Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum, Brad Pitt and Daniel Radcliffe made a movie together. It sounds random enough, but then the plot is just completely bonkers. I can actually see the start point for The Lost City, formerly called The Lost City of D. They were trying to make a modernized Romancing the Stone. Romancing the Stone is one of my favorite movies, and I’m thankful that this is not any kind of strict remake. The writers just took the essence of RTS to make something involving a romance novelist, the himbo model on the cover of her books, and an eccentric (and dumb??) millionaire. As for Pitt’s character… I guess we’re supposed to buy him as the real hero? But I don’t think his role is very big, so who knows. Here’s the first trailer for The Lost City:
I’ll be pretty annoyed if they made Bullock wear that purple jumpsuit for most of the movie. But yeah, Channing and Sandra’s chemistry looks great. Big surprise, two of the most charismatic actors in Hollywood have chemistry together and perfect timing with one another. I bet they had a total blast making this. Brad’s wig looks very bad, and the plot makes zero sense, but sure. I will definitely watch this.

Well this looks like a fun movie with a good cast. I don’t really get Channing’s appeal but he seems to have good chemistry with Sandra Bullock, so I’m looking forward to it.
I don’t really get Bullock’s appeal. At all. I always get a mean girl vibe from her underneath all her ‘friendly friendly’ sarcastic but with humor to soften it vibe. She did have excellent face work though because her jaw is so tight you could bounce a quarter off of it.
She is actually really sweet and fun in person. She’s much more reserved when you meet her but not in a bad way. Also she’s gorgeous in person. This is having had met her multiple times, skied with her, and had close friends who have worked for her. She and her family are really wonderful.
I first met her when I was twelve skiing and we were on the lift together. She went out of her way to talk to me and ask me about what runs I liked to ski and then proceeded to come skiing with me and my instructor because she thought we sounded like we knew the good runs. I’ve had several other experiences with her over the years and each time it reinforced the great first impression.
@Catt
She’s nowhere near a mean girl, lol
Saying you get “a mean girl vibe” from someone you know virtually nothing about is actual mean girl behavior TBH.
The shot of them running with SB in the grocery cart made me chuckle out loud. I love Romancing the Stone too. Think I will give this a try.
I don’t even have to watch the trailer to know I will watch the hell out of this. I won’t be seeing it in the theater though so guess I will have to wait.
Huh, this looks kind of fun. I’ll probably watch it, but not in theaters.
Wasn’t Pitt in Lost City of Z? Is this connected to that movie?
ETA never mind, he was not and it is not, lol.
Charlie Hunnam was in Lost City of Z. Pitt was in World War Z. I get all the titles confused too.
I’m sure this is why they dropped the letter thing in this title.
Romancing the Stone is definitely one of my favorite movies too and this looks like a lot of fun.
When the going gets tough, the tough get…such a great pop song by Billy Ocean.
I was not prepared to like this trailer as much as I did. They think I’m crazy because I’m giggling out loud. I hate Pitt is in this, but he looks ridiculous and probably is playing a ridiculous enough character for me to ignore him. I’ll see this. Oh, and I absolutely loved Romancing the Stone. It was soooo good.
100%.
💯 I’m so excited for a fun movie with these type of characters. I am ready for some ridiculous fun! I will probably buy this too when it comes out.
I will certainly watch this when it streams. I have watched every Bullock movie except Bird Box, why I don’t know. But I have seen all of the others more than once. I guess I haven’t watched it due to it being horror, I don’t care for horror movies.
It looks kinda fun, but I don’t think I’ll watch another Sandra Bullock movie that soon. I saw her Netflix movie (The Unforgivable) the other day and was distracted the whole time with how completely different her face looked. I think it was too much Botox in her upper lip and that changed her face movements and even the way she spoke. Why would she do that to herself?
I WILL SO WATCH THIS – yeah it does have a campy RTS vibe and Pitt’s hair flick at the end tells me that this is a bit of a cheesy piss take like Miss Congenitally.
Romancing the Stone and Jewel of the Nile are my ‘in bed sick’ go to movies – love love both those movies. The 3 main cast has such great chemistry.
Oh, this looks like great silly fun! ‘Certified CPR, certified in Cross fit, and I have snacks’. I LOLd at that one. And of course Sandra’s going to wear that fabulous jumpsuit throughout the movie! That’s standard wear for women in peril!
This movie looks HYSTERICAL! I want to go to the movies, be entertained, laugh and escape. This looks like just the ticket.
This actually looks pretty funny and I’d like to watch it.
Confession: I’ve never actually watched Romancing the Stone. Maybe I’ll give it a watch while I’m off over the holidays!
You HAVE to watch it! It’s brilliantly done as well!! I have watched it at least 4 or 5 times!! It never gets old!!
Charming Potato had me at “I have snacks.” It looks like a blast!
Oh Hell Yeah. I will get my ladies together and we will watch the hell out of this.
This looks really silly and cute, and I am on board. I don’t get the whole Channing Tatum thing, but he does seem to have good comedic timing, and they seem like a well matched pair
Oh yeah…Imma watch this. Despite Brad Pitt.
This works because they’re not taking themselves seriously, which is great! It’s like a parody of Romancing the Stone, but in a good way. Am looking forward to this.
This looks absolutely ridiculous, and I can’t wait to watch it, lol
