When I read the headline that yet another one of Kate Hudson’s boyfriends was meeting her mom early in the game I rolled my eyes. Kate had Lance Armstrong meet her mom Goldie at paparazzi hotspot The Ivy right before they inevitably imploded, and her parents were often seen in the stands cheering on her last boyfriend, Yankees player Alex Rodriguez. Kate doesn’t speak publicly about her relationships, I’ll give her that, but she doesn’t try to hide them either. (Some might say she flaunts them.) She also doesn’t take her time deciding whether she wants to get serious.
Only this time it’s the guy who is (allegedly) talking about how serious he’s getting with Kate. Muse frontman Matt Bellamy reportedly started dating Hudson after they met up at the Coachella music festival in mid April. The two are said to have already known each other, having first met when she was married to another musician, Chris Robinson. Now Bellamy is set to meet Hudson’s famous mom. He (allegedly) told The Mirror all about it, and added that he’s not ready for a wedding yet but we’ll see. I’m adding so many qualifiers to these quotes because the source is The Mirror and they don’t include the questions they asked Matt. The part about a wedding sounds like a definite response to a question. They’re also a very sketchy paper and could very well be making these quotes up or significantly embellishing them.
And over a glass of white wine at the Nordoff Robbins 02 Silver Clef Awards, Matt told us this wasn’t going to be just another showbiz fling. Talking for the first time about his new love, Matt grinned: “Things are going great at the moment.
“I am very happy.
“We had such a good time at Glastonbury. We just have fun together and are seeing how it goes. Kate is great. We have tried to keep things private so we haven’t told anyone how we met or any details like that. We are just doing our thing.”
Unlucky-in-love Kate has had a string of failed relationships with rockers.
But Matt, who bought the starlet a £7,000 diamond encrusted Theo Fennell ring during the fundraising auction, is clearly smitten with the Hollywood actress.
And he is gearing up for the dreaded meeting with his potential mother-in-law, Goldie Hawn – a rendezvous enough to terrify any rocker.
Matt, whose band won the main 02 Silver Clef Award at London’s Hilton Hotel, told us: “I haven’t met Goldie yet.
“We are meeting up next week. I’m quite nervous. You don’t want her reading daft stories about you online – it’s embarrassing when you meet someone’s family for the first time.
“It’s a little bit too soon to talk about weddings and stuff. Ask me again in a few months though. I’ll let you know how it went with Goldie – and then who knows?”

That’s really sweet! I’m happy for her and hope this one works out. Maybe she picked a keeper this time. You have to wonder if she’ll be flattered or annoyed that he’s put this out there. I’m thinking she’ll be pleased, but will tell him to keep his trap shut in the future. Maybe he thought he was speaking off the record or the Mirror people are putting words in his mouth.

This is a woman who is in love with being in love but she enjoys the dating and partying too much. She married to young and now she is catching up for the lost time. I don’t think it will last, she flirts too much, I hope I’m wrong.

Why do they refer to her as “unlucky-in-love” when she seems to date anyone she wants to? And as to this relationship ‘working out’ – why this assumption that things have only ‘worked out’ if the couple gets married? She’s been married, maybe she’s not looking for that anymore. The number of stereotypes that pop up in stories about Kate Hudson is sickening.
Totally agree with Gwen and jzhz above. It’s like, have people never heard of dating??? I applaud Kate–she’s smartly shopping around for her right match, and the state of marriage in this world would be much better if more people followed suit and did the same.
Also, Matt did not buy her a diamond ring as Celebitchy implies. First, we don’t even know if he bought the ring for her–that’s total assumption on someone’s part. Second, it was a SKULL ring encrusted with small diamonds–hardly romantic!
I don’t get what men see in this dumbo-eared neckless fakebboobed ditz? if she would not be Goldies’s daughter, agents and casting directors would have paperballed her headshot and slamdunked it in the garbage.
Even though I’m not really a fan of Kate’s, I agree with Gwen. This woman can snag any man she pleases, so where’s the unlucky chapter of this story?

I think some see her as “unlucky in love” because she seems like SHE WANTS to settle down, but can’t find the guy to do so with, and that bugs her which is why she is seen often with men. Plus her son Ryder has had at least 10 uncles in the past few years.
If she was a person that was all about flings and having a good time, then people WOULD see her diffrent. But from Owen Wilson to Lance Armstrong to A Rod plus (Several others) she seems to want marriage with all them, and talks about them seriously in interviews, until she gets the bum rush. I think Diaz is diffrent because she has LONG TERM relationships with men, and don’t have a child so I see her more as “Not having met her Mr Right” Hudson seems to think ALL men are her “Mr Right” and thats why she has this label.

I’ve never seen her (Kate)do anything but avoid answering questions about her personal life to the point where she is squirming because she is so uncomfortable.
Lucy: completely agree. I really loved this band and the singer/songwriter and am so disappointed he’s dating Kate. I thought much more highly of him than that.

Why do people keep on saying they lost all respect for Matt Bellamy when they read he dates Kate Hudson? Have you all met her? I’m assuming none of you have… She may be the most exciting, fun, nice girl. If you’ve never met her then don’t have a negative opinion of her, all you can know about her is what you’ve read in the papers or online, which is hardly ever likely to be true, or you’re likening her to the characters she plays, it’s called ACTING! Does anybody else on these websites get annoyed by the constant negative comments about all the celebrities, mainly about female celebrities? It’s mainly females who use these sites so the majority of the time they are probably jealous of the celebs. Stop being so childishly horrible. If the comments made on this site were spoken from one school child to another, it would be considered bullying and the offender would perhaps be expelled from school. Why is this any different? People often think they have the right to express their opinion, which they do, but not if it’s a negative one based only on what is written in ridiculous magazine articles. Sorry to go on but these comments are just as much cyber bullying as writing an offensive comment on a friends facebook wall, it’s just wrong.

Um, Nikki, as a matter of fact, I have met Kate, and Matt as well. She’s a shrew, met her when she was with Chris and he had to apologize to a bunch of us who were friends of his manager’s for her behavior. Matt used to be such a sweetheart but his behavior seems to have gone haywire since Miss Toxic entered the picture. But it’s all a ploy to try to get his ex-fiance back, anyhow.

I agree she married to early, but Chris Robinson was definately in love with her and when you realize you’ve messed up your life and keep trying to chase it and create that kind of relationship again it just doesn’t happen. The dumbest thing she ever did was cheat on and dump Chris Robinson.
