Katherine Heigl covers Cosmo UK, claims Hollywood labeled her “mouthy”

Katherine Heigl covers the January issue of Cosmopolitan UK – how terrible is this cover shot? They Photoshopped her face in a really bad way, and the dress and the positioning of her body… it’s just terrible. Anyway, Heigl is on the war path! Not really, but since she’s promoting New Year’s Eve and One For the Money, it feels like Dame Heigl is on a mission to give the best interviews possible. Meaning that it feels forced, but this one isn’t as lacking in self-awareness as her Elle Magazine cover profile. Here are some highlights:

On not having a killer figure: “I was 20 pounds heavier and wanted to look like those girls with fantastically beautiful bodies like Jennifer Aniston or Jessica Alba, but I just couldn’t lose the weight. It’s only now that I realize how hard those girls work for their bodies, and what level of commitment they make to do that,” she says. The yoga, personal training sessions and painstakingly planned meal plans that make Aniston and Alba’s bods world-famous just aren’t for her, she explains. “I’m too lazy and I like food and I like my free time too much to spend it working out!”

What she would do if her husband cheated: “I’ve been debating this lately. Josh and I always said that cheating would be a deal breaker; there is no second chance. But I’ve seen friends and acquaintances go through it and they’ve found a way back to the relationship, and a way to forgive each other. And as much as I would kill him if he cheated because it would destroy me, I have started to question whether, if a mistake were to be made and it was a one-time thing, I would forgive him. Because look at the life we’ve built together. We have history, we have a child…But at the same time, it would be really hard to ever fully trust that person again.”

She’s mouthy: “Hollywood likes to label everyone so you’re easier to identify. I didn’t mind it; I got mouthy, the way a child does when you celebrate them for something. The mouthier I got, the more I’d be celebrated. I was like, ‘You think that’s outspoken? How about this…’ Then it bit me in the hand.”

On one night stands: “I don’t like them. I’ve never met a single woman who has ever walked away from a one-night stand and been like, ‘That was awesome! Oh, my god! Best ever!’”

[Cosmo UK via Us Weekly & Celebrity Gossip]

I’ve walked away from one-night-stands saying “That was great, and I’m glad I don’t have to see that person ever again.” I’m not a fan of the idea that all women want relationships and all men just want sex – it’s such a dated idea, and sometimes, ladies like to get their rocks off with some dude they’ll never see again.

As for the mouthy thing… with Heigl, it’s one step forward, two steps back. Yes, she is mouthy. No one was like, “Hey, we’ll randomly label her ’mouthy’!” She actually doesn’t know when to STFU. She’s rude, she’s unprofessional, and it’s not just other people randomly labeling her those things. She wants to be a rude bitch and still play the put-upon victim.

No no honey, your own mouth labelled you mouthy.

Totally agree with the statement above.

Also…I know those mustard yellow shoes are kinda tacky but I want them.

  3. Gine says:

Her eyes are completely blank and dead on that cover. It’s eerie.

  4. Yalena says:

    Hi

Why does her hair look untidy?

How do you read the comments ? Why was a change neccessay?

Happy to be the first commenter.

  5. Bbyboo says:

I actually like her. I have never seen Killers but all her other romcoms that people say blow- I like. LOL… what can I say? I love a trashy movie. Esp when my husband is working and it’s just me. Anyhow- I am looking forward to One for the Money. I’ve read all the Stephanie Plum books and though she is not who I would have chosen for the role I still look forward to it coming to the big screen.

  6. ShanKat says:

She’s obnoxious. And she always has mumsy hair.

That paillette cover dress is too faboo for her sour puss.

  7. QQ says:

Horrid cover, horrid dress horrid bitch horrid attitude & she can call me if she wants to meet a girl who walks away from a one night stand saying: By God, that shit.Rocked!

    • MJ says:

No shit! Add my number to that list. And the numbers of half of my girlfriends. A lot of people may not agree, but I actually felt really empowered and fulfilled by my first one-night stand.

It’s probably because the only woman she seems to know is her mother.

I’m tired of bitching about Heigel. In 5 years she’ll probably be back on tv anyways.

Can you find some new bitch worthy subjects please?

      • normades says:

Ah Eve, love ya doll. Nope, just couldn’t get into that story. We all knew Murphy was a big ass but I can’t feel sympathetic towards Lea Michelle.

Heigal hating has been done to death. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE this site and think it must be really hard for CB/Kaiser to churn out the stories everyday, but I’d like to see some fresh faces instead of all the usual suspects (Lainey is the same).

    • Eve says:

I know Lea Michelle is really hard to defend but I swear I’ll support almost anyone who tries to call that asshole out.

Regarding Heigl…I’m not particularly interested in her and I rarely comment on her stories. I can see she’s a bitch and that she whines a lot. Also, her opinions about herself sound rather contradictory (“I’m an asshole because I want people to like me”? WTF?).

I just see what I dislike about her: I once took a class on drawing fashion figurines (I’m a fashion designer), and one of the lessons was given by a psycologist who showed us a simple trick, to see what people really transmitted on their pghotographs. First you cover the lower part of the picture, and look at the eyes, and then to the opposite; cover the top and look at the mouth. Sometimes eyes and mouth say different things, and that’s it about Heigl. In most photos, her eyes don’t match her mouth, so you just ca’t relly know were she stands.

  10. Lindy says:

Honestly, I think she’s right–she did get slapped with a label and isn’t permitted to try to set the record straight. Anything she does or says gets slammed. She adopts a foreign baby? She must have ulterior motives or want attention or have a failing marriage that needs saving. When in fact, she has an adopted sister who is Asian, and it is a huge part of her identity, and the furthest thing from an attention-seeking stunt you can get. But other adopt foreign babies and they are like the reincarnation of the Blessed Virgin.

You know what she did? She called out Hollywood for making stupid comedies in which the men are portrayed as poor little Peter Pans who have to stop playing video games and smoking up 24-7 once they become fathers, while women in these movies who are merely attempting to be responsible parents are portrayed as nagging bitches. She’s completely right about those stereotypes. But saying it out loud makes her unfunny, bitchy, mouthy etc.?

    • Kerfuffles says:

If she hated that purported stereotype so much then she shouldn’t have agreed to be in the film.
She wasn’t FORCED to be in Knocked Up.

It’s total bullshit that she agreed to be in Knocked Up knowing EXACTLY what it was about, it makes her a movie star, and then she turns around and slams the movie and acts like she’s above it all. She’s an ungrateful hypocrite.

  11. Holly Hobby says:

Why does she look like her mom on that cover? Ugh, grow that hair out.

Also, she pretty much didn’t know when to stop with her mouth. It was good when she defended George/Grey’s in the beginning but she didn’t know when to stop. She harped on it constantly in every tv show and press release. Even when George stopped talking about it!

That and her ungrateful opinions about the people who hired her (Judd Apatow, Shondra Rhimes the Grey’s writers etc.). Those are generally career breakers right there. Especially when she can’t put the money where her mouth is (box office hits?).

  12. Emily says:

In my experience, girls who can pull off one night stands are in the minority.

I’ve had way too many girlfriends who claim “yeah, that was just sex. It doesn’t mean anything!” but then two seconds later are all “OMG WHY WON’T HE CALL ME???????!!!!!!! *sobs*”

  13. locamochagirl says:

I totally agree with her about one night stands. I don’t have one friend who has had a good one night stand. Even my “oh I have sex like a man” friends aren’t as detached as they’d like to think. I DO think that women and men are different in their regard for sex and those that claim they’re the same are fooling themselves. Sorry, Kaiser…

  14. Isa says:

    Her hair always looks awful.
And they even photoshopped a sparkle onto her earring. How cute.
