New Cate Blanchett photos! Hurray! God, do you know how much I miss Cate Blanchett? She’s been focusing on her family and her theatre work for SO LONG, and that means we very rarely have new red carpet-fashion photos, new interviews or new movies with Cate. It sucks so hard being Blanchett-less. Anyway, these are new pics of Cate in Sydney, Australia, at the opening of a new Louis Vuitton shop in the city. One of the dudes in the photo is Louis Vuitton’s CEO, Yves Carcelle. Does Cate get paid for these personal appearances? I think she does. This must be how she supplements her income, because I doubt a year of theatre work helps pay the bills.
As for how Cate looks – I’m assuming the dress is LV, right? It’s pretty. On another woman, it would look like a doily or a hacked up wedding dress. But on Cate, it’s lovely. I love her skin and her face. She looks especially ageless in these photos – she’s 42 years old right now, but that face never changes.
The only film Cate had in theatres this year was Hanna, which I saw and didn’t really care for. I looked at her IMDB to see if 2012 would bring us more Cate – she has a part in The Hobbit, a film called Lawless (with Ryan Gosling, Christian Bale and Rooney Mara) and she’s attached to another film called Knight of Cups. Someone write La Blanchett a lead role, for the love of God.

Yeah, that’s the first thing I noticed. Her face and lips seem fuller and her face looks smooth and botoxy. 42 seems very young for such drastic measures. Bummer, Cate. What are you afraid of, a successful woman like you?
From the neck upwards she looks great. I really don’t like the dress though, that cut on her neckline is horrible.
I’d like to see what the dress looks like after they take it out of the bag.

Her affiliation with the Labor Parties Carbon Tax while owning a ‘huge mansion’ in Sydney has seen her undoing.
Cate may look great and be a good actor but in Australia she will always be known as the celeb who thought she knew better than the masses.
She and Tilda Swinton are perfection. They can do no wrong in my book

Gosh I think she is beautiful. It has really helped in my opinion for her to gain much needed weight. She was another one that is very popular so no-one really talked about her super skinnyness years back. Not only do I think she’s pretty but I like how she carries herself with class and the kind that seems real, not part of imaging making.
I have a huge chick-crush on Ms. Cate. She’s perfection.
As long as she continues to show that magnificent face, she can successfully wear anything she wants.

SOOOO beautiful, it’s unbelievable. I don’t think she’s had anything done for her face. She is the spokesperson for SKII, which is uber-expensive. I’ve never tried it (because it’s uber-expensive – we’re talking the $100+ range), but I wonder if she really uses it and if it really works.

Cate is one of the few people I wouldn’t mind attending the opening of an envelope, because I always like seeing pics of her out and about, be it dressed up, or just doing ordinary stuff like shopping.
