First of all, I appreciate that Angelina Jolie never changes. She loves a sack dress, always and forever. No matter the occasion – awards season red carpet or just an international flight – there’s always a sack dress to fit the mood. These are photos of Angelina arriving in Sarajevo on Saturday. She brought Shiloh, Pax and I think Zahara (is that Empress Z behind Jolie?) to Sarajevo from England, where Angelina is filming Maleficent in a series of cow pastures (???). Angelina made the trip with three of her kids – and no Brad!!! – because In The Land of Blood and Honey was being screened at the 18th Sarajevo Film Festival, and Angelina was designated a “special guest”. She was also in town to receive her honorary citizenship!
Lest you think that Angelina merely arrived in her long, black red carpet sack and didn’t bother changing for her appearance at the film festival – you’re wrong! Angelina did change. You can see the photos of her appearance here. She also flashed her giant engagement ring which… I’m sorry, I still don’t really like. Maybe it’s just the lighting, but the diamonds in her ring consistently photograph as a really weird/ugly yellowish color. Us Weekly reports that during Jolie’s appearance, she spoke with “young actors, directors, screenwriters, producers and film critics from the region about her own writing and directorial debut.” One of the students said they were “impressed” and Angelina even fielded questions about her work with the UNHCR. The ‘sack clothes’ seem to have started after the birth of Shiloh. Didn’t she use to be jeans and t-shirt before?
She has said that she stopped wearing jeans, because she felt it would be too slippery a slope for her to ‘give up’ on trying to stay attractive.

Really? Because she looked/looks ten times better wearing a simple jeans and t-shirt and if you read more blogs than you notice that people found her more connectable when she was wearing simple clothing. Before Sack Dress/Flowy crap Period, I can’t remember anybody mocking or questioning her casual outfits like this. It suited her personality (laid back, bad-ass without even trying). She can wear the shit out of a pair of jeans. She could wear it without it looking sloppy in my opinion.
This is too Morticia Adams, does nothing for her thin frame plus she mostly wear designer clothing for EVERY occasion and not even beautiful designer clothes. She looks sloppier now, style going backwards as time goes by.

Yeah, I have to agree with @NM6804. Her jeans and t-shirt combo was far from sloppy, she looked really good. She can wear whatever she wants, and when she gets its right on the red carpet/other events she looks great.
And if she ‘did’ wear nothing but jeans and tee-shirts you guys would talk about how she never wears a dress and looks ‘dirty’ all the time.
I try not to wear jeans for pretty much the same reason (as I sit here typing in jeans.. but hey, it’s Sunday!). At one point I banished them from my wardrobe. But then, I understand Angelina, because there is a serious shortage of comfortable dresses out there. They are either skin-tight and for cocktails and parties, or they are floral moo-moo’s (misspelling intended, they make me feel like a cow).
Why can some people comment using the full versions of swear words and I am stuck in moderation for a clean and non-threatening comment?

Co-sign NM6804…I think she looks great in jeans, and would appear a lot more accessible if she’d wear them over her sacks or business casual wear. Plus it’s practical for a mom of six (!) kids to wear them. Jeans do not have to equate to dirty or sloppy to me, either, I see many people look very put together in jeans.
@Esmom: Agreed and even when she’s wearing casual business wear (on a fun day out with her children?), it’s still something that cost thousands of dollars and not practical when dealing with children. I do not get that. As if one off is going to make her a sloppy unattractive woman instantly?

Jeans, especially premium denim aren’t sloppy at all. I basically wear them everyday. Sometimes very dressed up. I have no real pants but every wash and color of jeans.
I love her hair all up like that. I think the nails are for the film. You usually don’t see her with such long nails.

uh, the war is over; and the country is in the rebuilding phase. a film festival shows a vibrant arts community that is able to draw international attention and participation.
i suspect the people of sarajevo are very happy to have jolie & children/crew visit. besides, they are likely to spend those sorely needed dollars.
People in Bosnia are fighting with the heat and the economic crisis. They don’t give shit about Jolie or HW stars. I live in the country and people here aren’t star struck with stars like you Americans.
Still, they hold film festivals, and most probably the organizators invited her, they wanted her to be there… She is gracious for going, nice of her.

When she just had Maddox, it was great. Her hair was shorter and full of volume, she wore really nicely-fitted slim jeans with heels and other more classic pieces.
Then when she got with Brad, she slowly started wearing dress pants and flowy outfits almost all of the time. I wonder if it’s just because she’s too busy to care or he prefers her that way?
I loved the pic of them on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith where they had matching jackets and jeans. Then again, I love the casual look.
Getting together with Brad was the beginning of the end of Angelina as an individual. She now exists solely as an extension of Brad. He picks out her male co-stars (Salt), she embraces his family publicly to the exclusion of her own; it’s as though she needs their validation.

How in the world could Brad have hand-picked the male cast for “Salt” when Tom Cruise was originally signed to play the lead role? Tom Cruise pulled out pulled out at the last minute? Sony retooled the lead role to fit a woman/Angie, but I think the rest of the cast was already set.

So much of what she wears can be redeemable with the right footwear and accessories. But she doesn’t, she wears the patent peep-toe wedge in either nude or black and it’s just so ugly.

Most of her red carpet looks are disappointing. I liked her earlier dresses but too many black ones that don’t really stand out. I do remember a red one that se looked amazing in and two glittery sacks that I liked.

It might be weird but I usually love her clothing. I’d wear slacks, flow-y blouses and sun dresses everyday if I could pull it off. Her shoes, however, are almost always ugly. Anyway, I don’t know why people focus so much on what she or any woman wears. I never see posts here that say “Justin Bieber in dollar sign-lined pants, cute or douche?”. She has 3 daughters and I think all daughters are technically female. One of them chooses to dress like a boy for whatever reason. Children seem to be exempt. I’ve seen Muslim moms in the mall all covered up but their pre-teen girls are in shorts.

Allow me to use an internettism to answer your assumption that you have to wear a black sack to Sarajevo because of all the Muslims: LOL NO.
According to wikipedia the population in Bosnia-Herzegovina breaks down like so:
48.0% Bosniaks,
37.1% Serbs,
14.3% Croats,
0.6% others
Bosniaks are traditionally Muslims, Serbs Greek Catholic, and Croats Roman Catholic. But even then you have some variations inside the groups, ie. not all Bosniaks practice Islam, and so on. So, for the love of ridiculous black cape thingies, she was not travelling to a Muslim country.
I’ve actually been to Bosnia (to Mostar and Sarajevo, lovely places both), and while you see some women wearing hijab, it’s not expected, and tourists certainly don’t have to cover themselves. Well, you can’t run around naked either, but you know what I mean. I wore mainly summer dresses or t-shirts jeans. Regular stuff I would wear anywhere warm. Of course, if you visit a mosque, then you have to cover your legs, arms, and head.
As a siden note, we were there during Ramadan, when hijab’s are apparently more popular than during the rest of the year, also some people wa talked to said it’s no more popular than before the war: Yugoslavia was a secular country, but the war radicalized some people, religion wise at least.
So in conclusion: if she’s wearing this, because she thinks it’s necessary in a “Muslim country”, she’s stupid. She’s probably not though (that stupid, at least). She just has bad taste in clothes.

Here’s my take on Angelina.
She has a very big jawline and with added weight, her face becomes like a pumpkin.
She keeps her weight very low to keep her face streamlined but since everyone then carries on about how thin she is, she wears those big voluminous dresses to disguise how thin she actually is.
Having said that, I could watch her talk for hours on end. Her eyes are so beautiful, full of emotion.

The trendy adoption thing amongst celebrities is getting OLD. When you adopt internationally, you are causing more problems in those countries with child trafficking, baby selling and other things. This is why so many countries have closed down their adoption programs now.
