Brad Pitt on his kids’ favorite activities, he loves ‘iCarly’: “I know every episode”

You know it’s a crazy day around here when I’m writing about Brangelina, right? Poor Kaiser is still sick, so you’re stuck with me, and while I don’t anticipate any Bermuda Triangle angles on this story, well, you never know.

At any rate, yesterday’s links pointed everyone towards Angelina’s bizarre farmer’s market outfit as she hangs with the kids following many required adult-oriented outings to various awards shows. Many of you commented on the unflattering manner in which Angelina was dressed; and while I too would love to see Angelina rock a pair of jeans, she’s probably just grateful to dress comfortably in her own way again. Since Brad is now up for an Oscar for his role in Moneyball, I expect she’ll be meeting with designers soon to get all dolled up again, so we have that to look forward to in the near future.

As for Brad, he’s still on publicity duty for the time being, and he’s talked to People about what his family does to spend time together while hanging out at home (wherever that might be at any given moment). Mainly, Brad loves watching “iCarly” with his kids. I wonder if he tosses down the cane and engages in the show’s special random dancing along with his kids? I bet he does:

Hollywood’s awards season is a time of relative calm for the Jolie-Pitt family. Oscar-nominee Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie can celebrate their films — and the reaction to them — and also kick back with the kids.

On the latter score, Pitt says, the children have certain favorite activities — both at home and on outings.

“A lot of it, for us, is family,” the actor, 48, told PEOPLE Sunday at the Producers Guild Awards in Beverly Hills. “Just breaking away and getting to take the kids to Benihana’s or something.”

And what about when they’re lounging around the house? “iCarly,” says Pitt. “iCarly is big in our house. It is. I know every episode.”

Pitt also offered an update on his injured knee, saying he’s “got the brace for another month” but should be in the clear after that.

Otherwise, he says, awards season is a nice time to reflect on their work — he received raves for acting in Moneyball and Jolie was honored with the Stanley Kramer Award for her work on In the Land of Blood and Honey, which she directed.

“I’m so happy that the films are appreciated. That’s what this has been about for me,” said Pitt. “We get to catch up with people we haven’t seen in a while, old friends. And that’s a nice thing. I consider it part of the job.”

[From People]

You know, it sounds like Brad and Angelina only really spend quality time with other adults during award season, so I’m sure they look forward to that more than they’d like to admit. Otherwise, they’re essentially family people who bury themselves within the depth that is children’s television programming. CB reminded me that Angelina got the kids ready for twin siblings by watching “Dora the Explorer,” and more specifically, the episode where Dora’s mom gives birth to twins. Well, Dora’s not insufferable, but I’m more of a “Go, Diego, Go!” kind of girl myself. After all, Baby Jaguar is the sh-t. “Rowrr, rowrr!”

  2. call_in says:

I wonder what it would feel like to be MIranda Cosgrove reading that comment.

  3. Nev says:

love her gaze in the second pic.

    “he’s mine bitches…BACK OFF!!”

    hahahahaha

    man-eater for real.

    • Samiesays says:

Thats what I thought..:-D, Angie, your man is old, past his prime, the it-man and pretty boys are Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans…lol

  4. Capella says:

Still a fan of GI JOE and Gargoyles. And I bet you so is Pax!

Although I think it’s cute, my shallow pessimistic soul still finds it doubtful the information would’ve gotten out there if he didn’t have a movie to promote, or an Oscar to win.

Just selling it to the mini-van. Sometimes, it would be nice if they let information constantly trickle throughout the year, whether they have a movie to promote or not.

    • samira677 says:

I never understood why haters constantly make this comment. Of course Brad makes these comments while promoting his movie. That’s the only time most celebrities do interviews. It would be really odd for him to do an interview when there’s nothing to promote and just randomly to talk about nothing. I also doubt that Pitt saying he watches !Carly will win him an Oscar.

      • Capella says:

It’s a gossip site dear. Your constant abrasive defending of anything Brange, is starting to sound a bit too much like a Hollywood delusional terrorist: The Brangeloony. And us based-in-reality adults will criticize and call out those who give very little, especially when it seems to serve only their bottom line.

They want my bottom dollar for their movie, they better give throughout the year, and not play Santa when Oscar time comes-a-ringing.

I’m guilty of being a fan of iCarly as well. It’s a really cute show. My son doesn’t really care for it (he’s only 4, it’s not animated, so it doesn’t hold his interest), but I will watch it by myself, lol.

Fun Fact: Jared Leto was on an episode. Not playing himself, playing a security guard. So cute!

    • Delta Juliet says:

I love iCarly too…..my sons are 8 and 2 and it’s a big hit. Even the 2 year old, who doesn’t say much, asks for “iCarly! iCarly!”

It’s a welcome break from Spongebob (who I also not-so-secretly love).

Wow! I have something in common with BP!

    • Kara Ann says:

Let me tell you about guiltily watching iCarly…I have NO children but I do have the most wonderful niece and nephew that spend a couple of weeks in the summer at my place and that’s how I got exposed to iCarly. Now the Guilty part: I CONTINUE to watch it ALONE after they leave! Worse part yet, I’m past the shame. Yeah hubby, that’s right c’mon in while I finish up dinner and don’t touch my iCarly!

      • Samigirl says:

        You win, sister!!

What’s worse for us is Phineus and Ferb. Last weekend, my son was with his dad, and my husband and I watched evverrrryyyy episode while we were cleaning our sun room. It was super ridiculous.

      • Celebitchy says:

Sami Phineas and Ferb is awesome! I know other couples that watch it alone too, don’t feel guilty. It’s really funny and clever.

      • Delta Juliet says:

I love Phineus and Ferb too. I have friends who don’t have kids (don’t even LIKE kids) and they watch the show. It’s quite clever.

    • WickedSteppMom says:

Hubs & I actually watched the new episode of iCarly this weekend…and our kids were already in bed! The not-nice words or actions that happen are usually pointed out by my daughter (she’ll be 7 on Friday) but if something major slips by her, I just casually mention “Wow, that’s not really something we’d do/say, especially to our friends, huh?”

      • sharylmj says:

we have always loved ICarly in our house too!! the characters are awesome and funny and the writers do a great job.. just wonder what is going to happen now that they are all going into their late teens, early 20’s?

  6. Lenna says:

ICarly is the best. Jerry Trainor is hot so it makes it the easiest show to watch with my kids

  7. Anna says:

LOOOL @ baby jaguar is the shit. I agree!

  8. Rhiley says:

Look for Jennifer Anniston’s very special recurring guest starring role on iCarly to come soon…

    • Kara Ann says:

Oh, Rhiley, you scamp! Good one 🙂

    • Shay Kay says:

You are seriously disturbed and please keep it coming because I had to smile at this and if you can make me smile after dinner, homework battles, and anxiety about doing it all over tomorrow than you are AWESOME!

  9. olivia says:

    *whishes she could care*

  10. atlantapug says:

While I can’t stand these two, I’m really glad they aren’t the

“There’s no TV allowed in OUR house” kind of snobs (Madonna are you listening?)

My 6yo likes iCarly, and I have to tell you, I’m not super happy with some of the language they use(idiot, stupid, loser….) but otherwise, a cute show.

    • Delta Juliet says:

Yeah, there have been a couple of times where I’ve said “Oh, that’s not a nice word is it?” LOL Technically, I think the target audience is more tweens, but it’s passable.

  11. teri says:

At least they love spending time with family.

  12. truthSF says:

My daughter got me obsessed with the iCarly show. And it’s a great show, better then any of that crap on the Disney channel.

  13. lem says:

those farmers market pics lend some credence to the celebitchy theory that AJ is preggo again. Although it could easily just be that specific day/dress/lighting because she didn’t have the slightest bit of belly at the awards recently.

    • Kim says:

I figured Angelina showed up to Farmers Market where she KNOWS she will be photographed because she looked preggers.

She is thin as a rail but has a stomach pooch. Maybe it was a bad outfit but the fact that she was somewhere wheer for sure she would be photographed makes me think she wanted the tabloids to start the is she or isnt she preggers game.

  14. jinni says:

The rescue pack song is my jam, but I’ve got to say it’s all about The Backyardigans. They have so many great songs from different musical genres; they really need to make more new episodes, for the children of course. *wink*

    • Samigirl says:

I LOVE hearing Emerson go “pack pack, pack pack” every time he puts his on before we leave the house. That song is ridiculously catchy 🙂

  15. Kim says:

As a parent most kids shows are painful to watch but ICarly is one of the rare ones even most adults like.

What i dont like is how ALL Disney shows focus alot on boys & girls kissing or dating or talking about what boys/girls they like. I think its a topic to young for the ages watching their shows.

  16. hatsumomo says:

You know, I just saw Mr. and Mrs. Smith last night for the first time and I cant get over how different Angelina and Brad looked in that movie! In the first scenes where she’s wearing that white outfit her body looked amazing and her arms didnt look like string beans. And the scene where she’s in the kitchen chopping vegetables and watching her husband come home I had to pause the DVR to study her face, she really looked like a different woman than the one I see in the gossip blogs. And Brad was just damn pretty in that movie! Its a shame, I got so used to seeing Angelina looking emaciated I completely forgot how she used to look in films.

  17. NM6804 says:

    I’m a Diego-girl too!

  18. Just U says:

I do love iCarly too. I have 9 and 10 year old daughters so I get to enjoy it every day. It’s a funny show.
Much better than spoilt brats like Hannah Montana or Alex Russo (Wizards of Waverly Place).

    • Kimberly says:

agree about the spoiled brats of hm and wowp, but do have to include the bitchy dialogue of Icarly too. had to stop watching because I was rolling my eyes too much at everything they said.

Hate watching that chick’s mouth move, but love that her bff is a lesbian character in the closet though!

      • Just U says:

Haha, I never even thought of that! I just like it. My girls are still young enough to like the silliness of it, like Random Dancing, without getting caught up in all the boyfriend/kissing stuff.
I hope they stay that way as long as possible, haha!

      • Shay Kay says:

As an adult I just have to say…Sam isn’t a lesbian as she is clearly head over heels with Freddie! Duh! Sam is just a tough talking, tough acting, really hungry, domineering, physically aggressive….oh yeah you’re right.

  19. Sakyiwaa says:

Thanks 4 the story, Bedhead :-)!

  20. Sakyiwaa says:

    Speedy recovery to Kaiser!

  21. original sandy says:

i guess i will start watching icarly, to see what the fuss is about, thanks brad and commenter’s, i don’t have small ones so, i didn’t know about the show, also thanks bedhead.

  22. Amy says:

I thought I was the only young adult who enjoyed ICarly. I got hooked while watching episodes here in Spain. The girl with blonde curly hair is annoying but I like Miranda Cosgrove and the kid who plays Freddie. I kind of have a crush on him–and it’s allowed, he is not that much younger than me (maybe by 3-4 years).

  23. I Choose Me says:

Loving the iCarly love. Me and the hubs curl up on the couch every Saturday afternoon to watch. No kids. We just love the show. Totally called the Freddie/Sam hookup way before the show went there.

Oh and though I love the character T-bo, he’s better in small doses. I hope he doesn’t get shoe-horned into every episode, just because.

  24. mollination says:

lol to the whole “we just like to get to be a family and go to Benihana” like it’s red robin or dairy queen or something. Benihana is one of the most expensive, night-out-type restaurants we have in my city. haha.

    • lisa says:

Well they take the kids to McDonalds too. So it all balances out.

I remember Brad wearing that Yo Gabba gabba costume one Halloween. Something any other parent would do. I think its cute.

  25. Brenda says:

Love all the toons mentioned so far!!! I usually watch with my niece n nephews. I always felt kinda guilty for watching like if anyone ever found out they would judge me harshly glad to see I’m not the only one. Oh n we also love watching Adventure Time, its wierd I know but we love it.

  26. Brenda says:

  27. Isa says:

We’re Dora fans here…well at least we were. I was trying to teach my daughter how to count to 10, she started watching Dora and by the end of the week she was counting to 20 in English, 10 in Spanish. I think she also learned her colors and shapes from there too…

  28. Trashaddict says:

Wow. The black dress with the lace cutouts is the first good-looking outfit I have seen in her since I don’t know when. Stick with that designer, Angie.
