Ricki Lake, 56, has been through a lot lately. She lost her home to the California wildfires this January. Over lockdown she was open about her struggle with hair loss. She also sadly lost her ex husband in 2017. Ricki has been as open about her wins, like her 2022 marriage to Ross Burningham and her recent facelift. We know about it because she told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Life that she’d had it done, explaining that she didn’t like how her neck looked after losing weight and wanted it fixed. She also gave a shout out to her doctor.
Ricki Lake… explained that she began overhauling her appearance six years ago amid a struggle with hair loss. Having shaved her head, she left her locks without dye as they grew back.
“I’ve also had, and I’ll reveal this to you [although] I’ve told other people,” Lake said. “I’ve had a lower face and neck lift.”
She placed her hands under her chin to draw attention to her jawline as host Andy Cohen gushed that she looks “so good.”
“Thank you, I kind of think it’s the best facelift I’ve ever seen,” Lake replied. “And my doctor, let me give a shout out because he’s a genius.
“Dr. Allen Foulad is the best, and I’ve sent many people to him,” she added.
Cohen, 57, joked that he was tempted to go to L.A. to visit Lake’s doctor, as he has had many guests on his show but their plastic surgery wasn’t as impressive.
Lake pulled her hair away from her face to show there was no visible scarring as a result of her face and neck lift. She then revealed that she decided to go under the knife after weight loss left her with loose skin under her face.
“I love that I can talk about it. I’m fully transparent, always have been,” she said. “I don’t want there to be any stigma. This is something that was bothering me.”
“I lost a lot of weight and I had this certain thing hanging and I had it fixed,” Lake concluded.
I have a friend who also got a lower face and neck lift, I’m sure at a lower price point, but her results are just as good. You can barely tell as she still looks like herself, and her reasoning was the same as Ricki’s, she had lower chin laxity that she wanted fixed. She was back socializing within a few weeks and no one was the wiser. Knowing her story, it makes me wonder when Ricki got her face done. It could have been in the last couple of months, as Ricki is a transparent person as she mentioned. I would counter that Ricki’s is the best facelift she knows about that she’s ever seen. We often just assume people look great naturally due to genetics or skin care.
It’s refreshing when a public figure admits that they’ve had plastic surgery. Celebrities shouldn’t have to reveal what they’ve had done, but I wish they wouldn’t fib about it by attributing their new face to diet, water intake or skincare. Some celebrities have been defensive about it lately, although it can’t be easy to deal with all the invasive toxicity and difficult choices that come with that job.

I always think it’s hilarious when celebrities say they didn’t get work done. I mean look at Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt, they definitely got work done.
Aw look at that pic of her with John Waters. The way I so much appreciate her being honest about the work and naming the doctor. From what I can tell these lower face and neck lifts end up looking better and more natural than too many fillers.
If I could afford that’s the surgery I’d get. I had bariatric surgery several years ago and the loose skin on my neck/chin is the only part that really bothers me.
same, but I have been using neck cream religiously since 2020. I have noticed some improvement with the waddle.
But with loose skin on the neck and face. Really the only option is cosmetic surgery.
But if you have loose skin around the abdomen and it causes a rash. Some insurance will cover the removal. Called a Panniculectomy.
But if you want Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) that is considered cosmetic as it tightens the abdominal muscles too. A lot of good surgeons will work with patients and pay for the extra tightening part for both.
Welcome to my Ted Talk. 🙂
I’ll have to try the neck cream! I’ve been reading interesting and positive feedback on estrogen cream on the face and neck too.
Fortunately/unfortunately for me I don’t have enough loose skin in the midsection to cause dermatitis or other issues, only enough to have more a cocktail server length apron, lol. I had a friend work with her doctor and they were able to have a tummy tuck covered when she had a hysterectomy.
Instagram is trying to get me to buy “ShapeShift V-Line Jaw Defining Serum.” I don’t know if it works, but it was interesting enough that I opened a link on my iPad (hence my ability to share its name with you today)
