A woman shouted her support for Prince Harry inside the courtroom yesterday

For years now, Prince Harry has been popping up in London to make appearances in court. What has consistently surprised me is how well he’s treated by paparazzi and the public for these appearances – I’ve seen videos of Harry walking in and out of the courthouse where the paps are calling out to him: “Sir! Over here, sir! Good to see you, sir!” The public reacts the same way if they catch a glimpse of him – cheers will erupt at the sight of him, and people jostle for a glimpse of him. It reminds me of his scheduled appearance at St. Paul’s Cathedral last year, for the Invictus anniversary service. The Windsors made a point of “snubbing” him, believing that they had set him up to look like a lonely, sad figure. Instead, the Spencers came out to support him, as did the public. The Windsors were super-salty that hundreds of people lined the streets and cheered for him.

All of which to say, people were thrilled to see Harry again on Wednesday. His security hearing was being held over two days, so he was in court again yesterday. That’s when some fan got inside the courtroom and began shouting her support for Harry.

As Prince Harry left a London courtroom, a woman in attendance shouted in support of the Duke of Sussex, directing an outburst at the press. Harry, 40, returned to court on April 9 for the second day of an appeal hearing pertaining to his security in the U.K. At one point, as the court was breaking before a private session and Harry was leaving the room, a woman shouted, “I support you, Prince Harry.”

The Duke of Sussex exited the courtroom alongside his team as the woman — who arrived late and was fidgeting with phones and a notebook during the hearing — turned to the gallery and said, “If you’re members of the press, you’re the reason he’s not in England.”

Harry later returned for the private part of the hearing.

Much of the argument on Wednesday centered on the fact that no formal risk assessment (RMB) was done when Harry lost automatic security in 2020. Instead, the government’s RAVEC committee gave him a case-by-case arrangement based on current needs.

Harry’s lawyer, Shaheed Fatima, delivered an emotional summary on Wednesday, saying: “One must not forget the human dimension of this case. There is a person who is sitting behind me whose safety, whose security and whose life is at stake. There is a person sitting behind me who’s been told he is getting a special bespoke process when he knows in his experience it is a process that is manifestly inferior in every sense. His presence here and throughout this appeal is a potent demonstration of how much this appeal means to him and his family.”

As she finished speaking, Harry raised his right hand to his face, visibly processing the weight of the moment.

The Master of the Rolls, Sir Geoffrey Vos, noted that the substance of the private session would be made public once both parties reached an agreement.

I’ve seen this moment reported as “Harry had to leave the courtroom because the woman shouted,” but it seems clear that he was already exiting the courtroom and that’s when the woman shouted her support? Anyway, it’s an interesting moment. I wouldn’t be surprised if the whole thing was some kind of tabloid op, but you never know. Harry also got more cheers as he left the courthouse yesterday. Is Harry already headed home to California?

  1. I read an article yesterday that said Harry had to be rushed out of the courtroom because a woman supported him loudly and I thought why was he rushed? Someone was trying to make it a big deal. So he was on his way out when the woman supported him loudly. Good for her expressing her support!

    • Hypocrisy says:

That was my thought also.. I do love that she let the press have it and slapped them with the truth.

    • Me at home says:

Was that the MoL? The same people who were spinning Trump backing down on his tariffs as Canada “bending the knee”? Yeah, they’re dishonest as the day is long.

Wishing this warrior well as he fights for adequate security when he visits the country he was raised in and fought for in Afghanistan. He did not choose his parents.

  3. sunnyside up says:

Nice to see her blaming the press for their hate campaign against our mixed race princess, if she were white I wonder how long the hate campaign would have lasted for, if there had been one at all.

I KNOW the media and the BRF would have you believe otherwise but, Harry and Meghan have a lot of support over here in Salty Island. They are loved, and a lot of us are deeply embarrassed at the way Meghan was treated (and is still being treated) by people who really should know better.

Yes, he has popular support but the press is more powerful than the politicians/lawmakers…so the people can express their support in public forums such as these, but Keir’s deal with Murdoch shows who has the actual power in Westminster.

And so the rats will continue making Harry into a security target, and Chuck does not care for anyone but for him and his rottweiler.

  5. Blogger says:

    Surprised they printed this bit:

“If you’re members of the press, you’re the reason he’s not in England.”

But it’s from People because the rats are cowards.

Bravo to her, whoever she is. The people support Harry even if the Crown doesn’t.

And there are more of the masses than the elite…so the Windsors, their grey men insects and the rats need to tread carefully.

Yeah the way it was reported by the British press the woman caused a disruption and they had to remove Harry. But it sounds that the woman shouted when he was already leaving the court.

  7. Normades says:

Harry just has so much swag when he walks. Great posture, at ease…but sure he’s miserable s/

  8. Jais says:

Well, he held his head high. I hope he gets adequate security but I don’t know that I trust the kings courts. Hope I’m wrong. Good job, Harry!

  9. Ginger says:

It’s very obvious how popular Harry is. Whenever he is in the UK he gets a lot of support from the public. I know the British press like to say how unpopular he is but that is clearly not true. The RF get booed while Harry gets cheered.

  10. Cassie says:

Bless you Harry , hope you are soon home safely with your loved ones .

  11. Nanooo says:

Kudos to that woman for her support and for reminding everyone that the British media bears the blame for Harry and Meghan leaving the UK.

  12. bisynaptic says:

    Go, Harry!

  13. Beverley says:

Get home safely, Harry. I know Lili and Archie (and their mama) will be happy you’re back.

  14. Katy says:

“Cheers erupt at the sight of him.”

This is how I feel every time I hear of him sneaking into the UK in plain sight. I hope he feels the love. Good King Harry.

  15. JFerber says:

Harry always is great with crowds– low-key, smiling, charming, dapper. TOB has NEVER been good with crowds. He can’t even smile genuinely. William is not a people person, unless that person is himself.
