Jennifer Aniston’s psychotic stalker arrested while out trying to kidnap her

A mentally ill man was arrested last week on Sunset Boulevard while trolling around trying to find Jennifer Aniston. Diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic Jason R. Peyton, 24, drove from Pennsylvania to California with the intent of kidnapping and marrying Aniston, according to his mother and his own statements, as outlined in a restraining order filed with the court. Aniston has never met or had any contact with Peyton, who was carrying duct tape, a “sharp object” a bag and messages for her when he was apprehended. He spent a full eight days looking for her after being able to find her home. To make matters worse, Peyton has a history of violent behavior and stalking. In 2008, he was arrested for attempting to abduct a female neighbor with whom he was obsessed. He also physically attacked his mother at least four times. He’s currently being detained on a psychiatric hold and awaiting a court hearing on August 9.

Jennifer Aniston has been granted a restraining order against a stalker suspect who’d driven cross-country to be with her in a car that had messages including “I love Jennifer Aniston” and “I love you Jennifer Aniston” carved into its hood and driver’s side door.

Unable to locate the actress’ home address, Jason R. Peyton was arrested July 15 on Sunset Boulevard hanging out and looking for her near businesses he believes she frequents. He was placed on a psychiatric hold, according to documents obtained by TMZ.

The restraining order, granted Tuesday, was based on evidence of stalking and a credible threat of violence. Court papers filed describe Peyton as “a diagnosed delusional and paranoid schizophrenic, with a history of violence and criminal harassment and stalking, including an apparent planned abduction of a former stalking victim.”

He was, the documents said, found “laying-in-wait” for Aniston in possession of …

… a sharp object, a roll of duct tape and written messages to the actress — including baby names for the child he hoped they’d have together. He allegedly believes he’s been secretly mentally communicating with her for two years.
Peyton’s parents reported him missing after he took off from his Pennsylvania around June 25, leaving a note that said he was going to California; he called his mother while he was on the road, and she contacted L.A. police after he told her he was “on a mission to go to Jennifer Aniston” and that she would “hear about it on the news.” According to court papers, he has attempted suicide at least four times; has a history of assaulting women, including his own mother, when he doesn’t get what he wants; and has been institutionalized repeatedly.

It’s not the first time Aniston has found herself in scary stalker circumstances — a homeless man jumped her fence and entered her home in August 2005, fortunately while she was away on location.

[From The LA Times]

TMZ has a picture of this guy’s car, and he has “I Love Jennifer Aniston” etched into the side and “I Love You Jennifer Aniston” on the hood, which at least made him easy to find. He told officers that “Jennifer communicated to me mentally that she wants me to come and marry her, and wants me to be the father of her children. We love each other… I’m not going to stop until we meet.

In the petition requesting a three year restraining order, [available on TMZ] which was filed by a lawyer for Jennifer Aniston and signed by her, it states that “Peyton’s fixation, obsessive conduct, and stalking has caused Petitioner [Aniston] to become seriously alarmed, annoyed and harassed, and has caused her, as would any reasonable person, to suffer distress… Petitioner has become seriously alarmed and has real and reasonable fears for her safety, and that of her friends, representatives, and those around her.”

The petition even includes a personal statement from Aniston, which states, in part, “Mr. Peyton’s on-going, ever-increasing, aggressive and harassing conduct are extremely distressing. I fear for my personal safety, and that of those around me.”

That’s so scary and I hope that Aniston can find some consolation that the guy is in custody. From what I know she has no personal security team (although it’s hard to tell – we rarely see clear paparazzi photos of her lately) and maybe she’ll hire protection for her own peace of mind.

NOTE BY KAISER: These photos were just released of Jennifer at her perfume launch in London, at Harrod’s. I like the soft pink mini-dress, it’s very pretty. The bodice bows are a little cutesy, but whatever. Also: Aniston’s perfume is no longer called Lolavie – no more “laughing at life” – because it’s too close to Marc Jacob’s LOLA or something. So now it’s just called “Jennifer Aniston”. Eh.

  2. bite me says:

great body, toned but still slim… i wear daisy by marc jacobs and i love it :D…i don’t buy celeb fragrances but hope this sell well for aniston.

  3. Praise St. Angie! says:

pretty dress, but I also think it might look better without the bows.

I’m curious to get a sniff of this scent…I have yet to find even ONE celebrity perfume that I like.

  4. Maritza says:

There seems to be a lot of stalkers lately. I love that dress, she looks really good and the name change was a good move.

  5. Rachel says:

Scary! I don’t know why anyone would want to be famous, the money isn’t worth the stress of being stalked by both crazies and paparazzi.

I bet the Brangeloonies will say the stalker is all a conspiracy to take attention from Angies new movie.

  6. LOVE ANGELINA says:

Well thank goodness she is safe and the guy is being held. She will have to file a restraining order against this person.

The dress is cute and I know a beauty English vlogger who is on her way to purchase it and I eagerly await her review of Jen’s first name choice for the fragrance (no I don’t know if that was her actual first name choice but gimme a break, it sure as Sh*t wasn’t lolocal or whatever it was) Jennifer Aniston. Ugh….

  7. EllenP says:

I’m glad he’s been arrested. That was last week. I’m cynical, but the timing of this announcement is…clever?

  8. Crash2GO2 says:

Yikes, how scary. I wonder what they are going to do with this guy. I mean, he has assaulted his own mother FOUR times and he is still out on the streets? I realize it is tax dollars that keep these poor insane people locked away and treated where they can’t harm us or themselves, and those dollars are short. But good heavens. Leave the harmless ones to roam and keep this guy locked up.

  9. pookie says:

How is someone THAT mentally disturbed and clearly an ongoing danger to himself and others being released all the time? Do they have to wait until he actually kills someone to keep him in an institution?

  10. nnn says:

The guy probably heard her public appeal for someone to find her a nice guy and in his stalkerish fanatic emotionally deranged mind thought she was talking to him and about him personally, that he was the chosen one to who she gave positive signs that she was ready for him too.

That’s how sick some stans behave at times.

I just read a paper out a few days ago in which a female reporter was saying that some of jennifer Aniston fans are the vilest and scariest of the bunch. That she gets the nastiest creepiest letters from them every time se says the slightest negative thing about Jennifer that don’t please them. That they act way out of proportion compared to other fanbases in the same situation and that she was legitimately asking herself if they can do that to her, how will they react when Jen, the one they love will disappoint them.

And then a few days later we have that stalker. It gives me chill on my spine when thinking about what that reporter said : how will he have reacted if he had found her and that she disappointed him ?

i remembered how John Lennon was shot down by one of his most faithful fan because…he disappointed him.

    Scary.

Hope she takes extra protection and put her people in high alert monitoring some of the way over board obsession and protection displayed on scary sites of the die hard core fans.

  11. Snarf says:

Why is this guy out walking the streets in the first place? Besides attacking his mother and neighbors, he’s also apparently prone to self mutilation and attempted to kill himself a number of times.

  12. lucy2 says:

That’s really scary, glad they caught him before he hurt anyone.
How does someone with a history of attacking women and an attempted kidnapping 2 years ago still roam free?!?! Should be locked up – clearly needs psychiatric help, but priority #1 is public safety.

  13. Cruisin Through says:

Wow, scary stuff! Hope she hires extra security if he ever gets out. I don’t think people like that ever get “cured”.

  14. Raven says:

These people are institutionalized periodically and, on medication, improve considerably. The problem is that once they are released because their symptoms have significantly improved, they stop taking the meds. Even with the injectables which last much longer and help with compliance, they can’t be forced to stay on it forever.

  15. melina says:

Just a fashion comment: She always wear lovely, simple shoes. I’m glad she’s not embracing the latest fashion trend of ugly, over the top shoes! And don’t get me started with those stupid peep-toe booties!

  16. Jen Wind says:

I love that dress, the cut and color look fantastic on her! I think the bows are cute, and soften it a bit. I also love how well her shoes go with it.

I hope they keep this guy locked up for awhile, scary stuff to have to deal with.

  17. mln says:

she needs to get some bodyguards ASAP I am glad that psycho is behind bars.

  18. hanh says:

Love her dress! Even with the bows. She looks great in that outfit. I wish she would be more adventurous though in her clothing choices. She always wears beige or black. I’d like to see her in blues and reds and vibrant colors. And I’d like to see her do something else with her hair.

The stalker is crazy! What’s sad is that you don’t have to be famous to have a stalker – you just get more protection if you’re famous. There are so many scary men/women out there who it doesn’t take much to become your stalker. We need better laws to protect everyone from people like that.

  19. Gwen says:

She looks great, as always, and it’s a pretty dress, but I have to wonder if her entire closet is filled with beige and black.

Melina, I totally agree! They are making some amazingly ugly shoes these days, and those sandal-boots are the worst. It’s nice to see Jen has the sense to avoid those ugly clunkers. The woman has great (if predictable) taste.

  20. Anon says:

She looks gorgeous and the dress/shoes are very nice – sleek, simple and work great on her figure. She always knows how to dress the best for her style/shape.

As for the stalker – it sounds very serious. The court documents on TMZ are quite scary. I do believe Jennifer has a round the clock security team anyways, but I would hope she has beefed that up in light of this guy’s arrest last week. And for those questioning the timing of this stalker – you have officially crossed to a level of insanity yourselves. This guy was arrested on Thursday and the court documents filed on Friday of last week – all information that is publicly available. Because he wasn’t famous when arrested, the media didn’t become aware of him until after the restraining order was issued yesterday, and TMZ made the news public. As if anyone would use such a terrifying situation for PR.

  21. Juiceinla says:

These details are so frightening. Thank goodness the Mother and the local authorities take stalking so seriously. I am grateful everyday for this state’s stalking laws.

    Poor Jen.

  22. Cheyenne says:

Good thing the authorities are taking it seriously because some of these stalkers are violent psychopaths and sometimes they turn murderous.

  23. Cheyenne says:

@Gwen: Some of those clunkers are so outlandish it’s almost impossible to recognize them as shoes. And outside of the red carpet and the runway, I’ve never seen anybody actually wearing them.

  24. Lisa S. says:

That is so scary. I am glad they caught the loon. I hope they keep him locked up one way or another for as long as possible.

  25. GatsbyGal says:

That guy needs to be strapped into a straightjacket for the rest of his life. I hope they throw the book at him.

  26. bellaluna says:

To quote my mother (who works in family law) “Restraining orders aren’t worth the paper they’re written on.” Speaking from personal experience: if someone wants to get to you, he will figure out a way.

I hope this guy stays behind bars (in an institution or jail, I don’t care) for JA’s safety and his own.

  27. anon says:

@bellaluna: sad but true. It seems like everyone I ever heard that got one of those(restraining order/ order of protection)was beaten up after they got it. Your mom is right.

  28. jayjay says:

Nice to see that people are concerned and that there was only one loon post so far. Jennifer always looks great.

  29. CR says:

Wow. Good thing there was this stalker guy to talk about in this thread, otherwise, what would her fans REALLY have to say?

  30. Camille says:

I don’t like her dress (it looks like someone tied a bandage around her) or her shoes at all (wow her feet are so veiny), but her make up looks nice. I also like the off center hair part, much more flattering on her.
There, I said something nice. đŸ˜†

  31. Mistral says:

There are so many sick people out there. It’s pretty scary. They ruin regular people’s lives too, it isn’t just celebs that these poor crazies get fixated on. Too bad it isn’t easier to force people into hospitals/therapy/medicine/whatever…
