Justin Theroux bid $450K on a painting & Jennifer Aniston bought it

fp_7908189_aniston_jennifer_cjny_32_35

As I mentioned last week, on Thursday night, Justin Theroux and Jennifer Aniston (JustJen) went to a charity auction of artwork donated to benefit Haiti. As it turns out, it was actually a double-date for JustJen, as they seemed to spend the evening with Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor. Ben and Jennifer know each other from Along Came Polly – and Ben and Justin know each other from Tropic Thunder. Basically, everybody has been friends for years. So, this is what went down at the auction: Justin Theroux “bought” Jennifer a piece of art that she wanted. Only he didn’t buy anything. He just made a huge bid on a (probably already over-valued) painting, and Jennifer had to pay. But here’s how that story gets twisted into “Justin is such a gentleman, he bid on a painting for his lady!”

He bids, she buys! Jennifer Aniston was the winning buyer at Christie’s glitzy “Artists for Haiti” auction in NYC on Thursday — where beau Justin Theroux did the bidding on her behalf.

Actor-screenwriter Theroux, 40, helped his love, 42, snag American artist Glenn Ligon’s “Stranger #44,” an abstract 2011 work of oil, charcoal and graphite on canvas that seems to match his downtown hipster tastes.

At the auction, “Stranger #44″ (pictured with artist Glenn Ligon and Thelma Golden, Director and Chief Curator of The Studio Museum in Harlem) was estimated at $150,000 to $200,000.

But Aniston helped shatter the record for sales of Ligon’s work, spending a whopping $450,000 on the 72″ by 60” painting, an Artists for Haiti rep confirms to Us.

Reports Artinfo.com: “Aniston, who was in the room, clapped enthusiastically after [Theroux’s] winning bid.”

Benefiting health and education initiatives for Haiti, The “Artists for Haiti” auction — artists donated their works for the cause — was co-organized by Ben Stiller, and raised $13,662,000.

After the auction, Stiller, 40, and his wife Christine Taylor hung out with Theroux and Aniston for a late dinner at Il Cantinori. “They seemed to be having a lot of fun with Ben and his wife, like old friends,” a witness said. “Ben paid for everyone,” the witness adds.

Stiller co-starred in Along Came Polly with Aniston and co-wrote Tropic Thunder with Theroux.

[From Us Weekly]

I guess we should assume that Jennifer really wanted this piece of art, and that she was simply too much of a poor little VICTIM to bid on it herself? Because I imagine the fun of bidding on a piece of art is really stressful and victim-making, and that’s why Justin had to ride in on his stead and raise his hand over and over for the painting, like a gentleman? I don’t even know. Maybe she bought it for him, and she just let her boy-toy pick out the piece that he wanted and she got it for him like an attentive sugar-mama? I’m not trying to say Justin isn’t successful – he is. He does very well for himself as a character actor and screenwriter. But I doubt he has $450K to blow on a piece of art, which is why Aniston was there to purchase it. I guess what I’m saying is… he must be great in bed.

I love how Jen “morphs” into the men she dates. When she was with Brad she was surfer chick cute.

When she was with John Mayer, just like him it was all cargo pants and photograpy.

Now with Justin it is all black leather and hipster art and living in NYC.

It is a shame she can’t have her own personality. Maybe that is why she plays the same character over and over. It is all she knows.

  2. Canuck says:

It was a charity auction. She had probably decided how much she was going to give/spend and then chose a painting to drop that amount on. So what if she let Theroux do the actual bidding?

  3. Paloma says:

This romance will run its course; I predict either sometime after the holiday, maybe around March; or, 2.5 years at the most.

  4. Hellen says:

Yep, she’s a dating chameleon. Pathetic.

  5. Skins says:

    Wow, they are so HIP!

  6. po says:

Would this even be a conversation if the male star bought the painting for a female, successful, working actress?

  7. Cheyenne says:

Something about this guy screams “user” to me.

  8. mln76 says:

Ha let’s not kid ourselves she’s a Sugar Mama that’s what lured him away from Heidi. He’s rich by normal standards but he doesn’t have Hollywood money to spend on 13 grand jackets or 450k paintings. At least this went to a good cause.

  9. Canuck says:

You don’t think someone worth $10 million can afford to drop 13K on a jacket? Really?

  10. skinanny says:

I hope when this is over, she will get custody of the painting!

  11. it is! says:

No, what you continually keep saying is she is a victim! Why? It seems the only people using the word victim are the J/P fans. Let it go!

  12. just a patsy says:

She CAN buy love. These PR puff pieces are the worst.

P.S. This is “charity” like partying in Cabo benefits Mexican orphans. She’s completely removed from the actual cause, but at least 200k will go to the cause (minus at least 1/2 for Christie’s auction house and staff, minus for the artists commission.)

  13. Cali says:

I really LOVE them together she looks so happy and he always seem to be looking out for her and not to mention he is very hot =D Go Jen!!!

  14. svetlana says:

I do suspect that he’s fantastic in the sack. I think it’s the brooding, intense vibe, and the occasionally wild eyes.

So she let him bid on her behalf at a charity auction. I’m sure they discussed the piece and how much she wanted to drop for the cause. No chivalry or victimhood, just sharing the fun. I’m not seeing what the big deal is. Meh.

  15. Mia says:

Wauw – there is just a lot of hate for Aniston here on CB!

  16. Joanna says:

If I was buying a painting for myself, I would let my bf do the bidding for me. That way, it would be fun for him too, even though I’m buying it for me. I think that’s what Jen did. At her age, I think she has more sense than to buy a boyfriend. She’s not that desperate!

  17. mln76 says:

@ Canuck IF he is worth 10 mill sure he can indulge in a few pleasantries but he doesn’t have the same buying power as Aniston worth 150 mill. So while I do think he could splurge here and there and live a life of comfort there is a HUGE difference. If he bought himself a 13 grand jacket one month and a 450 k painting the next and rented a 27 k for a year and kept making similiar purchases with no work in sight he’d run through his money pretty quickly. Aniston never has to work again unless she pulls a Nic Cage.

  18. Joanna says:

I don’t see why everyone keeps having a pity party for her b/c she doesn’t have a spouse. Neither does Clooney and he seems to be doing all right!

  19. Cheyenne says:

Joanna: At her age, I think she has more sense than to buy a boyfriend. She’s not that desperate!
    ============================================

Anyone who goes crawling back to John Mayer after getting publicly kicked to the curb by him, only to get dumped again, is the walking definition of desperation.

You’d really let your boyfriend do the bidding for you? You’re not grown up enough to handle it yourself?

  20. Turtle Dove says:

I’ve bid at auctions before and it’s kind of awkward. I don’t like the attention of people swiveling to look at you when you raise your paddle or call a bid. Maybe that’s just me. It’s fun to go, but I don’t like the attention too…. contradiction I know, but….

Justin has money and he could more than afford the painting. I think it’s nice that he bid for Jen. Like I said, I find it awkward, so maybe Jen does too.

As far as her style goes… mine is constantly changing. This year is jeans, boots and leather jackets. Last year, soft wool slacks and cashmere sweaters. The year before skirts, kitten heels, etc. People’s styles change. It’s not a big deal.

  21. Joanna says:

So mln76,she can only find a man who wants her for her money? He can’t be in it for love?

  22. Becky says:

I’m not a fan of the aging hipster look. Both of them are very attractive people but they look ridiculous in their “his and hers” want to be hipster outfits. They look like they are wearing costumes (although I like JA’s dress and boots in the one photo).

In terms of the painting, meh. If she wants him to bid on it for her, who cares? If she makes more money than he does, who cares? I agree with the poster who commented that it wouldn’t be an issue if the roles were reversed.

  23. mln76 says:

@Joana I am not going to claim I know why he’s in it. But looking at all the coin she’s dropped to be with him so far and it’s only been a few months. An apt in NY, the ‘gifts’, the painting that he bid on (meaning he wanted it) and the home in LA along with the vacation in Hawaii with a charted private plane. She’s the Sugar Mama in the situation. Maybe she feels empowered by it and maybe he likes feeling taken care of but it’s blatant that he couldn’t afford her lifestyle on his income which is less than a tenth of hers.

  24. Canuck says:

Of course he doesn’t have the same buying power. That said, Jen would be hard pressed to find many men at all with the same buying power as she does, never mind one she wants to have a relationship with. I doubt that ANY of the guys she’s dated since Pitt had the same buying power, and even when she was with Pitt, HE actually came out and said that she made more than he did. So what, she’s supposed to remain single forever bcause she’s rich? Is she supposed to not live how she wants to because the guy can’t pay for everything that she can? That’s a bit silly.

She bought a painting for herself (why are you assuming it’s a gift for him?), probably for her new apartment in NYC and let Justin do the bidding. The charity got $450,000, twice or three times the estimated value. Most of the other paintings in the auction went for 2 or 3 times their estimates as well. I’m sure that the artists are pleased, Stiller is pleased and the Haitians who benefit from the proceeds will be pleased. Yet it’s absolutely necessary to find something negative to say?

  25. madax says:

According to the art blog that covered the event, not the tabloids, Theroux actually bought the painting while Aniston cheered him on. He made at least another million from writing Iron Man 2 and another million for Rock of Ages. For creating, co-writing and co-producing Topic Thunder he made at least $15 million.

  26. Alix says:

She donated to Haiti, good on her. But Lordy, she is just about the dullest celebrity out there. Moderately talented, looks good for her age — other than that, don’t see the appeal. At all.

  27. Layla says:

@po my thoughts exactly. So a woman can’t date a poorer man? Are we at this now?

  28. Lucky Charm says:

Well, it looks like she’s finally making good on her promise to donate half a million dollars to Haiti. Now she just needs $50,000 more to fulfill that promise she made a year and a half ago…

  29. Cherry Rose says:

I am an Angelina fan (don’t care too much for Brad), and yes, sometimes I like to snark on Jennnifer, but really people.

I think they’re a cute couple. I think this is the happiest I’ve seen Jennifer Aniston is a long time, and unlike the other guys she’s dated, this one she seems to be really relaxed in. Same goes for Justin.

Plus, she’s been pretty quiet about this whole relationship. Other than being papped, she has yet to talk about Justin in any interviews (though if I’m wrong, let me know).

  30. kay says:

Perhaps Bedhead or CB should write about JA/BP/AJ in the future?

There is so much bitterness in this thread it’s unpleasant to read through.

So he bid and she bought? and, so what?

  31. nan says:

OMG!!! That picture of JT with the helmet covering his bobblehead!!! Now I can actually measure the height of his forehead….the height of a helmet! The pity-party homewrecker and the bobblehead. Too much!!!

  32. mln76 says:

It’s funny how defensive some are getting. Either way the point is Justin couldn’t afford to buy the painting. Kind of reminds me of the type of guy who can’t afford to pay for a fancy dinner but insists on ordering and handing her credit card to the waiter.

  33. Canuck says:

@mln: Which part of “bid on her behalf” is confusing?

  34. Heather M (Heather) says:

I suspect she had him bid because: 1) the dynamic in their relationship is that she let’s him be “the man,” probably because she tends to emasculate men due to her fame/fortune so she knows enough to give his ego a break by doing this, and 2) she may have thought she would get it cheaper if he bid for her because people know how much money she has and would have gotten more excited bidding against her. I actually tend to think it’s more of the latter.

My ex was well known and would try to get home improvement bids via telephone (and fake name) because once people knew who he was the prices would skyrocket. He
also had an assistant do bidding in auctions for the same reason.

Justin wrote Iron Man II. He’s doing fine financially, no doubt.

  35. Mila says:

I don’t know whats wrong and why so much hate towards this woman. She bought it for charity, it was donation for Haiti. Read the article.
    People move on…..

  36. Cheyenne says:

@mln: You’re wrong there. Justin could afford to buy the painting. He’d just rather spend her money than his.

  37. Runs with Scissors says:

    TABLOID FAME- check
    EXPENSIVE GIFTS- check
    NEW DIGS- check
    EXPENSIVE VACATIONS- check
    CAA REPRESENTATION- check

She is a CASH COW and he is milking her for all she’s worth.

I guess it’s only fair, as she’s been milking Brad and Jolie for 7 years and counting, lol!

  38. mln76 says:

Canuck my reading comprehension is just fine thanks 🙂
No matter how you read the article or who the painting is for Justin couldn’t afford it. He ordered for her but didn’t pay. I don’t see where the chivalry is in that situation. But I am not gonna judge if like Madonna and Ellen Barkin and other successful women of a certain age she’s happy in a Sugar Mama situation. It’s obviously not sitting well with her conservative fans who are in a bit of denial about it.

  39. Chloe (not chloe) says:

Jennifer has *always* been known as an art& architecture lover, after all.

    /sarcasm off

  40. Canuck says:

She wanted to buy it and had him bid on it for her on her behalf (aka acting as an agent for her), why WOULD he pay? I don’t get why you think he should pay for something she wanted to buy and chose to buy for herself? Where does chivalry even enter into that? Maybe he was chivalrous and carried it to the car for her, since it was 3′ x 4′.

You take a friend car shopping with you and let that friend negotiate with the salesman for you either because they are better at it, or they like doing it. Is that friend then supposed to pay for your car?

  41. WhiteNoise says:

On this one, I find myself in full agreement with Canuck, particularly the 2nd par (@ 12:35). Even as an ‘indifferent’, I really don’t get the need to dump on every single thing that JA does. If this were ‘those other people’, it would be regarded as some grand philanthropic gesture and no one would give a crap about who did the bidding and who did the paying.

  42. ennie says:

probably when she was with grip boy, the model and some others she paid too, so it is not a new. situation for her. She likes fancy stuff, so pay for it. she has not only her Friends money, but all the money she got from her divorce too.
Not everyone can get her own billionaire like Salma or maybe she should go after a rich producer or actor like James Cameron, Leo DiCaprio (well, he likes his young), or Tod phillips, no matter if they are ina relationship, that’s not important.
But we know she likes her bad boys.

  43. DarkEmpress says:

I am glad the money went to charity because I googled the painting, and there is no way that much money should go to the artist.

Im not a JA fan but he seems to be into her enough to go about town holding her hands and putting his arm around her, although he could have shared the umbrella. Hopefully this relationship is the real deal.

  44. truthSF says:

    @mln76

Jennifer Aniston is worth $110 million, not $150 million.

And just because you’re worth a certain amount of money, doesn’t mean you actually have that exact amount in your bank account. It just means all of your property, all of your paychecks you received during your entire career before taxes and investments are worth that much. I doubt Jennifer has more than $50 million dollars in cash to her name. Which is why she does 3 movies a year.

The same goes for every other celebrity.

  45. Chloe (not chloe) says:

    @White Noise,

No-one is denying the great cause the money’s going to serve.

We’re just gossiping about the relationship dynamics and the presumed character of people we don’t know. Which is what gossip sites are for;)

  46. annachristoff says:

It isn’t so much whether he bought it or she did, it is that , like another poster said above, there is a vibe about him that isn’t right. He looks constantly pained, moody, almost guilty -looking and like he feels others know he is putting on some kind of act. He does not seem in the least bit affectionate or happy around her. Yes, it could be a sense of privacy and introspective nature, but something here does scream “climber”. And she seems horribly insecure–the dress style confirms that

  47. wresa says:

ZOMG he placed a bid for her!! Then she paid for it! Then took the painting home! What could it all mean?!?!?!

I mean, she was clapping at the auction, its not like she was trying to keep it a secret. And don’t forget, this is for charity, so she likely would not have paid that much otherwise.

ZOMG a woman makes more than the man in the relationship!!! Unacceptable!!!!

  48. mln76 says:

@truthSF didn’t know the exact number off the top of my head. I’m sure you are right goes to show the same about Justin worth 10 mil on paper but less in liquid assets so no he probably couldn’t afford to shill out half a mill in a night.

and one last time I DON’T THINK THERE IS ANYTHING WRONG WITH JEN PAYING but I don’t think there is anything wrong with gossiping about it…. Just like I would about Madonna, or Clooney.

  49. Zzzzzzzzz says:

Her “new look” to match with the new man is… interesting.

  50. Cheyenne says:

@Runs with Scissors: Co-sign. This guy comes off like a gigolo. But maybe she feels a gigolo is better than nothing.

@Canuck: When Theroux dumps Aniston, are you going to go into another frenzy and tell everybody he’s gay?

  51. Heine says:

She went to a charity auction and bought a painting. He bid on it for her. That’s it-the end.

Why is there this need to bring in something sinister? He has plenty of his own money. Not her level of money, obviously-there are very few people on this planet as wealthy as she. But he is no poor man. Some of you are acting like she’s taken in some bum off the street.

mln76: The apartment in NY is hers. They are renting the house together which may mean they are each getting half the rent (or one paying one month the other paying the next). Chartering a private plane isn’t THAT expensive when you are a millionaire. And vacations are not that expensive. I don’t know if you thought they spent millions on that vacation but that would be really difficult to do. Do you think he’s just some joe schmo making $34,000 a year at his plumbing job?

I really do not understand this “find something, ANYTHING negative” to say vibe.

  52. Jen D says:

Theroux co-wrote Tropic Thunder? Ok, my respect for him went up a bit, even if I hate the way he dresses.

  53. mln76 says:

@madax do you have a link? It’s a matter of public record who paid…so if that story is correct he picked it she paid. Then a story was spinner to the tabs.

@heine there are different levels of rich . You or I would think if 10 mill as insanely wealthy but its not the same as 100 million and that’s not the same as billions in the bank. As has been stated already He can’t access his whole net worth. So logically speaking since he’s not working Aniston’s paying. For intsance a rented home for 27 k for a year would be about 3 mill do you guys think he’d blow a third of his wealth on a rented home? Factor in that he can’t touch all the 10 mill plus they are looking at houses in LA. He simply put can’t be making enough money to keep up with her lifestyle it’s basic math.

  54. StrawberryGirl says:

I’m worn out from reading this thread!

I don’t care whether he bought it or she bought it. A LOT of money was made for charity.

I’m always baffled by people who attack others for doing great things. I mean, everyone who is attacking Justin or Jennifer, what action(s) have you taken to help someone in need?

  55. Bill Hicks is God says:

Let’s get real for a minute: Brad Pitt “morphed” into every woman he’s dated.

(“…And the award for outstanding performance by a ball-less wonder in a supporting role: Brad Pitt for ‘Gwyneth Paltrow'”).

At least Theroux runs a comb through his hair and doesn’t look like he needs to shampoo his goatee with RID and Aniston isn’t a PEZ dispenser in a burlap sack.

She asked him to bid for her. So. What.

I did say months back that I wouldn’t post any more about Aniston because she bugs me worse than an itchy shirt tag but honestly, the Relationship Fail Vultures just won’t quit circling.

Maybe she’s finally having fun and doesn’t give a flying toss about Pitt’s high school remarks that just make him and his situation look all the more pathetic in comparison. He does not strike me as a happy man…

  56. mln76 says:

Noticed I made a mistake in math only 350,000 or so to rent the home in LA so I’ll concede he could be paying . I still don’t see how any of this is an attack check out the Ellen Barkin or Madonna threads.

  57. WhiteNoise says:

The ridiculous thing is that almost no matter who JA hooks up with, the reality is that she will be the insanely wealthy one. That’s just the way it is. It doesn’t make the guy a user or kept, it just makes him someone she’s enjoying sharing her wealth with. Although not a fan, I kind of like them together, he makes a nice change from her previous hook-ups and they look fairly chilled and happy in most pics I’ve seen of them. She also looks a lot less uptight and image conscious than the shallow LA version of her which helps me even like her a small bit.

  58. Kloops says:

Don’t like the aging hipster douche look, but whatever, guess the mascinator is his “thing”. Other than that, they are totally bland and obviously perfect for each other. Good on them. Didn’t think there was anything weird about the auction. She likes to take care of her man. So what?

  59. Sandra says:

Why does she still dress like it’s 1998?

  60. Evie (not Eve) says:

There seems to be a but of projecting going on. How is he getting portrayed as a gentleman (or she as a victim) in the US piece? She let him wave the paddle (I’m sure with a predetermined limit) for funsies and she got a piece of art for her new place and a tax deduction. No codes of chivalry need be invoked.

  61. Victoria says:

I think he looks like an idiot in those leather pants. No 40 year or almost 40 year old male should ever do that in public. Ever. But he does look ten times better since Chin gave him a make over.

I hope that he wifes her and gives the babies that she totally wants to have. Maybe then the “victim card” will finally be put to rest in the tabs.

  62. Madison says:

Who cares who bid and who paid for it $450k went to charity, good for them and great for the charity.

  63. Canuck says:

@Cheyenne: No, maybe I’ll wait 6 years until he has a movie to promote and drags his past relationship with her up in an interiew to do that.

  64. Cheyenne says:

@Victoria: “Victim” of what? She’s not a victim of anything but her own spite and stupidity. If she had kept her mouth shut and not gone whining off to Vanity Fair in that maudlin interview, nobody would have started calling her a victim.

  65. lolas says:

does she look pregnant to anyone? The picture of her in the jeans — I feel like she’s looking a bit rounder than she would normally let herself look. It could be just me. For some reason I really want her to be pregnant.

  66. Canuck says:

    http://www.artinfo.com/news/story/38694/ben-stiller-and-david-zwirner-exult-as-christies-star-packed-artists-for-haiti-sale-tops-13-million/?page=1

So, all of the artwork was donated. Christies waived their buyer’s premium fees. And the IRS will give tax benefits to any American buyers for the amount they paid over the highest estimated price or fair market value.

Says it was Theroux who bought the painting, not Aniston. Doesn’t say how they know that though.

End result is that basically the whole 13.6 million goes to charity efforts. Way to go Stiller!

  67. Cheyenne says:

lolas: For some reason I really want her to be pregnant.
    =============================================

Why? I wouldn’t want anyone to be pregnant unless THEY want to be pregnant.

  68. Rudypatudie says:

There is something sexy about him. He seems in control, and masculine and protective.

Like he’s always watching out for her and taking care of her.

  69. Canuck says:

@truthSF: Your worth means what your assets are worth, minus your debts. It’s got nothing to do with adding up all of your paychecks over your career. Otherwise Nick Cage never woud have gone bankrupt.

  70. Runs with Scissors says:

Ha! He was totally grandstanding, then sticks her with the bill.

This guy is all about himself. Jennypoo better get used to it.

This guy is going to cost her in more ways than just the huge backlash brewing against her because of her monumental hypocrisy.

He’s not going to want to lose his cash cow till she’s good and milked. Once she’s dried up, he’ll move on to greener pastures in 3, 2,

  71. Ell says:

Sad the focus of this story isn’t the money raised for Haiti.

I’m glad it’s still a cause that so many celebrities give to, there is still so much to be done there.

Oh…and good for her for giving again to the fund.

  72. Lalala says:

I agree with Cherry Rose. I’ve always preferred AJ to JA but this post is gratuitously nasty and so are a lot of the comments.

  73. Iggles says:

    Omg! Kaiser you rocks!

I’m loving the umbrella pictures and the dripping sarcasm in your commentary 😀

Seriously? Like, wth??? How, how did someone think they could spin Jen footing the bill as Justin is her masculine, heroic savior?

Wow. And he didn’t contribute to dinner either! The article noted that Ben footed the bill!

Come on! We know Jen has bank, but there’s no reason Justin shouldn’t try to court her. He seems all about himself. The umbrella pictures show his priorities!

  74. PennyBall says:

    @ 12 Just a Patsy

“(minus at least 1/2 for Christie’s auction house and staff, minus for the artists commission.)”

FYI – Christie’s waived its fees, and I believe all of the artists donated these works (some were made specifically for this auction). Ben Stiller and his folks put together a nice charity event.

  75. Cheyenne says:

@Sandra: 1998 is where her head is stuck at. She can’t get past being Rachel.

  76. Poppy says:

@Just a patsy, I know a little about the auction world and this was a charity auction, Christies doesn’t take commission on charity auctions, they do charge expenses/wages but that’s it and usually print and donate the catalogues (which also raise money for the charity ) plus rounding up the potential buyers/high rollers through their network, without Christies know how and contacts the paintings would have sold for less than half the price they raised on the night.

As for the price of the painting, most of the 27 lots sold for two or three times their asking price so there was a buying frenzy all round on the evening.

As for Jens generous ‘donation’ let’s not forget she now owns a painting worth $450k, which will probably double in value over the next 5 to 10years so really she will make money on the donation. Ben Stiller knows quite a lot about the art world so he probably advised her on which artist to buy.

The online catalogue for the sale can be found here
    http://www.christies.com/LotFinder/searchresults.aspx?intSaleID=23623#action=refine&intSaleID=23623&sid=469383b7-7981-4478-9ea1-559e11a41058

The strangest thing for me is that I thought she didn’t like contemporary art very much, I recall several interview where she took jabs at Brad and his Modern Art addiction, she essentially said she was glad he wasn’t in the house anymore because she could buy sofas you could actually sit on and cheerful paintings.

  77. Camille says:

    lol Kaiser, you nailed it.

As for this couple, I find them hilarious to look at, especially those umbrella pics lol. They look ridiculous.
And since I will get jumped on by the Jeniloonies for that comment, I had better add that it is ONLY my opinion. 😉

  78. Toshie says:

Seriously, I don’t care about any of this, but wow that is one stupid helmet. What other man anywhere, ever, at that age or any age wears something like that? I’m going to be giggling all day.

  79. Cheyenne says:

@#64: Good Lord, Canuck, can you post ANYTHING without referencing Brad Pitt? You’ve got the worst hard-on for that guy. You have got to get over this unhealthy obsession of yours. Go take a cold shower or something.

  80. Deltona lakes says:

    @iggles
I can’t get over the umbrella photos either..and for crying sake he’s wearing a hat.. He couldn’t at least share.

  81. flan says:

Glad she finally spent some money on charity. Would be nice if she did something for her own country as well, where she made a lot of her money.

  82. Isa says:

    Anyway….

I hate her new style. Jennifer always bores me on the red carpet, especially with her fondness for black dresses. But out and about I normally find something I like. Maybe some great boots or jeans. A pretty scarf. Now, nothing!

  83. Ell says:

@flan before making such disparaging remarks, best to check your facts. She supports many american charities.

The whole tone of this story and many of the comments are so spiteful and nasty. It shameful when the subject is giving to Haiti. Hope you people feel proud.

  84. Deltona lakes says:

    @#79
Two years ago JA was putting together a charity event to help Haiti.. Guess what it never happened..JA has been quoted” charity is not my thing”.. The best one ” I help Mexico with it’s economy by vacationing there” I guess it’s better late than never. oh forgot the perfume sales donation $1 will go to charity for every perfume bottle sold. not even 10% like most celebities.. Price range $40-$70.

  85. Leticia says:

He must be short, because she is short, and they are wearing the same size heel on their boots, and he is barely taller than her.

  86. TabbyCat says:

Me thinks he really really wanted the painting and bid on it to show Aniston he really wanted it, to guilt her into buying it for him.
To Ell, did any of you guys think that perhaps this is ‘turnabout is fair play’, and tit-for-tat? That if the Jenloonies didn’t post nasty a spiteful comments on Brad and Angelina threads, then we wouldn’t return kind? Look at the blow-up over Pitt’s comments, when said NOTHING AT ALL derogatory about Aniston. What a MASSSIVE over-reaction! The guy did NOTHING wrong at all, whatsoever! He certainly didn’t deserve any of that. Start looking at what the Aniston side does, before being outraged at Brad/Angelina fans returning fire with fire. If Team Aniston who started this left Brad and Angelina alone, we’d leave Jen alone. Its as simple as that.

  87. @prue says:

    Well, what next?

  88. Lucy says:

He looks like special ed in that helmut…

  89. Cheyenne says:

@Deltona: Whatever happened to that perfume? I have never seen a single bottle in any store in NYC.

  90. Kara Ann says:

I’m always surprised how much people want to shove this woman into a certain configuration and then hate on her for it.
WFT? She’s not your cup of tea? Okay. But I imagine that she is not that much different (and possibly much better) than 80 or 90% of the actresses out there. The main thing people seem to hate her for is not being Angelina Jolie-esque. Well, that why there’s an Angelina Jolie. Like Brad Pitt, some prefer AJ. Okay, that’s fine but why hate on JA? She married Brad Pitt once upon a time. That’s really all she has ever done to make AJ fans hate her. She was BP’s wife and that made AJ and BP look bad whether or not they had an official physical affair or not. It just looks bad on them. That’s their fault, not hers.
Just WOW on the amount of derision and mean-spiritedness that woman generates by existing.

  91. Vesper says:

When I look at the pics above I do not see a happy couple. Neither Theroux or Aniston is smiling and although they are touching in some of the pics, both seem disconnected. I see no chemistry or passion that one would expect in a new relationship. Neither seems relaxed. I also think the pics indicate that Theroux is the dominant one in the relationship and Aniston is just kind of lagging behind. Hogging the umbrella is just pathetic, what man in love does that? Chivalry is definitely dead in that pic. I suspect that Theroux is selfish, and narcisstic and the relationship will last as long as Aniston plays by his rules.

As for the change to Aniston’s appearance, I understand people get bored and they try new things, but suddenly changing one’s entire look to mirror their partner screams insecurity. Aniston usually looks very well put together, and she typically wears body hugging clothing and very high heels. I have never seen her photographed wearing baggy, poorly fit jeans, a plain black shirt which appears to be the equivalent of a sweatshirt, a belt with a very large buckle and hiking boots.

I think it will be interesting to see how this relationship unfolds.

  92. loop says:

like no one here never bought a gift for yourself from a boyfriend.

  93. CHRISTIAN_GIRL says:

I don’t believe for a second that he is great in bed.

He was with Heidi Bivens for practically his entire adult life, from 26 yrs (14 yrs), so unless he was cheating on Heidi while they were together all his bedroom knowledge would be limited. He would be lacking in experience with only one lady to speak of. He would know what Heidi likes and not much else. Quit playing like he has game. He doesn’t. He IS a joke though.

The umbrella sharing would pose a serious hair dye dripping problem, hat or no hat. Quit playing that he looks good. He looks made up with dyed jet black hair, greased back to cover the bald spot. Teens clothes to look new and fresh like a rocker/biker when we know Jen does not like bikers.

Screenwiters do not make bank. Nor co-writers, producers and no name actors in the biz for 15+ years unless they are big name oscar winning writers/producers. And still it’s not like a list stars money. So quit playing that he has lots of money. He has lots of Jens money.

This whole thing is funny without BP/AJ entering the picture. Will he be around after Feb. 24 for their movie opening, you know push back and all. Oct 7 opening was one thing, but these added months could be costly, like maybe a $450k painting. Carry on.

  94. Cerulean says:

I’m no Jen fan by any stretch. In fact I think she’s a bad actress in crap movies whose cashed in on her marriage to a bigger star. I think she’s a vapid, selfish, homewrecking, unattractive neurotic hypocrite.

However, she’s earned her money herself. If she wants to buy her lover a painting, she’s worked to be able to do that. If I had her money I’d want to see my mate happy too. She’s crazy for him. That’s easy to see. So she’s dressing more like him. So what. Maybe Justin’s edge is what she is craving. Maybe change or something new. Just like Brad did years ago when he hooked up with
    AJ.

I’m all for a good Jen bashing but only when there’s some merit there.

  95. Emma says:

@11, It Is! … “No, what you continually keep saying is she is a victim! Why? It seems the only people using the word victim are the J/P fans. Let it go!”
    ______________________

Jolie-Pitt fans constantly refer to Jennifer Aniston as a victim because Aniston fans are constantly stating how she deserves to be/find happiness ‘after what she went through’ or ‘after the way she was humiliated’ or ‘after the pain she suffered’. Hey, if Jen acts like a victim and quacks like a victim … she must be a victim.

  96. hmmmm says:

I think she can do better. He seems moody and not fun plus he cheated on his live-in girlfriend of 14 years with Jen. There’s nothing great about this guy and, I don’t know why, but I get the feeling that she’s settling.

I feel bad for her every time I look at the umbrella pictures. Great gentleman, ha?!

    Hope she’s happy.

  97. kibbles says:

I can’t wait for these two to break up. So annoying. This guy is a grade A selfish douchebag. No amount of manscaping and makeovers paid by Aniston will change him on the inside. He left his long time girlfriend for the same reason Jessica Seinfeld left her new husband for Jerry. Follow the $$$$$$$$, folks. And I find the umbrella pics hilarious.

  98. Cheyenne says:

    *Checking umbrella pics*

Yo, Justin — you’re supposed to hold the umbrella over HER, schmuck! Didn’t your mother teach you any manners?

Definitely agree with Vesper about her insecurity. And I think that is what is going to kill this relationship eventually. Insecurity is not attractive, especially in a 42 year old woman.

  99. TabbyCat says:

I have to laugh at the sheer irony and cheek of ShayKay’s Jenloonie spiel. Especially since they insinuate Aniston has been tactful. On what planet? Certainly not on Earth, thats for sure! NOTHING Aniston has said has been ‘tactful’. She has been nasty and bitter for 7 years. As far as manipulative, Aniston has had that title for 7 years, too. After all, she has manipulated this vendetta against Brad and Angelina in conjuction with the media and her fans, for 7 years. She is a conniving, scheming, malicious manipulative b1tch. And after 7 years of Brad and Angelina being respectfully silent in the face on Aniston’s campaign of lies, smear and manipulations she has waged, Brad says ONE thing in 7 years, that wasn’t even an attack on Aniston. I think after watching Aniston for 7 years manipulate this vendetta, he really should blow that evil spiteful b1tch out of the water and call her out on her stuff and expose her for who and what she truly is. Aniston crossed a line lone ago when she dragged Handler and the kids into it, and I’d love nothing more than that scheming manipulative soulless b1tch to be outed to her brainwashed fans and exposed once and for all. Its time Brad fought back. For his children’s sake.

  100. nymz says:

Personally I would find it interesting to get some information about yourself, Celebitchy. Your life and experiences. You seem to live an exciting life, overseas – with your kids? What masters degree do you have? How come you started this blog? Please, let us know!

  101. Canuck says:

@Poppy: re: Modern Art. She took jabs at his furniture collection, not the artwork on the walls I think. I can’t say I blame her, some of it is/was atrocious and no, there’s no way you can sit on it. http://www.pipefinepatiofurniture.com/blog/casual-furniture/furniture-sales-slow-dont-blame-brad-pitt

I actually suspect that she may have been the one who turned Pitt onto art, if Gwynnie hadn’t already done so. I don’t know if you saw the AD cover with the house she just sold or not. The painting in the background http://www.christies.com/lotfinder/lot_details.aspx?intObjectID=5147479
was Jen buying art for Jen, period.

Also, she apparently had one of her own paintings exposed at the Met when she was 11.

  102. Raven Sparrow says:

    @Deltona lakes
actually it’s for every “like” on facebook, 1 dollar goes to charity.

    http://www.anistonavenue.com/images/potw619.jpg

  103. Poppy says:

@Canuck, or anyone who is a major fan of Jen’s, is she known to be an art collector? Many actors are, Brad has a large collection of Modern Art (Junk?), Hugh Grant buys and sells regularly, Demi owns a few very nice pieces, Spielberg has a huge collection of Norman Rockwell paintings, Farrah Fawcett had quite an important collection which she left to a museum and I believe Ben Stiller has work from many modern artists, not to mention Liz Taylors important paintings that are about to be sold, Tom Hanks is also a known collector, etc.etc.

Is Jen known to be a collector/investor in art? That could explain the seemingly sudden purchase of an expensive piece, but why did the boyfriend do the bidding?

However, Jen having had a piece exhibited at the Met had to do with a school children’s exhibition which happens regularly at the Met and most other museum/galleries around the world, tens of thousands of 11yr olds can say the same thing, it doesn’t make her an artist. If she was I’m sure Huvane would have been shouting it from the roof tops for the past 20years. There have been quite a few actor/artists though, Katherine Hepburn, Gene Hackman, Zero Mostel, Peter Falk, Tony Curtis and Anthony Quinn come to mind, they each could have made a living as an artist.

  104. Addie says:

I agree with everyone saying that all these anti Jennifer comments are just full of real hate and this site is becoming guilty of spreading a form of hate speach on a person THEY DON’T EVEN KNOW PERSONALLY.

To the person who said this is ‘tit fore tat’ — This is very immature and childish. Would Angie ever engage in such things, mind you this being all in her name and for her honor *major eye roll*
I’m a HUGE fan of Angie, for that specific reason—She DOESN’T entertain such “anti Jen” nonsense.

  105. Canuck says:

@Poppy: I have no idea if she collects or just buys a few pieces that she likes and/or that she feels will be a good investment. I suspect the latter, she doesn’t strike me as having the “collector” urge in anything. Not houses which she could easily afford to do, not cars, not jewellery, not Hermes purses like Posh, although she might have a pretty awesome shoe closet. That said, people don’t usually drop the kind of money she does on art without having a fair idea of what they’re doing. If all you want is ambiance pieces on your wall, you don’t drop 1.2 million on it like she did for the piece in the AD cover shot. You’re into investment art at those prices.

As for why Theroux did the bidding? Maybe he’d never been to an auction before and she wanted him to enjoy himself too? Maybe she’s the kind of auction buyer who doesn’t know how to sit on her hands when the price goes too high and Justin is? Maybe the New York artist who painted this is a friend of Theroux’s and it was a nod to both of them? Or maybe as the art blog said, he actually bid on it and bought it himself and the whole “Jen paid for it” is just tabloid BS. Who knows?

As for showing at the Met, no idea how it works there, where I’m at only the contest winners get their pieces up, or at least I haven’t seen otherwise.

  106. Lola says:

Money that would have been better spent on the publicist keeping this medicore looking non working actress relevant.

  107. JulieM says:

Geez, people. Jen scratches her nose and there is a feeding frenzy of criticism. I could not care less for JA, but this visceral hatred for her and questioning the motivation of everything she does is starting to make me like her.

She is no victim and she and Justin look good together. She earned her money and the proceeds from this painting go to a very worthy cause. You don’t have to be a world class art collector to like a painting and buy it. All you need is money.

  108. april says:

    @JulieM: Ditto.

  109. Deltona lakes says:

    @Cheyenne
I never looked for it.. But it was suppose be sold at sephora stores.
Every like on facebook, wouldn’t you buy it to like it.. Or I like it but I’m not paying for it..

  110. champignon says:

a big F… for you Jen. You’re vendetta is @@@@@@

  111. Kimbob says:

I tend to think if it walks like a duck, if it quacks like a duck…then it’s probably a DUCK. That being said, it does appear that Jen’s a sugar Mama. Kinda lame.

  112. marge says:

@apple325: You just took the words out of my mouth/fingers.

Back in the day when she was w/BradPitt, they used to look so much alike

She has deep insecurity issues. Sad for her

Everybody has a friend, sister or a woman very close that will do this same thing, and we all know how those relationships end, regardless if it lasts 6 months or 20 years

  113. mia girl says:

After a week of reading through most comments re: Pitt-Jolie-Anniston I am giving a new name to those who are pretty obsessed/too involved with either side of this TRIANGLE (i.e. Canuck, Cheyenne, etc.).
    TRIHARDS.

Really, the Twihards have nothing on you guys when it comes to one sidedness and fanaticism. And before you say, well, here you are reading all the comments, let me just say that I read the comments from pretty much every post here at Celebitchy. I usually enjoy them, but the pro/anti JA-BP-AJ are by far are the most unsettling and mean-spirited.

  114. Katherine says:

I cannot stop LMAO at the vain attempts to portray this guy as rich or making gobs of money from his film work.

Those who know the industry know that he made nothing like Canuck and others have posted. $15 million??? LOL!!

He shares a writing credit for Tropic Thunder as a novice and is lucky if he made $50k from that. That credit comes courtesty of his friendship with ben Stiller and its uncertain how much he contributed. People at his level are happy just to get a writing credit without any compensation. Even for Ironman 2 I doubt he made over $500K and liely much less. Some of you are delusional about what and who makes big money for writing. Writers are notoriously underpaid and until you have a big name you do not make big money.

The guy owns 2 inexpensive coops combined and has owned them for eons. So while they may be worth around or just under a million together now he sure didn’t pay that. I’m betting his family helped out with the first purchase and you can be sure Heidi contributed to the mortgage through the years as it was her home as well.

I don’t know how much this guy is worth and neither do any of the other posters but I have a more realistic idea of what he might have made from his work – that would be minus all the expenses it takes to stay alive in the industry.

Since one of his apts cost about what this painting cost does anyone really think he paid for it? Please.

  115. jen says:

Radar has a picture of the “painting” lulz!!

  116. WhiteNoise says:

@Mia girl – agree. The investment is pitiful and horrible to read. The fanaticism seems to be so entrenched that the main culprits don’t even seem to realise how much they have in common with each other. It’s not even something you can laugh at, there’s too much anger and hate in it.

You Trihards need to take a long hard look in the mirror.

  117. Canuck says:

    @Katherine: http://www.celebritynetworth.com/richest-celebrities/actors/justin-theroux-net-worth/#

And of course, we all know that what we read on the internet is the gospel truth, don’t we?

@mia: mainly you’ll find that I don’t like bullies. Not those who go after a woman just because she had the misfortune to be married to the guy their idol snagged when she snagged him. There are a fair number of examples of that on this thread. And not those whose response to any comment or remark that doesn’t toe their “official” internal line with derogatory insults and insinuations. Those last, when they get in my face, generally get back whatever it is they’re trying to dish out.

  118. JulieM says:

Mia girl: Trihards! Excellent. You win the thread.

  119. Runs with Scissors says:

@Canuck: yeah, because spending an ENTIRE DAY trying to convince everyone that Brad Pitt must be GAY, GAY, GAY, I TELL YOU!!! isn’t the least bit unhinged, lol!

Talk about “derogatory insults and insinuations,” you huge, floundering hypocrite. 🙂

Demanding that this man and his family and his children and his relationship with Jolie is based on a total lie? Weren’t all of Aniston’s boyfriends called gay once they dumped her? It must be something in the smart water, lol!

  120. Deltona lakes says:

    @cheyenne
I never looked for it but it was suppose to be sold at sephora stores.. It probably didn’t sell too well or you would have heard about it.. Earlier this year Beyonce’s perfume had sales of 3 million in one week at Macy’s.. That received alot of press..
How many Facebook likes did she receive??

  121. Canuck says:

@TheRuns: writing one post because someone asks you your reasoning can hardly be calling “trying to convince” anyone. If I were looking for people to convince, it certainly wouldn’t be here, now would it? But hey, you Brange fans here should be happy, it’s got to be a big change from people calling AJ a manstealing homewrecking wh*re. Brad being gay makes that unlikely.

  122. blonde on the dock says:

Crazy fans of Angelina Jolie hate on Jennifer Aniston because she had the gall to actually be married to Brad Pitt once upon a time.

  123. Linda says:

OMG…could it be that she asked him to place a bid for her?!?! So what if he wrote his name down…it’s not a crime… Could it be that she clapped because she’s happy that she won it?!?! Could it be that she paid more for it because it’s a CHARITY where they raise MONEY?!?! OMG…talk about hating on someone so much that you create these stupid stories…

  124. Cheyenne says:

@Deltona: I really couldn’t tell you because I never check Facebook “likes”.

@Runs with Scissors: The minute Theroux unloads Aniston, Guano will be screaming to the whole world that he’s gay. Just watch.

@Canuck: Is your memory becoming unhinged? Check the most recent Angie thread. You posted over a dozen comments insisting that Brad Pitt is gay. You never gave a shred of evidence for alleging this aside from your irrational FF hatred of all things related to Pitt or Jolie. One of your Canadian compatriots called you out on it because she was concerned you were losing your mind.

  125. Cheyenne says:

@blondie: You could not be more wrong if you tried. Fans of Pitt and Jolie despise Aniston because of the shitstorm she tried to unload on the family after her divorce. She is not the first woman on the planet to get dumped and she won’t be the last but she acted as if the sky was about to fall. “I was shocked! The WORLD was shocked!” Who the fcuk does she think she is? I’ve got news for you — the world has a lot more to be shocked about than some sitcom actress’s crappy divorce. She acts like she’s the center of the universe. No wonder all her men bail on her.

  126. blonde on the dock says:

@Cheyenne: No I’m actually correct. And she didn’t cause a shitstorm. You nutbags keep harping on that one but it’s not true. She made a couple of comments years ago. Big Deal! And if that’s your reasoning for hating on her…..wow! Isn’t it time you got over her divorce? It appears she has.

  127. Kim says:

She couldnt bid herself?? R u kidding me? or is the painting REALLY for him but he doesnt have that kind of cash and convinced her it would look great in “their” home.

  128. Cheyenne says:

@Kim: All you have to do is look at the photo (above) of him holding an umbrella over HIS head while he leaves HER to get wet, and you can see what a total loser this guy is. I could almost feel sorry for her. Almost.

  129. Firecracker says:

What is all that crap hanging off of his belt? Looks ridiculous. Haven’t read all the comments so sorry if someone already commented on this!

  130. Stacia says:

Anyone else notice how he shields the umbrella over himself and not his ladylove.Chivalry where art thou?

And I do notice how she transforms her style to that of the guy’s she’s dating. Weird.

  131. Cerulean says:

The umbrella is over him so the photo op can work. If we can’t see her then the photos are worthless. I wonder which one of them called the paps.

  132. Carolyn says:

Huvane I don’t know where you’re going with promoting this relationship. Are you promoting “relationship Jen” now? Hairstyle Jen, workout Jen, poor-me Jen, America’s sweetheart Jen and homewrecker Jen have all been done. Jen’s still dull and boring. So not interested in what she does or who she’s with. I don’t even care about the love triangle anymore. It’s reached saturation point mate. Let her and Justin fade into the sunset.

  133. Cheyenne says:

@Canuck: You’ve got the nerve to rag on someone for posting a single link after you spent the entire weekend dredging up every blind item you could get your hands on to “prove” Brad Pitt is gay?

    Your hypocrisy reeks.

  134. Deltona lakes says:

Cheyenne I’m sorry my question was meant for raven..
    @raven sparrow
Do you how many face book likes she received for the perfume?

  135. khaveman says:

I think she looks great. She seems happy with him. Who doesn’t take on some characteristics of their mate? Even dressing? Look, it’s been said before, but when in New York, dress in black. It’s chic. I have no criticism of this woman. If she wants to be with him, life is short. Live.

  136. Cheyenne says:

Deltona, I checked FB likes. You can check as well if you want:

87 likes as of 9/26/11. Not exactly a ringing endorsement.

    Your hypocrisy reeks.

This is confusing. Could you kindly quote what Canuck said? It looks as if you misunderstood a lot by just screening and screeching.

  138. Cheyenne says:

@Katyalia: You’ll have to go over to the Brad Pitt thread. It’s all on there.

  139. Pat says:

“She was simply too much of a poor little VICTIM to bid on it” I am still trying to figure out your point here. What exactly does not biding on a painting have to do with being a victim?

I though that the fans of Brad/Angie would be so happy when Jen fell in love and did not care less about Brad. Well it has happened – but the fans are still playing the same game. Jen is happy in love and doing her thing. The bitterness here of the Brad/Angie fans is sad. Move on guys.

Cheyenne as for the “shitstorm” yes she was “shocked” and yes the world was “shocked” because Brad had been telling the press for months that he was happily married and that he wanted little “Jens” and that nothing was going on with his co-star. Jen didn’t cause problems when she said this Brad caused problems when he lied about what was going on. Brad really needs to learn to tell the truth (a recent example that he and Jen are “good friends” – the only difference now is that the press realizes that Brad lies and that they are not “good friends”). I don’t think that many people believe what comes out of Brad’s mouth anymore. Brad caused his own “shitstorm” He should have divorced Jen years ago if he was bored and unhappy.

I think that Jen is happy to be rid of him.

  140. katyalia says:

    @ Cheyenne 11:23:

    * Silent Sobs * Do I?
How do I need to go through a 100+ thread in order to find the reason for your ‘quote’ in this thread? Can’t you just cite what you’re talking about in this very thread where you’re attacking Canuck?

Otherwise you might need to put on a disclaimer.

  141. Poppy says:

Errr…..pardon me Pat, but Brad DID divorce Jen years ago because he was bored and unhappy. It’s only now we are hearing about his unhappiness in the marriage, maybe you mean he should have SAID he was bored and unhappy with Jen years ago. Then maybe we could have avoided all these years of the JA/BP/AJ tabloid wars.

  142. Cheyenne says:

@Pat: I really don’t think the “world” gave a sh*t about Pitt or Aniston or the state of their marriage. Unless by “world” you mean the collection of bitter women who make up the bulk of Aniston’s fan base. I imagine they were quite shocked, but everybody else had more important things to care about.

There’s a big world out there. You should go see it sometime.

Cheyenne: That is a completely random facebook page for Aniston’s perfume. It actually looks like a site that generally shills perfume.

The $1 charity thing was offered through Sephora.com and through their facebook page. Sorry to disappoint.

By the way, if you look at Sephora.com’s bestseller fragances, Jennifer’s perfume is right up there with Viktor and Rolf, Dolce and Gabbana and Vera Wang.

Sorry her perfume isn’t a failure as you so wanted it to be.

how gentlemanly of him to not give her the umbrella, not open the doors for her or wait till she gets out first, face it he’s just ugly and annoying, he was annoying and badly acting on charlie’^s angels and he was bland and annoying on mulholland drive. he’s managed to be on a few pictures for sucking a lot of dick and it shows. his lesbian beard for 14 years has dumped him after he decided to be a double beard/merkin with plastic horse face maniston.

of course like your website but you have to check the spelling on quite a few of your posts. Many of them are rife with spelling issues and I find it very bothersome to inform the truth on the other hand I will surely come back again.
