Robert Pattinson is definitely selling his LA home because of ‘memories’

I thought this Robert Pattinson story sounded familiar, and as it turns out, I already mentioned it in my wrap-up of Us Weekly’s Twihard story last week. Us Weekly had a long story with extensive coverage of what was and is going down between Rob and Kristen Stewart, with their sources claiming that Kristen is still insisting that she and Rupert Sanders never had sex and that Rupert “manipulated” her into the affair. I became so focused on Team Kristen’s flawed defense of their girl that this piece of news barely made a dent: Robert Pattinson is definitely (maybe, probably) selling the LA home that he bought last year, which he and Kristen had been sharing:

When Robert Pattinson joked to Jimmy Kimmel Aug. 22 that he’s “homeless,” he wasn’t exactly kidding. Although the British actor, 26, re-emerged earlier this month to gamely promote his new film Cosmopolis, things are definitely not back to normal over a month after he (and the rest of the world) discovered girlfriend Kristen Stewart’s July 17 tryst with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.

Case in point: An insider confirms to Us Weekly that Pattinson is “selling” the posh Los Feliz home in Los Angeles that Stewart moved into nearly a year ago. “He said there are too many memories,” says the insider of Pattinson, who had been dating Twilight costar Stewart for three years.

Although Stewart has been splitting her time with BFF Scout Taylor-Compton in Burbank, Calif. and with her parents in L.A.’s Woodland Hills nabe, she hasn’t yet officially moved out of the $6.3 million house, which Pattinson bought in September 2011. Once owned by ER star Noah Wylie, the abode is “on an acre and a half of land and has a 150-person screening room and amazing gardens,” according to a source.

A second insider adds that Pattinson and Stewart “are talking” in the wake of her fling with married Snow White and the Huntsman director Sanders, 41.

“Rob doesn’t hate her and he’s not mad . . . He just doesn’t get why she did it. He loves her and thinks about her constantly.”

Stewart, meanwhile, is “close to a total meltdown,” according to another source. “She isn’t sleeping and she stays up all night crying.”

[From Us Weekly]

See, I take this as further proof that Rob dumped Kristen and that he’s looking to cut Kristen out of his life over the course of the next few months. Would you talk about selling your home – that you shared with your partner of some-odd three years – if there was still a possibility of getting back together with that person? So while Rob might have agreed to meet Kristen and he might not flat-out hate her, I do think the signs are looking pretty good that the breakup will hold. For now. Fingers crossed.

He’s sooo cute in that first picture. I’m twice his age, but totally in love with Sparkles (though I’ve never watched any Twilight).

    • susie cue says:

not having seen Twilight can only HELP, not hurt, your love for him. 🙂

    • Emma says:

Rob was really hot in all the pictures from that Vanity Fair photoshoot. 😀 😀

    • Jane says:

Yes, I am also an older Rob fan and find him to be the best thing to come along in Hollywood in a long time. I see him as a leading man throughout his career. I also hate the public humilation he has gone through due to no fault of his own and hate he is selling the only home he has ever owned. But sh.t happens.

  2. lem says:

Why do I find it so hilarious that in the last picture he’s wearing American Eagle jeans?!?

    • Nanz01 says:

I noticed the jeans too, but not that they are AE. I noticed the back pockets rest on the backs of his legs, rather than his bum. The cut of the jeans have so much potential but for how he’s wearing them. Unflattering.

      • Zombie Nurse says:

He always comments in interviews that he’s super cheap. I guess he was telling the truth.

    • TheOriginalTiffany says:

Why was I cracking up at the same exact thing. AE jeans, dude. At least step it up to some Levi jeans.
I saw the little bird on his tag and giggled.

    • Meera says:

What’s wrong with AE Jeans? I actually own a lot of AE jeans and pants because they’re one of the few brands to have a 36 inseam. No need to be a clothes snob.

    • Anname says:

Lem, I find it hilarious too. The mix of designer and mall is funny.
Remember Sharon Stone in the Gap t-shirt at an Oscar event many years ago? (dating myself for sure here)

  3. Rux says:

He needs to stick to his guns. Once a cheater, always a cheater.

    • CC says:

THIS. I don’t have any particular feelings about her but both Liberty and Rob should cut loose the cheaters. The “kids” argument for Liberty to stay with her cheating partner is BS as far as I’m concerned. They’re still his kids but they need a healthy environment, not one of mistrust between the parents. What’s the point of having both at home for that?

      • Rux says:

My mom stayed with my dad because of me for 27 years! She was completely unhappy and my dad cheated on her with everything that moved and he could pay for; even my mom’s brother’s wife. her submissiveness to his behavior really left a crack in my ability to trust. I caught him with a hooker in our bathroom when I was 15. The Hooker he had was probably my age if not younger. He has not changed and my mom regrets that she did not listen to me and leave him. I did NOT want her to stay with him; she was old school. I left them and moved out on my own when I was 16 and it was the best decision I ever made. That decision no matter how emotional, saved me from making huge mistakes in relationships throughout my life. Liberty make your namesake count girl; get the money, get the parts and get the f’ out.

Sparkles, just NOOOOOO to get back together with Kristen. Remember that every time you go down on her, Rupert’s been there — shutter —

  4. Brown says:

When I got Mini-Coopered, I still talked with the cheating as*hole afterward for a while. Even agreed to meet him for dinner (terrible idea.) You just have so many questions and you think that if you can just talk to that person they will be able to answer them and that will somehow make it better, but it just doesn’t. There’s really nothing that can be said and after you realize that, it’s totally over.

  5. Jess says:

Good for him. He’s got projects taking him to Australia, England and the middle east over the next year. He should just make a clean break.

  6. Anname says:

The house was $6.5million, and he has owned it for less than a year. He is admittedly cheap. I don’t think he will sell it, he would lose a lot of $$. He will be on location most of the year anyway, I think he will just sit on it for a while and not make a quick emotional decision to sell.

  7. Izzy says:

If the house is that fabulous, he should just let it sit while he travels for work. Once he hooks up with a young hottie (who won’t Mini-Cooper him) and the relationship gets serious, he should have her help him completely renovate the house and redecorate it, then move in with her. And his team should leak it to the press. That would be sweet revenge. (Kind of b!tchy, but then, we are on Celebitchy, right?)

    • johnnybadboytapia says:

Izzy what do u do for a living? U may have a caling as a PR person!!!!

      • Izzy says:

LOL, I work in communications in the nonprofit sector! It already is my calling! But every time I see a major celeb PR fail I cringe. This one at least is understandable, if he sells the house. But I still say my plan is better. Right?

  8. Bored suburbanhousewife says:

    1. I’m surprised that he has apparently stuck to his guns this long and hope it sticks. He deserves better. Just hope he does not go down the path of other disillusioned romantic men and turn into a DiCaprio/Clooney love em leave em type.

    2. I wonder if the favorable public reaction he is getting is playing into his decision to cut her off in any way?

    3. If this really was the momentary indiscretion she describes, I would have thought his break might not be as publicly abrupt and total as it appears. Remember the pap shots of Liz HUrley apparently reaming out Hugh Grant in their garden?

I wonder if Rob has known or learned of A LOT more dirt about her. Also wonder whether he was increasingly chafing at her rude, unloving , unappreciative treatment of him and this was the last straw that finally pushed him over the edge for good.

    • A says:

Actually, no. 3 is why I somewhat believe a lot of the gossip that there was never really a monogamous relationship in the first place and that he wanted out of whatever arrangement they had. If there was more dirt, I honestly think the tabloids would have dug it up by now. They’ve been combing through KStew’s life like crazy. It’s a little insane to refuse to even see someone that you were supposedly in a long term monogamous relationship with…Granted, that’s according to the tabloids. They could have met, talked it out, worked out a deal on how to deal with everything in November, and separated their stuff and dealt with the dog without the tabloids ever knowing. I also think there’s some truth in no. 2.

      • yuya says:

Not really insane to not want to see someone you’ve been in a LTR with who cheated on you. My soon to be ex-husband cheated on me (I caught him red-handed) and I have absolutely no desire to see him or speak with him again. Some people just don’t want trash in their lives.

  9. aquarius64 says:

If he did sell the house, to me it’s a clear sign Robsten is done. Sage on the door post and an exorcism would not be enough to get the bad karma out of there.

Going off topic here: I read Summit is holding up promotion schedules for Breaking Dawn 2 to wait and see if Robsten gets back together. If this is true, I can’t believe Summit is doing this because of the selfish, immature actions of an actress. Are the powers that be so afraid the last Twilight movie’s box office will crash and burn because of the scandal? Are they so desparate they would press the aggreived party to take her back? How can they expect him to forgive her in four months? Summit needs to suck it up and go to plan B and make the best of it. The moral of the story for studios: DO NOT use the personal/romantic lives of your actors to help make money for your franchise. Summit is now seeing this tact blowing up in its face.

    • Jess says:

Wyck Godfrey, the exec producer of the movies said in an interview once that his biggest fear, the thing that kept him up at night was that they would break up. I don’t think Summit wanted them together. Early on it seemed that way especially. And then just when everyone got comfortable, and they seemed like they were in it for the long haul, Kristen went and mini-coopered everyone. The cast, crew, producers, Stephenie Meyer, are probably all so pissed.

      • Brown says:

        ^^this.

Everyone is always talking about how Summit manufactured this romance between them, when I’ve always kind of thought it was more a situation where Summit did NOT want them together for liability reasons (see Mini-Coopering pics for clarification) as a breakup could severely hurt the franchise cash-wise. BUT, I’m sure that only fueled KStew’s need to be with Rob being that they probably weren’t supposed to be together and she’s such a rebel to authority, etc etc etc. When Summit realized they were an item, they were probably forced to just roll with it and pray to the LORD nothing bad happened.

        And then…………… the Mini Cooper.

      • aquarius64 says:

You bet everyone tied to Twilight production wise is mad at hell. They have to deal with the eventual questions that are going to be tossed at them about the scandal. Meyers has been sensitive about how the character of Bella has been slammed; now the cheating scandal has opened up a new line of attack: in Eclipse, Bella CHEATED on Edward with Jacob with a mountain top makeout. She with her morale compass is really going to enjoy having that thrown in her face. Pattinson and Lautner have a serious reason to be mad at Stewart: money. The three inked a deal to get 1.25% each of the box office for BD2; the scandal could mean they can get considerably LESS than expected in their bank accounts. Pattinson may suck it up because he lost his love and pride over her trifling behavior; she was not going to cost him any money.

not that the world need another james dean movie, but he’d make a good j.d.

    • NerdMomma says:

My first thought too! I have literally never found him physically attractive- just not my type- and I really loathe cigarettes but damn. He looks marvelous in the first pic.

  11. mel says:

Selling your house because your partner cheated seems really immature. Who does that except the rich? I admit I LOVED them together – thought they were really cute and seemed to have each other’s backs. I hate they are breaking up but Kristen is waaaaay to young to be in such a long term serious relationship when Rob has indicated he wants to be a young dad. They are on different pages – its time to move on. I really don’t think I will see the last BD movie..it would be just to weird. Thanks Kristen.

    • Jane says:

Too weird to see the last BD movie? This is when you separate Bella and Edward from Rob and Kristen. I loved the Twilight franchise and am looking forward to seeing the last movie. Just because the actors are having personal problems, that is no reason not to see BD2. I would think the box office will explode with people wanting to see it.

      • Janet says:

After sitting through the gaggingly awful mess that was BD1, I don’t care if I never watch 5 minutes of BD2. In fact, 5 minutes would probably be 5 too many.

      • mel says:

I can separate fact from fiction…but IMO it would be weird. For me. I also could not finish breaking dawn because the writing was so bad. so maybe thats part of it…I don’t know.

    • Chris says:

To all the people who say she was way too young, why didn’t she just break up. People talk as if they were married when the truth is, Kristen was free as a bird. The decent and mature or “real” thing to do would be to break up. Not that the cheating itself was the worst part of this. The mini coopering with a married dad is way worse.

  12. jackandkatearelost says:

I’m waiting to see if he’s really selling the house. I don’t trust US Weekly or Gossip Cop. He has the money to take the loss but I can’t see him doing that. Rob saying he’s cheap, kinda confirms that for me. If he doesn’t move back into it he can rent it.

It’s been said that Summit is rearranging the press tour so that Rob and Kristen are not doing interviews together. I do expect to see them on the black carpet together for a couple pictures. Kristen is going to have major security at the BD 2 premiere.

Kristen’s big test will be on Sept 6 at the OTR TIFF premiere and how she appears and acts.

  13. A says:

Eh. While I 99% believe that he ended their relationship (be it open, PR, or a real monogamous thing) for good and will sell the house, I don’t buy that he will sell it right now. There are public records and shit when you put a house on the market. Hence, the general public knowing when Brangelina’s Malibu place was sold, etc. If he sells it within the next few months, it’s just going to bring more media attention. It would make more sense to sell it after BD2 premieres in November. That’s only three months away, and it would keep the press at bay a little bit. I don’t think he will do anything more permanent until BD2 is released (sell the house, be photographed multiple times out on dates, etc.).

I have to say, she was incredibly immature and did a horrible thing by hooking up with a married man. However, if he really refuses to talk to her (they will undoubtedly run into each other in the future, they have to figure out how to separate all their stuff, and will obviously work together in November) then he’s acting somewhat immature too. Even if all the blind items were true and it’s more that he’s pissed that she ruined a good PR arrangement/friendship, flat out refusing to talk to a person you know you have to deal with in the future is dumb. In the long run, I have a hard time trusting any story from US Weekly, Radar, etc. and especially this one, because there would be evidence if the house was actually on the market.

    • Booboocita says:

Last time I had a horrible break-up, I was in my twenties and learned that my BF had cheated on me with two other women, one of whom I thought was my dearest friend. I was devastated for about a year after, to the point where I’d start screaming when people tried to talk to me about him. It’s only been about a month that the Pattinson/Stewart mess happened, and I’m not surprised that he’s not ready to deal. I don’t think he’ll put the house up for sale right away, but I’d be astonished if the realtors weren’t showing it by February or March.

  14. Sway says:

    Being single suits him.

  15. serena says:

    ‘He’s not mad’.

    Sure. LOL

  16. Stubbylove says:

Love that first picture. Agree with above, it is best to have NOT seen Twilight movies – they are pure crap and do him no favors.

    • Jane says:

How do you know the Twilight movies were pure crap? Did you see them? They can’t be pure crap and reap 2.5 billion dollars. That is a hellva lot of tickets. To me Hunger Games was pure crap but I don’t diss it to anyone.

      • Anname says:

Jane, I love the goofiness of Twilight, and will see the last movie, but I can totally admit they are fairly crappy. (No more so than Transformers etc though.)
You will never win an argument trying to defend Twilight – there is too much ammunition to goof on it!

  17. marie says:

I love that VF picture.. I agree with everyone that says he’d be smarter to wait. I don’t think he’s living there, but I don’t think he’s selling either..

  18. Kosmos says:

That was kind of “their” house, so I can totally see him wanting to put that behind him. He has the $$ to get himself something else, or hang out for now, and just rent because he has no need for a settled down lifestyle right now. I can understand him wanting to move on, which is also a sign that there’s no future with Rob and KS either, yay! He really is darling and seems like a good guy. He should be moving on away from that past relationship. KS still has a lot of growing up to do.

  19. elyse says:

just saying, selling the house for a loss might get him even better PR.

“poor sparkles, he’s cheap, but he just had to get the eff out of that house, it’s all the trampire’s fault she lost him millions too”

  20. Amy says:

This guy generally does nothing for me, but that top photo is HOT. And smokers do NOTHING for me, too, so I’m kind of amazed that I can look past the cig and see the hot.

  21. LeslieM says:

Has any one see he in an interview.she is really immature and strange, not to mention boring. When I saw it I thought, this is a first. No other actress acts like this. I got close to a man once when my husband and I were in a bad place and I was very vulnerable. He didn’t hold it against me and we are not fine. I didn’t sleep with him though. Did anyone see that crazy English girl who was crying and acting crazy about the breakup? She was all over tv and radio?
