P6: Jennifer Lopez & Brett Goldstein are dating but they’re keeping things ‘casual’

Over the weekend, Deuxmoi posted an exclusive about Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein. Brett and Jennifer worked together on Netflix’s Office Romance, and they had and have so much chemistry together. Brett has been obsessed with Jennifer for years, he’s seen all of her movies and he’s said, in interviews, that he wants to be her one and only. J.Lo played it pretty cool when they promoted Office Romance back in May, but you could tell that she liked him and she was flattered by his (respectful) obsession with her. Well, the Deuxmoi exclusive was that Brett and J.Lo sort of attended a Hollywood party together, even though they took pains to avoid being photographed together. Now Page Six says that they ARE dating. Casually.

It looks like Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein have taken their on-screen chemistry into real life.

A source tells Page Six that the former co-stars, who starred in the 2026 Netflix movie “Office Romance,” are seeing each other, telling us that things right now are “casual.”

Lopez, 57, and Goldstein, 46, have previously denied dating.

The pair were spotted arriving at — and leaving — a talent manager’s party in Los Angeles on Oct. 16 reportedly in the same car. They made sure to enter the party separately.

“The one thing they have in common is they both enjoy going out to parties and restaurants,” says the source, who snarkily added, “Unlike her ex Ben [Affleck] who always had a scowl on his face when they were out.”

[From Page Six]

“Unlike her ex Ben [Affleck] who always had a scowl on his face when they were out.” Let’s not get ahead of ourselves! From the way Brett talks about Jennifer, it feels like he wants to publicly claim her as his girlfriend and show her off to everyone. But that hasn’t happened, probably because Jennifer is just in such a different space after divorcing Ben Affleck. She did all of the sh-t we’ve been telling her to do for decades: she got therapy, she didn’t try to fix her problems with another man, she stayed single for a couple of years. I think she’s the one who wants to take this slowly, and Brett’s going at her pace. But I’m THRILLED! I hope this is forever! I hope Jennifer finally goes for the nice guy who doesn’t play games. Is she finally ready for that?

I hope it works out if that is what is going on. The mess with Ben (and it was) was so ugly. And her kids seemed really messed up about it and at least are still great friends with the Affleck kids. Ben really should have shut up about giving his kids relationship advice.

I just have such a weird feeling about this. Usually with men who put their partners on a pedestal, the excitement wears off once they “catch her”. He’s been admiring her for a long time and it seems he’s pursuing her while she keeps her cool. But if they start dating for real, Jen will want that ring at some point and once he marries her, will he pursue her in the same way? Because that woman loves to be pursued. I wonder.

  3. Barrett says:

    Didn’t he have a girlfriend?

  4. Colgi says:

Bummer. He just got 100% less hot to me.

  5. Chiron says:

It’s time Jen has fun with someone who thinks she’s all the shit and more. Because she is. Who cares how long it lasts, if it’s actually true, they’re dating. Jen gets to be adored, she’s not had much of that.

  6. StillDouchesOfCambridge says:

He’s been fanning over her for years. As I said yesterday, he’s a low hanging fruit for Jen and jen is going to go for the easy catch 💯. Nothing wring with that and after ben, someone with that big of an ego can use some daily adoration.

She wont be able to hide it. It’s just to hard for her not to be who she is. At this point, I don’t think we’re judging anymore. We’re all rooting for her.

I have a few love addicts in my life and do you know how hard it is for them to take it slow in a new relationship?!?!

It really does seem like JLo has gotten some help and I am really glad. I hope she and Brett are no cohabitating for a long time – thats the love addicts’ kryptonite.

I also am willing to believe that Brett is just a friend and I love that for her too.

  8. Kirsten says:

If this is true, I don’t like this for either of them. She could probably stand to date someone who’s maybe wealthy but not famous.

Office Romance was a terrible movie and I didn’t think the characters they played had any chemistry. But I will admit they are cute around each other as themselves. Brett Goldstein seems like a genuinely sweet guy in his interviews and less grouchy and less intense than Ben Affleck.

And I think part of the reason she took a break from dating after her divorce from Ben was her kids and Ben’s kids. Before she had kids, she would be barely single before jumping into a new relationship, a pattern she continued when they were young (their was that backup dancer, then A-Rod). Unlike the previous guys, she actually got married to Ben and her teenage kids were probably adjusting to him being their stepfather, only for them to have that ripped away. They’re old enough to understand things now and I think she realized what she was doing was impacting them negatively. Either that or her kids were like “you need to stop introducing and taking away these men in our lives.” Her kids are 19 and legally adults so I don’t think they are as major as a factor now. It also helps Brett doesn’t have kids himself so that probably makes things less complicated.

Came here to say the same thing about that movie they did together. IMO, It was awful.
Watched it for a while hoping it would get better and it just didn’t. Also agree that, in the movie at least, I didn’t get any chemistry between their characters.

      • Smart&Messy says:

Ahhg same. It was so bad, I quit it after less than 30 mins. Like offensively bad script. The acting was just as awful. Jen was just JLo playing office. Brett was not believable as a corporate lawyer in the least (walking around with an uncontrollable erection at the sight of CEO JLo). And yes, I can only see chemistry on the red carpet, zero in the movie.

Welp! We’ll see if she’s learned to love herself

  11. Fredi says:

After watching that disastrous Amazon doc about the making of her last musical effort in which she SHARED private letters from Ben with musicians, songwriters, background singers and the UPS man–WITHOUT Ben’s consent– and then blew off his discomfort once he knew, I feel that it’s not that Jennifer can’t find “a nice guy”, but that she can’t stop being self-obsessed long enough to share space with anyone who isn’t as obsessed with her as she is with herself. Girlfriend needs to go a few years without a man. Take up the hoola-hoop. Go on a girls’ trip to Bali. Learn to bake sourdough. ANYTHING that doesn’t involve a man and a red carpet.

I have some friends like this. Two actually. Not self obsessed but in love with LOVE. They are in love every 6 months to a year and it’s THE ONE. And that’s gone on 30 years. They are addicted to the attention of new love and can’t go the distance when it gets boring or familiar. A lot of men are like this. In my case, both the friends are women. One has been engaged 4 times. I bought two bridesmaids dresses I never used.

As much as I wish they would discover the joys of not going out, doting on a pet that sleeps on the bed, talking to friends for hours on the phone without someone whining they aren’t being paid attention to, or planning a trip without checking with someone, it’s just never going to happen. It dawned on me one day it’s just not how they are built – the same way I disappeared in my marriage and it was really bad for me and my mental health. I am just built to be single. They’ve been the happiest years of my life all 16 years of them.

It’s tough for me because I just want to shake them. but I’ve resigned this is who they are. Telling them about the joys of single life falls on deaf ears, the same way when they tell me there’s so many great guys out there and I should try again does the same.

We’re going to be 80 and they will be flirting at the nursing home saying they found THE ONE. Again. For the 50th time. I always joke that I am the Dorothy to their Blanche Devereaux

  12. Slough says:

Whatever becomes of this union, she can’t blame any of her past partners on how she comes across. It’s all on you, Jenny.

  13. SIde Eye says:

Dare I say as much as I think most women are just better off single … I like this pairing? He’s adorable. And he is really into her.

I didn’t like their movie, but I think they are cute together *ducks and runs*

  14. Jizz says:

Showmance. She needs the media attention and he has a long term gf. Voila.

    • VilleRose says:

He broke up with his girlfriend (Beth Rylance) awhile ago. I know he was with her during covid, I learned that fact when Ted Lasso came out. But they no longer follow each other on social media.

  15. Lilly (with the double-L) says:

I don’t know. It’s P6, so we’ll see. Not that I can’t see it, I just prefer more sources. It seems like they’d have fun. There were pics here where I thought “Wow JLo’s bodyguard is hot.” Recently there are reels citing the same thing about her bodyguard being fine.

  16. jferber says:

I don’t think this is a showmance and I certainly hope it’s not. I wish she would give him a real chance, because he is NOT her type and that’s a good thing. Don’t lower your standards, Jennifer–broaden them. Good luck.

  17. LeahTheFrench says:

Well, in all the photos where he has his arm around her, he certainly seems very happy 😊. Good for them if this is true.
