Jennifer Lopez covers the September issue of Vanity Fair, not Linnocent

More than a month ago, there was a terrible story about Linnocent possibly being the cover girl for the September issue of Vanity Fair. Allegedly, it was going to be all about her crackie trials and tribulations, probably with a healthy dose of crack denial and the same-old BS quotes as always (“I’m sober! I just want to work!”). Thank God it didn’t happen! Jennifer Lopez is the cover girl for the September issue. YAY! It’s her first “post-split” interview. This is the only tiny, tiny little cover that’s been released:

jlo1

This is Jennifer’s second solo VF cover – her first was in 2001. A decade later, and still relevant enough for a cover story? That’s a “win” for J. Lo. Also a win? I was watching Selena yesterday (it was on TV), and I had the realization that if Jennifer wanted to refocus her energy into a film career, specifically in drama, I would be all over it. She’s a talented dramatic actress, y’all! I’ve always wanted her to find another project like Out of Sight. She was so, so good in that. She’s great when she gets to play “tough”.

Anyway, I can’t wait for the VF interview. Either it’s going to be total DIVA and she’s going to call Marc out and throw herself a big pity party, or she’s going to be classy and keep her on the record quotes low-key. Well… they gave her a cover. Which makes me think that she’s going to be saying some junk that Marc won’t like. It’s going to be good.

    Thank You Vanity Fair!

  2. Shay says:

I TOTALLY AGREE. I think she’s a very talented actress, and I don’t know why she’s resorting to the American Idol gig and mediocre records to keep herself relevant.
I am a big fan of most of her movies and I think she could really thrive in some dramatic, hard-hitting roles.

  3. Jess says:

Even though I’ve never been a JLo fan, I have always loved Out of Sight. That is one sexy movie and she and George are both great in it!

  4. the original bellaluna says:

Well, J-Ho is ALL about the klassy. I’m sure it’ll be more self-aggrandising quotes about how it’s all Marc’s fault and she’s the innocent victim and on and on…and please tell me that was sarcasm when discussing how “talented” an actress she is.

I thought Linnocent Blohan was going to be on the cover of Italian Vogue – am I mis-informed?

  5. Lady D says:

Agree about the ‘bash Mark’ comments. Cover pic usually equals salacious inside story.

  6. Whatamess! says:

she looks like a piranha on that cover..effing bit*h!

  7. LOVE ANGELINA says:

Yes sooo excited for Jen, love the cover picture, and I am glad I am not the only one who remembers the Jennifer Lopez from Out of sight, Blood and Wine, and Selena. Jen was sooo amazing in Selena. I would love for her to go back to those dramatic roots but Hollywood has to got give her chance.

  8. Boo says:

No Lindsay? Vanity Fair is out to get her! They were just using her for publicity! Move that orange cone!

  9. lrm says:

i’m so glad other ppl are saying the like her acting-b/c i always have, as well…in addition to drama, she’s got good comedic timing, too…

But ppl always trash her as talentless in general-so i’m always ducking when i say i think she’s a good actress.

i enjoy her on screen-and she has personality, for sure, as far as not being just ‘attractive’, ie, she’s colorful which translates on screen.

she should skip the singing-that is my main advice for her. and so american idol judging becomes equally offensive in that regard.(:
oh, and J Lo is much more sensical than Lilo, for sure, at this point in time.

  10. Liz says:

She is not that attractive and yet editors manage to make her look better on magazines, it is amazing

  11. Jackson says:

I’m no fan of JLo but thank goodness VF put her on the cover and not that crazy crackhead. I kind of doubt they were ever going to do it anyway. Just more BS LL fed to TMZ or whichever site was paying her that week.

  12. Truthful says:

    her acting?? LOL
    I can’t w/you guys today…LOL

and I used to be a heavy fan, when I didn’t know any better.

more flops to her credit that anything, Selena was good but that’s the only one I can think of.

  13. s says:

I don’t care what anyone says she a great actress that needs better roles

Ma Famille, Blood and Wine, U Turn, Jack, Selena, Out Of Sight, The Cell, Angel Eyes, Enough, Jersey Girl, An Unfinished Life, El Cantante, she has proven she’s a great actress, let the haters stay pressed, she a has also proven she’s a good comedic acress in films such as The Wedding Planner, Monstor In Law, so what if Gigl mega flopped,
She’s still an underrated actress hopefully she realizes her real talents are in acting, even thought I do think shes a good Pop perfromer

And NO this is not the 2nd time she has done VF but third, she did a music issues with Gwen Stefani and Alicia Keys back in 02

  14. lola says:

I still can’t believe she wore that green disaster to meet the Windsors.

  15. lisa says:

I saw that Marc changed the “Jennifer” tatoo he had on his wrist. Covered it over with some abstract thing.

I guess it really is OVER..

  16. danielle says:

Yeah, she should drop the singing – her voice is so thin and weak! I think she could have had a good acting career if she hadn’t wasted alot of goodwill trying to be a singer.

  17. Deven says:

Well, she wore it cause she’s Jenny from the block. Her block, not their block.

  18. Rita says:

“Jennifer Lopez covers the September issue of Vanity Fair, not Linnocent”

Thank God. I had this terrible image of Linnocent peaking out from under the cover of Jennifer’s skirt like a baby chick.

  19. bluhare says:

Blech. She’s got less class than school in the summer.

  20. Hanh says:

Wow…photoshop going on there on that cover.

  21. original kate says:

“Jennifer Lopez is the cover girl for the September issue.”

    in your face, blohan.

  22. Diane says:

As a life long Vanity Fair subscriber, that is indeed good news. I guess after the Bieber cover boy fiasco that resulted in dismal sales, VF is rethinking their cover. I was well prepared to write a letter if Linsanity made the cover and possibly cancel my subscription. I wrote one when Jessica Simpson was the cover girl and they published it. I’m not even a JLo fan but she is head-over-heals an improvement.

  23. 4Real says:

Well it’s better then another cover of LOHAN pretending to be grown up.

And I liked her in “monster-in-law” more than “Enough” which was LAME! She’s actually quit funny…but I never saw “out of sight” so….WTF do I know…

  24. the original bellaluna says:

    @ Rita – 😀

  25. Elizabeth says:

J-Lo is a better actress than she is given credit for. She was great in “An Unfinished Life” where she held her own with Robert Redford and Morgan Freeman. I also saw her in “Shall We Dance?” with Rihcard Gere. Chica’s got talent!

  26. bogie says:

i love her cute comedies and she was brilliant in Selena. She does fun music….so yeah I would have to agree with her taking on a strong movie role.

  27. Maritza says:

I think she is a good actress in both drama and comedy plus I like her songs, maybe she doesn’t have the greatest voice but she is good. Dance on the Floor, I’m into to you, Let’s get loud, and many more have catchy tunes. I love that she is such a hard worker, there are not many celebrities that are as business savvy who can say they are singer, dancer, choreographer, actress and producer. She makes the Latin community proud.

  28. londonLady says:

I love VF but I didn’t buy two versions this year because I couldn’t bear to buy a mag with either Justin Beiber or Linoccent on the front. Not spending my dosh on that Greydon..

  29. Nymeria says:

So… in other words, Vanity Fair is scraping the bottom of the barrel.

    Yay.

  30. Micah says:

    I’ll skip the issue….Thanks.

  31. Lena says:

I could see her getting a cover in 2001, I don’t think she’s relevant enough now. If she didn’t have the “divorce news” she probbly wouldn’t have gotten the cover, so for her, divorce = good career move. We’ll see how it does.

  32. Sinder says:

Jlo is hardly a better option. Why not put some real talent on the cover like Cate Blanchette? Sheesh.

  33. Quest says:

Well it was a toss up and JLo was the winning bet. Sorry LL …bahahaha…so sorry, [sic] it’s the lesser of two evils.

  34. e.non says:

september is a huge issue — major advertising. man, gotta give her credit for zooming right back to the top; esp considering what she’s working with — limited talent and as a host on a freakin talent show.

  35. louiset says:

Wasn’t Lindsay on the cover of September Italian Vanity Fair? I can’t imagine anybody believing she would get the cover of the American version. Also these interviews are done weeks in advance. The breakup was announced just a few weeks ago so most likely this is a pre-breakup interview. I doubt there’s anything scandalous.

  36. Seal Team 6 says:

I really cannot stand Jenny From the Block, but she was absolutely excellent in “Selena.”

And, I would rather anyone be on the VF cover rather than Linnocent, even Lucifer himself.

  37. Kosmos says:

Oh, gag…..just don’t like this woman at all. Hate to see her taking over VF for an entire month. Now that she’s on her own, I’ll bet she’s got her agent grabbing up the media so she can be seen everywhere. She’s got mediocre talent, but it’s all about being seen and talked about. She’s likely on a binge to consume every one of us until she’s satiated. Just don’t buy into her, is my advice.

  38. jover says:

I’m not buying it kosmos she is a mediocre narcissist; she plays to the latin community to sell her products, but otherwise has little use for it. And her “music” please another autotuned pop tart – she doesn’t write that stuff, play an instrument or compose it;please people need to raise their standards – this mediocre narcissist is a famewhore while esperanza spalding, with real talent, barely registers. Gotta love our junk pop culture of which JHO is such a good example.

  39. coucou says:

I’m neutral with her, don’t hate her, don’t love her, but i must say that she’s got one helluva publicist and style team, her image has improved dramatically in the past few years (since the skin tight pant suit fiasco) and she’s quite hot here in France.

  40. Chloe says:

Yup, I liked her in Out of Sight a lot

  41. Dr Lee says:

J Lo is still my best person in my heart no matter what. Especially the music title On the floor, simply too love to it.
