Noah Wyle is People Magazine’s 2026 Sexiest Man Alive

I love it when People Magazine acknowledges the demographic realities of their readership. People Magazine’s most loyal readers are over 35 years old, and those readers are not looking for some fetus-looking Gen Z guy to be named People’s Sexiest Man Alive. No. We want someone grizzled, the thinking woman’s sexiest man alive! And so that’s what People Mag gave us this year: 55-year-old Noah Wyle is the 2026 Sexiest Man Alive.

Wyle is enjoying a career resurgence these days because of the huge success of HBO Max’s The Pitt. I’ve watched some of The Pitt and it stresses me out, but I get that it’s supposed to stress people out because of the realism. Noah is great in it, and it’s cool to see how his once-boyish handsomeness has aged into a comfortable sexiness. Plus, this title helps promote The Pitt Season 3, which begins airing in January. The Pitt has already garnered two Best Actor Emmys for Wyle.

You can see Wyle’s SMA package here, the photos are nice and very rugged/pickup-truck/normal dad. I could honestly find more flattering photos of Wyle on any given red carpet, but I get that he was going for a certain look and I’m not mad about it. His interview is pretty standard stuff – dad jokes, talking about his wife and kids, talking about The Pitt. It’s nice. Not a bad choice at all, honestly.

I did not have him on my SMA bingo card, but ok!

    • CatGotMyTongue says:

Just for the record, I think these things are silly. But I didn’t have it being someone age appropriate for me on my bingo card! At least it wasn’t Brad Pitt!

  2. Bama says:

No, he’s not. Wonderful actor though

  3. MidnightSuperNova says:

    I disagree.

We have Aaron Pierre and Sterling K. Brown and People continues to act like there are no Black men that exist.

    Of course.

    • Jais says:

There was a period where there were 3 black men on the cover, idris, John legend and MBJ, back when people pretended to care about diversity. Now people barely even cover or write about anyone who’s not white. If we get another Oscar’s so white this year, I’m betting it will barely be covered. I was expecting Bad Bunny. Has there even been a Latino sexiest man? Or an Asian one? Pretty sure there has not.

  4. Alicky says:

Sure, fine, but that cover photo isn’t the best, IMO.

    • Coplaya says:

This is an unflattering picture to say the least. But then People has always managed to take the ‘sexy’ out of the cover.

  5. Chiron says:

Points for age but sma, not really? Ha ha. He’s fine, just not *fine* .

I really enjoyed him in the Librarians and Leverage Redemption. His career looked a bit kaput around then but here he is. Good on him.

  6. PunkyMomma says:

    No.

  7. Devrim says:

He’s not even the hottest actor on The Pitt

  8. Sue says:

Lol I guess I am in the minority here. Excellent choice.

  9. Thinking says:

I think the choice makes sense. Unless I’ve missed something (which is possible), he might be one of the few actors in his age range and above that doesn’t have a hint of a scandal around him. Maybe they wanted to go with a non-controversial choice.

I usually think of Pitt or Cruise getting this title, but now they’re considered to be weirdos so they can’t be chosen.

  10. Scarlett says:

I saw the hint video yesterday and it sounded like a heart monitor….I was hoping it was Dr. Robbie. Great choice, have loved this guy since he was Dr. Carter!! They grow up so quickly….sigh.

Is he conventionally sexy, no….but he has a certain something going for him which I find very attractive.

  11. Sarah says:

I agree with this! Excellent choice People.
