    WTF indeed.

    My two least favourite celebrities…

    • elle says:

      I completely agree

    • laylajanelovesgossip says:

Dominos Pizza sent me a birthday card, facebook, IHOP I’m guessing it is some automated system…

    • kibbles says:

Sad yet telling that so many of our “politicians” today are more known for their celebrity (the celebs they are friends with, who sings at their campaign events, their fashion style, tv show appearances, etc.) rather than being an actual change agent such as, say, fixing our broken economy, collapsing infrastructure, shameful education system, or creating jobs. If you want to know how George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Sarah Palin, etc. have become “stars” it is because our country has become more knowledgeable in celebrity culture than what is going on in our own backyards.

    • Flan says:

Just be glad he’s anti-SOPA, or otherwise there might be no more websites like these to discuss your favorite celebrities.

  2. Turd Fergussen says:

It really makes my heart swell that, in the midst of this shitty economy, with people hurting for jobs and losing their homes, our thoughtful president has the time to send birthday greetings to C-list celebrities.

God I hope this is a joke.

    • TJ says:

I couldn’t have said it better myself, Turd. My friends and I all call him the United States Celebrident because all he cares about is kissing celebrity ass. He’s brought such shame to the White House. For Pete’s sake, he had Kim Kardashian at the Correspondent’s dinner. It used to be for hard working, well accomplished journalists. Not fame whores who like to be peed on. I’m sure Zoe D. is a nice person (I’m kinda “meh” on her acting skills), but I’d rather see our “President” send a birthday card to a member of the service, a teacher, a student, a first responder, etc.

    • kibbles says:

Lol. It is all about the money. He is seeking donations for his campaign and I’m sure anyone with a net worth of above a million dollars is probably spammed with a ton of ass kissing from politicians right now.

  3. elle says:

and what exactly has she done to warrant a birthday card from the president?

  4. RocketMerry says:

    Few observations:
    1. That’s not very presidential, is it? I dunno, why are all the presidents and prime ministers so fascinated with actors and models as of late?
    2. Snooky is cute without makeup. Wish she’d stop fake-tanning like the Sun exploded, dressing like the Kardashians are the only “designers” on Earth and talking like she does.
    3. Dude, that Casper boy sure is Smart (lame, I know, lame).
    4. Those singing dogs are awesome! Maybe they can do a chorus on Paris Hilton’s new album.
5.Where’s the “Leave Britney alone” dude when you need it?!
Now I’ll go to sleep and dream of finding a job soon.

  5. TheOriginalKitten says:

I bet she pasted it into a collage with flower petals, bows and pictures of fluffy white kittens because she’s just so twee like that.

    • Zelda says:

      HAhaha!
Her website is essetially twee-GOOP. So I’m sure there’s a how-to video for it featuring her wearing a tiara and knee-high toe socks and a bib or whatever.

  6. Bite me says:

U too can receive a birthday congratulation , wedding , birth of a new baby from the president through a request from the White House Greetings Office … 🙂

  7. MJ says:

I don’t have the same level of hate for Zooey as others seem to have, but that dress she wore to the Golden Globes is hideous. She has a very predictable style, and even as a departure from that, it just doesn’t make sense.

She looks like she designed the bodice on her Lite Brite and stuck it to the skirt of a late ’90s prom dress from Bryan’s (Canadian equivalent to David’s Bridal.)

  8. NaomiCampbellsPhone says:

I reckon that blind item in the featured links isn’t the Craken. I totally reckon it’s Demi Lovato (and that makes me sad, get help, girl!)

  9. Kim says:

Yeah because this is what a president should spend his time concerned with and use our taxpayer money for! He is such a inept president.

    • Zelda says:

Yeah–as a non American watching your country, I can see how you’d think that.

I mean, the man pulled troops out of the middle East, killed Osama Bin Laden, and ensured that healthcare was a basic human right for all American citizens.

I don’t see how you can tolerate such laziness on the job. Gingrich for 2012, amirite?!

      //sarcasm

      • Relli says:

I know Zelda right! How convenient it is to forget that there was actually a president before him made most of the mess AND was re-elected on the merits that he totally sucked. I always say the only thing that will win over all his naysayers is to bring back the big JC himself.

Also if you are stupid enough to believe that Barack sends out birthday or greeting cards and doesn’t have someone that does for him. I should warn you that he, Michelle, Joe & Jill Biden as well as Eva Longoria have ALL sent campaign emails lately to saying they cant wait to meet me! HOW DARE THEY SPENT TAXPAYER TIME AND MONEY ON WIRELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!

        //more sarcasm

      • Thiagra says:

LOL! Hell yeah! And killed Bin Laden! Not that that impresses me much, but it should impress the Obama-haters, shouldn’t it? Yet, somehow it doesn’t.

Seriously though, she likely contributed a maximum donation to his 2008 campaign and re-election campaign. Celebs have status and money–I’d send one out to every celeb I could find the addy of if I was running for re-election.

    • NO SH¡T says:

Kim, so it just so happened to slip your mind that we had a dumbass in the white house before him right?!….yeah that what thought if he was white you would be kiss white ass right now. GTFOH

  10. crys737 says:

    for why?

  11. ToBeFair says:

Zooey’s website has been doing work with the White House blog to further education and appreciation of young women in American media. So I’m sure the time spent on that signature totally ruined the economy. Grow up.

  12. RobN says:

Big donations equal a birthday card from the president. I have no doubt that everybody on the big donor lists gets one. “Happy Birthday, please write us a check.”

  13. Julie says:

Some bitches are sure full of hate on here. Damn I know it’s CeleBITCHY but degrees guys. Think in degrees.

  14. mike says:

    Dudes (and dudettes)…

    Srly.

This stuff is all automated (or interned/automated) and many, many, many folks who’ve had more than a teeny bit of interaction with the WH gets these things.

    Srly

  15. Momo says:

Wow. Scruggs looks amazing given the extent of her injuries.

  16. R says:

You guys, getting a letter for your birthday from a Prez. isn’t that huge of a deal. I’ve known several people who have gotten one

  17. ol cranky says:

Kelly Osbourne actually has the gal to complain that she’s bullied when people wish her ill for basically being paid to bully others about their physical appearance on FP (and bullies folks for fun if she doesn’t like them)?

  18. Adrien says:

Meh! Barney (and his friends BJ and Baby Bop) sent me a birthday card on my birthday. I win.

  19. LBeees says:

Sending birthday cards is pretty typical for campaigns as a way of thanking big donors. It’s not personal, just politics.

  20. jen says:

    “Michelle Obama covers More Magazine.”

LOL. Sometimes headlines just write themselves.

  21. Darla says:

She has the same birthday as Michelle Obama to!

  22. lululemon says:

i don’t usually comment on these sites, but i think that you are all being hard on zooey and the pres. she is a philanthropic responsible young adult (compared to many celebs her age) and gives money to causes which may have included the democratic party. i am doubtful that she received a personalized card – just an automated card, similar to what many of us receive when we sign up with our favorite vendors, organizations, affiliations, et al.

  23. whatevs says:

why are people overreacting to this? i imagine many presidents or at least politicans sent cards to celebs. zooey is being dumb as usual bringing this into limelight. making the pres. look bad (not really!) dumb bish, dumb move, what do you expect.

  24. ele4phant says:

There is actually a machine, the autopen, in which the president’s signature is programed in and it can “sign” things for him. For instance, if you send a wedding invitation to the president, you will get a “signed” letter congratulating you on your nuptials. There’s ink on the page, but the president is not actually putting pen to paper for you.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the same thing happened for Zooey’s birthday letter.
