Matt Rife is a comedian known for “shocking” sexist jokes and getting a lot of weird plastic surgery on his face (which he denies and claims it was just puberty-in-his-20s). I think he’s also known for being weird/gross online, but I’m not going to do any research on all of that. I’m protecting my peace. Well, Rife made an announcement recently: he has purchased Ed and Lorraine Warren’s home and he is now the caretaker of the Warrens’ collection of paranormal, cursed and possessed items. The Warrens were famous paranormal investigators, and their work became the basis for The Conjuring franchise. The Warrens actually did take custody of many, many haunted, cursed and possessed items through their work, and one of those items was the infamous Annabelle doll. The same Annabelle doll which was on tour with Dan Rivera when Rivera died suddenly in Gettysburg last month. Now Matt Rife is the guardian of the doll.
Matt Rife is pivoting to the paranormal, at least when it comes to his new pad. The stand-up comedian has bought the former house of Ed and Lorraine Warren, the ghost hunters who inspired the couple played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga in The Conjuring franchise.
“I have officially purchased Ed and Lorraine Warren’s home and Occult Museum,” Rife wrote on Instagram on Friday, noting that he has become “the legal guardian, for at least the next five years, of the entire haunted collection, including THE ANNABELLE DOLL.”
In a separate video on TikTok, Rife explained the significance of his decision. “This might be the most important and prominent piece of paranormal history in the world,” he said. “I know a lot of you guys don’t know what any of this means whatsoever, but if you follow ghost stuff, this is as big as it gets.”
The comedian also clarified that while he does own the paranormal investigators’ former house, he does not own its various curios. “We are the legal guardians and caretakers of all 750 haunted artifacts and items in the Warren Museum, including the Annabelle doll,” he said. “We do not legally own the items, but we are the legal guardians and caretakers of the items for at least the next five years.”
Rife obtained Annabelle shortly after Dan Rivera, an investigator for the New England Society for Psychic Research, died suddenly while showcasing the infamous Raggedy Ann doll in July. The NESPR, which the Warrens founded, claims that the doll was at one point attached to “an inhuman demonic spirit.”
What I find odd is that the Warrens and their friends/associates didn’t think to set up an actual museum where the cursed/haunted items would have been in a safe place and people could visit, and it wouldn’t be a situation where some rando is suddenly caretaker of the collection. At the very least, that would have ensured that Annabelle didn’t kill people on the road. Anyway, Rife makes it sound like he knows where Annabelle is right now – when Dan Rivera died, no one would say where the doll was at the time and whether she was missing. Rife seems to be indicating that the doll is back in the collection. Hm. Guess she caught a flight home!!
INSANE ANNOUNCEMENT 😍🤯😈👹

I guess if anyone has to be in charge of cursed objects, might as well be this guy. He looks like a cursed object to me anyway, and nothing of value will be lost if we don’t get to hear whatever version of old DV jokes he comes up with.
He had a great bit where he went back and forth with a mother who has a son with autism. He basically said it was a blessing having an autistic son. He also had female positive back and forth with audience members and just cute jokes. I don’t understand why he decided to step into incel, basement dwellers Jordan Peterson sphere. Dummy.
Hating women for laughs pays really, really well.
I just read one of the links describing who the he1l this guy is, talking about how good-looking he became (the plastic surgery debate).
No, he looks creepy. That doll being out there somewhere is creepy, it’s all creepy. I’ve been interested in the Conjuring movies and the real couple, but the doll and this guy make it too fkn creeeeepy!!
