Britney’s back (again), does shows in Vegas and San Francisco

Britney Spears is launching yet another album after her successful worldwide Circus tour about two years ago. As promotion for her new album Femme Fatale, out Tuesday, she did two brief shows in Vegas Saturday Night and then performed a free concert of the same three song set in San Francisco on Sunday. That show was taped for Good Morning America and will air tomorrow. They’re promoting the hell out of it and I keep seeing spots for it on TV, where they promise that we’ll get to “wake up and go to bed” with Britney. It doesn’t sound like that great a prospect to me, but she has a lot of fans and she puts out solid pop hits. An MTV special featuring Britney will also air this week.

Whoever thought Britney Spears had lost it … boy, were you ever wrong.

The 29-year-old Mississippi-born beauty, a mother-of-two, showed off her incredible figure — particularly her derriere — in front of 5,000 fans at San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on Sunday. Part of the event will be broadcast on Good Morning America Tuesday, as host Robin Roberts, fresh off her testy chat with Chris Brown, joined Spears onstage at one point.

The resurgent chart-topper changed costumes several times during the event, wearing luscious get-ups like a a silver sequined body-suit and a black leotard that accentuated her tremendous physique. She looked stunning in a series of outfits as she sang Hold It Against Me, Big Fat Bass, Till The World Ends.

The production was top-notch as well, as Brit’s elaborate stage set up was enhanced by a firework finale that ended the show. The 29-year-old Toxic singer has hit the road in promotion of her upcoming album Femme Fatale, the follow-up to her 2008 smash-hit Circus.

“The energy, the people, the dancing the music, Britney — it was tremendous!” Roberts said following the set.

The sexy songbird tweeted about the great time she had in the city by the Bay following the Sunday show.

“Just wrapped GMA. I love love love you San Francisco! -Britney,” she tweeted, later adding, “Leaving the Castro District. I wanted to see more but I could barely get out the car!!! I love you all SO much … PS – Even my dad had a great time!”

She also thanked Jersey Shore’s Pauly D “for keeping the crowd pumped at my Vegas show on Friday night.”

Check out GMA Tuesday, as the show will air clips from Sunday’s concert, as well as a special announcement from the singer.

[From Radar Online]

Britney was touring nearly all of 2009 and she did very well. We barely heard much gossip about her, except for some minor wardrobe malfunctions, and lip syncing complaints. It looks like there’s more of the same planned for her soon. This “big announcement” she’s going to make on GMA will probably be for a tour of some kind. She’s got managers and lawyers and ex husbands to pay, and that’s where the money is. She looks great and more together than ever, and she’s doing what she knows. I’ve been waiting for the other shoe to drop for her for a while, but maybe she’s past all that now and ready to move on to the next phase in her career.

Here’s a preview of Tuesday’s GMA:

Update: Here’s a clip of her Vegas performance. [via DListed] She looks wooden, just like on her last tour, but that’s Britney.

  1. have you seen the actual vids? she looks terrible. she needs to go away and live happy quiet life out of public eye.

  2. jessica says:

Her face is looking different… I cant put my finger on it… she looks fuller in the face..

  3. guesty says:

Her hair looks good for once. Especially from the back during the gma clip.

  4. Quest says:

Brit needs grow up as an artist (musically), she is no longer a teeny-booper and should face reality. I know she has her fan-base of followers but come on, re-invent yourself if you will.

Kinda getting tired of the lip-syncing and the pre-teen lyrics already. It is too long to hold on to those teenage pop princess days.

  5. malachais says:

I’m not a fan of Britney, but I can say that she looks great and seems to be dancing better than what I saw of the Circus Tour. I don’t think her passion towards dancing is very strong anymore. People change, we can’t expect her to be exactly the same as she used to be. There are very few people that are capable of looking/doing the exact same thing they were at 18 when they’re close to 30. I wish she would evolve and do more than just clubby pop hits though, but I doubt that will happen.

  6. Len says:

Somehow she has lost it. She has lost the energy, the radiance, the sexiness. It’s all become so…flat. It seems likes she’s trying hard to be her old self, but the old self is gone. Could it be that she is medicated or something? Or can you just lose your talent? and never get it back?

  7. Len says:

and when will women get back to wearing pants or skirts or anything on their bottom half? This is just becoming so boring.

  8. jessica says:

wait a sec.. is that bra changing colors??? lol (dancing video)

  9. TQB says:

I agree with everyone noting that she looks tired and enthused, which is sad. If she doesn’t want to be out performing, I wish she didn’t feel (for whatever reason – money, dad, need for public adoration) like she HAS to do it.

BUT, from just the stills, she does *look* good. Like really good – fit and curvy. Her butt looks great.

  10. Anonandonandon says:

She’s a one trick pony who can’t do her trick anymore. Why should she try to improve or even care when she is rewarded and praised for simply existing? I wonder if she would still be getting away with this pantomiming crap if she hadn’t had a conveniently timed breakdown. I just love reading about how she struggled and clawed her way back to the top when the truth is that she does even less than she did before. I’ll never understand why people would pay to watch her wave her arms around while her CD plays in the background. To each their own I guess.

  11. azurea says:

Yikes, why would anyone pay money to see her perform? She reminds me of the kid at a dance recital who can’t remember her steps, and shuffles through the number, trying to pick up the routine from the other kids. And what’s with Robin Roberts gushing over this woman? It’s just embarrassing!

  12. P'Allen says:

It would be nice if she wore pants. Performers these days…what’s their aversion to wearing things on the bottom half of their body?

That being said, I do wish whoever keeps pushing Britney to keep performing would just let her be. I may be wrong, but I get the impression (like others) that her heart isn’t in it anymore. She should retire and focus on herself and her boys. I kinda feel for her…

  13. kelbear says:

I really hate to say this because I have always been a huge fan but she has lost it and it’s never coming back. With so much auto-tune these days we will never hear her voice again and there is no life in her dancing anymore.

  14. Eleonor says:

It’s true she looks better but she makes me sad, she is like a puppet in the hands of her lawyers/father. Yes Daddy Spears saved her from herself but she doesn’t talk, she doesn’t make interview; she goes on stage, she performs and again under control.

  15. clorismetchum says:

well, i love her. i think she’s an excellent role model for girls and i’d be be lying if i said i wouldn’t probably lez out for her. i’ve always thought she’s a cutie. can’t wait for the album tomorrow!

  16. Anonandonandon says:

How is Britney an excellent role model? She’s a pathological liar who never takes responsibility for her actions and she’s dumb as hell. What does she do that anyone would want their child to emulate?

  17. Hhhmm says:

“…. the people, the dancing the music…”(R. Roberts) Notice how the music comes last. Pop stars of today are a joke, but what passes for entertainment these days its expected. As far as Spears she has the legs of a Sumo, and she is trying too hard to bleed out what little talent she has or had. On stage she has always been one missed button push away from her Ashlee Simpson moment, nothing has changed.

  18. Luci says:

is that a white brief under a lace body? (last pic)
    err

  19. jover says:

azurea I’m sure robin roberts knows nothing about, nor cares, about the state of today’s pop music; remember, she works for the network owned by Disney – she like most of these network ornaments will say anything for a paycheck.

  20. Amanda says:

I still don’t understand why she can no longer move. People say “she got old and has 2 kids”. Ummm, what? She is 29 years old. I am not a dancer and I can move more than that. She works out all the time (supposedly, according to her), so what is the excuse for the wooden dance movements that look as if she is putting in 0% effort? If she doesn’t have a singing voice and isn’t going to sing, she at least needs to be putting on a show and DANCING.

  21. sapphire says:

She got “issues” and even the usual BS Radar spouts isn’t going to change that. I feel kind of sorry for her- she doesn’t have the talent to really pursue singing or songwriting and seems permanently stuck in 2003. I doubt she even understands that there are other things she can do. Imagine being stuck with the “pop princess” moniker when you are a mom who looking 30 in the eye, and lip-synchs and arm-dances.

  22. Quest says:

Role Model (???) huh, maybe a spokes person for someone who has overcome adversity (yes).

Remember Brit’s va-ja-ja flashing/shareing, club humping, head shaving, alcohol binging, pot smoking, etc,etc days when her family and friends had to step in.

I am glad she cleaned up her act and finally became motherly to her sons but role model is a bit excessive.

  23. OtherChris says:

I don’t like her music, but let’s be honest: She still has a great butt.

  24. PrettyLights says:

I’ve never been a fan of hers but I’m rooting for her… girl has been through a lot and very publicly. Her body looks great and she got her weave fixed! I agree about her dancing, she just doesn’t look comfortable, but I’ve never thought she was a great dancer.

  25. yeah! says:

music ability (or lack thereof) aside, she looks freaking fantastic…unlike that skank Christina Aquilera!

  26. TXCinderella says:

I saw a clip of her performance on Access Hollywood and it looks like the same ol’ stuff she’s been doing, the spread legged, prancing around, lip syncing stuff. I like her music, but she is not good live.

  27. gg says:

She needs to grow up and get dressed and move on as a singer. The trite double-entendre song titles are really old, old, old and not clever. High school jokes. ugh.

  28. Beatrix says:

Not a fan. Never have been, never will be.
That being said, I think people are being
way too harsh on the woman. Unlike other pop
stars, Britney isn’t trying to be a social
commentator (not that there’s something wrong with that)
or (faux) avante garde. She just wants to dance and
be happy. I think that was always her thing, but
The industry turned her into something more and she felt she had
    to live up to that.

Britney doesn’t want this anymore. I don’t think she has for a while.
She just wants to be a mommy, and she’s unsure of how to deal with
    her two very opposite identities.

  29. becky says:

ok im totally biased because im a huge fan BUT
i think shes scared to dance. whenever i watch hold it against me i keep saying to the myself, “dance brit! come on! u can can do it! ur britney!!!!” and u know her choreographer makes that shit easy. meds making her lethargic? fuck you to having to be on stage to support the machine?
whatever. its britney and her new songs r killing it!

  30. Heatherrr says:

She DID get something done to her face but you cannot tell, she just looks more refreshed. She looks great.

I truly hope she is happy. Sometimes you just dont know.

  31. Kim says:

Everyone comments how she looks wooden BUT to keep up your energy level for an entire concert you would have to maintain some of your energy and pace yourself. There isnt a singer out there who goes 100% full out for 2 1/2-3 hours. Not even Madonna. They throw is special effects, costume changes, etc. I think Britney looks great.

  32. TG says:

She isn’t a role model for overcoming adversity either. She still hasn’t overcome anything. She reminds me of a puppet. Someone behind her is pulling all the strings. And the VMA’s rewarding her for nothing doesn’t mean she has overcome anything.

  33. strawberrygirl says:

I think the medicine they have her on has really impaired her ability to dance the way she use to. I think it’s unfortunate, but her health is priority. I’m 25 and have loved her since I was 12. I’m glad she is still at the top.

  34. tomas says:

Definitely something different about her face…can’t put my finger on it but it’s fuller or puffy???

  35. Conando says:

Yikes, I’ve seen people dance more and better at Zumba workouts.

  36. poodlemom says:

Call me crazy….but I LOVE Britney and her music! I have always loved the nasal quality of her voice…and her little kitten-like growl. I thing when push comes top shove…she can crank out some kick-ass music! I know she is dysfunctional at times…but she come back again and again…and proves that she really has what it takes to stay on top in this business. Good for her!!!

  37. d says:

I think Britney wanted out from this whole world way back when she took time off to have kids (after she injured her knee?). She hasn’t to do this for a loooong time, for years, and I think that, coupled with issues and meds (I’m betting anxiety), makes it really hard for her to perform. I feel bad for her and I wish they would let her retire to Louisiana and not do this anymore. Watching that Vegas clip, I’m embarrassed for her. Very sad.

  38. sirsly says:

“…and she puts out solid pop hits.” ??Umm who are you kidding? The over produced mechanical voice has run its course.

Unfortunately she hasn’t been playing w/ a full deck for years now.

And mind u, why do we need to keep begging for her comeback – this girl has MILLIONS and is financially set for life!

  39. ordinarygirl86 says:

She will never be the same as she was (after all she was on top in her teens) BUT she looks great AND she’s done a little more dancing then usual in these performances (baby steps,I thinks it’s meds also). Let’s face it Britney will be around for awhile because she puts out hits consistently and she’s managed to keep her fanbase following her for what 10 years now? I bought her first cd and I’m 25 now…and still jamming to her music on the treadmill!

  40. Confuzzle says:

Watch her feet in that video; they barely leave the floor.

  41. luls says:

what i would REALLY like to know, is how she fixed that busted weave OVERNIGHT!??
Her hair looks GREAT! And the make-up does WONDERS! (without bein over the top like Christina or gaga) makes me so nostalgic for the old Britney….

If only she looks this put together on her regular days..
