Emma Stone covers Vogue UK: lovely or not as good as the US cover?

Emma Stone

Emma Stone covers the July issue of Vogue UK, and I have to say that this cover is not nearly as interesting as Emma’s recent domestic Vogue cover and pictorial. At the same time, however, Emma looks a lot more like herself on this cover, so I can’t complain. And yes, I do realize that a lot of you prefer her as a ginger, but Emma is a natural blonde, and I think she looks completely lovely (and full of poise) with either hair shade.

Meanwhile, The Amazing Spider-Man has already hit theaters on this side of the pond, and Sony is hoping for a huge hit at the box office. The studio needn’t fear though because the movie has already shattered previous records (and most pre-expectations) to achieve the best Tuesday opening of all time:

More fireworks at the North American box office on the eve of U.S. Independence Day. My sources say Sony Pictures’ superhero reboot The Amazing Spider-Man opened with $35M (though some rival studios put the number in the neighborhood of $32M tonight). It easily sets a new domestic record for a Tuesday opening – helped by its 3D premium pricing – and is ahead of the original 2D Transformers ($27.8M) that debuted on Tuesday July 3rd, 2007. “That is one huge number,” a Sony exec gushed to me tonight. “Unbelievable start to what should be a very exciting 6 days.”

I’m told Sony’s The Amazing Spider-Man received an ‘A-‘ Cinemascore from audiences (an ‘A’ from under age 18 moviegoers) which should spur good word of mouth.

[From Deadline]

Are you going to see the movie? It wasn’t really on my radar since I’m not a fan of reboots in general, but the Cinemascore has me intrigued. Emma Stone is always good, and Andrew Garfield is a cutie. So have you seen the movie, and should I go watch it too?

Movie looks like it could be good. The director did 500 days of summer. The uk cover not as nice but it looks more british.

  2. marie says:

I’m going to see it this weekend or next. And I like the UK cover more, she looks like herself..

Agreed. Finally a picture of her that I recognized since she’s going with the blonde look. 🙂

Why why why the thumb at the mouth? Whyyyyyy? (said while foot stomping with whiney voice)

I just watched it and it was beyond amazing! There were sad moments(*tears*), funny, action, and the love story, all these elements were well balanced. I recommend it, just give it a chance.

I watched it yesterday. Emma/Andrew were really cute together. The story was blah and predictable, but Andrew was funny and super cute. Dennis Leary was so handsome in this. Kinda hoped he’d bring more of his brashness out, but he was a typical hard-nosed daddy character. Sally Field/Martin Sheen were kinda outta place to me. Too big names in such blah roles. Over all it was good. Although,I wouldnt rush out to see it again.

No doub she is a blonde but .. seriously? It’s not like that’s her natural blonde color LOL. Platinum natural hair? I don’t think so.

So better off as a redhead.
Love this cover much more than the vogue one (busted).

  8. phoenix says:

I think she looks great as a blonde as well. Even platinum. In this picture you can barely see her face with that big hat.

  9. bns says:

I actually like this cover more than the US Vogue one.

  10. Jover says:

Looks like russian model sasha pivavarova (sic), do the only reason fashion mags exist is to promote movies for whatever studios pay the freight; fashion shines better when it focuses on style, not celebrity; i realize she’s the “it” girl right now with her revlon ads and what not, but glamazons like Paulina Porizkova, Isabella rossellini, etc. from a generation ago blow these bland cookie cutter starlets off the map.

  11. ssa says:

    I love her so much.

  12. Jilliterate says:

Ugh, she looks like Rebecca Gayheart in that cover photo. Not good.

  13. magda says:

seen it today. pretty cool cool cool:) awful lizard though, worth $

  14. Bird says:

Love the cover, she looks great.

  15. Camille (The original) says:

I like the cover shot, she actually looks like herself. Much better.

As for the Spiderman reboot, it looks good, but I’ll probably wait till it gets to DVD.

The movie was enjoyable. Emma was cute, and Andrew showed a lot of chops as an actor, at times being kind of hammy, or showing subtle humor with just his face. But there were A LOT of similarities between this one and the first tobey spiderman. I get it’s the same story, but… at times it was at little mad-liby. Like we know Uncle Ben has to die. So it was like Peter encounters robber at (place) doesn’t stop him because (reason) then the robber encounters Ben because (another reason) then robber kills ben.

All in all though, it was pretty good. And I bet worth seeing in 3D. I saw it in 2D, and there were times with the swinging where I imagine 3D was amazing and really fun.

  17. sashavice says:

I like it a lot better, although it doesn’t look like Vogue to me

  18. elisa says:

I saw a screening of it in 3D REAL Imax (not fake imax). It was worth it. Amazing, loved it! I think Andrew and Emma are better acting-wise than Toby and Kirsten. And the IMAX was really worth it when he goes swinging thru the city!

  19. not a fan says:

I loved the movie. I think those two have some hot chemistry on screen. And this Spidey is more true to the comic book’s snarky wit.

I liked it in 3D what with all the swinging and action, but I also think it would be good in 2D.

I would definitely recommend watching it in theatres and not waiting for the DVD. There were some beautiful shots.

  20. dizzy says:

I saw it today and really liked it (more than the one that came out 10 years ago). As for Emma on this cover, she looks so freaking pretty. She looked really pretty on film too.

  21. RHONYC says:

my new fave young actor! love, love, LOVED her in ‘crazy, stupid, love’!

check it out. great ensemble cast with steve carell, julienne moore & ryan gosling’s torso does NOT dissapoint!

    Mmmm…yummers! 😉
