Dean McDermott in intensive care after another dirt bike crash

Tori Spelling’s husband, Dean McDermott, is in the intensive care unit after a nasty spill off a dirt bike. Viewers of the couple’s reality show know that Dean’s growing enthusiasm (obsession?) with dirt biking has been a source of strife for the couple lately, and that Dean has already had one previous accident. Sources say McDermott will be ok.

Tori Spelling’s husband Dean McDermott is in an intensive care unit after a dirt bike accident.

The reality star, 43, has been hospitalized with a punctured, collapsed lung, ET confirms. He is expected to stay in ICU for a few more days, but is said to make a full recovery.

Earlier this year, McDermott was in a motorcycle accident in which he fractured his shoulder.

As a wife, here’s how I would react: first, I’d freak out. Then, once I found out my husband was ok, I’d kick his ass for being a 43-year-old guy playing on dirtbikes and wrecking himself. Seriously, does this whole dirtbike thing reek of midlife crisis or what? I guess it’s better than chasing 20-year-olds. Anyway, I hope Dean is okay and I’m sure we will be seeing an entire episode of “Tori & Dean” dedicated to this very soon.

    As men get older, many

    1. Give up their bikes because they are responsible for their wife and kids.

    2. Stay with their bikes but use a lot of common sense and don’t hotdog like a dumb kid.

Then there are those with no common sense who are dangerous to themselves and others.

Guess I’d wreck a motorbike too, to get away from Tori Spelling.

He will always be a dirtbag on a dirtbike for what he did to Mary Jo Eustace. Yeah, yeah, it’s been years, but I’m still bitter for her, in case she’s not bitter enough for herself.

  3. gabs says:

This is gonna sound horrible but I knew something bad was gonna happen to them because Tori is messing with some bad mojo and karma since the husband stealing thing and then saying farah fawcett was talking to her from the grave. freaky

  4. Dorothy says:

    YAY! MSat is back!

I hope he gets better. I knew a guy that I used to work with who the DAY he got his motorcycle was speeding got into an accident and snapped his spinal cord and will never be able to walk again.

    god bless the spelling-mcdermott

They are an odd looking couple

on the season i watched way back when…this little hobby was certainly a point of contention between them. almost a deal breaker.

  8. Danielle says:

Seriously, he needs to grow up.

I watched a handful of eps right around the time he started with this dirt bike thing. Hey, I was bored. She was freaking out already and he was acting like a total douche about it from the start, dumping all kinds of money they didn’t have into it and suddenly spending all of his time on it, neglecting the family and everything (at least that’s what the show showed).

You could just smell what was coming. This totally reeks of both an early mid-life crisis and that marital itch that comes at that make or break point a lot of couples get in their marriage.

I actually feel badly for Tori. As much as she gets dumped on for being freaky, she doesn’t deserve this. She seems to be a nice person, even if she’s a little clingy and has a lot of issues. She certainly adores her kids.

The only reason people are being so harsh is because they don’t see a man, they see a cheating, family-abandoning, unemployed actor.

Remember, this is a man, with a loving wife and kids who, no matter how he did it, hurt himself pretty badly. He also has (regardless of who she is) a wife that is probably freaking out at his side worrying for his recovery.

Let the man be on his feet, healthily embarrassing himself with his nogoodnik antics, before you throw knives. It is bad taste to wish ill and celebrate misfortune on such a simpleton!

He has severe douche-face, and needs to grow up, stat.

  12. Wisteria says:

My husband gave up the motorcycles as soon as our first son was born. There comes a time when you have to think of your family responsibilities you took on and sort out and leave behind those self-destructive urges.

  13. anny says:

this is his celebrity husband form of “crystals”… sounds like acting out.

  14. Maddie says:

    >> @ Idlehandsthe

Yes well his actions still speak of the selfish cheater he was who put his own needs above his kid(s) yet again.

Maybe if he put them first he wouldn’t be laying in a hospital bed with a wife, freaking out of her head and kids scared that “daddy” might die!

When you have small kids, it’s time to put away dangerous sports that might just take you out of the picture, that’s what real men do.

  15. EMV says:

    idiot

  16. original kate says:

yup, smells like a middle life crisis, alright. tori better watch out – next he’ll be banging the babysitter.

  17. Bodhi says:

My husband wants a motorcycle (a real one, not a suped up dirt bike!), but I told him before we got married no way until he gets life insurance, etc. I have no problem with bikes in general, just be safe about it!

He really should have wised up after his 1st crash. Moron.

  18. Eileen Yover says:

I wanted to get a motorcycle for myself-but I live in Atlanta and that would just be total suicide. I have been all over the US and ATL drivers are by FAR the worst drivers I have ever seen. I have two kids and a husband to care for!

  19. Really says:

Eileen- Atlanta does have the worst drivers! The traffic and drivers are certainly worse than Chicago, also pretty horrific.

  20. Tia C says:

Aren’t dirt bikes for boys, not men? Just sayin… and echoing what others have already said, LOL. Hope he gets better soon and develops safer hobbies.

Eileen, I lived in ATL for 2 years, and you might actually be safer on a motorcycle in ATL – at least you could dart in and out of the traffic and get out of the traffic jams easily! 😉 The drivers in Savannah are way worse than ATL, btw. But here the problem isn’t speeding and recklessness, like it is there, here the problem is they drive too SLOW and don’t know basic rules of traffic. Safer, but no less frustrating!

  21. julie says:

Hes like a giant BOY who turns his wife into his mother and then cheats with someone else who doesnt nag him to grow up. Not sure how long it will be, but HE WILL cheat on tori w/someone and probably leave her, and keep doing it since he will never grow up.

  22. GatsbyGal says:

Anything to spend a few nights not lying next to Tori Spelling, even if they’re spent in the hospital.

    Exactly MSat! And welcome back!

  24. WTF?!? says:

I thought Tori was his midlife crisis.

  25. gee_gee says:

    Attempted suicide.

    What? Too mean?

  26. Ruffian9 says:

You can just divorce her, you know.

  27. Mrs Odie 2 says:

He is lying in a hospital bed. Nobody lays in a hospital bed.

Yay! Drama! Exactly what she feeds off of. Anyone wanna bet he asked her for a bj in the ICU?

    I’m glad fatty didn’t die.

  28. Mrs Odie 2 says:

It would be awesome if she got pregnant again and he cheated on her and left her while she was pregnant. She would be able to write a best selling book (another) and the ratings for her show would go through the roof. It sounds mean, but isn’t making money what they’re all about?

  29. XYZ says:

Was he thinking of Tori’s face when he had the accident?

  30. Ashley says:

it’d be different if he was actually good at it, but obviously he kinda sucks at it because he keeps getting hurt.
Hang up your helmet Dean, you suck at bikes.

  31. Carol says:

Some of you people are the most mean-spirited people I have ever seen and I hope NEVER to meet! Get a damn life instead of speculating on another Hollywood couple’s life; perhaps your marriages need some work!
