Khloe Kardashian claims that she’s no longer ‘heavily Photoshopping’ her photos

For years now, we’ve been trying to keep track of Khloe Kardashian’s ever-evolving face and body. I still remember when she first came out with her BBL and she tried to pretend that her ass always looked like that. In recent years, the bigger issue has been her face work. Khloe rarely appears on red carpets, so she’s mostly seen on Hulu’s The Kardashians or on her social media. Her Instagram has been a problem for a while, because she’s spent years Photoshopping, filtering and editing her own photos to the point where she crossed the Uncanny Valley. Well, Khloe says NO MAS! She’s not going to filter the crap out of her photos anymore. Sure.

Khloé Kardashian has ditched the Photoshopping! During the latest episode of her podcast, Khloé in Wonderland, released July 17, The Kardashians star, 41, revealed that while there was a time when she “wouldn’t dare post a photo without heavily Photoshopping,” this is no longer the case.

The episode saw the Good American co-founder address various rumors and claims about her famous family, including that she “Photoshops every picture” she posts.

“I don’t,” Kardashian responded. “But there was a time that I definitely did. There was a time that I was around some people that would make me feel like I needed to. I also think it was the era too. I felt like a lot of people were Photoshopping or heavily Photoshopping more than they do now. I do feel like there was a time that we all just got consumed in this filter lifestyle and we couldn’t see ourselves without a filter,” she continued. “And there’s definitely days that I’m like, ugh, I need a filter. Don’t feel good about myself. But I’m on video. And I do like myself better in video than stills.”

The reality TV star went on to admit that she doesn’t think “I’m the most photogenic, but I’ll take 500 photos to get the one that I like.” “That’s okay. I’m allowed to do that,” she added. “But I will say there was a time that I heavily photoshopped.”

Kardashian then confessed that she looks like a “cartoon character” in her old photos “and it’s humiliating that I thought that was even a version of myself.”

“I feel bad that I thought I needed to look like that,” she continued. “But I was around people who were all doing that. And if they took my photo they would make me look that way before giving it to me. And then I would think that’s how I looked. And if I got paparazzied, I’d be like, ‘I don’t look like that. I look like this photo.’ And I really had to reprogram my mind to be like, okay, we have to lay off the filters. This isn’t real. That’s not how I look. And I don’t want to look like that. It was a strange time.”

“I’ll take 500 photos to get the one that I like” – might I humbly suggest just not taking photos for a second? There’s no rule that anyone has to post eleventy billion selfies, you’re not required to showcase yourself through any lens, filtered or not. So, I ended up looking through some of Khloe’s recent IG photos and she does seem to have eased up on the Photoshop. I wonder if she’s really committed to the “no filter” life though. I kind of think she’s just embarrassed that her edited photos always turned out so bad and so obviously manipulated. I’m posting some classics below!

Maybe the photoshopping is being reduced because she has done so much work on her face and body that she is where she feels comfortable.

    • Bethy says:

Yeah right. She always photoshops her chin and jaw smaller yet her face is still big.

    • StillDouchesOfCambridge says:

Her intention behind all the plastic surgery was not to have to photoshop herself to oblivion, to look like her photoshopped to oblivion pictures. Of course that makes sense.

The wheel will start again 💯 once she gets to that point where she’ll feel like she’ll need a facelift like mommy did and then will keep saying that she doesnt use filters anymore.

  2. ThatGirlThere says:

She should stop being a racist and who attacks Black women but co-ops the culture and style.

  3. Christine says:

I really hope she is in therapy, I can’t imagine being raised by someone who has to take 500 photos to get one she likes. Ugh, Khloe just depresses me.

  4. Neeve says:

The one with the chicken feet claws is shocking, so is that her real skin tone!?

    • Yup, Me says:

That is very clearly NOT her skin tone on her hands. But neither is whatever is going on on her face in that photo, either.

Personally, I hope Khloe is doing whatever she needs to develop her own healthy self confidence, considering she has her own (brown skinned) daughter, True, AND is very close to her niece, Dream, as well. It doesn’t matter what she tells the girls about themselves. If they see her acting like an anxious mess about her own appearance, they are more likely to adopt those same behaviors. Khloe was always the biggest in her family – tall and broad next to her more petite sisters. True is the darkest of the granddaughters (she and North) and, given the size of both of her parents (a 5’10” woman and 6’9″ man), is likely to be both tall and large. If Khloe doesn’t do whatever she can to fix her shit now, she’s going to do a lot of harm to her daughter.

Isn’t she the one who photoshopped her toddler? Was everyone doing that, too?

  6. M says:

If you told me that was four different people in those four photos, I’d believe you.

    • SarahCS says:

Sadly even when she posts a series of pictures from the same shoot (for want of a better word) she often looks like completely different people from one to the next.

*all the laughing gifs in existence*

That was my reaction. How about going a month without taking or asking anyone to take a single picture of you?

  9. HeatherC says:

It’s so weird with the Kardashian/Jenner drops lately. Their ratings must not be great, they’re trying to pivot from aspirational (haha) to relatable (I USED to do that but now I’m just like you and post pictures!)

  10. Sun says:

Remember when she absolutely freaked and had that un-photoshopped picture scrubbed from the Internet and she actually looked totally fine (great, even)!

It’s so clear that Photoshopping has such a detrimental effect on our mental health and literal self-perception.

  11. BeanieBean says:

She didn’t like paparazzi photos because they didn’t look like ‘her’–or rather, like all those photoshopped to the max photos her team was cranking out for her? She didn’t have a mirror?
