Bristol Palin denies she was fired from speaking gig, says Kathy Griffin hates her family

bristol1
Bristol Palin, 20, was on E! News last night to presumably promote her upcoming memoir, which is out this summer. Bristol and her two year-old Tripp gave E!’s Giuliana Rancic a tour of her new house in Maricopa, Arizona, which she paid $172k cash for and found online. The house was sparsely furnished without any pictures on the wall and just a few decorations, but it looked big and open. It has five bedrooms and two and half baths. Bristol talked about how good it feels to own a home at the age of 20 and said that Tripp calls her mom Sarah “nana” instead of “grandma.”

The room with the most decorations and personal touches was Bristol’s bedroom, which was in a tasteful contemporary style and included a photo on her nightstand of her boyfriend Gino after he’d just bagged a deer. I sh*t you not. She had some animal print furniture in the living room but it wasn’t overdone and didn’t look tacky or anything. Her house was pretty bare overall.

Bristol also has an elliptical machine in her house and she looked like she’d lost weight since Dancing with The Stars ended.

On E! she didn’t say much of interest and mostly showed the house, but they have more from Bristol on their website, including Bristol’s denial that she was disinvited from that speaking gig at Washington University after students objected. She also trashed Kathy Griffin, who made some pot shots at her expensee during a comedy show entertaining the troops last month.

On how she was never disinvited because she didn’t confirm
Luckily, in the meantime she has a lucrative career in speech-giving to fall back on. Er, when they’re not canceled, that is. And about that…

“I was like, ‘Are you kidding me? Is this a joke?’ ‘Cause I never committed to it. So I couldn’t be uninvited or cut off as a speaker. But it was really strange,” she said of her Washington University in St. Louis brouhaha. “It was definitely politically motivated…I never wanted to do it really.

“I feel like I am being pushed around, but I know that I am strong enough to handle it. So if they are going to pick on me, then so be it, but I just hope they don’t do that to other people.”

On how she felt about Kathy saying Bristol had gained weight on DWTS
“It didn’t [hurt my feelings] because it was coming from Kathy Griffin of all people, and I think it just shows her immaturity. I don’t think that stuff’s funny at all. Just very strange.”

Still, Bristol can not only take it, she can dish it as well.

“She has a weird hate for our family, just like her coming to Alaska and knocking on our front door. And it’s weird, also, that she would pick on my weight. She’s had botched liposuction procedures and stuff like that, so…It’s just weird that she would pick on something like that for another woman.”

Bristol went on to say that she’s never met Kathy and would like to keep it that way.

“I think she would just not be an enjoyable individual to be around at all.” Still, like any good Christian, Bristol said she would be willing to accept an apology should Griffin offer it.

“She’s never going to, but yes, I would accept it,” Bristol said.

[From E! Online]

So Bristol is saying that she never was really scheduled to do that gig, but that she was still being pushed around and picked on. Then she goes on to say that Kathy Griffin has it out for her family and that Kathy had botched lipo so she shouldn’t be talking smack about her. This is pretty much how her mom handles detractors too.

According to E!, Bristol has an offer to host a morning radio show in Arizona.

Here’s a segment that did not air on E! last night where Bristol talks about her new boyfriend. They’re going to air more of her interview tonight on E! News.

    She is not news worthy.

  2. clouie says:

You have a problem with this? Talk to your fame whoring mother about it.

PS I hate your family, too.

  3. susie says:

It’s not just weight loss, it’s a new chin implant.

  4. Jennay says:

Without all that DWTS makeup she looks fresh faced and young. Just the way a young woman in the spotlight should look IMO.

  5. mojoman says:

GO AWAY! take care of your child, go to college and get to work like everyone else who is struggling in USA!

  6. QUEST says:

Everytime I see the Palin’s it is like a lot of bullsh*t crap ouzing out of their mouths…. it makes no sense (why they attract interest) because they slam everything else but their own self absorbed lives.

Not even a picture of her son – only a picture of her new beau. Well, hello…welcome to Arizona where you can boink your new beau and preach about abstinence on a radio talk show. Right!

  7. jc126 says:

Lol. So because she hadn’t confirmed, she didn’t get dumped? That is really strange…reasoning. (I notice she’s fond of calling things strange.)

  8. Happymom says:

Why won’t this family go away? What is wrong with our country that people have decided that she’s newsworthy and that her mother is actually selling books and starting her campaign for the presidency? Ugh. Neither of them have any intelligence, insight or class.

  9. Mollyb says:

Just like her mother–she would deny the sky is blue with a straight face and that crazy-ass look in her eye. Everything is a personal vendetta. So, so sick of these jackholes.

  10. GeekChic says:

@susie, it does really look like it — she has an all new chin. Wow. As for the girl herself, well I have no words as the Palins in general make me start screaming expletives while banging my head against the wall. I will save the CB community from having to witness it firsthand.

  11. Cherry Rose says:

Bristol, please go away. You’re a hypocrite. You’ve been able to profit off your baby. You’re life is not hard because of teenage pregnancy.

Why don’t you go work a REAL 9-5 job, have to pay for daycare for Tripp while you’re at it, and hope to god you make the rent, car payment, insurane payment, and can buy food that month, like real teenage mothers do.

    Spoiled brat.

  12. guesty says:

Lol about the bf pic. I saw that seg last nite. And all I could think was this is an atypical lifestyle for a teen mom. And her do as I say not as I do schpeel is getting old. She’s made so much bank from her ‘mistake’.

And Quest…she did have a beautiful portrait of Tripp on the other side of her bed.

  13. Jules says:

She would accept Griffins apology. Faith teaches one how to forgive and forget, not to accept apologies. She is a famewhore just like her mother. They are both disgusting good for nothings that only care about fattening their bank accounts and the expense of the fools that buy their crap. I hope her book fails.

  14. Quest says:

@ guesty: Sorry. Did not see the pic of her son. My bad.

All I heard and saw at the time was the pic of her new guy with a dead animal …how romantic. I would definitely put that kind of picture at the side of my night table (not)

Everytime I see her I need to slap something. Sorry

  15. Moreaces says:

Like mother like daughter always the victim, when the real victims is the American public

  16. sapphire says:

What’s not to hate, when this chick has already learned the Lohan denial doo-wah.

  17. Jacq says:

Poor misguided little Bristol, we ALL hate your family. If we liked you, you’d be living a little closer to the White House, not in Arizona.

  18. macey says:

Her chin is different! Maybe she had lipo or something??

The Palins are nothing but famewhores, they’re both addicted to being in front of the camera regardless of the format. Thats the only reason SP would run is for more face time, I dont think she cares about politics or anything else other than mugging it up.. same for this twit.

  19. MSat says:

Kathy Griffin doesn’t hate the Palin family! She has said numerous times that the whole lot of them is a “gift from God” in terms of material for her act. Hee hee.

Also – yeah – what 20 year old with a toddler can afford to pay for a house in CASH? More proof that the Palin’s, for all their talk about being “middle class” like you and me, are completely out of touch with what’s really going on in this country.

  20. Tazina says:

I’m not sure about the chin. The lower part of her face is in shadow which might make it seem like she’s had some work done. Her three chins still might be there, just hidden in the shadows. Need to see a side view.

  21. the original bellaluna says:

Yet another reason I don’t watch E! News. The Soup is the only worthy thing that network puts out.

  22. guesty says:

@quest..lol! i was so appalled during the entire piece i just couldn’t look away. that family! ugh.

& then I started feeling sorry for guiliana since she really really wants her own little one.

  23. Boey Jellodonna says:

Hey Bristol, if you don’t want to be in the “public eye” then get out of it and go live your life like every other anonymous person does. No one made you accept speaking gigs and TV appearances. No one gets to be “famous” strictly on their own terms. Go away, do your thing and trust me, no one will care. But if you choose to do interviews and put yourself out there, the heat will come because as much as you may not like it, your mom has made a lot of enemies with that mouth on her and you’ll inevitably catch some fallout if you try to ride those coattails into the land of fame and money.

  24. original kate says:

who doesn’t hate this family? ugh. the ironic thing is that even though i disliked sarah from the get-go, during the campaign i was on bristol’s side. i said, “she’s just a young girl, she isn’t running for office, being an unwed mom is nothing to be ashamed of, etc.” i didn’t think it was at all cool when comedians (leno, dave, conan, etc) made fun of her. obviously i have seen the error of my ways.

as for her speech, the offer was made and then rescinded, so yes, you were uninvited. dumbass. and are we supposed to believe that she wasn’t going to take the speaking gig? this family would run across a traintrack to pick up a nickel, so i’m thinking she would not pass up the chance to make 18K.

  25. bunkins says:

    Poor Palins… always the victims

  26. TaylorB says:

I can’t tell if she had work done, odd lighting or simply lost some baby fat in her face, but her nose, cheeks, and chin look different. She is a very pretty girl to begin with, I hope she doesn’t go down the Kim K. path and make herself a joke.

  27. Lyla says:

    lol @clouie

  28. paperjam says:

“The room with the most decorations and personal touches was Bristol’s bedroom” Huh? Just proves what a self-involved, egocentric idiot she is. The first complete, interesting and fun room in her house should have been Tripp’s. Guess everything really is about her.

  29. Roxanne75 says:

Bitches are mean, this girl did nothing wrong and Kathy is beastly woman. Rude, crude and fugly as hell. As if people should sit by and let others pick on them without any reason. This girl or her family didn’t personally attack anyone but it’s ok for others to attack them? Really? I think we learn in school about being bullied and you are suppose to stand up for yourself. So bitches, it’s ok for you to bully and be mean and call names? Since when is that nice? Pffsshhhtt!

Also-people say they “hate this family” but I have not heard an actual factual damn good reason to. People have been brainwashed to hate them and don’t even know why. That is so not cool.

  30. lucy2 says:

Boey, I completely agree. If she chooses to keep herself in the public eye and make a career of it, there will be reaction, and yeah, that includes comedians and general public comment. The best thing would be to take the high road and not engage in the immature back and forth, but she does seem to enjoy the victim role her mother loves to play.

I don’t really understand the fascination with her. She doesn’t seem to be that interesting, funny, talented, etc to warrant a showbiz career. I don’t blame her for taking opportunities, but she has to take the bad with the good when it comes to being a public figure.

  31. KB_explosion says:

    @roxanne75
    “that is so not cool”

    jennifer aniston, IS THAT YOU?!

  32. TaylorB says:

Roxanne75 wrote: “Also-people say they “hate this family” but I have not heard an actual factual damn good reason to. People have been brainwashed to hate them and don’t even know why. That is so not cool.”

The same exact thing can be said for the Clintons, the Bushs, and the Obamas, people hate them and have called them the worst things possible. Some people pathologically ‘hate’ politicians, often without really understanding why, maybe they are far too influenced by pundits or they are like sports fans who just simply ‘hate’ the other team no matter what. So many people to hear day in and day out that the ‘other team’ is nothing but ‘bad ideas’ and their team is nothing but ‘good ideas’, they often don’t actually stop to listen to the ideas and simply judge the ideas based on a preconceived notion.

That being said and this is not reflective of their politics at all, the Palins do seem to insert themselves into these situations and into the limelight and then gripe after the fact if they are pointed out for being less than perfect.

  33. Ron says:

I don’t have the time to hate the Palin family. However, if you are an educated person living in the country, with all the Palin media shenanigans, how can you possibly like or defend them?

HL Mencken has a great quote about politicians and it completely applies here “Politicians are knaves who maintain themselves by preying on the idiotic vanities and pathetic hopes of half-wits” Palin supporters to a “tea”.

  34. JustBe says:

I have got to train my brain not to think about any Palin. They are in the same pantheon as the Jersey Shore crew, the Kardashians, etc., etc. All of them exploit the ignorance/curiosity of the public to make huge bucks. The tactic is definitely annoying, but most of them don’t have a lot of other money making options.

I will reserve my hate for an institution of supposed learning that was even considering inviting someone of that group to speak to college students. Exactly what was she supposed to say to a group of young people that are most likely struggling financially and academically to better themselves?

If I attended that school, I would have been so frustrated to have to listen to whatever speech she may have made that could’ve only consisted of: 1) I got pregnant when I was a teenager; 2) My mom used my pregnant self to further her political campaign and thrust me and my immature boyfriend into the national spotlight (but only because she loves me, youbetcha!); 3) I had my kid and then started exploiting my mom’s political fame to make money as an ‘abstinence promoter’ even though I never practiced it; 4) I’m rich now bitches!!!

  35. alexandra says:

I hate her, I hate her mother, I hate her mother’s mother, I hate her father, I hate all their fake hypocritical c*ntiness.

  36. StrawberryGirl says:

I wonder if she can see Mexico from her house?

  37. Jen says:

I’m from St. Louis and I have friends at Wash U. She most certainly was “disinvited”. The offer to speak was extended and then recinded after the overwhelmingly negative response. I was very proud of my hometown that day.

Bristol, honey, the students at Wash U recognize that you are a hypocrite with nothing to offer during a debate about abstinence. There’s nothing “strange” about that.

  38. arock says:

    dear bristol,
please go get a job or go to school. stop dating, screwing, talking or taking advantage of any other opportunity where you could become more of a blight on society.
and we all hate your family.
    xo
    american people

  39. ezra says:

Anyone with a brain can’t stand your family.

  40. Aubi says:

Ew – f*ck off! Just go away! What a moron. Oh really, you weren’t disinvited? It just so happens that all of the students were so disgusted by you that they signed a petition to PREVENT you from being invited. Idiot.

  41. Cookie says:

Has anyone contacted E! and told the network you and the rest of the American people hate the Palins and that you all want them to go away? No? Well that is why they get air time…because YOU ARE WATCHING THEM!

If no one watched the Palins, the networks would not air them.

  42. Dara says:

Geez. What a lot of judgemental, self-righteous CB readers. You people have pretty strong negativity about people you’ve never met.

Why are the Palins so evil for making their living on camera when you clearly care enough to pay attention?

Furthermore, why are they MORE evil than others who earn money on television and by giving commentary on anything and everything they can get quoted for?

So they have money but consider themselves middle class. AND? Would you rather they refer to themselves as ‘upper crust’ and ‘exclusive’? No. You’d rant and rage all the more.

So this kid got pregnant as a teen. Stupid? Yes. But she’s made it clear that she feels her decision was wrong.

I’ve never met such a vitriolic, catty bunch in person, which makes me both very glad that most people aren’t as miserable as CB readers and very suspicious that most of you wouldn’t dream of spouting such ignorance in real life.

  43. CB Rawks says:

Sigh. Yawn. Dara, we are negative about specific things the Palins have done that are stupid. (If you need help with the many details, read up on them. They do everything stupid in public so it’s no problem finding the info.)
You don’t actually need to know someone personally to have an opinion about the things that they do politically (snort) or as famewhores trying to strike it big. (EYEroll)

Generally CB readers aren’t miserable, we have hope for many positive developments in the world, but the constant reminders of the existence of zeros like the Palins (with their constant desperate attention seeking and threats to run for political office) can worry and rile some of us up. Because we are intelligent. Did I explain that with enough short words?

  44. futureperfect says:

@dara, are you suggesting we look at the Palins as mere television celebrities? you mean, the same woman who was a running mate to john mccain in the last u.s. presidential election and has serious, albeit misguided, aspirations for the next election and her daughter whose most celebrated accomplishment is teenage pregnancy?

it was one thing for Reagan to be a telemediatic personality — he was an actor by trade — but seriously (if that’s even possible), that certain members of this family have become among tv’s most regular narcissists showcasing their upper middle class personal lives and selling their perverse brand of jingoism is downright EVIL.

(and i was simply going to comment that bristol palin looks like satan’s spawn in the above pics, because she is.)

    catty bitch #43 signing off.

  45. cprincess says:

I can have respect for anyone even if I dont agree with them politically as long as they know what they are talking about which in the case of Sarah Palin is simply not true…
Yeah the kid got knocked up-it happens all the time but the fact that she of all people is a PAID speaker for abstinence is beyond a joke-you can be sure that she wouldnt be making any speeches for free.
This family are in it for the money and thats fine but Im tired of hearing about them-Sarah Palin presumes to comment on the president and his decisions and meantime she bailed on Alaska’s governorship midterm and ran the state when it had surplus ( not her making-the price of oil was much higher)-what does she know for christ sake-shes a complete moron along with her daughter and to quote Barbara Bush “I hope she goes back to Alaska and “fucking” stays there….

  46. Kasper says:

dumb, ugly and famous – are we sure she hasn’t guest starred on jersey shore?

ps. Dara thank you for dropping everything to run to the Palin’s defense – they and America need you.

  47. EdithP says:

All I can say is if in the last election Obama had been the one to have a knocked-up, unmarried, teenaged daughter, you would have heard much different commentary on it.

  48. Praise St. Angie! says:

“whose most celebrated accomplishment is teenage pregnancy?”

now, now…she also made it to the finals on “Dancing with the Stars”. 🙂

“If no one watched the Palins, the networks would not air them.”

and that’s why “Alaska” wasn’t renewed for a second season.

EDIT: “you would have heard much different commentary on it.”

EdithP, I’m curious to know, what kind of “commentary” do you think we would have heard? the biggest issue of Palin’s kid being unmarried and pregnant was that she was pushing abstinence-only sex ed, which CLEARLY doesn’t work. it was the hypocrisy of it. if Obama and his admin wanted to push abstinence-only sex ed and one of his daughters were pregnant, I think you’d have probably seen the same commentary. but I’m open to hear what YOU think the commentary would have been. please elaborate?…

  49. EdithP says:

I may get blasted for this, but I just think the conservatives (populations, media, politicians, etc)would have had a field day with a BLACK unmarried knocked-up teenager, abstinence-only or no.

I’m not a proponent of abstinence-only by any means, by the way. I think teenagers have been having sex since the beginning of time, right or wrong, and they should be adequately prepared to prevent pregnancies and diseases.

  50. Praise St. Angie! says:

    EdithP, thanks for your answer.

  51. EdithP says:

You’re welcome, PSA. I also find it ironic that Sarah Palin herself “had” to get married.

  52. original kate says:

“What a lot of judgemental, self-righteous CB readers. You people have pretty strong negativity about people you’ve never met.”

@ dara: okay, but then you turn around and call us all “vitriolic, catty and miserable” so i’m not sure what your point is. oh, right, you have no point. so why exactly do you come to this site? why not just go over to sarah palin’s PAC – i think that may be more your scene.

  53. jayem says:

Her face looks SO different. If you hadn’t had the video, I would have insisted this was her youngest sister, Piper.

LMAO @ Strawberry Girl! And EdithP, I totally agree with you. If one of the Obama girls (provided she were old enough) or Chelsea Clinton had gotten pregnant, the Reps would have had a field day citing that as the reason preventative measures don’t work. But BP has a baby and then gets paid to speak about abstinence when it clearly wasn’t being practiced. Quite the double standard.

  54. BillBrasky says:

    HATE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS FAMILY.
A memior? sure, because at 20 she’s had so much life experience
