Politico: ‘It’s only a matter of time’ before FBI Director Kash Patel is fired

Two weekends ago, the Atlantic dropped a fascinating article about FBI Director Kash Patel and his 14-15 months as the nation’s top law enforcement official. The Atlantic’s sources were mostly current and former FBI agents and bureaucrats, all of whom are deeply concerned about Patel’s paranoia, unprofessionalism and, most of all, his binge-drinking. Dude is regularly getting blackout drunk and passing out in random places. He’s probably also drinking at work. Incidentally, since that Atlantic piece was published, Patel sued the magazine and lied his ass off in a presser. But the author of the piece, Sarah Fitzpatrick, is standing by her story. She even said that after the first story was published, she’s been “inundated” with “sources corroborating her reporting.”

Well, just hours before the shooting – or whatever we’re calling it – at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday night, Politico reported that Patel is very likely to be the next person axed from the administration. A “top White House official” told Politico that “It’s only a matter of time” before Patel is sh-tcanned and Trump is “fed up with the level of distraction.” Trump loathes people who drink to excess, btw. Trump is a teetotaler and he has a real baseline disgust with adults who drink a lot and/or can’t handle their liquor. As for what went down at the WHCD, Patel was there… and he wasn’t doing his job.

Kash Patel is once again under scrutiny—this time after shots rang out steps away from President Donald Trump and top administration officials. The embattled FBI was seen appearing to linger aimlessly in a video captured after a man exchanged gunfire with Secret Service at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner on Saturday.

In the footage captured by ABC News Journalist Linsey Davis, Patel is standing agape outside the Washington Hilton.

“Kash Patel standing around outside after the shooting like a random attendee and not the literal FBI Director is actually crazy,” Eric Spracklen, a rightwing political commentator, shared with his almost 300,000 followers in a post on X.

Other videos show Patel, who was a guest of the Daily Mail, crouched to the ground inside the venue, looking seemingly dumbfounded.

“There is a shooting and…The head of the FBI is just hanging out?” another X user wrote in a post that has racked up 850,000 views as of publication.

Patel was seen being ushered out of the Hilton through the front lobby at 10:02 p.m., about 90 minutes after shots were fired, The Washington Post reported. His girlfriend, who was also invited by the Mail, was hiding in a room holding hands with another man but later left with Patel, the New York Times reported.

The director joined Trump and other administration officials for a press conference at the White House later on Saturday, where he said the bureau he presides over is examining shell casings from the scene and interviewing witnesses from the dinner. The 46-year-old also urged anyone with information to contact the FBI.

Patel also lavished the president —who is reportedly considering firing him—with praise, telling Trump during the briefing he “inspire[s]” law enforcement.

“You give them the resources that they need, and you know, they know that you have their back, and that is a changing dynamic in this country,” Patel said to Trump, who patted him on the back.

[From The Daily Beast]

While the Secret Service is “in charge” of a crime scene of this kind, the FBI is always deployed as well, and they’re investigating alongside the SS. It sounds like Patel was just hanging out though, before he caught an Uber to the White House for that deranged press conference after the shooting.

I spy Erika Kirk in that video too.

    • Lucy says:

There’s a video of her walking out, crying “I want to go home.” Honestly she’s the only one who had an almost normal reaction to the event.

Kash’s girlfriend holding hands with another man is a crazy detail.

Kash and his girlfriend being guests of the Daily Mail is INSANE.

      • BeanieBean says:

That last part. I want to know the details of that. How much money was involved. As a federal employee, we had to be so careful for our white elephant parties at the holidays being sure not to go over $10 and to be careful when at a public event that somebody else doesn’t pay for our meals. And then there’s the trump admin.🤦‍♀️

  2. Jenny says:

This level of incompetence is truly jaw-dropping, so Patel standing around seemingly “agape” is actually appropriate. What a bunch of clowns.

  3. MFS says:

Well, Trump values loyalty over experience and expertise. This is why you get where you appoint loyalists: a bunch of incompetent fools!

  4. Side Eye says:

It’s so funny how they keep talking about firing him instead of just doing it. Almost as if they enjoy seeing him spiral and panic about it.

Everyone who licks these boots gets kicked right in the face with them. And I love this for them.

… The director of the FBI caught an Uber to the White House after an attempted shooting of the president and his administrative staff??? Are you kidding me? No one even offered him a lift? It seems like an insane security breach that he would EVER take an Uber! I saw a headline where he was comforting Kirk and I thought….trying to get sympathy via a widow so he doesn’t get fired…that checks

  6. Sue says:

Just a dude bro waiting for his uber when he is the director of the Federal Bureau of INVESTIGATION. He seemed to have no interest in investigating a shooting where the president was. Can’t wait to see what he makes up about what was written on the bullet casings. This administration is completely full of unserious people.
All they care about is mouth breathing into a microphone and calling that leadership.

The Secret Service getting the Vice Prez out of there before the actual Prez is crazy!

An FBI Director wouldn’t need to attend the WHCD as a guest of the DM! Wtf? However, with the entire US govt line of succession in attendance, along with most of the Cabinet members (which was beyond stupid and in a serious admin, would NEVER happen!), the director should have been there – as part of his job and to ensure every security precaution was taken and protocols were followed. Not as a sycophantic guest. But its funny that even MAGA is questioning if this shooting was fake, esp since it was all over SM last week that many of them now believe that the Butler “attempted assassination” of the Felon during the 2024 presidential campaign was also fake.

As for Kash’s gf hiding in a room holding hands with another man (WHAT?!?), is that where the rumors of him catching her cheating are coming from?

UGH! The antics, sheer incompetence, and evilness of this admin of clowns and fools will have u laughing one minute and crying for the next 15.

Seeing Patel’s flag socks for the event — one with stars, one with stripes — emphasized, to me, just how unserious and incompetent these people are. Patel has no sense of even the most basic security issues. Like, who might actually be driving the Uber that he called? While Trump and his cronies are focused on building the White House ballroom — assuming, I guess, that the president will never, ever leave the White House once the ballroom is built and, I guess, rented out as event space as an ongoing source of grift.

The politics are painful, so I’m focusing on the fashion. Vance once wore a truly awful formal shirt with black piping and studs — that, unfortunately, resembled the cute baby clothes that Princess Diana chose for her sons when they were very young. RFK jr apparently has a similar, awful shirt. Oh how far our political elite have fallen. Pamela Harriman would be horrified on so many levels.

I think I need to read some horoscopes.

    Bye Kash!

    1. “His girlfriend, who was also invited by the Mail, was hiding in a room holding hands with another man…” is amazing shade hahaha
    2. I love how he’s the shortest person in the video. You just know that irks him everyday.

    • Visa Diva says:

As soon as he’s fired, she’s dumping him for a new man with access to a private jet and a security detail.

    The sooner the better.
