Britney Spears hadn’t made a public outing since last week’s mid-jaunt costume change, when she slipped out of a comfortable-looking pair of jeans in the middle of a shopping trip, and wore a nightie for the rest of the public outing. Well, yesterday Britney pulled the same kind of thing – a costume change mid-stream. Is she trying to tell us something? That she’s not ready for her conservatorship to end? Or is she feeling the first twinges of independence, and this is a preview of things to come? Anyway, this costume change seems to be a change from a shorts-and-tank combo to a flowy dress that managed to cover her cooter, shockingly. Well done Brit? Eh. She still looks like hell.
A distraught looking Britney Spears attempted to hide her face from the shutterbugs on October 11, 2010 while out on a shopping spree in the Beverly Hills area of California with her trusted bodyguards by her side. As no surprise Brit was out shopping for todays outfit and accessories which she found at Envie. Spears didn’t seem to be in a good mood as she ventured over to the local Starbucks for a drink with smeared make up, could she have been in tears for some reason or just another day in the life of Britney? The pop princess then made her way over to De Beers jewelry store where she showed off her extensions after pulling her hair up into a ponytail while inside but let it down as she made her exit. The pop princess has been hard at work on a new album and its rumored to be the next big thing.

Ah, yes. She flashed her extensions too. Prepare yourself. It was not pretty. It never is.
At least it looks somewhat clean? For f-cks sake, Brit. JUST SHAVE IT OFF. Again. It’s like someone told her busted weave = sanity. Either that, or she just thinks her tragic hair gets her attention.
Also, why is she all marked up? Ugh. I hate to say this, but Brit is not ready to be unprotected again.

The lip tattoo was the one she got like 2 days before she went batshit crazy and shaved her head. It might have even been the same day, I don’t remember.

Maybe she had to go to a budget hairdresser to get the weave because no self-respecting hairdresser would allow her to continue to terrorize her hair like this? That’s all I’ve got as far as theories go. I think she would look so much better with just short hair (minus the weave monster) at this point. Maybe dye it light brown and just let it start to grow out naturally.
She is working on a new CD, so I will give her the benefit of the doubt. But I sure wish she would ditch the weave and rock a cute hair cut!

Goodlord, it looks like she doesn’t go to a salon, but that she does the extensions herself! Like she just goes into Sally Beauty Supply, or wherever, grabs some blonde-ish extensions off the shelf, takes them home and glues them onto her own head! “Look, y’all, don’t I look purdy?!”

Okay this sounds so catty but here I go.

You know I think this weave is slightly new. Her hair/weave was ultra busted and disgusting looking but then she went to film her guest appearance on Glee back in August and that’s when I think she got this new weave.
Remember the other ones? You could literally see each and every strand of the tracks. This looks like several pieces that are either sewn in or bonded with glue. It doesn’t look as bad as before but she also could brush her hair some.
I don’t know what the red mark is on her shoulder (probably nothing) but the red lips on her wrist is a tattoo. By the way, there are other pics of her from yesterday and she looks good. I don’t think she looks “distraught”.
I get the feeling that she’s having a rough day and decided to go buy herself an outfit to make herself feel better. It feels like emotional shopping, since she can’t really eat if she’s preserving her figure.

I cannot imagine what it must be like to be in her position. She’s clearly emotionally unstable, medicated (do we know for sure?), legally declared unable to take care of her own affairs. The whole world has watched her get dragged back into the limelight after a very public breakdown. And how do people react? They follow her around constantly just to take pictures and bitch at her.
Instead of backing off and giving a deeply troubled young woman some space, instead of saying, “You know what, maybe harassing the mentally ill isn’t such a cool thing to do”, they slag her off at every opportunity. Whoever is her hair stylist should be dragged out to the street and shot.
I agree with whoever was saying we need to back off. It’s pretty obvious that something just isn’t right, and I don’t think harassing her, mocking her, belittling her and making fun of her is helping. Would you go up to a homeless person and go “hey buddy, a shower would be nice. And comb that fucking neck beard!”
This is just like that South Park episode (stop rolling your eyes because it’s absolutely true). Even if she had blown half her head off and was in some tragic, mutilating accident, people would still follow her, take pictures of her, and laugh at her. Now I just feel bad.
Don’t blame her stylist – I’m betting she has trichotillomania – that’s an OCD in which the sufferer pulls out their own hair. I think that’s why she shaved her head as a desperate attempt to stop this compulsion. Imagine being the stylist attempting to cope with that!! There are bald spots and multiple areas of hair of varying lengths; add to that the ongoing new bald
spots the person creates every day or week.
I can’t believe anyone would think this comservatorship should end. She will need lifelong care and protection; that should be resolved and settled. She should welcome it as without it, I fear for her and her sons.

@Lenore-I hear where you’re coming from, I really do, but honestly, she doesn’t HAVE to keep making records or starring on TV shows, playing concerts or attending award ceremonies. If she is so mentally unstable then maybe she should just fade into obscurity entirely, you know, for the sake of her MENTAL well-being? The truth is that she needs the paps to keep her in the spotlight and she needs the spotlight to sell records. I think people in her position/mental state have complex feelings about the media, both needing/hating the attention. Anyway, I don’t see her as the “victim” that you might. More the victims to me are her children-god knows what they deal with on a daily basis.

Agree w/ lolaluv. There’s no new news here. Britney’s weave has been like that forever. Stories like this are just excuses to point out how unstable she still seems and how bad she supposedly looks (no, she’s definitely not as cleaned up and polished as she could be given her resources, but she doesn’t look drastically different than most normal people imo). How many times can “Britney still looks crazy” or “Brit’s weave looks like sh*t” be said?

@Shelley – I actually suffer from trichotillomania (although I proudly haven’t pulled for 6 months) and I don’t think that’s Britney’s problem. Trich is hard to disguise, yes, and if the sufferer is actively pulling it can make it that much more difficult. But my weaves and extensions NEVER looked like that, no matter how bad my bald spots were. I always looked like I sported a full head of hair, even in the darkest days of my disorder. If she does have the disorder (which she may, she has admitted to compulsive nail biting, which is under the same umbrella), then she needs a stylist better equipped to deal with it. Regular hollywood hairdressers know how to extend healthy, full heads of hair. It takes a hair replacement specialist to create extensions that both hinder pulling and allow the hair to grow. In my opinion, she’s not seeing a stylist regularly, and not taking care of her current extensions. Not taking care of extensions, be they tracks or strand by strand, can lead to hair shedding, breaking and in some cases balding. If she’s not combing, washing, and caring for her weave regularly, that would definitely be a reason for any breakage and balding.
if thats her way of rebelling against her fathers conservatorship than that is childish and shows she is not ready to have her life back.

I used to find her so incredibly annoying, but nowadays I find myself feeling quite sorry for her.

Her weave makes me want to shave MY head, because whenever I see it I start feeling mites or something crawling all over me.
I would volunteer as her friend and move her to a nice place in New England where she can go outside in the fresh air, get her body into shape by walking, a little yoga and an everyday hair cut. A normal life like most of us lead. I feel bad for her at this point.
To those who do not understand: Her weave is not “not maintained.” It isn’t supposed to be worn up because then the tracks will be visible. If she wants an updo, she’ll have to get a different kind of weave (ponytail extension) or rock a wig. But this weave is for strictly wearing down or hanging down to hide (so to speak) the tracks. The tracks are GOING to be there it’s unpreventable. So she could rock a good wig and that way she could put it up and no tracks. But, I think they may be hotter. I used to wear a couple of pieces weave in my real hair to make it thicker and it was hot, hot. But I think wigs are hotter just from trying them on. She’s probably rocking the weave because it’s gives her the look she had when she first came out. A new look may not go over well with many of her fans and she wouldn’t look like “herself” and that is what most people want is “Britney” back. But, she probably momentarily forgot about the tracks and put her hair up. It’s easy to do when you have a lot on your mind.
