It’s been forever and a day since we’ve had new Cate Blanchett photos. She’s been in Australia for a while, doing plays and being a mom and running a theatre with her husband. So these photos are so wonderful – she was in Switzerland to shill a watch, just like Gwyneth was. But notice the difference in style – where Goopy looked like a greasy mess clinging to youth through Botox and a frilly, girly dress, Cate looks stylish, classic, mature-yet-ageless and impeccable. The outfit is Dries Van Noten – I love when she wears a menswear-inspired look. So chic.
A few more people were there for this watch launch or whatever. Matthew Fox is rocking new facial hair. I kind of hate it.
And Elle Macpherson overdressed completely. She’s trying to draw attention away from La Blanchett, and it’s just not happening. You have to be a delusional, narcissistic bitch to think that you can draw attention away from Cate.

She is very beautiful and a terrific actress but that outfit does absolutely nothing for her. OTOH I get a feeling she’s not concerned with fashion all that much.
Goatees should have died with the year 1995.
Cate sometimes makes choices that are so edgy you can hardly look at them, but I love the top on this. Pants? Not so much. I think they should be a tad less starched looking; a bit looser. Plus I’m not a huge fan of white bottom/black top. Prefer white/black. But you all don’t care about my fashion rules . . . Cate doesn’t. She’s my hero.

the lipstick color is a bit funky. maybe because of the hair color/skin tone; i like her more natural mouthed. the coat should have a been a lighter/different color with the white pants. too contrasty.

I love Cate’s acting and I think she has an unusual kind of beauty, but am I the only one who finds her pleasant, but a bit overly serious?
Everything about her — her hair, her posture, her makeup, screams “I am a serious actor” — as if there was ever a doubt.
Love her look – whatever she wears looks classy and elegant. She truly flies the flag for intelligence and talent. A great ambassador for Australia and a wonderful actress as well. Why is she not on the cover of every magazine instead of a Kardashian???
