does, and when Lacey says “history will reveal” he knows what he is talking about.

      • TabithaD says:

I think “history will reveal” is Lacey’s way of letting W+K know that there are receipts, and, whatever they think now, they won’t get away with it forever.

    • Jais says:

Yeah “the history will reveal” part to me was so interesting. Will it? When? How long do we have to wait for those tactics to be revealed? Not sure if I’m just latching onto that wording out of wishful thinking or what but yes please let history reveal sooner rather than later.

    • Jais says:

      Duplicate

  44. serena says:

What a load of bullcrap. And really, any of these ‘articles’ just helps in painting The Engorged One as a sociopath. “sHe BuLlIeD mY sTafF” .. please, as if he isn’t the one bullying everyone he’s close to.

And I love how the make the “Sussex supporters” or “Harry’s friends” diss on Meghan, like anyone with a brain would effing believe it. Go take a seat and stay there Lacey.
Never ending PR.. LOL, who are we talking about again?

  45. sandy says:

I truly hope karma comes for him.

  46. equality says:

Calling somebody who was suicidal “self-pitying” while at the same time detailing how she was bullied and calling her names is disgusting, especially from supposed mental health advocates.

  47. Mich says:

What people like Will & Kate don’t get is that the world was naturally interested in Meghan. She has the It Factor. That isn’t ‘self-promotion’. She wasn’t planting stories about herself. People were (and still are) desperate to write about her and talk about her. Even when she hasn’t been seen or heard from in MONTHS she is daily news.

  48. Margaret says:

I would like to disagree with the brothers were so close before meghan story. If you follow the three is a joyful circus pictures before meghan, pictures depict rancor between the brothers, look at wills face, when kate is grinning at harry. Keep open minds and you will see jealousy and envy there. So please try and stop justifying the lie that the trouble started with meghan. Meghan provided the icing on that cake, to let the brewing venom out.

  49. Over it says:

Wiily is mad because Meghan won’t kiss his ass like everyone else in the palace and the uk media. He is mad he can’t control his grown ass brother. He is mad people around the world knows he is a racist sociopath. He is mad he has a useless coat hanger for a wife . He is mad his brother got the better in everything wife. He is mad that his brother has created things that will last forever while all he has created is a bed of roses. He is mad he is bald and ugly. He is just a bitter mad jackass.

  50. Silent Star says:

SMH, it’s all just like high school drama on steroids! 🤷‍♀️

  51. Layla says:

All this proves is that William, who is the future KiNg!!! is a misogynist as well as racist. Why would we want that as our King?

    • Tessa says:

I feel sorry for Charlotte with her father saying offensive thing about women. And women who would be possible wives for George and Louis would steer clear if they are indoctrinated by their father (re: attitude towards women).

  52. Carmen-JamRock says:

I sincerely hope that Netflix has realized that lacey has lost all credibility as a consultant on The Crown and dumps him. Because if he’s so incapable of being a speaker of truth regarding the facts as they unfold in real time such that we all can see it as it unfolds, and instead, he’s recounting history from only one perspective, full of lies and half-truths and twisted logic, then of what value is he?

    • SnoodleDumpling says:

This is an excerpt published in The Daily Mail. The Daily Mail is NEVER going to print excerpts that aren’t inflammatory and libelous towards Meghan.

And it’s not like the author gets a say, the publisher or the author pulls out some interesting paragraphs, throws the lot of them to all the newspapers and magazines, and the writers there decide exactly what gets printed. There are a few regular commenters here who read Lacey’s book originally and it was WAY more even-handed and realistic than the excerpts that were run in the tabloids would suggest.

  53. Rapunzel says:

Oh I hope “that bloody woman” is “merciless” to The Other Brother and drops receipts at some point.

  54. betsyh says:

Is this the first time a book or newspaper article mentions the Cambridges’ sharp-elbowed tactics? If so, that is interesting—why would the Cambridges’ loyal friends be disclosing this information? Is it because the wave of hatred for Meghan in the media has emboldened them so that they don’t think what the Cambridges did to Meghan was wrong? Or have they finally developed a conscience to speak up on the smear campaign.

  55. Athena says:

People immigrate all the time. There are English people in America, in Australia, Canada, South Africa, everywhere. How is it those people are happy with their new lives but somehow Harry can’t survive outside the UK. His cousin Frederick Windsor lived in California for a number of years. Eugenie and Beatrice lived in NY. His Spencer cousins live in South Africa, but oh poor Harry, he’s homesick, he can’t live away from England. The same Harry who told us how unhappy he is every time he lands back in London.

  56. Mina_Esq says:

All this tells me is that Harry is a mature adult and William is a petty, entitled toddler. There is nothing wrong with missing your friends from home, being open to reconciliation, being prepared to acknowledge some mistakes in the name of peace, and defending one’s spouse. Those are all mature reactions.

  57. Athena says:

Meghan being merciless to “his” staff was her expecting them to do work.
Meghan has worked hard all her life and here in the US we attribute hard work with success, you have to work hard if you want to be successful. Meghan wanted to be successful as a working royal, she wanted to add value. She expected the staff to work. But the staff could not get past a black woman given them orders, an American telling them what to do, a divorce to boot. All the black people this staff has ever dealt with had been subservient to them and they simply could not deal with it. This crowd will learn nothing because they are incapable of self reflection. Almost two years later they are still up in their feelings that they were somehow bullied and William and Kate are angry that they finally had to start working . The lack of awareness is why they’re still running to the press making themselves look like idiots everyday.

  58. Over it says:

Guys, I am seriously confused here and someone needs to help me out. I thought Robert lacy told us last week that the keenbridges went back to KP after the funeral to put their children to bed. No one was talking to Harry remember? Now him and william had a fight. Which story are we supposed to be going with Because these people are giving me a neck ulcer with the lying bullshit.

  59. Jay says:

I think the interesting takeaway is how unflattering this is to the Cambridges, especially the quotes from sources on their side! Either William used the term “that Bloody woman” to describe Meghan so frequently that it became worthy of comment, even though it makes him look awful OR William is so surrounded by people who share his (racist, misogynistic) worldview that describing Meghan this way wouldn’t raise an eyebrow.

Both are troubling, but the second explanation has troubling long term implications for the British monarchy. Also, I think it interesting that Lacey views Harry as so necessary for William’s future reign, but he doesn’t manage to say what Harry would get out of such a reconciliation.

  60. Over it says:

Also how is this so call friend witnessing a fight at an event that had COVID gathering restrictions. Do these people think we are all stupid. This is all Willy take on his own bullshit

  61. Izzy says:

The funeral attendance was very small due to pandemic restrictions, so how exactly is it that these friends happened to be there to witness this fight post-funeral?

  62. TheOriginalMia says:

This narcissist! Meghan has done nothing to him. Her existence is a bane to him because she knows her worth and expects to be treated like a decent human being. William & Inslip can’t contain their racism. How dare this black woman, an American no less, challenge their status quo. She should be grateful to be in their privileged company. With every article and excerpt that comes out, it’s more and more apparent who was bullying whom at Kensington Palace. And it surely wasn’t the newly married in, recent expat. I don’t know how Harry has restrained himself from throat punching William.

  63. MangoAngelesque says:

None of this is funny, of course, but I have to admit I smiled a bit at the “500 percent nightmare” line. But only because I immediately thought of a couple of people in my life it could apply to, and now I’m stealing it.

  64. Lowrider says:

Bald Bill has been called a bully from the time he was a child. A personality trait he has NEVER grown out of as we can see he cuts off people and banishes anyone who doesn’t side with him. Bill is a nasty, nasty person.

  65. Laugh or Cry says:

While Kate participated in the bullying, thanks to Mr. Lacey for confirming that, William is a real a$$hole. How on God’s green earth can anyone stand being married to him. If they ever divorce, Kate will have an easy time making him the bad guy (warranted or unwarranted).

  66. Lila says:

Remember when “Finding Freedom” came out and Omid claimed that William told Harry that he should take it slow, asked if he was sure and Harry didn’t like that?

I remember people tried to say that William’s “advice” was just brotherly concern and that it was normal, but I always felt there was something more to it. I’m now 99% certain that William’s awful comments started very early on, and he was the person who first made the racist comments.

    • Saucy&Sassy says:

      Lila, ITA

    • swirlmamad says:

Absolutely this. You might be miffed if your sibling told you to take it slow with someone you were really into, but your relationship wouldn’t implode over that the way theirs has. No. Wiliam said some really vile and awful stuff to Harry, INCLUDING the skin color comments, of that I am certain.

  67. Flying Fish says:

Oh trust and believe he refers to Kate in using even more colorful words…

  68. Tessa says:

No woman is going to want to marry George or Louis, if his father has indoctrinated them about attitudes towards women. William saying those things about his children’s aunt is just gross.

    • HeatherC says:

George will get married. He’ll find someone just like his mom who doesn’t care how he disrespects her or treats her as long as she gets to be queen.

  69. Busy Bee says:

Everyone keeps commenting on William, not liking Megan because she is biracial. Do people think he sees her as half black and half white? No, he sees her as black, and that is the crux of the issue.

  70. Noor says:

What can we conclude about William from Lacey’s account in his book and articles ?

Prince William has actually outed himself as the Bully. He immediately went ballistics and threw Prince Harry and Meghan out of Kensington Palace based on Jason Knauf’s complaints without first conducting an objective and fair investigation .

Prince Harry and Meghan have kept quiet about Prince William role. They never leak.

  71. Deanne from Canada says:

If it looks like a duck, acts like a duck – then it’s a duck. No re-imagining or re-imaging of public perception will alter that. Full stop. Maybe Kate learned an escape plan that she could live with.

  72. blunt talker says:

I just read a comment on another site I liked-if William is blaming Meghan for everything then all the elitism, racism, and smearing would not have happened if there was nothing to find wrong in the royal family-Meghan and Harry experienced these behaviors towards them and said so-if these behaviors were truly not present in the royal family everything between the Sussexes and the royals would running smoothly.

  73. Curious says:

not seen that first pic before. look at William being all friendly touching Meghan shoulder, and Meghan touching him, they all smiles , seems like they having a good warm conversation. maybe he is telling her to not be nervous, it will be fine.

  74. LRobb says:

@Booyahbitches I agree. W has the serious hots for his brother’s wife IMO, because he has been WAY too bothered by her for way too long. even when she’s silent for months and thousands of miles away. I don’t enjoy saying that but there is no other explanation for his insistence on disrespecting Harry the way he has by constantly smearing Meghan.

  75. Layla says:
