These are some new photos of Blake Lively and Penn Badgley filming Gossip Girl in New York on Wednesday. Fame Pictures notes that for a couple that has been together for two years, they seemed especially awkward on set together, and thus, they could be broken up. Or maybe they just had a fight? Or maybe Blake was feeling not-so-fresh? Or maybe Penn was feeling not-so-fresh? It could be anything.
Though Gossip Girl costars Penn Badgley and Blake Lively have been dating for over two years, pictures taken Wednesday, October 20, 2010, suggest there may be some turmoil between the once-happy couple. When Badgley and Lively passed each other on set, the normally affectionate pair exchanged a strange side-hug and air kiss more indicative of casual acquaintances than lovers. Are the two actors the latest couple to suffer a celebrity breakup?

Could be. It wouldn’t surprise me. I’ve long thought that Blake would end up dumping Penn once she found a good stepping stone boyfriend (or “jumpoff” if you will)… someone like Ryan Gosling, perhaps? I also still think that Blake had something going on with Ben Affleck, and that was when she was “with” Penn too. Penn is either very understanding, or he’s totally dumb and clueless, or maybe he just doesn’t give a crap. Penn and Blake haven’t been spotted together off the set anytime recently, although I did find these photos of a chaste looking kiss between the two of them back in September:

What leads you to the conclusion that he’s a jerk Jack. Not that I know, as I’ve never met the guy but Tim Gunn met him on set and said that Penn was one of the nicest, friendliest guys he’d ever met. So yeah, I’ll take Tim Gunn’s word – since he’s actually met him – over yours.
Anywho to echo Kitten, they’re still very much together based on some smooching, frolicking, beach pics of them I saw as recently as two weeks ago. And although she’s getting on my nerves I still don’t think she and Ben had anything but a harmless flirtation going on. Shit Ben flirts with everybody. Did ya see him with the Hamm?

I’ve always liked them as a couple…they never feel the need to flaunt or share their love and/or affection…in fact, I think that kiss on set is the cutest, and such a clue into their relationship of how comfortable and happy they are. Not every celebrity couple has to be all glitz and in-your-face about their relationship…
