Teyana Taylor wore a stunning Burberry ‘coatdress’ to the 2026 BAFTAs

One of the things I’ve enjoyed the most about Teyana Taylor’s awards season is that she hasn’t gone back to the same designer for all of her awards-show looks. She’s been mixing it up and having fun and working with lots of different people. She hasn’t stuck to one silhouette either, which is also fun for the fashion people. At last night’s BAFTAs, Teyana wore Burberry – a spectacular custom piece with a high collar, beautifully tailored for her figure. This looks like a costume (complimentary). Gorgeous!!

Rose Byrne in Miu Miu, with Bobby Canavale in Prada. This is fine? I don’t hate it or love it. It reads as a tad bridal, but the dress is actually a pale yellow. Her styling is always on point and her face card is insane.

Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas in Armani. This is meh? I feel like she doesn’t really know how to dress for these awards shows.

Kirsten Dunst in Valentino, with her husband Jesse Plemons (who was there to support Bugonia). Kirsten’s look is awful. Can designers stop with the giant shoulders and puffy sleeves? Ugh.

Aimee Lou Wood in Emilia Wickstead. She’s lovely but this doesn’t suit her, nor does she look particularly comfortable in it. The pale pink washes her out and it looks like she’s afraid to move.

Gillian Anderson in Roksanda Spring 2026. Beautiful. Regal. Stunning. Gillian has spectacular style these days. This was one of my favorite gowns of the BAFTAs.

Now THAT is a coatdress, not whatever American Girl cosplay that Kate wears!

Since November, Teyana has been wearing the coolest stuff and confidently moves from athletic to tailored to gauzy to avant-garde. Her body is so good that even when she’s bundled up (like her appearance at Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade) she still works it by hitting amazing poses and creating the right moments for her clothes. I bet she’s one of the few who can create impact in person and for cameras with just a movement of her shoulder and a glance.

There was so much unfortunate satin this year – Teyana’s shows how it can be done. Gillian looks amazing.

Teyana and Gillian for the win. Dayum. Off topic but Ryan Coogler is moving ahead with the xfiles reboot and I have so many questions. Will it film in Vancouver at all like the original? Who will be cast?!?

    TT and Gillian ❤️

It looks like she stuck her face through a head of cabbage. The collar could have been half the size and still worked.

Teyana’s was one of my favorite looks I’ve seen so far from the red carpet. I love a dramatic fashion red carpet moment. We need more of them. I also like Rose’s dress – butter yellow isn’t a personal fave color-wise but I thought she looked beautiful.

    Jesse Plemons was ROBBED!

I guess I’m in the minority but I don’t really like Teyana’s coat-dress. The color and the fabric is lovely but it just looks overworked to me and it distracts from the silhouette. It looks like she’s wearing a robe to cover up the look she’s actually about to reveal.

I think Rose is my favorite here with Gillian in a close second. The color of Gillian’s dress is stunning. Rose looks stunning – incredible styling and I love the color.
