Mel Gibson is going to bury Zach Galifianakis in the rose garden too

Thus far, Mel Gibson has not offered an expletive-laden statement about his firing from The Hangover 2, although a Gibson “insider” did offer an explanation for Mel’s thought process: “He doesn’t understand why Mike Tyson, a drug user who turned his life around, was given a chance while Mel was kicked to the curb. Everybody deserves a second chance.” Nevermind that Mel’s second chance was a way’s back, I guess. Anyway, I think it was The Superficial who made the joke that Zach Galifiankis is going to be getting a lot of angry, ranting, bigoted phone calls from Mel, considering Zach is the one person from The Hangover 2 who got a lot of the blame/credit for Mel’s ousting. Now The National Enquirer has a story about Mel ranting and venting about Zach… and I totally believe it:

Mel Gibson went on one of his trademark tirades after his cameo on The Hangover 2 was canceled, sources say – and the target of his fury was actor Zach Galifiankis. Zach stole the show in the original Hangover and was widely reported to be opposing Mel’s involvement in the sequel.

An insider revealed: “Mel is slamming Zach for starting the protest against him. Mel says he was making movies before Zach could walk, so he has a lot of nerve thinking he’s better than Mel. Mel was ranting and raving and saying they can all go to hell and that he doesn’t need to be in their crappy movie anyway!”

Gibson was set to play a weird tattoo artist, but was replaced by Liam Neeson after the cast and crew refused to work with him. After being dumped from the project, Mel accused the producers of “being more concerned with being politically correct than making a good movie,” said the insider.

[From The National Enquirer, print edition]

The one thing that makes me question whether Mel was really ranting and raving is the lack of profanity, the lack of racial slurs, the lack of any demands to be blown, and lack of any bold insinuations that Zach probably has a “glum c-nt”. Of course, all of that could have been edited out. Basically, if Zach turns up dead or simply “missing” I think we should head down to Malibu and check to see Mel is “planting a new rose garden”.

For those Gibson apologists who are all “Oh, he’s not that bad” here’s a NFSW recap of what Mel is like when his girlfriend falls asleep. Imagine what he’s like when he’s publicly fired:

He was probably going to get “blown in the jacuzzi” for payment versus money and that’s why he’s so pissed off.

  2. Chris says:

Blow me or I’ll huff and puff and blow the house down.

  3. The Truth Fairy says:

I think it’s just too soon for Mel’s second second-chance. I mean, he still has court proceedings and nothing has been resolved really. He needs to wait it out at least a year before he even thinks about stepping back into acting.

  4. Wench. says:

What film/promo thing are these Mel Gibson with hand up puppets from? I see them everywhere but I’m a bit slow on the uptake.

Also, to me, Zach G is ridiculously sexy. I love a slightly plump man with a beard (HEY PHILIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN!) and I’m even more in love with him after this.

    Swoon.

  5. PrettyTarheel says:

I think more like 5 years, or 10 years, and even then, people will hate on him. It’s just horrific what he did. He’s a throwback to a generation with no internet, youtube, etc, and doesn’t REALIZE the damage he’s done to his career-not to mention his family.

  6. K says:

Good on the producers! I don’t think Mel should get any roles in Hollywood for a very long time.

As for his “I have been making movies before you could walk!” comment: Yeah, that’s what you call a ‘has-been’.

  7. Eve says:

    @Truth Fairy:

Forever is too soon for Gibson’s second chance. I sincerely hope he’ll never get a decent role again. But he can always do porn, you know…something like “10 Best Cum Shots — Jacuzzi Edition!”.

  8. kelBear says:

All of Mel’s problems are happening right now as we speak so I don’t know why they even wanted to have him in the movie in the first place. If all the problems were settled and over with whats her face it would be different.

  9. Megan says:

who does he think he is… charlie sheen??

  10. icantbelievethis says:

I hope Zach has the recording Iphone app. Can’t wait to hear those recordings . . . ..

  11. sapphire says:

Sounds edited to me. I can’t believe Mel can rant without racist, sexist comments or profanity.

Tank the second chance-he obviously doesn’t deserve it.

  12. Delta Juliet says:

I think we also need to remember, he’s BEYOND his second chance. Isn’t this like, third or fourth chance? Remember the DUI arrest?!?! Remember all the garbage he was spewing when he made The Passion of the Christ? Ugh. I hate his face.

  13. CathyT says:

This story is BS. I don’t believe the National Enquirer has any source.

  14. bitca says:

Wench (<3 that btw :-), the puppet pub shots are from the Jodie Foster-directed flick—except it may go straight to DVD. Not even sure if they finished shooting. Seems to feature one of Mel’s daffy & somewhat mentally disturbed-but-endearing roles. Like “Conspiracy Theory,” i think.

  15. julie says:

i’m sorry but zach is okay with working with a convicted rapist, but not mel gibson? i applaud him for standing up to mel and wanting him out of the movie because he’s vile, but so is tyson. it seems hypocritical and you can all argue that everyone deserves a second chance or tyson paid for his crime, but i disagree. to me, zach just sounds like an idiot who happens to not like mel gibson, like the rest of us. or maybe today, it’s okay to be a rapist but not a racist. both mel and tyson suck.

  16. Jo 'Mama' Besser says:

Eyes on your own paper, Mel.

  17. danielle says:

I would not want to be anywhere near Tyson. But he did serve his time. Did he ever apologize? Mel has done neither.

  18. Zvonk says:

    Julie

I don’t think Zach had much of a public profile when he was cast in Hangover. At that time it was a job, and was unlikely to be listened to if he asked for Tyson’s removal. Now he has a higher profile and is in a much better position to make demands.

i can understand that, i guess i should have directed some of my remarks towards the producers or whomever it was that decided to finally pull mel. i guess, to me at least, it seems less taking a stand or whatever when you have someone like tyson who committed an unforgivable (in my opinion) crime against a woman, in your movie but you toss mel because he’s a vile racist and dispicable human being. i’m not defending mel by any means whatsoever, just wondering why one nasty person is okay but not two.

    danielle-
mel has yet to be charged with anything, tyson was charged, tried and convicted. did he serve his time? yes, three years, which is not enough in my opinion. i don’t know how you come back from rape or deserve a second chance after doing something as horrible as that.

  20. Jules says:

Waa Waa Mel. You reap what you sow, I thought a biblical scholar would know that.

  21. nnn says:

I think the mel applogist should stop using the ‘he is not convicted yet’ as an excuse. This is not about crimial offence being convicted, proven or not.

O Jay Simpson was not convicted too in the criminal trial. others like MJ for example were not convicted for their controversial acts or obvious allegations to criminal acts.

This is about a public outrage which is still fresh in the mind of people and too recent in time line, just like an analyst has been fired from Fox for saying something that was perceived as outrageous.

It happens every day in every industry. Why should Mel of all people get a pass ?

I mean it’s not like the outrage is just hearsay. We heard him saying nasty stuff to a woman repeatedly and using reference to death threats. We heard him using sexual connotations related insuts towards a 12 years old. If he had some ad deals, i m sure they will have end contracts too without waiting for the conviction or not.

This is indecent, this is immoral, this is mental violence at its best and this is very much a public outrage of epic proportions. It is too recent and too fresh in the mind of poeple to be excusable so soon.

Anyone who would have said half of this if aieed publicly would lose his/her job.

There he just isn’t hired for a specific role. Big deal. He has lots of money already and has it easy compared to anyone who would have been the one on this tape. This is just an ego punishment but this little boy he insulted probably has it worst than him.

  22. julie says:

    nnn

if you are referring to me, i am not a mel apologist. i have said numerous times in my comments that he is a vile disgusting human being. when i said he was not charged yet, i was referring to something danielle said about tyson serving his time. all i was saying was that mel had not served his time yet because he has not been charged. should he be? yes, i think so. and then i think he should go away for a very long time, hopefully to never ever come back. i’m not making excuses for him or saying i like him, go back and read my posts why don’t you. what i WAS saying, if you had bothered to read, was that both tyson and mel are terrible, awful, vile people (there’s too many descriptors that could be used to type out) and if you’re going to make a stink about one you should make a stink about the other. what i originally tried to say was that it seemed like the producers or whomever were trying to say they fired mel because they were on some moral higher ground and that to me sounded funny and hypocritical because tyson is in the first film. where was the moral higher ground then? i don’t know how you can think i’m some mel apologist when i’ve clearly stated a few times i despise him. i was angry and upset when there was a rumor going around he was going to be on my beloved mad men and was suprised to hear he would be in this film. next time, read the comments before making assumptions. and if you weren’t referring to my comments, then sorry for the rant. but i’m fairly certain you were.

  23. nnn says:

I am not referring to you personally. I am rreferring in general to people who use two excuses for Mel as their main defense :

    – Mike Tyson’s past;
    – He is not convicted yet, implying or straight up saying that he is innocent or that his victim deserve it, hence one way or another : Mel is innocent.

I believe the fact that he was fired has nothing to do with the conviction of the said crime. It has to do with what lies under ‘public outrage’ and those recorded insults are enough to get that definition, hence the outrage, hence the reason for the professional backlash now because they fear it will add to the outrage (hence financially unproductive) of part of the public who are still shocked by those outrageous outbursts.

Outrage melt away with time, redemption and/or punishment.

None of these has happened yet in the case of Mel, hence he will suffered the professional backlash.

He can be happy that he already had a long successful career, that he has money and no ungoing contracts in ad that has ended because of all the controversies.

He should stop whining and get into his redemption time instead of acting like he is Gog given eight wonder who doesn’t need to say i am sorry for all the hurtfull things i said and will seek help.

  24. Jeri says:

    I guess I missed Mel’s atonement.

  25. julie says:

well i wasn’t defending mel or trying to use tyson’s past to defend him. if i gave that impression, sorry. i guess i was just trying to figure out why there was no outrage over tyson being in the film. sure, his offense was in the early 90’s, but it’s still a pretty terrible offense. oh well, whatever. they both suck.

  26. CathyT says:

    @Jo ‘Mama’ Besser…hilarious! I didn’t get it at first.

  27. cb2 says:

“replaced … after the cast and crew refused to work with him”

So now the cast/crew tell the producers who to hire? And how to fund it and where to shoot it, too?

  28. Debbie says:

Agreed Cathy T Total Bull shit
story, why don’t you focus on Oinky going to court today she tried to get Mel to go first Apparentley the Judge has had enough of her BS as well.

I wonder what version of her truth she’ll say in there today?

Any way according to other views about this Mel was not really worried about being replaced in the movie,
It’s just some one trying to make a name for themselves wanting to be a somebody spreading tips to tabloids
    Debbie

  29. REALIST says:

Mel needs more than medication-he needs to be admitted to a psych hospital for an assessment. It’s so bizarre how he goes on these rants and sounds like he’s gasping for air. What is that? I have no idea what is wrong with him, but he is obviously mentally ill and needs intervention and treatment.

  30. yourmomma says:

Zack G already said the reason he doesnt like mel gibson was because hes an anti-semite, which is why he doesnt mind having a rapist in his movie. he just doesnt give a fuck when it comes to crimes against women.

  31. Zvonk says:

    @yourmomma

Zach G was raised Greek Orthodox. Why would he give a crap whether someone was an anti-semite or not?

  32. Pony says:

It is so easy to imagine that Gibson is abusive bastard.Disgusting man

  33. michelle says:

“It is so easy to imagine that Gibson is abusive bastard.Disgusting man”

Really? Have you actually seen this happen before? None of know for sure whether or not he had abused Oksana Grigorieva. I mean her pictures clearly don’t show any marks or bruising and dentists claimed that her pictures were fake.
