Canalis has proven today how stupid she really is – something I’ve long assumed. I disagree with those that think Clooney made her write the retraction: I’m thinking he is still blissfully unaware of her antics today and she was trying to shut that story down before he found out. To bad her retraction makes her look even more pathetic.
Clooney and Aniston have been friends for years. They run in the same circles and have known each other since Clooney filmed ER on the same lot as Friends (which both debuted in 1994, when he also guest starred on Friends). Aniston was one of the first people Clooney signed up for phone duty for his Haiti benefit and she was one of only a handful of people that celebrated with Clooney post-telethon at Sunset Tower. There were reports recently of the two dining with Nicole Kidman while all three were in Hawaii filming, not to mention they have vacationed in the same large groups in Mexico within the last couple of years (not to mention she has stayed at Clooney’s place in Italy). He most certainly would not be happy to have Canalis commenting negatively on Aniston not only because it publicly reflects poorly on him (and he knows how such comments get run with by the media), but also simply because he wouldn’t want to see something negative like that said and spread about a friend.

Either way, bad form to be associated in any way with a disparaging comment about J. Aniston, who is both a big celebrity and a close long-standing friend of Clooney. I remember back in 2005, Aniston said in one of her many interviews that George was staying neutral in the Pitt-Aniston divorce, since he is close friends with them both. I speak 5 languages because my grandparents on one side spoke primarily Italian, my grandparents on the other side spoke primarily German, I took French in high school, Spanish in college, and I speak English. To say I was all thumbs at first is a huge understatement (as well as ironic since I key with my thumbs!). I accidentally retweeted a couple of times (luckily they were harmless tweets) because I simply hit the wrong button.
In Ely’s defense, she could have simply hit the wrong button and is now trying to say she didn’t *deliberately* retweet.
Any post she is in with Clooney gets this much attention. This is nothing new. She is not liked by his fans at all. I would go so far as to say that she is one of the two least liked girlfriends he has shown in public. The gossip sites know by now that whenever they post an article about Clooney & Canalis it will bring lots of attention to their site. Lots of negative attention to Clooney and his piece.
Look if she is dumb for writing “red” instead of “read” well then most Americans are because so many of them sure can’t spell the difference between “there”, “their” and “they’re”.

Rosanna: Don’t be so quick to judge. Apparently, you don’t know that punctuation belongs INSIDE the quotation marks. Everyone makes mistakes, but when you choose to call people out, at least make sure your post is correct.
I can say whatever I want about Aniston, it won’t be on gossip blogs 5 minutes later. When you’re in the limelight you have to watch what you say. Fair or not its the way it is.

She has almost 200 tweets to her name, she regularly retweets things from PETA and her account was opened on 19th April so this isn’t posted in the first handful of tweets that she has made on this account.
These new tweets make her sound like a spoilt brat. Grow up Elisabetta. And for the record, I won’t be watching Leverage.
Yes and I see that Stan (or someone) has already run to E! online and gotten them to post a nice fluffy “explanation” of why she posted it. However, denying it, not good, she would have fared better stating ‘I retweeted something I found funny, I am sorry people took offense. PS – Trust me Clooney apologized to Aniston privately. He will not defend her publicly, but rather will use press releases to minimize the damage. Already on EOnline.

Yeah, she’s retweeted a bunch of stuff before, and the original thing was in her native language, so I don’t think it was a language problem.
If she intentionally retweeted because she thought it was funny – she should own up to it, and if she feels bad then say oops sorry, just a joke. I don’t agree with it and think it was a stupid thing for a high profile person to do, but all this backpedaling and blaming twitter is silly.
I don’t think the E write-up came from George’s people. He would have insisted on a public tweet apology by her – especially as his name is getting dragged into it and all the coverage is talking about who and what side he chose in the divorce. She should have tweeted something like ‘I re-tweeted a comment by a friend that was made in jest. I meant no offense. I apologise if I offended anyone’ and it would have been the end of it.
Maybe the producers at Leverage pushed for the E fluff piece to be run as they have been using her name (by virtue of trading on George’s name) to sell the new season of Leverage and they have been promoting her as the super guest star to watch for in this coming season on the show. Her not being in favour with the general public doesn’t help sell the show to new viewers that they are desperately looking for.
Other possibly – she has an American agent for her ‘acting’ career – maybe he is playing damage control in the lead up to her first acting gig in the States going to air in a couple of weeks. If he can’t get her work, he can’t get a commission. Lord knows she doesn’t think she has done anything wrong and she is acting all petulant and ‘it’s not my fault’ on twitter.
If George was pushing for a fluff piece to calm things down, his standard is to go straight to People magazine, not E Online. Hollywood is run on politics – she is hurting herself by not owning up to the situation. George’s image is built of being humble and modest in all his interviews and interactions with fans. His girlfriend acting like this and refusing to take ownership of her social commentary doesn’t reflect well on him, as she is his choice of what he wants in a woman. So are we to conclude that he surrounds himself with bitchy, petulant, self-absorbed people with no regard for anyone else? People who deny and blame other as to not take accountability for their actions. Who he chooses to spend his time with says a lot about who he is. Birds of a father maybe? This is a guy who has a UN appointment and of all the people in the world he could be with, this vapid woman is his choice? If that is how he wants to live his life, good luck to him. But I won’t be seeing his next film to help fund paying for the vapid women that he surrounds himself with.
The ‘I would never insult Jen’ tweet was written in perfect English without spelling mistakes , she can barely string two words together on her tweet with out misspelling something or phrasing things incorrectly.
It also came from the web rather than blackberry like most of her tweets.

She has deleted the retweet from her account as well as the tweet that blamed twitter for what happened. Someone has been spoken to harshly if she has taken it down now a few days after the fact when ‘it wasn’t her fault’. I am more surprised that she hasn’t been out strutting around LA to get pap coverage.
George is confirmed to be attending some Spike TV event on the weekend – if she shows with him at that and he is fine with taking her as his guest to an official event this week, then I hope his career crashes and burns from now until the day after forever. She may be a vapid, stupid, catty woman lacking respect for anyone else but if he puts her on more red carpets and takes part in more staged photo ops with her, then he is encouraging her behaviour and rewarding & enabling it.

And no, it was not a planned publicity stunt, since a real apology would have been made if that were the case. She tried to get some publicity out of it but is too arrogant and stupid to even do that well. As it stands now, everyone knows she did intended to do the retweet and is now lying about it. She has even tried to blame Twitter. She’s done everything except take responsibility.
