Gigi & Bella Hadid wore Valentino & Dior to the Prince’s Trust gala in NYC

Here are some photos from last night’s Prince’s Trust Gala in New York. Prince Charles did not attend, but many celebrities did. Bella and Gigi Hadid came to the event together, wearing wildly different looks. Gigi wore a Valentino look which was fresh off the runway, and she wore ridiculous platform boots too. Bella went vintage and Audrey Hepburn-esque in a vintage Dior, sheer gloves, Chopard jewelry and Louboutins. It’s kind of cool how they went in different directions, honestly. I hope they had a fun night out.

Naomi Campbell has really gotten “in” with the Windsors, and she was appointed a Commonwealth Trust ambassador or something last year. She came to the event in a purple ballgown which… what did you expect her to wear?

Speaking of supermodels, Kate Moss was there. She wore a simple slipdress and she was one of the most underdressed people there. That’s Charlotte Tilbury, right? Yes, it is. The British makeup artist. Tilbury isn’t ID’d at the photo agency, that’s why I was confused.

My pick for best dressed of the night: Phoebe Dynevor in this gorgeous Louis Vuitton which fits her like a glove. Perfect styling with the red lip and simple updo. Perfect.

Sabrina Elba (Idris’s wife) wore Loewe, because gold breast plates are in style these days.

Karlie Kloss wore Elie Saab. She didn’t bring her Kushner husband.

Lily James wore MiuMiu. My pick for worst dressed? She just looks boring and bored.

I like all these looks for different reasons. Variety is the spice of life, right? If they weren’t a bit over the top we’d say that they were boring. Nothing is worse than boring in the fashion world.

Me too! They are all interesting, and none of them are actually *bad*. That’s pretty unusual for a red carpet!

AGREE. Also, the mullet dress on the other Hadid woman is awful. I have a pure dislike of mullet dresses.

I think all these dresses are either awful, ill-fitting, or just meh. The purple dress looks like a repurposed wedding gown that was dyed. The only nice thing I have to say about it is that it has pockets.

I flat out didn’t recognize Naomi Campbell. Beautiful, yes, but not her original stunning self.

    • Moxylady says:

Omg I thought she was Naya Rivera and I had this moment of omg that was just a weird fever dream and she’s alive and with her little boy. But no. 😭😭😭

    • LadyMTL says:

Whereas I didn’t recognize Karlie Kloss, I guess because I’m just too used to seeing her with blonde hair. Honestly, for a second there I thought she was Renée Zellwegger lol.

    • Carmen says:

But that purple dress is gorgeous and fits her just right.

I kind of like Gigi’s…but w/out the hoof shoe/boot. With a “regular” shoe, she’d be so 60s, and I love that era of clothes, Bella would be great w/out the gloves. Those gloves…!!!! Ugh.

Naomi looks great, and I LOVE the emeralds (that shade of green and lilac (another 60s combo) are gorgeous. Love a boatneck; it reminds me of Meghan’s wedding gown (but of course, this skirt is MUCH fuller).

Phoebe looks great. They did her SUCH a disservice with that baby-banged wig on Bridgerton! lol. What a difference!

Sabrina and Lily… tragic. Esp Lily. Can’t cutouts just die out already??

I feel like breast plates would be practical to avoid coffee spills…. Big fancy bibs.

Why is Prince Charles holding a Gala in New York instead of London? Is it because more celebs are in New York? Also why would he not show up to his own Gala?

  6. Case says:

I think most of these looks are really lovely! Gigi looks good with the platinum blonde hair.

  7. Drea says:

My favorite is Naomi’s. That shade of purple is gorgeous and suits her so perfectly. Simple and fun.

  8. Josephine says:

Sabrina Elba had the best look imo. She looks effortless, modern and cool. Too many of the other outfits looked fussy and a bit dated to me except for Gigi’s look, which I also liked.

  9. Sonia says:

    Gigi looks awful

  10. Léna says:

I don’t think I’ve ever disagreed that much with a best dressed, I think Phoebe Dynevor’s dress is awful. She’s cute in it but I hate it haha

So they had photographers there, but no step and repeat? The photos look so unpolished with random crowds behind the guests, not to mention the missed branding opportunity.

This guest list also seems weirdly model-heavy? Naomi and Kate I get, they’re Brits, and Karlie Kloss makes sense because of the family she’s married into (ew), but what are the Hadid sisters doing there? Just seems weird to me, like a casting call of guests and a poorly planned photo op.

    Purple + pockets <3

Everyone looks lovely. I love the color of Gigi’s outfit but she looks absolutely miserable.

  14. Amy Bee says:

Hmm…Why is the Princes Trust courting celebrities in the US? The British press told us that the Royal Family is not interested in celebrities.

  15. Cinders says:

The Prince’s Trust is a good organisation and does some good work – it has mainly been in the UK but has expanded overseas in recent years. But I think the expansion to the US is new. On that basis, you’d think Charles might have turned up to the gala (I assume it’s a fund raising thing, looking for supporters in the US).

  16. Delphine says:

Gigi is actually wearing platform heels with ankle straps over tights of the same color. I can see how it looks like boots though. I love it. It’s fresh and adorable. It’s just that she doesn’t look very happy in that pic.

  17. JFerber says:

Sabrina Elba is my favorite look. Effortlessly gorgeous (SUCH a pretty face). She is also the woman I am most jealous of (married to my dream man). Oh well. I bet she is hella nice, too!

  18. cabooklover says:

I liked Lily James’ outfit. I don’t like the pink dress on Gigi, but Bella looked amazing!

  19. Bella A A says:

Bella looks gorgeous! My favorite out of all the looks

  20. Veronica S. says:

I do adore that intense magenta that’s in this year. Louboutin released a shoe in that shade, and I was very sad it sold out in my side in my area before I could nab it.

  21. Carmen says:

My picks: Naomi Campbell and Phoebe Dynevor. I love both their dresses. Chic, elegant and understated.

  22. Jessa says:

Just me or does Gigi’s face look weird? Can’t work out if it’s weird contouring around the eyes, washed out make up or some odd work?

Also, she’s giving Petrie Edwards vibes with the platinum hair – definitely leaning into the gossip angle there given the only link is their ex, but can’t unsee it
