Prince Harry will be in New York next week for the NYT’s DealBook Summit

Well well well! Next Wednesday, Dec. 4, the New York Times will host their annual DealBook Summit at the Lincoln Center in NYC. As always, the summit will feature on-stage Q&A sessions and panel talks about politics, money, sports and everything else. Guess who’s appearing at this year’s DealBook Summit? Prince Harry.

The New York Times today unveiled the lineup of interviewees for the 2024 DealBook Summit on Dec. 4 at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City. The live journalism event will be hosted by Andrew Ross Sorkin, Times columnist and DealBook founder and editor at large, and will feature wide-ranging discussions on the most important stories across business, politics and culture.

This year’s mainstage interviews will include discussions with:

Sam Altman, co-founder and C.E.O. of OpenAI
Jeff Bezos, founder and executive chairman of Amazon
Bill Clinton, 42nd president of the United States and author of “Citizen: My Life After the White House”
Alex Cooper, host of “Call Her Daddy” and founder of The Unwell Network
Shawn Fain, president of United Auto Workers
Ken Griffin, founder and C.E.O. of Citadel
Sara Nelson, international president of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, AFL-CIO
Sundar Pichai, C.E.O. of Google
Jerome Powell, chair, board of governors of the Federal Reserve System
David Ricks, chair and C.E.O. of Eli Lilly and Company
Fatima Cody Stanford, M.D., M.P.H., M.P.A., obesity medicine physician at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School
Serena Williams, 23-time Grand Slam champion and managing partner of Serena Ventures
Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, co-founder of The Archewell Foundation, and chief impact officer of BetterUp

[From The NYT]

I love that Serena’s going too! She’s so busy these days with Serena Ventures, her venture fund. I hope Serena and Harry get some time together. I wonder which topics Harry will speak about – The Parents Network? BetterUp? Polo? How to write a bestseller? As I’m writing this, the British media hasn’t heard the Times’ announcement yet. They’re going to freak out. LMAO. Another trip to New York! I hope Meghan comes with him!

Holy Moley, that’s a BIG lineup.

    • Laura D says:

ITA – @Eurydice As I was going down the list to find Harry I kept saying OMG, OMG OMG. 😆

It’s going to be interesting to see how the BM are going to spin this one. I mean there are some serious names on that list and Harry is right there with them. The British media are going to be gutted. These are the networking opportunities they’re missing out on because they chose to push out the brother who actually worked.

There is going to be some serious cushion throwing at KP along with frantic phone calls to The Heritage Foundation to find a loophole (any loophole) to get Harry thrown out of the US. 😉

      • SaraTor says:

Lol – an incandescent William throwing cushions
I’m really enjoying Harry focused on his work and his causes, being charming and unapologetic. It seems like writing the book was cathartic for him and he’s less burdened or caught up in the past. I think separating their professional lives has been good too. Although the UK tabloids freak out, I notice the mainstream media reporting more on the work (ex Harry in Vancouver for Invictus) and less on “the Harry and Meghan circus came to town”. That being said, it will be great to see H&M together at Invictus, putting the lie to the “divorce” gossip storyline.

  2. Dee says:

The rota are going to lose their minds (what’s left) over this.

  3. It is just going to be a very bad day for Peg and of course his yes men who will have to tell him. Harry is knocking it out of the park while Peg isn’t sure what a park is.

    • Silver Birch says:

      😅😂🤣

    • Debbie says:

On the other hand, I’m certain that Harry’s schedule will have William suddenly make appearances and fight to be seen very soon. There’s nothing like a Harry sighting to prompt William back to work.

  4. Dee(2) says:

So. Between Harry and Meghan they have this, the Paley center honors which they are co-chairs of for Tyler Perry, Polo coming out, the Invictus games, and then Meghan’s show and potentially the launch of ARO in the next 3 to 4 months? And then anything else they haven’t announced? How long are they going to keep trying to pretend they aren’t successful and are crying themselves to sleep over what Tina Brown says, or that the Beckham’s aren’t speaking to them? Even without the health issues this year, they are clearly the better ROI.

    • Nanea says:

What’s up with the Paley Center Tribute though?

It’s on the same day as the NYT Deal Book Summit, Dec. 4, and it’s at the Beverly Wilshire in LA.

      • Beth says:

Maybe Meghan will attend while Harry goes to NY?

      • Dee(2) says:

I would imagine they are going to split it unless his interview is early in the day and he flies back that evening and just goes from LAX to the Beverly Wilshire. That sounds like a haul though to me

      • L4Frimaire says:

I think he’ll do Dealbook virtually since attendees are interviewed one on one.

      • Dee(2) says:

@L4Frimaire the fact that I’m sitting at my desk in my remote job and appearing virtually didn’t even cross my mind, smh.

  5. vs says:

    Go Prince Harry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At this point, H&M probably have a pied-a-terre in NYC. It would make a lot of sense. Outside of Harry, this is an incredible lineup given the recent elections! I can’t wait

  6. Lili says:

Good For Harry! He is moving well in the world, I thought the BM said he wasn’t qualified for anything yet he continues to be the CIO of Better up 5 years later

  7. Jais says:

Exciting! There’s so much he could talk about. I’d actually love at some point to see a joint interview with Harry and his ghostwriter who I think is so talented. Not necessarily at this event but in some other form. It’s just fascinating to me the collaboration.

  8. Tessa says:

Great list of attendees I hope harry has photo o p with Clinton
    William must be raging.

  9. Steph says:

I love the moves the Sussexes are making! So happy for them.

  10. sunnyside up says:

I wonder what the Wail will dream up/ look up in past papers to criticise Harry about on the day.

  11. swaz says:

Harry is in good company 😍

  12. Amy Bee says:

    I love this for Harry.

  13. tamsin says:

Wasn’t Meghan at this event a few years ago? I thought she and Melody Hobson made an appearance together. I just checked on the date of the Paley Award for Tyler Perry and the date is Dec. 4 also. Harry is going to be in two places at once? Or does Meghan make a solo appearance in LA while Harry is in New York. Talk about being a bi-coastal couple!

    • L4Frimaire says:

When Meghan did it with Hobson, Hobson was on Zoom so the only way Harry could do both events is by zoom. Gotta take advantage of that 3 hour time difference.

    • Kingston says:

      @tamsin
      This^ LOL

H has been such an energizer bunny this year, he’s now gonna show us how to be in 2 places at once!!! LOL

Anyhooo…………its obvious that he’s gonna have to offer apologies for his absence to ONE of these events. I wonder which one it will be? I believe the opportunity to publicly honor Tyler wd be a priority for the Sussexes, so imma give LA the edge over NY.

Moreover, H was just in NY in Sept doing several events; plus there are so many folks on the Deal Book agenda so how much time can any one person have, anyway? Wd he fly all the way to NY for just a 15-min appearance? (that roundtrip from Cali to London when chucky’s cancer was revealed doesnt count, nor does the coronation roundtrip.)

So I believe its more likely that he’ll do NY via zoom and be in-person in LA for Tyler.

  14. CM says:

    🤭🤭🤭 impressive list!!

  15. Feebee says:

What a great list of people, everyone of one would be interesting to listen to. I could maybe do without Bezos, his ex-wife would be better. However, wow! The company Harry is included in is impressive. He does the work and gets the recognition. William hasn’t worked that bit out yet.

    • L4Frimaire says:

Harry really is coming into his own. He really is establishing himself and what a great opportunity for him.

  16. wolfmamma says:

Yay Harry !!! What an amazing group of people. I’d love to be there!

So much positive energy from Harry. The picture of health and happiness and
SUCCESS. With Meghan right out there as well. Yayayay for you both!!!

No telling what the Brits are going to say about this and also the Paley awards.
    😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🥲😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

Christmas is early this year !

  17. Decca says:

The inclusion of Sara Nelson (international president of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, AFL-CIO) is AMAZING!!!!!!!
