I’ve known for some time that Kate Bosworth was all about her relationship with Alexander Skarsgard. Meaning it’s not just about love or sex – it’s about her career, it’s about her relevancy, it’s about her being in the news again. She can smirk her way through all of the interviews she wants, complaining that celebrity couplings are a “minefield” all the while confirming that they are, in fact, a couple. Alex won’t let her walk on the red carpet with him, but Kate still manages to tip off the paparazzi and let them know when they can get some cute “candid” shots of the two of them. This is how she plays the game.
Anyway, this is just a little blurb from The National Enquirer that confirms my point about Kate – she’s all about Alex, and she wants everyone to know:
Kate Bosworth enjoyed a girls’ night out at Chateau Marmont on June 25, but all she could talk about was her gorgeous boyfriend, True Blood star Alexander Skarsgard!
Her three pals humored her, but judging by the bored looks on their faces, Kate’s bragging got old quickly.

Sure, if we were the ones being boned by Alex Skarsgard, we would be bragging about that sh-t too. I wouldn’t shut up about it, I know. I would drop it into every conversation, every single post I wrote: “Oh, did I tell you about Alexander’s dick yet? I get to see it every day, did I mention that?” But since it’s Kate and there’s probably another motive, I’m going to say that she’s totally insecure. She knows that Alex is only going to stay with her game-playing famewhore ass for so long, and then he’s going to come to his senses. I wonder what her next move is? Pregnancy? Probably.

I don’t really get why they’re together if it’s some sort of career move; he’s hot right now, she’s not and hasn’t been for a long time. If it was some kind of arrangement, I can’t see where it would have gotten him anything.
There must be some other reason why he’s sticking around. Maybe they have genuine affection for each other? It does happen.
He’s not a pretty boy, definitely has a hot body, cute dimple in the chin, although jawline is lacking from some angles … but he’s also definitely got something magnetically appealing about him, something not of the physical world, a stillness, a commanding presence. He plays his role on True Blood to perfection. Kate is cute, but he can do better … I can picture him with a beautiful woman who is a mystery to us all.

I didn’t get Alexander Skarsgard’s appeal either. I thought meh, nothing special there based on pics. Then I watched the season premier of True Blood a few weeks ago. oh baby!!! DROOL!!!!
Alex is hot on True Blood but he was to die for in Generation Kill. There’s no contest between Alex as Sgt. Brad Colbert and Alex as Eric Northman. Brad wins every time. Well, except for that first scene from season 3. Colbert never did THAT.

It took me about halfway through season 2 of True Blood to understand his appeal. I especially was not into him in season 1 with that long hair. But anyway, I saw the light, and he’s totally sexy on True Blood (as are ALL the men on TB, I think), and I really like the way he comes across in interviews. I think Kate is quite pretty, but too skinny. If that’s his type, I’m out of luck. ha!
If he was my boyfriend, I probably couldn’t keep my mouth shut about it, either…Or the smug smirk off my face. He seems laid back, cool, and he’s 6’4” of lean sinewy goodness.

Know what I can’t really recall? When this girl became so tiresome. I mean I loved her and her crazee colored eyes in Blue Crush, and admired that she stayed away from all the Lohan-Hilton-Richie-Barton insanity of the 04-06 years. Liked that she kept her self out of that disgusting tabloid world. Even with the Orlando bloom break up, I thought it was handled pretty quietly…

He’s pretty to look at, I can see why she’d want to gush about him. But I’ve never understood what Kate’s appeal is supposed to be. She doesn’t have much talent, and she’s painfully plain and awkward. Maybe Alex thinks that’s charming, but honestly, when is the last time that girl worked? Or ate a healthy meal?? What does she do except hang on him and talk about him all the time? Ugh.

@ Bethie, I was going to say the same thing, he was so fantastic in Generation Kill, that is when I got into him. It was just icing when he became Eric on True Blood. I really think that they are starting to make True Blood Eric more like book Eric which is great.

Proceeding for the assumption that is a famewhore, what does he have to gain by dating Bosworth. She hasn’t been relavent for the greater part of the decade. If it were just about exposure and career buiding he would have been better off dating someone else. I honestly thinks he likes the girl, though I hate to acknowledge it.

I think she became annoying when she never delivered after Blue Crush. Subsequently, she became famous for her perpetually fluctuating weight and walking red carpets. Everything she seems to have been in the past 5 years has been insipid or just patently terrible. There comes a time when the public does recognize that you are just wasting space, no matter how pretty you are.

Here’s what I don’t get. Every time they’re out together, he’s walking steps ahead of her. EVERY TIME. Like, “Oh God, is she following me?”
Have you seen the pap footage from the True Blood wrap party? He’s standing there talking to someone, not paying attention to her. Suddenly she starts stroking his hair, and then she makes this really hard stroke that knocks his head forward. Someone says his name and he turns his back on her and starts taking to that person and keeps his back to her talking to the next person and the next person.
He doesn’t act like someone madly in love or someone who is happy being out together. Even in that picture from Coachella. She’s plastered herself against him and holding herself there by having her hands in his pockets.
I wonder if in the heat of the moment he started dating her and now he’s too nice to break it off? We all know how fragile she is. Maybe he’s afraid of what she’ll do. Or maybe that’s just how he acts.
If I were his girlfriend and he made me run behind him to keep up with him when we walked out together, I would get the message and we wouldn’t be together long.
Amelia, do you have a link to those photos? I personally wouldn’t want to date him if he treated me like that. It’s pretty lame too, since everyone knows they’re together. He treated her the same way in Sweden apparently. Very odd.
As a Swede, and not the vegetable… I’ve known of Alexander for quite some time as we are of a similar age, his father is one of the rare swedish actors somewhat making it in Hollywood, (Stellan is actually quite a brilliant actor and has starred in some good indie-movies in sweden from a very young age, (he was identical to Alex when young).
Alexander, from what I can remember, first appeared in a really lame teen-movie around the time I was a tween..and always struck me as someone wanting to make it big and not really doing it for the arts, per se…as if starring in True Blood didn’t already spell that out enough.
His brother on the other hand, actually brothers (I think) are another story, quite convincing actors and Gustaf used to be quite hot before his hairline started receding. He has some depth to him too..Alex though, ehm not so much and very boring swedish looking…about as exciting as the vegetable actually. (See what I did there rounding things up nicely..) Ahyhoo, his gf is very pretty but also not very exciting, they suit each other perfectly I think.
He’s a real man and actor and shes a talentless average looking Jane Doe. Not gonna last anyway.
