Yesterday, we heard about Fantasia Barrino’s latest pregnancy, this one by her long-time married lover, Antwaun Cook. Go here to read my recap of the situation, which some of you thought was incomplete, considering it’s widely believed that Fantasia was pregnant when she attempted suicide by overdosing on aspirin and sleeping pills, and that’s why she had the abortion with her last pregnancy. Yesterday, I was writing from memory, and from what I could remember, I don’t think it was ever established when Fantasia was pregnant and when she decided to have the abortion…? Correct me if I’m wrong, of course.
Anyway, considering that Fantasia was all “I’m pregnant, y’all, hater gonna hate” in her announcement video, I wondered exactly what was the state of Antwaun and Paula Cook’s marriage. As it turns out, they still aren’t divorced yet, according to Radar. Sigh… ‘Tasia really needs to quit that man.
Former American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino is pregnant by her boyfriend Antwaun Cook, but RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned he’s still married to his ex!
Fantasia made headlines when she got Antwaun’s last name tattooed on her shoulder and first stepped out with the married man, but now that she’s pregnant by him, it’s adding to the heartache for Antwaun’s wife, Paula Cook.
The 27-year-old singer announced her pregnancy over the weekend during her Jacksonville, Florida, concert and although she didn’t say who the father is, RadarOnline.com can confirm it is in fact Antwaun.
“Antwaun told Paula that Fantasia was pregnant early on,” a source close to the situation told RadarOnline.com. “He wanted her to hear it from him before word got out in the press. Paula was really hurt when he left her for Fantasia, so it’s like the knife that was already in her back is being twisted now.”
RadarOnline.com has learned that Antwaun and Paula are set to meet in a North Carolina courthouse on Wednesday, August 10 to try and sort out their accurate date of separation. Antwaun maintains the two were already separated when he started dating Fantasia, while Paula insists he cheated on her.
The separated lovers were in court last year for the same thing and a judge found in favor of Antwaun, but their legal issues have started all over again because the original judge had to recuse herself.
While in court last November, Fantasia took the stand and admitted not only to having been pregnant by Antwaun, but then aborting the unborn child.
Fantasia has a nine-year-old daughter from a previous relationship and this will be her first child with Antwaun.

The thing about Paula and Antwaun’s marriage is that they really were still together when he started up with Fantasia. Like, Antwaun was still living in the same home as Paula, and Fantasia would call up and harass Paula when Antwaun wasn’t around. Reportedly, Fantasia would demand that Paula leave Antwaun and that she (Fanny) was the only one who could make Antwaun happy. So even if Antwaun began the affair with Fantasia under false pretenses, as the affair went on, Fantasia knew exactly what was going on.

I think American Idol should consider doing some kind of competency evaluation before they put some of these singers on television and make them a ‘star.’
This story is really confusing. So let me get this right. This man Fantasia is seeing is married but he is the process of getting a divorce a right? The man also says he was separated from his wife when he started seeing fantasia and now Fantasia is pregnant but thats wrong for some reason? Clearly He and Fantasia are dating, right? So whats the big deal. I don’t get this.

@Katie Fantasia never had a 15 minute clock of fame because (despite the fact that I don’t particularly care for her music) she does have a large fan base and is a good performer and has a lot of talent. As far as her situation, Karma is going to bite her in the ass. Well hell, it already has. I don’t see how she can get all upset over this MARRIED man, nearly kill herself over him (leaving her innocent daughter Zion motherless!), get an abortion only to get pregnant not even a year later! What was the point of her 1st abortion, then? Her self-esteem is in the gutter. I am utterly disgusted by this whole situation. I think the hate arises from the fact that she testified that she did indeed have an affair with this man and aborted their unborn child. Now I believe he and his wife are seperated, so her getting pregnant is not as shocking…..but his wife has every reason to be hurt and Fanny is a mess regardless, I feel sorry for her daughter in all of this mess.

I think it originally started off that they were NOT in the process of divorce, maybe having problems, but they were still living together and still married. I’m pretty sure that if they weren’t LEGALLY separated at the time (and instead were like, “psh you are pissing me off, we are separating”) then he did cheat on his wife. Legal separation would be completely different. I’m too lazy to look up if they were legally separated or not…bleh.
Anywhozzle- I think a few things make people upset about this:
1. She harassed the wife. It sucks enough that your marriage is going down the drain (whether you know it 100% or not)….why do you have to deal with the drama of having the jump off calling you, screaming at you, and making your life hell? Bleh.
2. She “attempted suicide” while she was pregnant the first time around with his child. I put that in quotes because she took aspirin and some sleep medication and immediately called her friend who was like, down the block. That’s not a real attempt. That’s a cry for help/attention/something…but taking aspirin? No. (I know this because we have to talk about the SLAP method of assessing suicidality in class all. the. time.) So anyways, she was pregnant and then did that….and then aborted the baby. She tried denying that or something (or maybe didn’t come out with it until after someone questioned her about the timeline of events, IDK).
To summarize- it’s a super sketchy situation and it makes everyone look like shit in this ordeal. She’s getting the brunt of the blame because she is responsible for not only herself but her unborn child and I’m assuming that really, really pisses people off that she is acting careless.

Well, sound like a sketchy situation all around. I’m not defending anyone here, BUT it sounds like this dude is publicly separated from his wife even if he is still technically, legally married to her. Divorces aren’t always quickly obtained. Also, I really feel like an abortion is a personal, private matter and we shouldn’t be discussing it.
I have no hate for this sad girl, but I just don’t get the appeal. What a mess. I feel so sorry for the families who are getting tangled up in it, but considering this is taking place in North Carolina, the outcome of this situation could get even more interesting.
I’m from NC and remember when a woman received a _ton_ of press for suing the alleged mistress that caused her divorce and won a sum of about 9 million dollars. I believe the case is still in appeals, but thanks to an old state law, this woman could be cleaning up big.
If it’s found that Fantasia caused the termination of their marriage (which it sounds like it did) she could end up going sued because of alienation of affection.
