Britney Spears celebrated the finalization of her custody battle by going on vacation with Palms Hotel & Casino owner George Maloof, Jr. The vacation seems to be professional and/or platonic – Britney’s been rumored to be in negotiations to star in a Vegas show, and she and Maloof have been friends for years. And she was photographed dancing and flirting with another (hotter) mystery guy. The two were goofing around poolside, with Britney in a bikini. All that working out has done her a lot of good – she looks much healthier than she did a few months ago.
With her custody drama with Kevin Federline finally over, Britney Spears is back in shape and ready for fun.
The pop star escaped to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico for a sunshine holiday with a group of friends, including longtime pal George Maloof, who owns the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
After slipping into a skimpy white bikini, the singer flirted up a storm with another male companion, giggling as the pair danced around the pool arm-in-arm.
And for posterity – or perhaps another disastrous reality show – a female friend caught all the action on a video camera.
The party later moved to the beach, where Britney frolicked on the foreshore before cooling her heels in the sea.

The Daily Mail has the pictures There’ve also been a lot of rumors floating around this last week that Britney may indeed open for MTV’s Video Music Awards again this year- hopefully correcting her legendarily awful performance from last year. Brit was nominated for an award by fans, for her video Piece of Me.
Originally it was said that MTV producers were open to the idea of her performing, but now the phrasing is more like “worried she wants to perform.” Which is a tad different. But she has made a pretty awesome comeback in the last few months, and seems to realize what a disastrous effect her last performance had. I think that if anyone could make that comeback, it’s Britney.

That’s a funny face she’s making, it’s one of those millisecond paparazzi snapshots which catches oddball facial movements and unflatters the subject. Is “unflatters” a word? A verb word, I mean? Hmm.
“Changed her life around”? I don’t think so. She doesn’t even have custody of her children.
She does look much healthier & happier than anyone has seen in ages so she is clearly on the right track. But girlfriend still has a looong way to go.
Oh!! Xiaoecho, we cross-posted, but I so totally agree with you re. the psych meds messing her up! They probably have her doped up on all kinds of core bi-polar shit, Lithium and Depakote or what have you, and those drugs steal your spirit and deaden you eyes, and completely fuck up your figure. Lithium, especially.
BUT — she really does look so very much better these days, she’s so beautiful in her white bikini by the pool in Mexico, I saw the pictures over at Dlisted. She’ll regain her figure once she regains her control & hold on her own life and estate, you’ll see. She’s not gonna burn out or fade away yet any time soon.

I confess to saying some truly awful things about her a while back- who didn’t, save Chris Crocker- and have given her a really hard time about the shit choices she’s made in her life. Now I have nothing but empathy for her, and this story and the pics of her in the aforementioned white bikini (you can see them on dlisted, btw) actually made me feel really happy for her. I know she’s still got a long way to go, but she looks way better than she has in a long time. I hope she can figure out her life and keep taking better care of herself so that she can one day take care of her little ones, also.

Snowblood……gotta second what you said about the meds. Anyone who has had experience of or a loved one who has mental illness will recognise it in Britney. People have commented on the ‘strange’ expression on her face – the pursed lips and ‘dead’ look (known as ‘lack of affect’)

I love brit’s shape. She’s always had a more athletic build. It’s been long rumored that the only way she got as small as she did in her hey-day was from some VERY unhealthy practices. Look at her pics from when she first came out…she’s athletic looking. Then after her Onyx hotel tour (or right about the time of “chaotic”) she was about the same shape. Only for a short while in the middle was she super tiny. Look at the pics of her standing next to Aguilera at the VMA’s a long time ago. She’s a bigger girl.
