Kate Gosselin stomps her way through DWTS finale: “I’m so controversial”

*Actual performance begins around the 3 minute mark*

As many of you probably saw, Kate Gosselin returned for the big Dancing With the Stars finale last night. She even danced! And she did my favorite dance of all time, “Paparazzi”. When she did it during the competition, she looked like a deranged drag queen, stomping and clawing her way through the “dance” – when she wasn’t being dragged along by her poor partner like the rhythm-less dead weight that she was and is. For her finale performance, Kate did “Paparazzi” then mixed it up with “I Will Survive”. And you know that sh-t was terrible. Kate still sucks the life out of any dance.

Okay, Kate gave a million interviews last night, and there’s a ton of info about her appearance, so I’m just trying to do the best and worst pieces:

For her encore performance on Tuesday’s Dancing with the Stars finale, a smiling Kate Gosselin revamped her notorious “Paparazzi” routine. When the music segued into disco classic “I Will Survive,” partner Tony Dovolani ripped off her skirt to reveal a sparkly micro skirt beneath. The number ended with the 35-year-old mom ascending high into the air on a platform; a close-up camera caught her giggling awkwardly.

Despite much-documented friction with Dovolani during her run on the show, Gosselin said before her dance, “for the record, Tony, I heart you,” tracing a heart shape with her fingers.

In rehearsal footage, the reunited pair clashed over how to rework their routine. “I wanted to make it more difficult because that’s really who I am,” she explained — but then balked when Dovolani suggested to saunter up to the judges. “I’m afraid to do that part!”

Sighs a frustrated Dovolani: “It’s one thing saying… you want something, it’s a whole other thing to do it.”

As they practiced, the 35-year-old reality star surmised: “I would guess that 90 percent of my audience doesn’t like me. I’m so controversial.”

Of her dancing skills? “I could stand there in the middle of the floor and people would [still] judge me. It doesn’t matter if I did a Nicole [Scherzinger] or Evan [Lysacek] performance,” she adds. “I would still get picked apart to pieces — so I might as well have fun with it.”

The Kate Plus 8 and Twist of Kate star adds: “I would really like America to see the real me. Just doing my best, laughing at myself.”

[From Us Weekly]

Because it’s all about her. That’s what I always think with Kate: “IT’S ALL ABOUT ME!!!” She was also promoting her new show, telling E! News: “Kate Plus 8, presto chango! The kids and I went away on a birthday adventure—my six turned six. I’m old. And then we have Twist of Kate. That is a show that is just me, not including the kids. I’m very excited to get that on the road.” She also rambled on an on about herself to Radar, saying, “You know, moms-of-eight don’t typically do this, but you know what, whatever, I just had fun and this week was so much fun practicing, we practiced less and laughed more, and I just had a blast. This was just my redemption week. I know that a lot of people love me and support me, and I know that because when I’m at Target, they scream across the aisles, when I’m at the airport they’re screaming for gates saying ‘We love you Kate, we support you,’ and for that I really have no words, cause you know, how many times in life do you get to do your daily errands and people say ‘I love you?‘” Barf.

Meanwhile, PopEater’s gossip guy has some hilariously bitchy quotes from a DWTS insider, all about what a f-cking diva Kate is: “We had all forgotten just what a nightmare Kate was. She is the only celebrity in the entire 10 seasons who has demanded a security guard be with her at all times, and nothing anyone does is good enough. Last night, she actually wanted the temperature of the ballroom changed before she hit the floor. Kate hates to sweat and this was just another opportunity for her to be difficult.” Oh, and none of costume designers or makeup artists wanted to work with her last night, they had to flip a coin to see which poor bastard had to do her.

I am boycotting the show until they stop putting professionally-trained dancers on. Of course Nicole won, she was the best dancer there. It doesn’t change the fact that she had no business being on the show with 11 other people with little to no real dance experience.

  2. sarcasma says:

oh kate, you’re the perfect dancing wreck and you don’t even know it(or maybe you do?)

  3. Amneh says:

    Scary.

  4. Maritza says:

She’s only going to get worse with the more fame and money she makes. Although I don’t blame her for having that much security with her, people do hate her guts.

  5. scotchy says:

    ha ha HAaaaaa,
    this is hilarious.

  6. Whitey Fisk says:

I can’t help but think about how terrible she must be in bed.

Pathological repression and incapacitating perfectionism can hamper romance a bit.

  7. susanne says:

Whitey, I can’t even imagine…She probably stomps through that, too.

I don’t get how she says she just wants America to see her how she really IS…it’s not like she’s an actress, she’s on a reality show. All we’ve seen is Kate being Kate, and as she said, 90% of her audience hates her. She says she just doesn’t understand it, but to us, it’s all too clear.

    She’s just really unlikable.

  8. MonicaBee says:

I fast forwarded until the dancing began, and made it through about a minute and a half before I had to turn it off.

“Awkward” doesn’t even begin to describe Kate’s dance moves. She look so uncomfortable, and the movements are very deliberate and slow… not graceful and sweeping like they should be.

No wonder she got kicked off…

  9. zen says:

Kate kind of reminds me of a much older Kendra W. with some of those faces in that clip…yuk.
Ill be glad when both her shows flop and she’s out of the news.

  10. bros says:

hahahhahahahha her back ball changes are hilarious. they are so heavy and leaden. you can hear her saying in her head side ball change, back ball change BACK BALL CHANGE!

  11. Captain says:

And we only have ourselves(society) to blame for creating and encouraging garbage(reality tv show stars) like this. Reality tv has really made the whole idea of “celebrity” a fuckin joke. I miss when people used to actually have talent to be called a celebrity. This shit has gotten ridiculous.

  12. GrnMtGirl says:

I Love that Gray Shirt she’s wearing in the bottom two pictures

  13. Lulu says:

Okay! Am I the only one that thinks her costume was a mean prank?

She looked like she was wearing a glittery body cast!

    Why?? Why?

  14. Dorothy says:

Agreed Kolby! It is so annoying!

  15. audrey says:

She’s so white, I be she shits mashed potatoes! get some moves, girl! it’s like watching a piece of wood try to dance.

  16. Feebee says:

LOL @ Whitey and ITA with Kolby and Susanne… what the hell does she think her reality show is if it’s not her being herself. She can’t handle the fact that America has seen her be herself and we just can’t stand her.

Her actual dance wasn’t even her worst piece of dancing… no that was the opening number when all she had to do was pitter patter backwards. She had to stomp backwards like she was on a 6 inch beam whe was going to fall off. No wonder they gave her the huge feather, the less we could see of that mess the better.

  17. Lem says:

never realized how much she looks like kendra

  18. Brittney says:

    ..it’s “kick, ball change”

  19. snowball says:

Tony is so hot. What on earth did he do to the producers and PTB at DWTS to deserve this monstrosity? God, does he have to dumb down the choreography for her or what? I feel sorry for him during the lifts.

I only watch TLC for odds and ends shows; why is every other show about little chocolatiers or bakers or parents of multiples or this bitch?

ITA Kolby. It’s not like, oh, Len didn’t hand it to Nicole anyway, even before Evan and Erin danced. The judges slobbered over her all season, it was a foregone conclusion from the first show.

  20. Theresa says:

You know how Kate behaves? Just like anyone of us would if we were plucked from obscurity and plopped down in the middle of the circus that is reality TV celebrity. We all would have no clue how to act, no idea how we come across when a microphone is constantly shoved in our faces, and amateurs with expensive digital cameras are always taking pictures (hoping for angry face, or even better, a flipping of the bird). I am not defending Kate’s insufferable portrayal of herself, but I also can understand why she comes across as she does. The woman has no filter.

  21. lucy2 says:

Is she really only 35? I thought she was mid 40s.
There’s no excuse for treating people like crap, which it sounds like she does if no one wants to work with her. But as everyone can see, it’s all about her and her ego. Gross.

  22. ViktoryGin says:

    Kate: “I’m so controversial.”

    Tony: “How are you controversial?”

    Hahahaha. Exactamente.

I have to admit, she continues to look better. Damn, that check from DWTS must be fat.

  23. TaylorB says:

I think that she must be the worst dancer ever on DWTS, she makes Tucker Carlson look like Fred Astaire. But damn it was funny to watch.

  24. popcorny says:

Kate said she could just stand there and people would judge.
She also said that she thinks 90% of her audience hates/dislikes her.
-I think those put her “I’m controversial” quote into context.
Also, when asked why she was “controversial” she said she didn’t know (why).
There was nothing diva, self-centered or arrogant about that -she was/is absolutely correct.
She’s obviously insecure and doesn’t have self confidence (and this is what is also translated and seen via (aka: the cause of) her stiff/awkward dancing).
I can hardly believe I am defending this woman, she moves me neither way.
I just think she’s hugely misunderstood and unfairly picked on most of the time.

  25. Tru says:

I miss getting my laugh on, watching Kate stumble through the dances, all mean inside..LOL

  26. missmilly says:

You have to give this woman some credit…has everyone forgotten she has 8 small children and was married to the biggest dork of the year but at some point she really loved him and it worked but then she realized he was a big ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ?! Yikes–it’s hard to be momma 24hrs 7 days a week with just one, imagine 8!!! She needs a break every now and then…she does good.

  27. ganjagirl says:

the glorified cherry picker ride was hilariously cheesy…thanx for the vid

  28. Lady D says:

I’m with you Kolby, both Nicole and Evan shouldn’t have been there. Both pro’s with years of dance experience. I think Erin should have won. I was of the impression that the premise of this show was to teach non-dancers how to do it? I only started watching TV in Jan after a 15-year absence. Captain’s right, it is disgusting and astounding what is passing as a ‘celebrity’ now. I bought a six-month cable package and there is no way I’m renewing it. I thought TV was disgusting before, I’m almost in shock now. Using the ‘f’ word on South Park, when did that happen? And the gore, oh my. Reality stars, OMG what is all this crap? I have to admit I did watch Dancing with the Stars, I wanted to see this Kate Gosselin that everyone is always slamming. I must say, they were right to slam her dancing, but I doubt I could have done any better.

  29. Corina says:

Um no, Kate does not behave how all of us would behave if we suddenly became famous. Know how I know? Because there are literally thousands of famous people with more grace, class, and self awareness than Kate. Thousands! Even vapid reality TV stars on MTV and VH1 have – at times – shown more of a grasp on reality and common courtesy than this woman. Even Kristen Stewart, who has gone on record repeatedly about how awkward she feels being thrust into the spotlight, is more polite and likable than crazy Kate. Sorry, I just really dislike her SO MUCH. Also I don’t understand why TLC (or should I say T”L”C because idk how much actual learning happens over there) needs to make all these varieties of little people shows. I’m not positive on the correct, non-offensive term – I think midgets is not ok? – but personally just cause someone is smaller than average doesn’t mean I care about them or their chocolate making skills. Just saying.

  30. DSM says:

I have watched this woman manipulate herself, her ex-husband, her children, her family and anyone else she can exert her control upon. That would include her former dancing partner Tony, Emeril, whom she assaulted with a utensil and yes, even those misguided enough to feel sympathy for her. Any emotional drama she contrives for herself, has been, and will continue to be, an act that feeds into her narcisism. She exhibits the classic profile of a person with Sociopathic tendencies and for this I feel sorry for anyone who thinks they are close to her.

  31. snowball says:

Lady D, Erin had years of ballet training.

Kristi Yamaguchi said translating ice skating to dancing is unbelievably hard. You don’t step (obviously) in skating, the whole timing is different and when you’re a singles skater, figuring out how to dance with a partner only magnifies the problem.

  32. Sns02215 says:

What is up with all these MORONS who keep posting saying, ‘Oh Kate, you have it so rough cuz you have eight small children…you deserve to be a total fucking c*&t to everyone, it’s your RIGHT!’

No, it is not. No excuse for treating people like crap. If you really WERE a good mother, you’d be home taking care of your EIGHT KIDS rather than whining into a camera every chance you get about how hard you have it.

Tell that to the single mothers out there who are REALLY struggling to support their kids.

    Whiny, annoying BITCH.

  33. original kate says:

malcolm x was controversial; jackson pollack was controversial; margaret sanger was controversial. in order to be controversial, you have to actually DO something. she is just a famewhore whose face america is sick and tired of seeing.

  34. Mentok the Mind Taker says:

Controversial, my @ss. Repulsive is the word that comes to mind (and makes the stomach turn).

Oh, and Theresa — don’t tell me how I am or how I would be.

I know I wouldn’t whore out my children so I could be famous, and then ignore/abuse them for the sake of my vanity. And she wasn’t “plucked from obscurity”. She pursued this, and obviously will continue to do so until people truly get sick of her or the Plane of Doom finally crashes.

  35. teehee says:

It takes more to be a good or respectable -or even a liked- person than smiling on cue.
She thinks the more she appears to be positive, and makes herself sound positive, the better she will come across when really nobody cares how she TRIES or WANTS to appear.
We look at her actual behavior and not what she outwardly feigns to possess.

  36. Leek says:

I thought we did see the real Kate emasculating her husband through several seasons of Jon & Kate Minus Two Testicles.

  37. Cinderella says:

I noticed Brooke was having a hard time holding her smile together in front of that crazy bitch.

Everyone was applauding because they knew they were finally rid of her.

  38. Laurie says:

I think it’s more like 99% don’t like her. 90% is much too generous.

  39. tooey says:

loathsome is not synonymous with controversial. Katg is loathsome.

@Theresa, she was not “plucked” out of obscurity. She’s pursued fame with a dogged determination. She could have stepped away any time. If Sandra Bullock could preserve her privacy in the face of the Jesse James bs, Kate frickin’ Gosselin certainly could.

  40. Anastasia says:

Yeah, I would NOT act like that. Why? I’m not a narcissist, I have some social skills and I think of other people besides myself.

I can’t believe we still have people pushing the BS line about her being a poor put-upon mother of thousands and GOD she just wants a break, poor Kate! How could we not want her to have just the little joys in life! Poor Kate! She’s so awesome!

It’s enough to make me throw up. There’s nothing poor Kate about her, she’s a calculating, self-centered, attention whore who is SERIOUSLY deluded about her importance in the world and the length of time she has left in the spotlight.

  41. Ruffian9 says:

    “I’m so controversial.”

    Sigh. No, you’re a reality show has-been.

  42. Sonja says:

That was hilarious. She might not be half bad if she lightened up more and removed the stick from up her butt.

  43. Angel says:

Everyone loved this bitch until her ‘perfect’ life fell apart, and her dumbass husband left her. Bam. a reason to show your pathetic envy; Her husband left cause she is a useless bitch. HATRED JUSTIFIED AND GO! And the same dumbasses who were all ‘aw, what a cute American family’ turned on her like the piranhas they are. And so fucking fast it was amazing. Goes to show how disgustingly impressionable the American audience is. Good work, losers.

  44. jewel64 says:

I have never heard of Kate & Jon Gosselin until all these websites & TV shows kept yapping about her. I’m glad I didn’t watch it, because I don’t wish to see a selfish, vain, narcissistic berate, belittle and mistreat her kids and husband. She is an uberbitch who thinks she is special and deserved of her celebrity. I wish she would go away, as she has done NOTHING to deserve being a celebrity other than giving birth to 8 kids and being lucky enough to be selected by TLC to be on a reality TV show. Reality TV sucks–now you are getting these no-talents like Kate Gosslin, Heidi Montag, Stephanie & Spencer Pratt, etc. becoming celebrities because they appear on these crap “Reality” shows. What happened to the days when a celebrity was a person of merit or talent? Kate Gosselin needs to disappear, but the media insists on giving this narcissistic uberbitch face time. Not only that, her stupid supporters keep insisting on what a poor, put-upon, hardworking Mom she is and how she’s soooo misunderstood.
We understand her all right. She’s just a despicable, unlikeable uberbitch.

  45. jewel64 says:

Postscript: It was NAUSEATING seeing her face up close like that. That clearly represents the relationship between this woman and the rest of the world: the media is constantly THRUSTING her ugly face in our faces, whether we like it or not. NO wonder this no-talent biotch is so hated.

I wish the crane had malfunctioned and continued up, up, up, pushing Kate out of the studio and out of our TVs forever. Either that, or it suddenly jerked, causing her to fall several feet down to the dance floor.

Probably seeing her fall off the crane and end up in a crumpled, broken heap at Tony’s feet would have been her finest moment on the dance floor.
