I kind of forgot this was happening, so it was a nice treat to sit and watch this interview this morning. Robert Pattinson appeared on Jimmy Kimmel last night, and much like last week’s Daily Show interview, Sparkles was lovely and funny. And rather sexy too. Sparkles is getting progressively better at television interviews, although as I always said – he gives good interviews in general. He’s a funny, sweet, self-effacing young man.
No one is mentioning the name “Kristen Stewart” in here, although Jimmy did get Rob to admit that he’s “still homeless.” Because he’s moved out of the house he shared with Kristen! Rob said, “I still am. No, I rented this archway and I just live behind it. In one of those trash cans.” Rob and Jimmy also spent a lot of time talking about Rob’s (hilariously cheap) insistence on buying everything off of Craigslist, including his current ride, a 2011 Silverado. Rob said, “I buy everything off Craigslist, my friends, that’s what I was initially looking on it for.”
I think the funniest story Rob tells is how he used to cycle in a popular gay cruising site, and he didn’t even realize it until there was a police raid: “I used to turn up at this parking lot looking at everyone like, ‘Why are all these guys sitting around in their cars all the time?’ And I’m going there everyday kind of thinking nothing of it, coming out in my little Lycra pants, and one day there was a big raid.” I’ve included the whole interview below…

I have just broken up with my boyfriend of 5 years, if I had his money i would travel non stop and totally forget about having a house for a while. Love Rob. He’s hot as hell, but also somehow accessible in his interviews. He’s not completely up his own ass and has a sense of humor about himself and about the world. I hope he never loses that. I hope he retains his humility and charm.
Suddenly I find him sexy. I guess KS was ruining him for me. He needs to move on with someone who exude sexuality like Holliday Grainger.

I’m sure it wasn’t his intention, but it offended the hell out of me when I first saw that statement in headline on the Daily Mail. Boo Hoo. In this economy, and with rampant rates of actual homelessness, and wondering where your next meal might come from…I don’t want to see some celebrity whining about being in between multi-million dollar homes.
Where did you get he was whining?? He is not complaining or whining at all. He clearly isn’t homeless, he just deflects the question with humor.

I hope he doesn’t take her back. He can do so much better. Kristen Stewart is beautiful and probably not dumb, but he can certainly find a girl who doesn’t lie and cheat and humiliate him in public.
I’ve always loved Rob, so I’m so happy to see that so many people finally (!!) find him as sexy as I always have.
He’s talking about the parking lot behind the Gold Coast in West Hollywood. It’s a long narrow city lot that stretches the whole block and guys just it in their cars and cruise.

They don’t disappoint! “When he said he lived behind an arch? His house with Kristen is behind an arch, so it’s a sign that he’s still living with her! And he always says he’s homeless in interviews, so ROBSTEN IS UNBROKEN!” They should all be figure skaters, what with their impressive spinning abilities.
Yeah, see, I don’t think they are “back together” or whatever it was. They may be talking but the whatever is definitely over.
This is why Kristen’s people are having trouble selling her now. He’s just a lovely, funny, genuine person who is not full of himself and is edgier and cooler than she could ever hope to be. She always came off as a brat and now she’s coming off as a self centered, entitled one whose boyfriend still treats her with dignity and respect despite her cuckolding him. All she can do is put out stories trying to make it sound like Rupert did everything but lure her into his lair and take advantage of her innocence or put on cut off shirts with skin tight jeans and a supposedly sad face. There’s a reason that people just plain LIKE Rob.
Yeah, and she thought she’d be so wise and well-read and artsy and edgy…
For me, the only thing that made Kristen even remotely likeable was Rob. He’s the most likeable guy: smart, funny, self depricating, gorgeous, musical… it goes on. She’s a pouty faced humorless brat. She’ll always have her stans, but unless she gets a sense of humor about herself and something resembling an actual personality, I can’t see her regaining her mass popularity, while Rob’s star will just continue to grow.

Yes KStews PR teams biggest problem is that Rob is so likeable. He’s funny and doesn’t take himself or his fame too seriously and people are left wondering what is wrong with someone like KStew that you would cheat on someone whose like Rob.
I wonder if the story about people using cruising sites to meet was him throwing a bit of shade towards Kristen and Rupert, or if it was just a coincidence… Either way, that was a funny interview.

He really is a star, personality – wise. I do wish he would put some finality to his situation. Just a subtle “Seeya” to the cheater would be perfect.

The talk show hosts LOVE Rob. He’s an easy guest, always plays along with any skits they do, and has some crazy ass story to tell. He’s thoroughly entertaining, and they get huge ratings when he’s on. Fallon has loved him since he played along so great with that whole “Robert is Bothered” sketch. Kimmel dies laughing every time he’s on – I thought he was going to bust a gut last year with the “just a tip” interview.
On the other hand, Kristen is a tougher interview. Some of the hosts are able to put her at ease and get a decent interview with her, but some really struggle. It will be SO interesting to see if Summit books her for the BD2 tour, or drops her from the talk show cycle. You will see lots of Rob for sure.
I really look forward to seeing Summit’s strategy for promotions. My guess is they’ll do as much with Rob as they can, and minimize Kristen. Maybe pair her with the little girl who plays her daughter, to soften her image and prevent nasty questions and booing.
OMG I just watched the Kimmel ‘just the tip’ interview the other day!! I almost died laughing. I really want to see Rob on Craig Ferguson, that would be brilliant.
The interviews reminds me of when my 80 year old Nan asked me what dogging was. After I explained (with a lot of blushing) she was upset that it wasn’t ruder.
I loved this interview. I always loved his interviews – that’s how I ended up noticing him in the first place.
I know everyone says he’s such a bad actor but in his non-Twilight films I didn’t think he did badly. However, in this clip from Cosmo, it’s sort of painful to watch him.
But I wish him the best.
I’ve always liked this guy. He’s funny and disarming and he never takes himself too seriously. He just seems like a really decent person.

Her PR team is putting that out there, and KStew’s fans are lapping it up. They are desperate for some sign that they are still together. They’re fabricating sightings of them together on Twitter.

I just don’t find him hot. When he was younger he was hot but now I just don’t see it. Don’t know what happened but to me he has lost his looks and is not aging well.
And I don’t know what everyone sees in his interviews….I’ve tried but I just think he comes off as uncomfortable and hyper. Not relaxed and smooth like George Clooney. He just doesn’t do it for me.
he really does seem to get more adorable with every interview. this one is even better than jon stewart. (tho i guess that was the effective icebreaker.) i think it’s hilarious that jimmy kimmel genuinely seems to be finding him funny as well.
and oh god do i wish i was in the audience to hear him say “f**g%rf¨ùg” (did he say what i think he was saying?) without being bleeped 😉 😉
Rob deserves some credit for handling himself with class and dignity in a world that devalues these attributes more and more. However, Rob and Kristen were NOT married. Kristen NEVER publicly vowed, to my knowledge, to remain faithful to Rob and honor him forever. BIG difference (no matter who disagrees)between living with someone and being married to them.
